TGI Friday (Dundrum)
Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin

On my first visit to the Dundrum Shopping Centre after checking out the stores we went here for lunch. We picked from the set menu which is two courses for €15 seven days a week. The cocktail menu is also set at €5 per drink on a large selection, I had a woowoo, she had a purple rain, it was full of cranberry goodness.I had the burger which was really great and she had the garlic chicken primavera. We shared the chocolate dessert with a scoup of vanilla ice cream. I always enjoy the TGi experience, always go back for more.

Hard Rock Cafe
12 Fleet Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

As someone who has previously eaten in Hard Rock in the US and Amsterdam I hoped I wouldn't be disappointed by the Irish branch. We were seated very quickly, however the seat was in a bit of a draft as the main front doors are left open all the time. We were in the mood for a cocktail and felt we couldn't go wrong with €5 all day menu. I had a side Caeser Salad as a starter and for mains I had The Big Cheese, she had the SOS burger. Both were served with fries. They were so filling at lunchtime that even at 8pm that evening we were still full right up. I love Hard Rock Cafe, the Irish version is as good as the others.

The Weir Bistro
Western Road, The River Lee Hotel, Cork City, Cork

While staying at the fantastic Jury's 4* recently we dined at the lovely Weir Bistro. We were seated at a window table with a lovey view of the Lee waters just outside. The bistro menu offers a nice selection but as we were heading out in the city right afterwards we plumped for the Weir Burger. It was a mildly herb flavoured meat patty, almost cumberland to the taste. It came in a lovely bun with chunky chips and a choice of three dips, one being guacamole. To wash it down I had a diet coke. The burger was delicious, very different from those on offer at city centre fast food bars. And the large square cut chips were an ideal accompaniment. All in all the Weir Bistro was a delightful dining experience, I'd gladly go back again.

Bewley's Café
Grafton Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Headed to Bewleys after the train journey up from Cork. Had never been here before but had heard of it many many times. Ordered the full Irish which came with option of tea or coffee. While the meats, mushroom and tomato and toast were cooked perfectly the amount of slimey grease on the plate was rather excessive. All in all the atomsphere was very pleasant and I would certainly pop back in again very soon.

Currans Restaurant
Adelaide Street, Cork City, Cork

Ate here on Sunday evening. Arrived in and were seated quite quickly. Water and glasses were brought to the table but the menu's didn't get to us for about 15 mins when we finally gave in and asked to see them. We ordered straight away, I had the thai seafood salad and my friend had the deep fried mushrooms. We were both pleased with what we go. For main she had the creole chicken burger and I had the blues burger. Both were really good. As there is a cocktail menu we both indulged, I had an After Eight and it was really nice. For dessert she had the pavlova and I had the double chocolate tort, we were both enjoyed our choices. When we went to pay I found it was a tad expensive for what we really got. I would go back to Currans but not in a hurry!

Captain America's Cookhouse and Bar (Cork)
4/5 South Main Street, Cork, Cork City, Cork

A step up from the American diner, a type of Hard Rock Cafe in Cork City Centre. Up a flight up the stairs and your surrounded by all the Hard Rock style trappings. Booths are best for comfort. I had the Deluxe burger and it was the best burger I've had since the Standard in LA..terrific. It really is a great treat and I would go back again anytime.

Brannigans Cork - Closed
Mahon Point Shopping Centre Mahon, Cork City, Cork

I've had breakfast here in the past when sale shopping in Mahon Point but decided to try the movie meal deal recently. Arrived and were greeted and brought to a table. As part of the Movie Meal Deal we were restricted on what we could have. I had a burger and fries, my girlfriend had a pasta dish. I was happy with what I got but she wasn't best pleased with what was served. Thankfully her sweet-tooth was satisfied with a heavy chocolate dessert (not part of deal)..The full menu has so much more to offer and the movie deal could do with a menu revamp. Would only go back if that happened.

Eddie Rockets (Blackash)
Travelodge, Kinsale Roundabout, Blackash, Cork City, Cork

This Eddie Rockets is ideally located for someone who's been shopping in the City and are heading home down West. It would also suit those staying at the Travelodge nextdoor as it just a hop, skip and a leap away. My favourite burger the "classic" and on this occasion added grilled onions..very tasty. Wet fries were good and washed it down with an oreo cookie shake..While the price is not right it's still a nice treat.

Pizza Hut (Blanchardstown)
Blanchardstown, West Dublin, Dublin 15, Blanchardstown, Dublin

After a hectic shop I dropped into Pizza Hut and as luck would have it was able to avail of the lunch buffet. Seems to be a popular draw as the pizza's under this offer are snapped up in a flash. If you see a member of staff coming to refill the hot buffet counter get yourself up there or it'll be gone! Salad options are limited but filling enough. All in all a decent option for a stress free lunch.

Eddie Rockets (Santry)
The Omni Shopping Centre, North Dublin, Santry, Dublin

Called into Eddie Rockets, starving at the time. We were seated by the security man at the door, as the waiting staff were way too busy. Diner was clean in appearance and the jukebox was playing the classics as per usual. So hungry that I went for 1/2 fries 1/2 onion rings, the classic minus the strong onion, and a diet coke. Drinks were served first but were totally flat, not a bit of fizz on offer. After over 20 mins the food landed to the table. Fries & onion rings were fine, the burger was cooked well but was loaded up in large raw onions which I didn't want. I was too hungry to send it back so I just picked them out! Eddie Rockets delivers a good alternative to other fast food chains but for 3 times the price. I do try to resist but I still keep going back for more!

Premier Inn Dublin Airport Restaurant
Premier Inn Dublin Airport, Airside Retail Park, Swords, Dublin

Was staying at the Tulip recently and dined in the bistro. Was really impressed first and foremost by the affordability for the good food on offer. The setting is lovely, very bright and fresh, staff were very attentive too. All in all the experience was very good and I will be back for seconds in the future.

Eddie Rockets (Swords)
Main StreetSwords, Swords, Dublin

Eddie Rockets is a tad overpriced to me. Service in Swords is prompt but the diner is a bit dingy and could do with a coat of paint. The day I ate there before a cinema trip I was so hungry that I read the menu but didn't pay enough attention to the description following the Moby Dick burger (which is fish and not beef! my mistake)… Freshly made shakes are great too and the foot long hotdog filled me right up. Give Eddie Rockets a try, a different take on fast food.

Rasam
18-19 Glasthule Road, South Co. Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

What a joy my dining experience was at Rasam. We were lucky enough to have a voucher from Menu Pages and were by no means disappointed. With a busy main street outside this first floor restaurant you'd expect to hear traffic sounds but it isn't the case, totally blocked out. A tip for those possibly dining there soon is the Rasam Platter Starter is a really nice starter. Rasam is deserving of its Bridgestone guide status. The staff were attentive and offered their own advice when ordering to a novice like myself. All in all a complete delight and I'm looking forward to my next visit already
