Farm Restaurant (Dawson Street)
3 Dawson Street, Dublin 2, Dawson Street, Dublin

I love the Farm. It's casual but nice and not cheap and cheerful - you could wear anything from your sunday best to jeans and runners and feel ok. Nice atmosphere. Lovely food. The chicken wings are soooo tasty, though I wish they had been crispier. Four of us ate here on the special menu, the value was amazing and we were all pleased with every dish we had. I would definitely go again - especially as they put in the effort to source organic and local produce. Really good.

Maximilians Bistro
Superquinn Shopping Centre, Dublin 15, Blanchardstown, Dublin

I've never given 5 before, but I could not find fault with Maximilians. The food was delicious, the service was fantastic; live music was great - especially the solo guitar player. Menu is fab. JusI had a Sole dish which was one the best fish dishes I have had - and I know my fish. My husband had a pasta dish that was just so delicious, and our starters were divine. Oh just go!

De Brúns
Ashleigh Centre, Main Street, Castleknock, Dublin

Had our Christmas party here and I have to say it was excellent, even though it was packed out with Christmas parties and it was a set menu. The set menu had good choice, was great value, they managed to keep up a good level of service (i must re-iterate it was really busy!). The atmosphere actually fantastic and loads of people were dancing (yes, including us I'm afraid!) to the live music, which apparently they have every saturday. One small gripe is that our bill was wildy incorrect, but the did correct that very quickly, and again, they were very busy, so no harm no foul. Would go back for sure.

Dakota
South William Street, South William Street, Dublin

Well, Saturday lunch in an Irish pub ahs changed alot in the last 20 years - for one thing, it's not liquid! Food was really nice, and great ideas for dishes. We had a fish strew, which was lovely but slightly overpowered with fennel, and grilled salmon on a bed of curried chickpeas, which could have been more curried - but over all, very nice, and very different. Oh, and they do the BEST CHUNKY CHIPS IN DUBLIN!!!!

Port House Pintxo
12 Eustace Street, Dublin 2, Temple Bar, Dublin

Ate here last Saturday night, the service was excellent, it's a really nice if slightly ramshackle place in parts. We had a great time, most of the food was really lovely, but I have to say the Paella was pretty tasteless, calamares overdone. Prawns pil pil were a triumph however, as was the choclotae fudge cake. Yum!

Hugo's Restaurant at Druids Glen Resort
Druids Glen Resort, Newtownmountkennedy, Wicklow

Stayed here on a DBB deal - best Fish and Chips EVER in the bar! Dinner was delicious, but if you don't have kids with be absolutely sure to book a table down by the windows in the conservatory part of the restaurant, the rest of the restaurant is a bit too family oriented if you want a relaxed atmosphere. Four of us ate, all loved it.

Captain America's Blanchardstown
Unit 40 Blanchardstown, Retail Park 2 Extension Dublin, West Dublin, Blanchardstown, Dublin

Server was lovely, atmosphere fairly typical of that type of place, but come on, the food is really not good at all. Anybody could do better than that! I think they need to try a bit harder.....

Novo
Harry Street, St Stephens Green, Dublin

Really nice menu, and though it doesn't look very inviting form outside it's actually really nice inside. Staff are great, actually got to use my Menupages points which was fab, but I have to say I have had better fish and chips, which is a shame as it's such a good lunch staple - I just don't understand why somewhere would not make nice, real, homemade chunky chips? so easy! I'll go again but try something else.

Wagamama's Blanchardstown
Unit 410, First Floor, Blanchardstown Retail Park 2, Dublin 15, Blanchardstown, Dublin

Eaten here a few times as we're fairly local to it; basically fairly bright, cheap and cheerful; fast and reasonably healthy, tasty food. Can't go too wrong, but not a romantic lingering dining experience! :-) We've had a couple of great member offers from them like buy on get one free thats great for a quick mid week meal.

Cornucopia
19/20 Wicklow Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Yes, Cornucopia is pretty nice. the salads are lovely; the food is healthy and good. It is much better now that it's bigger; I would love to see veggie food in dublin move out of serve-yourself-cafe style into something a little more chic; I would think Cornucopia would be in a good position to achieve that. As other reviewers said the queuing at the counter thing isn't great.

Brasserie Sixty6
66/67 Great South Georges Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

We had Brunch here and it was really nice; husband very impressed with home-made baked beans; eggs florentine were great, sides yummy. Service was not great but they needed at least one more person, so who knows if they are habitually understaffed or someone was out sick? I'd go back again anyway and give it a go as i did enjoy the food and the evening menu looks great.

22 Bar & Restaurant (Castleknock Hotel)
Castleknock Hotel Porterstown Road, Dublin 15, Castleknock, Dublin

Went to the castleknock hotel for lunch mid week and was very surprised by the lack of choice; they just had a big carvery available basically, which was overpriced and not everyones cup of tea. We had salmon which was nice enough but swimming in butter, and accompanied with the usual cooked to the point of death carvery vegetables. I wouldn't go running back but it was ok.

Swai Restaurant
Unit B, The Campshires, North Wall Quay, City Centre North, Dublin

I've been wanting to try Swai for ages as I love Malaysian food and you can't really get it here. Four of us had Dinner on Saturday and we all loved it, everything was completely delicious. The service was second to none and they were happy to make substitutions; for instance the beef rendang with the worlds biggest prawns instead - HIGHLY recommended! The view is gorgeous (book a table on the river) and it's undeservedly very quiet, which is great for some and I guess not so good for others. We all loved it - Yum!

Gourmet Burger Kitchen - GBK (South William Street)
14 South William Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Lovely Burgers, great value on the any burger for €5.00 offer. unfortunately last time we went it was so busy we waited nearly hour for our food, and they even refused service to some people. The service isn't amazing, but if you're hungry and they look busy maybe ask how long first....

Cafe Fresh
Top Floor Powerscourt Townhouse Centre, City Centre South, Dublin

I think Fresh is just great, and you don't need to be veggie to love it. The food is lovely, and the prices are great. I do think though that it wouldn't take a lot to make the decor / ambience a little better, and I wish they would! it could even be a great option for the evening or a nice brunch with a bit of a touch up.

Phoenix Park Cafe
Grounds of the Visitor's Centre, Parkgate Street, Dublin

Had a really nice lunch here - I didn't even know it existed before! It's self service, nice side salads, some quiches/tarts, paninis - some lovely looking cakes, pies, scone which I enjoyed looking at - I didn't give in to temptation but they look really good.... small cafe, lots of space outside, nice option if in you're in the park.

profile_review

The House
4 Main Street, West Dublin, Howth, Dublin

second time having lunch here - had a lovely special which was fish and chips, exceptionally good chips. nice menu, nice place, good choice, but not much in the way of veggie options unless you feel like salad.

profile_review

The Larder Restaurant
8 Parliament Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I had brunch here with a friend recently and I have to say I wasn't blown away - my friend really enjoyed hers though so I have to give points for that as she's an excellent cook! Service good, place is nice, brunch was just nice.

Toscana City Centre
3 Cork Hill, Dame Street (opposite Dublin Castle), Dublin City Centre, Dublin 2, Temple Bar, Dublin

Had nice meals here a couple of times now. It's pretty laid back and the service is good, the food is really tasty. It's great for a quick early meal on your way to something, or we've lingered a bit longer too, so it can be fairly romantic :-)

profile_review

L'Ecrivain Restaurant
109a Lower Baggot Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Had a really lovely time here and a delicious meal :-) The service was fab if a little overwhelming at first, when it got busier they backed off a bit. My husband was ecstatic about his monkfish, everything was good; especially teh 'pre dessert' they brought us and the petit fours :-) There was a bit of a delay at the start when they didn't have a veggie menu printed out, which was dealt with honestly and professionally, and even though the manager wasn't obviously present at the time he brought the bill at the end and very nicely apologised and took our starters off the bill - which took the sting out of it a bit! Would definitely go back.

Kinara Restaurant
318 Clontarf Road, North Co. Dublin , Clontarf, Dublin

Nice restaurant, very nice food. It took a long time to have lunch there though. People rave about it but even though I thought it was very nice I wouldn't go crazy over it. You won't be dissapointed though :-)

Siam Thai (Dundrum)
Dundrum Town Centre, South Dublin, Dundrum, Dublin

Our waiter was very very nice indeed but when I asked if there was chicken in the soup I was told no - there was. it happened with two different soups. we were waiting maybe two hours all told for our food, which was delicious when it came, but it took too long and it was a bit pricey.

profile_review

TGI Friday (Blanchardstown)
Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, Dublin 15, Blanchardstown, Dublin

Average American style place, we all enjoyed our food such as it was, but it is way overpriced for what it is. Good service, child friendly.

profile_review

Casa Pasta (Clontarf)
55 Clontarf Road, Dublin 3, Clontarf, Dublin

Went here for lunch and it has very cheap and cheerful cafe style decor but doesn't really have prices to match. We waited for 40 minutes for our food and then they had messed up my sister in laws' pizza and had to start again! I had Thai Veg curry which was lovely and they put in extra chillis for me, the pizza was very lovely when it came, all in all we had a nice time.

profile_review

Avoca Handweavers
Kilmacanogue, Bray, Bray, Wicklow

This place is just lovely, a really nice stop off. On a nice day make sure to sit out on the terrace, it's just gorgeous. We had the buffet lunch and it has a good range, veggie friendly and lots of goodies. Nice service.

profile_review

Delhi Darbar
Unit 5,6,7, Clonee Court, Main Street, Clonee, Dublin

We didn't eat in Delhi Darbar, we got food to go and while the prices are extremely good I have to say that I have had much, much better Indian food. I feel bad saying it but it really wasn't great :-(

profile_review

Mao Restaurant (Chatham Row)
2-3 Chatham Row, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Pretty nice, almost cheap and cheerful; we actually had pretty good service. I'd give it four stars but if I think about the restaurants I( would give 4 or 5 to it has to be 3 really. Anyway the food was very nice indeed very tasty, we had a good time. Reasonably priced, good range of choice, and very veggie friendly.

profile_review

Indie Spice Grill
Burgundy House, New Street, North Co. Dublin, Swords, Dublin

Oh dear, thats terrible for Siobhan and family in the most recent review.... Don't let it turn you off! I had food from here and I don't rate it as far as Indians go at all; not very tasty, not very spicy; not very authentic. One thing was good - the chilli nann. The paratha ( akind of bread ) I had was heavy, doughy and undercooked. I also had channa masala which usually lovely, tasty, spicy and saucy and it was bland, dry and strange. Yet some people seem to rave about it. There are much better indians around!

The Cellar Restaurant
The Merrion Hotel, Upper Merrion Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Ed Cooney is an outstanding chef. We had our wedding in the merrion and the food was incredible. Ate in the cellar a couple of times, had an amazing dinner, had an ok lunch, while my companion had an amazing lunch. The food in general is fantastic, afternoon tea is amazing, but one protion will feed two no problem. I don't think it's as expensive as it seems, it's 30 for afternoon tea, but between two it's ok (not if you pay for two though!); you can get a reasonably priced but very very good lunch... it's a great place with fantastic staff.

profile_review

Wagamama - Stephen's Green
St Stephen's Green Centre, South King St, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

If you're looking for a quick tasty dinner with fast service this is the place to go. It's not a romantic spot, but it's a good one.

profile_review

Odessa
13 Dame Court, Dublin, City Centre South, Dublin

Still my absolute favourite brunch spot ever, the eggs florentine are just lovely, and I asked them to add some smoked salmon to mine - they happily obliged. Why not on the menu folks? It's a thing..... Yum. Must go back soon.....

profile_review

Shanahan’s on the Green
119 St. Stephens Green, Dublin , City Centre South, Dublin

Shanahans is fabulous, been there a few times it's all about meat, but they do make something up for veggies specially. The staff are everything you would expect for 5 stars, but very relaxed and unobtrusive. Yes, it's really expensive but you are paying to have your table nearly ten feet away from the next table - that's priceless.

profile_review

Aurora Asian Cuisine
Unit 5, Block C , Tyrrelstown Town Centre, Dublin 15, Tyrrelstown, Dublin

Haven't been here in a long while, but it's pretty consistent - the menu was exactly the same; the staff were all the same as two years before! It's very nice, good service, good food, bill always seems to end up a little on the steep side though.

profile_review

Ukiyo
7-9 Exchequer Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Had lunch here it was really good, very cheap. It's basically a Korean restaurant, had a lovely traditional dish there that was the kind of thing you crave afterwards. Just noticed another reviewer was disappointed in a dessert, but ethnic restaurants are not the place for desserts I find.

profile_review

Yamamori Noodles
71-72 South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Had lunch here last week, and every time I eat here I remember how poor the service is! The food is great, the staff are lovely, but I haven't been to any other Japanese restaurants that bring each persons food out at a different time; or leave you waiting 45 minutes for your lunch. I don't understand why they can't work on bringing out the food at the same time, or doing orders as they come in - many people who came in after us were served before we were. next time I'll remember to go elsewhere...

profile_review

Jaipur Restaurant (Ongar)
Unit 35 and 39, Main Street, Ongar village, Dublin 15, Clonee, Dublin

Have eaten here a couple of times, it's really really good - I've eaten in a lot of indian restaurants around the world and this is very good, very fresh food. I had a Paneer Jalfrezi there that was just delicious; Jalfrezi means 'quick' but it's obviously a pre-prepared sauce in many indians, not so here, it was very freshly cooked and tasty. Early bird special is great value, and a really good menu.

profile_review

Eden
Meeting House Square, Temple Bar, Dublin

Ate here with my husband and two friends on Sunday night, and it was very nice; we all enjoyed our food and nobody had any complaints - more than you can say for most restaurants. Having said that it was unremarkable at the same time - I think it lacks in ambience. Asked the waiter to recommend dessert and he didn't disappoint; we had a really fabulous little chocolate number which hadn't stood out on the menu but is well worth and extra few hundred calories :-)
