Bunsen
36 Wexford St, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I love this place. The burgers, fries and milkshakes are delicious! Gluten free options and always perfectly prepared & cooked. It gets really busy and you may be waiting a while but with so many bars on Wexford street you are spoiled for choice with where to wait. As it is busy it can be difficult to get extras from the servers/get the servers attention, they are always very friendly however.

Just came in for coffee and a pint after lunch elsewhere to catch the last few minutes of the match. No decaff, unorganised staff, overpriced drinks and rude service. Left as soon as the full time whistle blew.

La Peniche @ RIASC
Barge Riasc, Mespil Road Jetty, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Nice different evening out, food good especially the duck. Lovely wine also. The only downfall is that the staff are a little too attentive. Was speaking with a friend while enjoying my main course I turned to speak, turned back and my dinner had been cleared!! Apart from that really lovely.

Went in here last week for some lunch the staff are lovely as always but it is so busy during lunch service you have to get in before the crowd! Food isalways of a really high quality but i think I chose salads that were not to my taste on this occasion! Will be back I really like this place.

Oliviers at the Schoolhouse
2-8 Northumberland Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin

We had booked into olivers for a meal last Tuesday but we ended up staying in the bar for some pub grub due to our reservation being forgotten and the fact the restaurant was empty! I was so happy we opted for pub grup! It was delicious! We all had the Beef and Guinness pie, and i have never had such a lovely pie in my life! It was fab, loads of filling, really rich and beefy, the meat was so tender, and the pastry was perfect! To top it off some mulled wine beside the fire was fantastic! I will definately be back I loved it!

profile_review

Milano (Dundrum)
Dundrum Shopping Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin

Came in here today for lunch with a friend, we had the calamari to start, nice and a lovely Il Padrino Pizza for main. Pizza was tasty and fresh. A nice place, child friendly, but the staff are a bit distant. I like this place I think it's ok value and a nice treat.

The Harbour Seafood Bar & Grill
Harbour Hotel, New Docks, Galway City, Galway

We stayed in the hotel for a few days and dinner was included in the price. Restaurant was really busy so a reservaion is a must. Food was good, I had vol au vent to start, smoked haddock and to finish lemon tart. Portions are on the large size! Wine was good and coffee wery nice. I would reccomend if you are staying in the hotel.

profile_review

The Kings Head
15 High Street, Galway City, Galway

We came in here for a drink before dinner on Monday night and just stayed for dinner! Had fish and chips, it was lovely. The only downside was the mushy peas, they could have done with a good dose of mint! Place is great, atmosphere good fun, band after the match was fantastic and will definately return.

profile_review

Gemelles
23 Quay Street, Galway City, Galway

We had dinner here on Tuesday night and it was nice. I had thai fish cakes to start, my partner had the crostini and we both had steak. Food was nice, wine good and staff friendly. The restaurant itself was quaint, not my personal style but I'd say the tourists love it! Enjoyed the evening and I would return.

profile_review

Cellar Bar
Eglington Street, Galway City, Galway

We came in for lunch and had sandwiches which were ok. The place is informal, not the nicest place in the world, food fine, staff fine, a very forgettable experience to be honest. The tables and chairs could do with a good clean...

Graces Bar and Restaurant
1 North Main Street, Naas, Kildare

Came in here for a lunch with a friend a few weeks ago It was really nice. We had toasted sandwiches and chips which were really good but there was a wide variety of foods on offer. Our Lunch was lovely, especially the coffee and the service was excellent. I really enjoyed it and we could have stayed all evening it was so relaxed and welcoming. I hear it's a good spot for a few drinks aswell so will be back it the near future!

profile_review

Marios (Terenure)
103 Terenure Road East, Dublin 6, Terenure, Dublin

We went to Marios last night as it was always a firm favourite of ours... I've changed my mid on this. We were seated fast enough before waiting 20 minutes to give our order. We had to ask for a glass of water which came eventually, we were assured that water is usually brought straight to the table, but this was the smallest issue of the evening. We waited ages for the starters to arrive and when they did they left a lot to be desired. My risotto was not good at all, it was so so bland, awful, and it tasted and felt like baby food. Our plates were taken away without an enquiry as to how they were, but the majority of the waiting staff also left me feeling unsatisfied last night. Our pizzas came out almost immediately, which made me question how long they were sitting in the kitchen but to my surprise they tasted fine. After we asked for the bill we were left sitting for half an hour before having to ask once again, very frustrating. On the plus side the wine was nice. I will not be returning any time soon especially when there are so many great places to eat in Terenure.

profile_review

Zaytoon (Lower Camden Street)
44-55 Lower Camden Street, Dublin 2, Camden Street, Dublin

Good place to drop into after a night out, the Kubideh are lovey as are the Chicken-Shish-Kebab as is the Chicken Donner. The staff are friendly and fast and although it is a little ovepriced the portions are huge, one meal would easily do 2 people.

profile_review

The Green Hen

Salamanca Fusion
38 - 40 Parliament Street, City Centre South, Dublin

What value!! Came here today for Sunday lunch, starter, main and hot drink for €10! Amazing! I had salmon salad to start, steak for main and it was lovely. My only complain was that there was a bit too much dressing on the salad, but that's personal choice. I will definaltely go back, lovely relaxed atmosphere, staff very friendly, service great! I think I might make this a Sunday tradition!!

profile_review

Lemon (Dawson St)
60 Dawson St, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Marios (Ranelagh)
39 Ranelagh Village, Dublin 6, Ranelagh, Dublin

We came here on Sunday for a light lunch. It was great value €8 for a main. My friend had the chicken primavera and i had the salmon linguine. The chicken was fab,the salmon only ok. I will be back for the chicken, the sauce was beautiful. I had a glass of wine, two lunches, and a glass of wine for €22, great value.

ely gastro bar
Grand Canal Square, (Next to the Bord Gais Energy Theatre), Dublin 2, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin

We came here for lunch today and were pleasantly suprised! We had soup to start, lovely and thick, properly homemade tomato soup with a lovely twist and served with fantastic Guinness bread, beautiful. We had the Mushroom and Cheese tart, which was unreal, really simple ingredients but so made, the pastry in itself was perfect. We finished the meal with the bananna desert, writing about I want some now, it was fantastic. We also had some lovely rasberry daiquiris' which were gorgeous. The only issue we would have was with the portion size as we wanted more please! Will be returning, and can't wait to go back!

profile_review

Metro Cafe
43 South William Street, South William Street, Dublin

Visited on Friday, it was packed with the sunny day. The staff were awful, we waited ages for menu's as they attended to all the tables around us ( even though the people had sat after us) before they came near us. We just had deserts and coffees, both coffees were awful and deserts dry. Will not be revisiting any time soon.....

profile_review

Bellagio
92 Terenure Road North, Dublin 6W, Terenure, Dublin

I had lunch here today with a friend, and the value is great; starter and main for €10!. I had the bruschetta to start it was so nice, huge portion and loads of flavour. My friend had the Mussels, she really enjoyed them. I had the mushroom pizza for main, really nice, crust was really thin and crispy and the toppings really fresh. The chicken and white wine sauce was well received but there was no choice but to have chips with it... two coffees were really nice. The total meal was under thirt quid; 2 starters, two mains, a mineral and two coffees... The only issue was the waiter pretty much stood over us to get our order, when all we wanted to do when we came in was setle ourselves, have a chat and relax for a minute before looking at the menus, it was really quiet in there so I'd say he was bored silly but it was a bit comical!! I'll definately be back and as lunch is served until 5 o clock each day it's a winner!

Arc Cafe Bar
Liffey Vallley Shopping Centre, Fonthill Rd, West Dublin, Liffey Valley, Dublin

My first visit to Arc and it wont be my last. I availed of the "ladies night" tuesday menu which was €20 for a starter, a main and a cocktail! The food was excellent, I had the mushrooms to start and a lovely chicken dish for mains, it was beautiful! The food is so well prepared and presented really well. The waiting staff are so friendly and helpful and the restaurant is really comfortable! I can't wait to go back..!

profile_review

Jack Whites Inn
Jack Whites Cross Brittas Bay, Wicklow Town, Wicklow

Had a lovely Sunday lunch here with frineds a few weeks ago. It was packed with people so get here early or be disappointed! The carvery is lovely, the portions are huge and really good value. I had the belgian waffles for desert, really tasty. The only problem was the staff, we were brought to a table by a man that seemed to be a manager when a waitress started giving him lip about how we shouldn't be allowed to sit there, it was too busy and they were over worked... This little outburst was not very welcoming and we were left slightly uncomfortable for the rest of the meal. Apart from this the food and pub were nice and we will be going there again, hopefully when it's not so busy!

profile_review

Eddie Rockets (Walkinstown)
Lidl Shopping Centre, Walkinstown Avenue, Dublin 12, Walkinstown, Dublin

Really enjoyed my trip to eddie rockets this evening. A new menu is in place with meal deals of six fifty or ten euro as well as an offer to add drink and fries to your burger order for an extra three euro. I went away from my usual chicken tenders and garlic fries today and got the mozzarella burger and sweet potato fries... lovely but I wasn't to fond of the sweet chilli dip with the fries, I would prefer if I was offered a choice. I love eddie ockets for an occasional casual treat, and will be back!

profile_review

JD's Steakhouse

Jo'Burger
137 Rathmines Road, Dublin 6 , South Dublin, Rathmines, Dublin

I went to Jo Burger with a friend on a Sunday evening and we had a great time. The atmosphere was fab and the food really nice. I had the Dobson and my friend had the Jabaulani and we shared a portion of sweet potato fries. The food was so good, and the portions were huge. We had cola and rasberry lemonade to drink which were lovely. The staff were so friendly and i'll definately be returning!

profile_review

El Bahia Moroccan Restaurant
37 Wicklow Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Went here last night and the food and atmosphere was great. Had a variety of lovely starters and really enjoyed the Felfla and had the Fish Tagine for main which was very tasty. The wine was lovely and the desert sweets were unusual... My only issue was with the service which was a bit slow, the accompaniments were served after the main course and the tea/coffees came out very slowly. Apart from these small hiccups it was a great evening and I will defiately be returning.

Luigi Malones Restaurant
5/6 Cecilia Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

Went in yesterday for lunch, wont be rushing back, it almost feels as if you are in the way, it's so difficult to get the staffs attention. Food ok, nothing to write home about maybe I just ordered the wrong thing but usually chicken wings are a safe bet... a bit stringy and greasy yesterday and the chips a little soggy....

Harolds Cross Greyhound Stadium
Harolds Cross Race Track, Dublin 6W, Harolds Cross, Dublin

Went to dobbins last friday with a group of friends, it was a great evening out. Food was nice, especially the salmon starter, really tasty. The service however was only ok. The waitress was really slow to take our order at the start, and had no patience when taking order. One of our group is coeliac and with every course she had to send back her food as the waitress obviously didnt pass on her requests to the kitchen, this became very annoying by desert. A final point that could be improved is the inclusion of caffine free tea/coffee, as during the last course i was left drinking hot water as my intollerance to caffene was not catered for. Regardless of these minor iratitions it was a great night and we hope to repeat it soon!!

profile_review

Nakon Thai
Tramway House, Douglas Village, Douglas, Cork

We ate out of here on Sunday night, lovely food well cooked and large portions. The combo to start, a lovely selection of different tastes and then we had Gaeng Kiew Wan Gai (green curry), Gaeng Peht Gai (red curry), and Matsaman Gai (matsaman curry) with rice and noodles. All were really nice but as I'm not especially fond of spicy food the green curry was perfect for me. I will definatey eat here again.

The Club Brasserie
Lapps Quay, Cork City, Cork

We had dinner in here on Saturday night and it was so tasty. I had a crab brulee to start and my boyfiend had the pate, both really nice. We both had steak for mains, well cooked with lovely sides and sauce. For desert I had the crumble and my partner had the sticky toffee pudding, really nice. The service staff were lovely and I will definately be returning the next time I'm in Cork!

Wineport Lodge
Glasson, Glasson, Westmeath

My Friend and I went to the Wineport for a "Girl Friday" weekend and had heard loads of great things about it, so we were expecting great things. The hotel is beautiful, views and rooms fab and the hotel staff are very nice. We had booked dinner for Friday night and from the start of the evening things took a bad turn. On arriving into the cocktail lounge, where you order your meal and drinks, we were met by a member of staff who was unfriendly and rude. When we enquired about the carbonara dish on the menu they looked at us, sighed and responded without answering our question, obviously annoyed we had asked a question in the first place. We were seated in the restaurant after a short wait. I got duck for starter and my friend got the portobello mushroom, both really tasty. Then our mains arrived, carbonara, horrible. Packed with turnips, and the salt was overpowering. The staff were lovely and changed our meals immediately. I had the seabass and my friend had the veal. The bass was ok, the veal below average. We finished the meal with a berry trio and a brulee, which were nice. I was so dissapointed overall and I will not be returning. Such a shame for a beautiful hotel with a good reputation to be let down by the restaurant.

Monto Caffe
45 Sundrive Road, Crumlin, Crumlin, Dublin

I usually just get take out from Monto Cafe but today I had lunch with a friend. We both were happily suprised by a lovely atmosphere and friendly service. We just had sandwiches and coffee and they were well made and great value. I Was happy to see the place busy and welcoming of families. It was great just to sit happily and chat without being rushed out the door and I will definately be returning.

Spurs Family Restaurant
U42 Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, Liffey Valley, Liffey Valley, Dublin

Had lunch here today with friends, service slow but food yum. Had a variety of starters, chicken wings and ribs very nice. For mains had a lovely steak, well cooked, but the sides were a bit bland. Thought the free drink refils were a great idea. Needs extra staff to run smoothly as the waiter was run off his feet! Will be returning for an informal dinner with friends.
