I'm sure that there must be other resturants in Cork that are as good but I keep going back to Scoozis. The food is delicious and you are never rushed even though it's always busy, top marks to the staff.

Mocha Cafe & Restaurant (Kilkenny)
84 High Street, Kilkenny City, Kilkenny

What a charming place, the little ribbon boutique and the chocolate shop on the way throught to the cafe are just lovely. There are loads of books scattered about so you can look while having a coffee or waiting if liked. The atmosphere is really different. The menu was varied and they included gluten free choices, and a menue for the chocolates should you so wish. The food was well presented, we both had the goats cheese and carmalised onion tart (lovely crispy pastry and plenty of cheese), with red cabbage salad (a bit too much vinegar for me) and a portion of giant chips which were truly delicious. Well worth a visit.

Bellissimo Pizza Pasta
3 Beech House Dunmore Road, Waterford City, Waterford

Visited for Satuarday afternoon lunch, we had Panni, Tagatelli Carbonana, chicken wrap and garlice bread which were all nice, particullary the garlic bread which was kind of rustic bread filled with garlic butter, The staff were efficient and very friendly they catered well for children.

Azzurro
Dunmore East, Dunmore East, Waterford

Ate here Sunday afternoon during Dunmore East's Fish, Food & Fun festival. There was a special menu that I suppose might be called a tasting menu for €27.50 per person which allowed each person to pick 2 starters, 2 mains, 1 side, 1 dessert and tea/coffee, good value as the portion sizes were generous. We had buchetta, rocket salad, marinated olives & bean salad for starters, mains were hake x 2, aubergine bake & chirozo sausage, sides were garlic & rosemary roast potatoes & salad, dessert was profiteroles & choc brownies all of which were delicious mediterranean dishes, in my opinon, and eating outside in the sunshine only added to the enjoyment. The staff were efficient, friendly and nothing was too much trouble even though there were extremely busy. Overall I've been here before and will be back again.

Greenacres Restaurant
Selskar, Wexford, Wexford Town, Wexford

Went here last Sat evening with my friend for a catch up, really liked the atmosphere, the wines lining the walls in shelves, the big windows onto the square provide excellent people watching. The menu was varied I had potato/cheese starter followed by black sole, my friend goats cheese and the duck, the veg was perhaps a little uninspiring but was fresh with a good variety. the wine list had as expected a huge choice including the price range. For dessert we had the wild berry mousse and a cheeseboard, which consisted of a good selection of mature cheese most of which was a bit strong for our taste but non the less very well presented. Service seemed a bit off (starters not cleared when main course arrived, the waiter didn't know what the cheese selection was - she did in fairness offer to find out - we had to ask for the bread) however, the staff were so friendly and warm that it wasn't as noticable as it might have been otherwise. Overall I'd highly recommend it and I'll be back to try the taste menu.

Hodson Bay Hotel
Roscommon Road, Athlone, Westmeath

Sunday lunch, no trays at the carvery, no staff to ask for one. The restaurant/conservatory was packed but but nobody clearing tables or wiping down as people left (I had to clear a table to the window sill and attempt to wipe down the table with a napkin and when we left the dishes were still there). The food selection to be fair was good and the sauce on the salmon nice but the veg were tired and mushy, couldn't get served at the bar either. Such a shame because the location is so beautiful and it wouldn't take much to vastly improve it but I won't be back in a rush.

O'Nuaills Bistro
Stanville Lodge Hotel, Barntown, Barntown, Wexford

Had lunch here on Sun, missed the carvery as it finished at 3pm but bar food started at 3.45pm, the staff were all very efficient and friendly, great selection and very well priced, wasn't expecting such quality but the food was lovely. Catfish in a beautiful herby batter with lovely fat chips and a well dressed salad, the chicken in pepper sauce didn't disappoint nor did the omlette, good childrens menu also, the only thing I could comment on to improve it was the decor/soft furnishings which could do with a bit of a freshen as they are a bit tired looking. Overall well worth a visit for value for money

Christys Grill Bar
Blarney Woollen Mills Hotel. Blarney, Blarney, Cork

Ate here on Sat evening I had the salmon which had a very nice cream sauce, good selection of vegtables and potatoes too. The atmosphere was pelasant but the fire could have done with been turned on as it was a small bit chilly, good choice of desserts too.

The Old Thatch
Killeagh, Killeagh, Cork

Stopped in for something on a Friday afternoon with a group, the food is pub grub with a good choice and good standard, the service helpful and friendly and it was busy for 4pm on a Friday afternoon, nice place I'd go back.

Emilianos Ristorante Italiano
21 High st, Waterford, Waterford City, Waterford

Had the early bird here on Friday night, plenty of choice, I had bruchetta which was very flavoursome and also pasta with Mediterranean veg, huge portion, for dessert and pancakes with lemon cream cheese filling and ice-cream I wasn't sure what to expect but the combination of the creamy cheese and the sharp lemon within the pancake was delicious. My friend had soup and chicken and the tiramisu and was very satisfied also. The restaurant was full at 7pm and the atmosphere was lovely as there was a buzz of chatter but it wasn't intrusive. Overall very enjoyable.

Circle Of Friends
High st, Inistioge, Inistioge, Kilkenny

Passing through on a freezing cold sunday called in for a light bite, I had longing for homemade soup with brown bread unfortunatly the only one they had was bacon and turnip!!! (or swede as the menu said) after much debate I went for it, it was a lovely consistency, hot and obviously home made but just bacon and turnip is just not for me, the brown bread however was plentiful and did the trick. My friend had a ham and brie toasted sandwich which was lovely with the brie oozing out. I've been here before the food is lovely, desserts beautiful, maybe next time they will have a more appetising (according to me) soup.

La Boheme
2 George Street, Waterford City, Waterford

Ate here on a Friday evening with some friends, from the minute you walk in you are looked after the staff were very efficient without being obtrusive, the food was delicious, we all had the goats cheese and fig starter, two had steak and I had guinea fowl which was served with a delicious sauce. The dessert of pineapple was light and wonderfully presented. Most of the tables were full and although we booked early we were not hurried for another sittin, the €35 menu is very good value I felt. If I had to pick a fault it would be the draughts although as it is a cellar in an old house it's perhaps not unexpected.

Et Voila
8 Irishtown, New Ross, Wexford

Made a late booking on Sat afternoon and got a table but was told it was booked already for 9.30 which was fine and far more acceptable than not being told and just hurried through the meal (which we weren't, we had a very relaxed meal). I had scallops and crispy pork belly which complimented each other wonderfully in taste and texture, the goats cheese starter was also delicious from the tiny morsel I was permitted to taste. We were served a wonderful ginger/orange/cranberry drink between starter and mains, very refreshing. The sea bass was cooked to perfection and the mashed potatoes were wonderful. The beef was also lovely and tender even though it was very well done, a rare combination. We could only manage one dessert a trio of chocolate mousse which was served with a homemade almond biscuit and some fruit. The staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive, we were seated near the door which raised a few doubts at first but due to the double door arrangement it wasn't cold even though there was a lot of traffic. The only downside, I thought was the selection of wines, the choice was great but the range of prices verged on the high side, I felt. Still I will return.

Sqigl Seafood Restaurant
Quay Road, Duncannon, Duncannon, Wexford

Sqigl restaurant has had a few changes of chef since it opened some have been more interesting than others, it's been a while since I was there so wasn't sure what to expect when we went on Sat night, I need not have been concerned the present chef's food ticked all the right boxes, Chicken liver pate appetisers and a tiny little berry sorbet along with gingerbread petit fours all extra to the menu, and all delicious but the star of the show for me was the pan fried hake with a creamy prawn sauce, delicious. The beef was tender and the salads with the starters were excellent. The staff are friendly and efficient particularly the maitre d', I won't leave it as long to go back next time.

The Brasserie
Arundel Square Waterford, Waterford City, Waterford

Cheap and cheerful food, plenty of it too, the children are provided with crayons and their menu has a picture to be coloured. We had the nachos to share to start which were lovely, and the warm chicken salad is huge, the potato cakes were lovely. The fish of the day was cod fillets but when they arrived at the table they appeared to be more goguons. The staff were friendly and helpful and the only downside is the place seems a little "greasy/grimy" from the tables to the floors, please hot soapy water every now and again not just the spray and cloth to wipe down.

The Silver Fox Seafood Restaurant
Crossfarnogue, Kilmore Quay, Kilmore, Wexford

Stopped in for the early bird on a Sunday evening, the early menu is varied and good value, we were served a pre starter soup and the bread was delicious. I had plaice and it is a while since I tasted fish so fresh, the steak was very tender and a varied child's menu also. Apple crumble was lovely and served with custard and cream, just the right temperature. The only minus was the service as a little slow at times but there was a large party there and we had an impatient child which probably influnenced my perception of that! A good place to visit if you like seafood and the meat lovers will be well catered for also.

Drinagh Hotel & Farmers Kitchen
Drinagh, Wexford, Drinagh, Wexford

Toasted sandwich was lovely and crispy with salad, my friend had the beef chassuer which was plentiful but the veg were a little tired looking. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Jack Whites Inn
Jack Whites Cross Brittas Bay, Wicklow Town, Wicklow

A huge plate of rather tasteless food, so much on the plate that it put me off, cheese on the garlic chicken was like rubber and I'm not quite sure why it was there! The amount of food served made it value for money but a half portion would be sufficent unless you hadn't eaten all day. Service was fast but not overly friendly.

BRASS Bar & Grill
Talbot Hotel Stillorgan, Stillorgan Road, South Dublin, Stillorgan, Dublin

Visited on a Sat afternoon for lunch, please if something is no longer on the menu mention it at the start rather than choose it and then have to choose something else. I had steak and my friend had chicken both were nice, the desserts were a bit of a let down, cheesecake was a bit dull and the meringue was tasteless but the strawberries were lovely and juicy and not cold from the fridge and therefore tasteless like so many other places. Our waitress was extremely pleasant and very helpful. overall a bit hit and miss experience.

The Robert Paul Restaurant @ Arlington Lodge
John's Hill, Waterford City, Waterford

We had the early bird menu here, 3 courses for €24.50 steak was €5 extra but well worth it. We visited on a beautiful sunny evening and ate outside, what an oasis of calm in the middle of the city. Our waiter was excellent we were asked before each course if we would like to move inside even when he served the tea/coffee. Great value, food and service, well worth a visit.

City Bar & Grill @ The Kilkenny Hibernian Hotel
1 Ormonde Street, Kilkenny City, Kilkenny

We visited on a busy Satuarday afternoon, lots of families dining out but relaxed atmosphere. The fish cakes were delicious and the service impressed. We will be back.

Strand Tavern
Duncannon, New Ross, Wexford

We ate here late on a Sunday afternoon unfortunately the only tables left were under the giant TV screen and taking into account it is a pub - please turn off the telly when the sports are over. The food on the other hand was good quality pub food, tender beef, large childrens portions which would satisify two smaller children with one portion, well presented desserts but what were raisins doing in my rhubarb and apple crumble? even if they were fine plump juicy ones. Also a mention for the barman, very efficient and friendly with time for a chat, overall just the thing after coming off the beach on a Sunday evening.

profile_review

The Pepperstack Bistro @ Rosies Bar
Lower Aghada, Aghada, Cork

It was late on a Sat evening when we visited so perhaps it was to be expected that we waited ages for a table and then ages to get our food but I didn't expect to feel rushed when we did get the food. The menu was varied with a really good choice, the salmon was delicious but I must agree with the last review, the veg were a little on strange side - potatoes so hot that I suspect they were overheated in the microwave, once they did cool down they were very creamy and fluffy but I was finished the main course then. I'll go back at a slightly less busy time as their seafood is very well prepared.

profile_review

Fulacht Fiadh Restaurant
Irish National Heritage Park, Ferrycarrig, Wexford, Wexford Town, Wexford

Had Sunday lunch after walking around the park, good choice of dishes even thought it was late when we dined, the sauce on the salmon was delicious and a plus for the toasted scattered on the veg, generous portions and big jugs of water that you could help yourself to without having to ask for a top up all the time. Clean and warm with things for children to colour and children friendly staff. I'll be back.

profile_review

The Yard Restaurant
3 Lower George Street, Wexford Town, Wexford

Dined as part of a large group, the service was top class without making anything seem rushed and we all received our courses at the same time. The rissotto is delicious, creamy and light, marinated pork was also lovely but why stir fried veg with main courses that were not oriential based? they were lovely veg but the soya sauce overpowered everything else on the plate and a bowel of potatoes would have been a welcome addition to the main course I felt. It was an enjoyable meal but not enough to make me return if I were choosing the venue.

Kehoe's Pub & Parlour - Closed
Kilmore Quay, Co Wexford, Kilmore, Wexford

Lovely fire lighting on a cold day, the staff are informed, helpful and cheery. Good varied menu to choose from and generous portions but the toilets let it down somewhat, a bit of a face lift is needed along with an airfreshner (if I had gone in before I'd eaten it might have made me reconsider), it's a shame as other than that it's a lovely place.

profile_review

Terrace Cafe
Powsercourt, Enniskerry, Powerscourt, Wicklow

Beautiful place with lovely views over the countryside and I am aware that a Sunday afternoon in December would be busy, we finally found a free table after a little bit of searching which was cleared promptly by the staff. Although the quality of the food was without fault it was very expensive at €16 for scone, soup, tea and soft drink.

profile_review

Springsteen
12 Commercial Quay., Wexford Town, Wexford

Lovely layout, friendly staff and a varied menu to choose from, the steak was lovely and burger was just right. Lovely chips as mentioned before and everything was very fresh, on the downside the music was just a little on the loud side making conversation a little hard, no chance of anyone overhearing your conversation yesterday as a previous review said. Also found the TV screens distracting but that could have been just me.

Maxim House
8 O'Connell Street, Waterford City, Waterford

Blast from the past going here and it hasn't really changed in decor much, food is much like any other chinese but the service was excellent, well done on that.

profile_review

Limeleaf Restaurant
Henrietta Street, The Quays, Waterford City, Waterford

Had dinner with a group, service was a bit slow, waiter/waitress could indeed smile a bit more but the food was lovely, cocktails served by very friendly staff member. Enjoyed it.

Very family friendly, nothing too much trouble, service here is excellent and very good value. Try the starter for two, delicious.

Aldridge Lodge
Duncannon, New Ross, Duncannon, Wexford

This is my 3rd review of Aldridge (I can't review it everytime I eat there as nobody else would be able to post one) still the best restaurant in wexford and beyond, food (goats cheese, fish, and oh the brown bread), service, value all perfect. Just go.
