Love the Hollywood Inn. Very keenly placed and a great atmosphere. Have had christenings there and they always keen to help and to set you a good menu at a keen price. Love the beer garden on a fine day. you can't beat the sticky toffee pudding for a sweet tooth.

Stir Restaurant (Limerick)
Maldron Hotel, Southern Ring Road, Roxboro, Limerick City, Limerick

We were staying, eating and celebrating a 40th birthday here. We were moved to the bar as the heating in the restaurant was broken, they threw in 2 bottles of wine for our inconvenience. The menu was more pub grub than restaurant anywat. Starter of fish cakes with aged salad were tasteless, I thought you probably couldn't go wrong with steak but it was tiny and very tough served with a side nof grated carrots and raw onions???? The chips we ordered on the side were cold but preferential to the lumpy ice cream scoops of mash and super soft vegetables. This was definitely not somewhere I'll be returning to in a hurry.

Fallons Cafe and Bar
Main Street, Kilcullen, Kildare

I went for Sunday lunch with the in laws and having visited for dinner at night was really looking forward to it. It was very busy and we were seated by the back door in the conservatory which is a lovely room but very cold and there were people in and out to smoke so we kept having to get up to close the door. The staff were run off their feet as there was a christening going on but they were not very au fait with the menu and our questions were shrugged off a bit. I went with the duck for starters which was nice if a bit bland and Chicken goan for main which I found to be very salty. For dessert the sticky toffee pudding was delicious as was my husbands berry and ice cream meringue. I didn't think the prices were too extravagant although it is a bit of a treat!

Our first visit and I will definitely be back. The waiter was very attentive and we never had to ask for anything, he was able to recommend different dishes as I like my food spicy and even added a bit more spice for me. I had 3 courses and coffee and was drinking water and my husband had 2 and 2 beers as well and the bill came to 102e.. slightly more pricy than the average indian but definitely worth the money. The interior is beautiful as are the bathrooms. Couldn't fault it!

We stayed at the owners B&B outside of the village and were delighted at the service they offered running us to and from the restaurant and the B&B is first rate. A group of 4 of us had dinner that evening which was fabulous, the garlic potatoes are to die for and the service was great. We left the next morning and called there for breakfast (you eat breakfast there if staying in the B&B) and the waitress actually said to us "Don't leave without paying!!". We were very insulted by this and it would put me off returning even though the experience until then had been wonderful.

The Ballymore Inn
Main Street, Ballymore Eustace, Kildare

Am a bit of a regular just love this place. Its massively overpriced (although prices have dropped lately) and the service sometimes leaves a lot to be desired but there is a gerat atmosphere and the food never fails to excite. It is a bit of a treat... always nice to get a voucher as a gift!
