Silks Chinese Restaurant
5 The Mall , Co. Dublin, Malahide, Dublin, Area Code: Co. Dublin
Reviewed 29th May 2007 ( visited 29th May 2007 )Really enjoy the food any time I go here and the portions are massive. They let you take away anything that hasn't been eaten in a doggie back cos there's usually mountains of stuff left. Reasonable prices for the quality of food and the surroundings
Elephant & Castle restaurant
18/19 Temple Bar, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin, Area Code: Dublin 2
Reviewed 28th May 2007 ( visited 28th May 2007 )Chilli burger with red onions is really good, also the specials are usually great. Desserts leave a lot to be desired though. Ask for a bread basket with blue cheese dip while you wait for your wings mmmmmm
McHugh’s Wine & Dine Restaurant
59 St. Assam's Park, Dublin 5, Raheny, Dublin
Went here recently to try out the early bird menu and was not overly impressed, the food was ok, but nothing spectacluar. Had fish and chips for mains which was nice, liked the chunky chips but there wasn't a large enough portion given. Chicken wings to start were also very small portion and the blue cheese dip was bland. Nice decor etc but think the menu needs some tweaking.
318 Clontarf Road, North Co. Dublin , Clontarf, Dublin
Ate here with the girls for the early bird and was very impressed. Had a beautiful table at the wondow overlooking the sea. Ordered chicken pakora for starters which was delicious, had a lamb curry for mains - very spicy but offset by a nice cooling portion of raita. Garlic naan onn the side. Really filling for the price.
Rosslare Strand, Rosslare, Wexford
Nice homely pub that serves surprisingly good pub grub. Lovely roast dinners like Mammy used to make, washed down with a pint of guinness - heaven. Service is friendly and attentive. Will be returning
Toss'd Noodles & Salads
Chq Building, Dublin Docklands, City Centre North, Dublin
Food here tastes great, have tried the Thai Yellow curry and chicken teryake which are both freshly cooked and very tasty. it's impossible to get a seat between 12.30 and 1.30 so recommend going outside these times. Quite expensive for lunch in a box though!
120 Ranelagh Road, Ranelagh, Dublin
Food here is always delicious, the chocolate soup is to die for. Also tried the mushrooms on toast which were very moreish. I will certainly be returning
ely bar & brasserie
CHQ Building, Georges Dock, Dublin 1, City Centre, IFSC, Dublin
The food here is of quite a good standard and there really is a buzz about the place, especially when the sun is shining and the tables outside are full. Chocolate mousse for dessert is to die for. The only gripe I have is the service, one waitress/bar person was so rude to us that it would put me off returning. She looked at us with pure disdain when we questioned something on our bill. In this economic climate I don't know how this is still happening! Also, we were charged for two items that we did not order so check your bill. Pity, because we really did enjoy the food...
La Cuvee @ Eno Wine Bar
1 Burton Hall, Mayor Square, IFSC, City Centre North, Dublin
Ate here before a concert in the O2 for the Early Bird menu, the food was excellent. I chse the fish cakes to start which were moist and had big chunks of fish in them. For mains I had the steak, it's served with about 6 chunky chips but it was filling enough. Finished off with the chocolate torte which was delicious. Will be returning here for sure.
66/67 Great South Georges Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin
Ate here last Saturday as part of the dine in dublin week and had a really enjoyable meal. Our meal was booked for 6.30 and when we arrived the place was fairly empty. Service was good as it was so quiet but by the time we were leaving the place was jammed and the waiting staff couldn't seem to cope. Myself and my companion had hummous and skewered chicken with guacamole for starters. Both were really tasty and the waitress broyght extra bread when she noticed we had finished ours within minutes. We both had the ribeye steak for mains, perfectly cooked as we had ordered it (rare), the fries that came with it were a little greasy i thought but tasty all the same. For dessert we had the chocolate cake which was FAB, and the cheescake which was also tasty. Washed down with a couple of mojitos and a few glasses of wine, the bill came to €90 which I thought was excellent value
23 Watermill road, North Dublin, Dublin 5, Raheny, Dublin
Been here a few times, the food is good especially the fillet steak. The service hoever, is not great. I asked the waiter to bring an extra portion of garlic bread to the table, I had to remind him. Then when it finally arrived we were all pretty much finished our meal when it arrived. Ruen Thai across the road is much better value and service is better
7 The Green, North Co. Dublin, Malahide, Dublin
This place is such a find. Any time I've eaten her the food has been amazing and the service excellent. Great spot for lunch and the lamb wrap is to die for...
Cactus Jacks (Middle Abbey St)
Millennium Walkway, Middle Abbey Street, City Centre North, Italian Quarter, Dublin
Ate here last night, the fish platter is really good, chimichanga wasn't as nice as I expected but overall good value
Jaipur Restaurant (Malahide)
5 St James's Terrace, Dublin 15, Malahide, Dublin
Dined here last night and the food was amazing. Delicate use of spices means the food is not overbearing. Will be back....
The Bull & Castle and F.X. Buckley Steakhouse
5-7 Lord Edward Street, Christchurch, Dublin 8, City Centre South, Dublin
Ate here at the weekend as we were going to a show in the Tivoli. Ordered the mussels to start, these were delicious but would have been better served with some brown bread to mop up the sauce. When I asked the waitress for some brown bread she said they had none (smoked salmon and brown bread is another starter) she sent us a brown roll. This was the only niggle of the night though. Fillet steak was gorgeous and cooked to perfection as ordered. Had the choc brownie for dessert which was also lovely. Will defo be back - would like to see a bit more variety on the starters menu though
Hard Rock Cafe
12 Fleet Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin
Went here for Chritmas dinner with my company last year and the food and service were a disgrace. Very poor quality food that tasted of cardboard and it wasn't even that cheap
Bad Ass Cafe
Crown Alley, Temple Bar, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Very average - if you're looking for good pizza stroll across the road to the pizza place in Eamon Dorans it's delicious Ney York style pizza by the slice and a fraction of the cost of the Bad Ass Cafe.
The Alamo Restaurant
22 Temple Bar, Temple Bar, Dublin
Deep fried ice cream is amazing but apart from that this place is very average. Also the hard wooden benches are not very comfortable...
14 Merrion Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin
They have just changed their menu and it's actually quite good. Pub grub at its best, the enchiladas are yummy. On the other hand the staff are possibly the rudest and most incompetent I have ever seen. They bring out everyone’s meals at completely different times. For example I had just ordered a toasted sandwich and coleslaw. Got my sandwich a good 20 mins before everyone else got their food and when I asked the waitress where the coleslaw was she told me it would be served last after everyone had their food. Aggh told her I didn't want in that case. The food was then thrown at us and we were ignored for the rest of our time there. It's a pity the staff are so bad as the food is good.
Jewel in the Crown (Ballsbridge)
41-43 Shelbourne Road, Dublin 4, Ballsbridge, Dublin
Very bad decor but the staff were so friendly we almost didn't notice. Food was good but this place is in a prime location and could be doing so much better.
46 Upper Baggot Street, Dublin 4, City Centre South, Dublin
Have only eaten here once and did not know what to expect as I have never had Malaysian food but it was delicious, very like Thai. Staff were lovely and although the room is quite small we did not feel cramped (there were 8 in our group). Nice place to eat before going to the Shelbourne Races
Chill Out Cafe
10A Merrion Road, Ballsbridge, Ballsbridge, Dublin
Food is ok, would only ever go for the lunch menu which is cheap and cheerful. Decor is nice but the chicken in all the dishes is that rubbery stuff which is NOT TASTY
Ballsbridge Terrace, Ballsbridge, Dublin
The decor is horrendous but I have never encountered nicer staff that always have a bit of banter with you. They do a carvery lunch which is always nice and very cheap. Chicken wings are also good but they have the wing and drumstick attached which makes them look a bit unappealing
174 Pembroke Road, Ballsbridge, Ballsbridge, Dublin
They do a really good lunch menu for only €10 for two courses. Plenty of food for lunchtime and it's really tasty too...
(Under Connolly Station) IFSC, City Centre North, Dublin
This place is very average food wise but quite expensive for what you're getting and in a pub surrounding. Steer clear of the goat’s cheese in pastry on the lunch menu; it's a massive ball of goat’s cheese and quite sickening. Pizza is nice though
Captain America's Cookhouse And Bar
44 Grafton Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Good atmosphere but the food is defo not what it used to be. The burger tasted like any frozen one you'd pick up in the supermarket and the portions were small and bland bland bland.
Northwood Demense, North Dublin, Santry, Dublin
Really like this place, the atmosphere is lovely for either a romantic night out or a group gathering and the food is top notch. Nice good quality food that you don't have to go to the city center for
Old Plaza Restaurant
Unit 20, 1st Floor, The Plaza, Swords, Dublin
Did not have a good experience in this restaurant, we went with a party of 15 at Xmas which had been booked weeks in advance. When we got there they told us that three of the party would have to sit on their own table, they then said that we did not have a choice of menu and they would choose a selection of dishes (this was not told to us at time of booking). Food was average, wine list was awful and they charged us €70 each for the privilege. Will not be going back
The Bloody Stream Restaurant
Under Howth Dart Station, North Dublin, Howth, Dublin
Food is good, fresh seafood well prepared. Staff can be a bit unhelpful though. When we were there we asked to be seated outside for our food, the waiter said that there was no eating allowed outside that day. When I pointed out two people eating outside he informed me that that was the owner. Grrrr
20 Main Street, Howth, Dublin
Lovely simple pub grub. The cajun chicken is yummy and dead cheap. They also have a choice of about ten homemade desserts; we had three of them between the table and would go back for them alone....
Casa Pasta (Howth)
12 Harbour Road, Howth, Dublin
This place does exactly what it says on the tin. Down to earth food at good prices with a great atmosphere. Really good to go to with a group before a few drinks in Howth
Silks Chinese Restaurant
5 The Mall , Co. Dublin, Malahide, Dublin
Really enjoy the food any time I go here and the portions are massive. They let you take away anything that hasn't been eaten in a doggie back cos there's usually mountains of stuff left. Reasonable prices for the quality of food and the surroundings
7 Ballsbridge Terrace, Dublin, Ballsbridge, Dublin
High end food at reasonable prices. They have a three course lunch menu for about €20. Where else would you get quality like this at that price. Menu changes with the seasons and food is always fresh and locally sourced where possible
Elephant & Castle
18/19 Temple Bar, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Chilli burger with red onions is really good, also the specials are usually great. Desserts leave a lot to be desired though. Ask for a bread basket with blue cheese dip while you wait for your wings mmmmmm
The Waterside Inn
Opposite Howth Yacht Club, Harbour Road, North Co. Dublin, Howth, Dublin
One of my favourite places to eat on the north side of Dublin. Staff are so attentive and the fish is unbelievably good. The chef came out most times we're there to tell us about the specials - very friendly. Food in the pub downstairs is cooked in the same kitchen and is also really good and much cheaper. Crab claws in garlic butter with brown bread are seriously addictive. Can't say enough good things about this place
The Upper Deck duplicate
Harbour Road, Above the Waterside Pub, Howth, Dublin
This place has gone rapidly downhill in the last few years. All the main courses are starting to taste the same and are bland bland bland.
12G New Street, Shopping Mall, North Co. Dublin, Malahide, Dublin
Mario’s has the best pizza on the north side of Dublin, plus you can order what looks like a huge glass vase full of wine. Really relaxed chilled out place and great to go to after a few drinks in Gibneys on a Sunday bank holiday afternoon - LOVE IT
