I love this restaurant, I've been here a few times, and its great that they also do takeaway. I have never had a disappointing meal here, and my other half feels the same. We especially love the Saag Paneer and the Garlic Naans. We've tried other Indian restaurants in the area and although they were nice, our number one is Shanai. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

One Pico Restaurant
5-6 Molesworth Place, Schoolhouse Lane, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Two of us came here after a colleague recommended it. We were greeted on arrival by very pleasant and friendly staff members. We ordered off the set dinner menu, which at €38 per head is very good value. We both had the Fois Gras to start which was delicious and very moreish. I had the duck leg confit while my other half had the pan fried cod. Both were lovely. The desserts were delicious, I had the chocolate ganache which was sublime. Total bill came to €108 including wine. The service was excellent. We'll be back I'm sure for another special occassion.

Roly Saul The Restaurant
The Mill House, Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin

Came here for a family birthday. We had informed the restaurant earlier in the week that we would be bringing a child, so they sat us in a quiet section where we wouldn't disturb other diners. There was another family in the same area but we definitely had our own privacy. We went for the pre-theatre menu that is currently available all evening. The starters were lovely, I had the deep fried Brie, and the main courses were also very nice, I had the beef forerib with horseradish mash. The dessert was superb - I had the banoffee with hazelnut cream - as were the coffees. There was plenty of time between courses which at times seemed quite long, but our evening was relaxed and we weren't rushed out the door. I would recommend this restaurant for families and grown up's only. Were certainly made feel welcome.

The Exchequer
3-5 Exchequer Street, City Centre South, Dublin

Came here as a group on the first sitting of the evening. Some of our group were late and the waitress advised that this could be messy later in the evening as they needed the table back by 9.30. However she was very nice and at no time did we feel under pressure. We had the set menu for 30Euro. I had the goat cheese starter and the hake as the main. Both were delicious and I couldn't fault them. However I was extremely envious of the Rare Beef Salad starter which looked evine and got good reviews from those that ordered it. The crispy pork belly with calamari was cooked to perfection as I was able to get a taste of my neighbours, and everyone enjoyed their steaks. The only downside was that we got dessert platters, but that was possibley just me being greedy! The staff were friendly, helpful and thoughtful. I'd recommend this place no problem and I plan on coming back soon!!

Blue Orchid Blackrock
Newpark Centre, Newtown Park Avenue, South Co. Dublin, Blackrock, Dublin

Ordered takeout from here after years of promising I would. I was quite disappointed. We ordered beef massaman curry and beef pad thai, and split both dishes so we had a bit of each. The pad thai was greasy and not at all appetizing looking. The massaman curry was very saucy, didn't seem spicy and wasn't what I was hoping for at all. Two mains for just under €20 isn't bad, but I feel it was money wasted as I could have paid slightly more and gotten a much higher standard from another Thai Takeaway in Blackrock

The Stillorgan Orchard
1 The Hill, Stillorgan, Stillorgan, Dublin

Came here with a large group, the staff were as attentive as possible, however they were definitely overstretched, I guess another sign of the economy we're in. The food was very tasty, I had the chicken wings (very generous and moreish) to start and fillet steak for my main. The steak was cooked perfectly - blue the way I like it. The only bad bit was the pepper sauce which I hadn't ordered anyway but came as a side. I plan on coming here for lunch with some of my workmates soon

Milano (Dundrum)
Dundrum Shopping Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin

We came here on a Thursday afternoon around 2.30 for a late lunch, there were 4 of us and a baby in a pram. We were seated pretty quickly given the restaurant was quite busy, they ensured we had a good seat so that we could tuck the pram away. We had a main and a dessert. The food is always good here, and is even better when they have special offers by email. Our two courses cost us €14.95 each which was really good value. The restaurant is really child friendly, my sister needed to change baby and she told us that the restaurant even provides nappies!! I'd recommend this place for a casual lunch

Rolys Bistro
7 Ballsbridge Terrace, Dublin, Ballsbridge, Dublin

The 3 of us came here for a 2pm lunch with baby in toe. The lady at reception seemed a bit apprehensive about us having the baby with us but quickly became quite accommodating by arranging somewhere for the buggy to be stored and an extra chair to be provided to put baby on. Once seated we were handed our menus promptly and offered some bread. Delicious! Our orders were taken almost immediately so it was lucky that we'd checked out their website prior to our visit. All of our starters were lovely though the fishcakes were by far the best, I'm ordering them next time! Our mains were lovely, and the portions were very generous not to mention the side orders of veg. The desserts were also very tasty. All in all, 3 course lunch for three incl service charge and coffees for €80, you can't go wrong, especially with the standard of the food. The wait staff were a bit hit and miss, the girls were very friendly and were cooing over the baby, though one of them had earlier dropped a cup and saucer from the table next to us onto the floor. The male waiter who I assume was some kind of manager was quite cold and intrusive, we could have happily enjoyed our meal without his input. Apart from that, I would definitely recommend this restaurant and am planning my next visit!

The Step Inn Lounge Restaurant
Enniskerry Road, Stepaside Village, Stepaside, Stepaside, Dublin

I've eaten here loads of times and have yet to be d.isappointed. We arrived here for a quick bite without booking. We needn't have worried, we had our pick of tables as the place was practically empty... A sign of the times or just the fact it was Tuesday? Anyway I had the veggie goats cheese wrap with chips for €9.40 (great value), and it tasted like more! The staff are always friendly and don't mind that sometimes we all pay separately. I'd definitely recommend coming here at any point in the week

Milano (Dawson Street)
38 Dawson Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

Came here with a group for dinner. You can never go wrong with the food from Milano's. As per usual the food was lovely. I had a caesar salad to start, it was a bit salty for my liking but it probably would have been lovely if I'd added chicken to it. I had an old favourite the Siciliana which is no longer on their menu, but they made it for me all the same. The waiter was only so so, it was pretty obvious towards the end of our meal that he was in a hurry for us to leave, which was disappointing given we were paying a pretty sizeable service charge. All in all I would recommend Milano's for casual dining, but I've had much better dining experiences in their dundrum restaurant. A nice meal was off set by the 2 for 1 coupons we were emailed... You can't get better value than that!

La Peniche @ RIASC
Barge Riasc, Mespil Road Jetty, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Visited here on a Friday evening with a group. I'd been here about 2 years ago, and had a great experience so I was expecting good things. We had seen the menu on the website and there seemed to be a good selection. When we arrived however the menu was whittled down to a choice of 3 starters, 3 mains and 2 desserts, none of the starters or mains were vegetarian. I ordered the pate for my starter, lots of pate not much bread, but if I'd eaten it all I would have been pretty full. My main was essentially bangers and mash. Nice but nothing special. I had the chocolate brownie to finish but it was very dry, it could have done with some ice-cream or cream. Some of my group ordered the carrot cake which was delicious. All in all it was just an average dining experience. The food was definitely better on my last trip. I might try it again for the novelty value, and at €29.50 for 3 courses it's not expensive.

Ukiyo
7-9 Exchequer Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Came here with a fairly large group. Our table wasn't ready on our arrival, but we didn't mind waiting. Food was lovely, I started with beef springrolls as they didn't have any peking duck. I had the BBQ Eel for my main, I would highly recommend that dish. The Karaoke was also very good. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable evening, not suitable for formal dining but a good place to go for a casual evening.. I'll be back

Bloom Brasserie & Wine Bar
11 Upper Baggot Street, Dublin 4, City Centre South, Dublin

Visited here with a large group, on Friday evening. We had a set menu, which was really lovely and didn't take too long to come out given the size of our group. The staff were lovely if a little over familiar. The food was cooked perfectly. I'm definitely coming back here for an early bird with my other half. The decor was a bit cold, but we made our own atmosphere!
