i have been here numerous times and could never fault their vegetarian option...........until now. they've changed it from a fabulous puff pastry, potato, cheese concoction with a gorgeous sauce to a carrot (yes a carrot) wrapped in puff pastry. to charge over €16.00 for this is an insult. there were twists & balls of carrot arranged around the plate also but no amount of artistic decoration could take from the fact that this fabulous chef was happy to serve a single carrot wrapped in pastry as an acceptable main course. as i was there to treat a friend for her birthday i didn't want to complain & just mentioned it quietly to the waitress after paying the bill and she said she would inform the chef. to add insult to injury my other dining companions got served vegetables on the side but that was my lot - not satisfactory by a long shot. poor veggies need to be catered for and i thought i'd found the place to put a bit of thought into the food but i was sadly mistaken. until they put the original vegeterian main (or something more filling than a single carrot) back on the menu i'm afraid i won't be back. service was appalingly slow also - we weren't in any hurry but the place was by no means full so this could be an even worse problem if it was full to capacity. hope the name change doesn't mean things are changing too much!

Jaipur Restaurant (Malahide)
5 St James's Terrace, Dublin 15, Malahide, Dublin

hadn't been here in a long time and had forgotten how wonderful the food is.it was mothers day and the menu was amazing value-had another return visit on the 3rd of this month and had a wonderful selection of vegetarian dishes (four in total) and each one was wonderful (the spinach one wasn't really to my liking but that's just personal taste). the service was extremely professional but not too over-attentive which can irritate-they have the balance just right. wonderful food-well worth a visit

SALE e PEPE
The Diamond, Main Street, North Co. Dublin, Malahide, Dublin

Always a delight to eat here-being vegetarian I can be let down sometimes but this restaurant is wonderful and the service is always outstanding. Even though it was a Tuesday night the place was very busy and had a great atmosphere. They will always offer a drink on the house which is a lovely touch even though we declined. I even queried the bill as I thought they hadn't charged us for the coffees but they were included with the desserts! It is a real value-for-money restaurant where the food is very good and the experience is always enjoyable!

the vegetarian main course was the best i have ever had. baked potato with gubeen cheese sounds ordinary but is to die for and beautifully presented. my non-veggie dining companions were very satisfied also. this food is michelin-star quality and while a little bit pricey (didn't think my dish was expensive but 23..95 for two courses early bird is not cheap and menu is quite limited) it is well worth it.definitely worth ordering from the a la carte menu. could not fault the service either - well worth a visit!

Pacifico Restaurant & Grill
Marine Court, The Green, Malahide, Malahide, Dublin

this place was such a disappointment! we ate there one sunday evening after hearing it was absolutely dreadful when it opened first but were hoping it had imroved - it hadn't. this is not mexican food as i know it. i ordered vegetarian fajitas - the vegetables came with no spices or seasoning - bland, bland, bland. there was a bottle of spicy sauce left on the table-i presume this was to add the spice but it didn't do the trick. three tiny ramekins accompanied the dish-grated cheese, chopped tomato & onion (not proper salsa) and some sour cream. there wasn't even enough for one fajita. it was absolutely dreadful. keep away!
