Having eaten in some of the Brambles cafes I was shocked when I was invited out to Brambles for dinner. Despite my disappointment the venue choice, I went along and wow was I in for a shock. Don't compare this Brambles to the cafes in the shopping centres. It is a proper restaurant. The atmosphere was great and the decor was lovely. I was so impressed with that! The vegetarian options were nice. I had the veg bake - not the most original choice (better than the typical pasta and tomato sauce though). Once it cooled to a reasonable temperature (I'm not complaining about that - rather it too hot than too cold!) it was very tasty. The start was fantastic. I will definitely go back again.

Cafe Paradiso
16 Lancaster Quay, Cork City, Cork

I have been dying to go to this restaurant for a few years now and finally got to Cork last weekend. It was definitely worth the trip! I had sushi and tempura for my starter - it was lovely and excellently rolled. My partner had beetroot (I think) and goat's cheese tartlet, which was absolutely amazing. For mains I had braised chard timbale of roast tomato, haloumi & puy lentils with new potatoes, saffron-hazelnut butter and green beans. It was absolutely delicious. I can't remember what he had for mains - I was too busy enjoying mine. The presentation was excellent on everything. I had two disappointments in the restaurant. The desserts just didn't appeal to me. My partner got a dessert which looked fantastic. It tasted pretty average. Normally, I suppose, that would be fine but I expected so much more by then! My other problem was with the heat! I couldn't stop thinking about how hot it was and I was looking forward to leaving for some fresh air. Looking at other people, I know I wasn't alone sweating. Anyway, overall it was well worth the trip. The food is beautiful. The chefs are very talented. Next time I'll ask for a table outside. :)

Saba
26-28 Clarendon Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I can't wait to get back there! I went for lunch with friends on a Saturday. The food was fantastic. Portions are quite large. For E16 there was a 2 course lunch menu - this might sound more expensive than some but it is well worth the extra couple of euro. The portions are generous. And I can't say enough about the quality of food! The staff were great. They helped with my buggy on arrival and departure. They let us sit and chat without rushing us out after we finished and were polite and helpful the whole time. I will definitely look forward to going back. :)

Stable Diet Cafe
stable diet cafe, 100 southmain street, wexford, Wexford Town, Wexford

A lovely cafe. It seemed to be busy nearly all the time - a good sign. :) The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was lovely and is great value. I would definitely go back.

Fulacht Fiadh Restaurant
Irish National Heritage Park, Ferrycarrig, Wexford, Wexford Town, Wexford

I was surprised to see so many people coming in just to eat and not visit the park - definitely a good sign. It is hard to rate the service in a self service restaurant but they did clean the tables promptly when vacated. There was a nice selection of food. The stew looked delicious, although I didn't have it. There was plenty of space and nicely decorated. It is definitely a classier cafe. The coffee let it down though. It was served far too hot and didn't taste the best, although freshly brewed for each cup.

Le Tire Bouchon
112 south main street, Wexford Town, Wexford

What a fantastic restaurant! We ate here this time last year when we visited Wexford and rushed back this time. We didn't realise it was under new ownership. It is better than the old restaurant (and we were really impressed with the old one.) The service is absolutely brilliant - friendly without being intrusive and so professional. The food is fantastic. My husband is still talking about the wild boar terrine starter. They catered well for vegetarians - I had soup of the day (coconut and sweet potato) and for mains goats cheese tartlets with rocket salad. The dessert was delicious. We had a lovely bottle of wine, which was served at the perfect temperature. I know where my first stop in Wexford will be next time!

Farm Restaurant (Dawson Street)
3 Dawson Street, Dublin 2, Dawson Street, Dublin

I had lunch here a couple of days ago. Prices were good, atmosphere was a bit dead however. The service was very efficient and friendly. The vegetarian menu was not particularly inspiring. I thought it would have something a bit different as they advertise vegetarian food. There evening menu is a bit more extensive for vegetarians though. You can get the typical pasta with tomato, stuffed peppers, stir fry etc. I would go back but won't be rushing.

Cactus Jacks (Middle Abbey St)
Millennium Walkway, Middle Abbey Street, City Centre North, Italian Quarter, Dublin

I was here a couple of weeks ago and really liked it. I wouldn't be a huge fan of Mexican but really did enjoy my meal. Slightly spicy for me... but that is just me! :) The veggie enchilada was delicious and very filling. Their drinks were pretty good too! We all left happy and I will def go back.

Cornucopia
19/20 Wicklow Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

As a vegetarian I love this place. I've been a long visiting customer. I often go here with my friends, 1 of whom is coeliac. There are lots of options for us both. I am loving the cakes there lately. There seem to be more options than in the past. I would def recommend the orange and almond gluten free cake. It looks amazing and tastes just the same! :) The only downside is the seating but I think it is worth it!
