An Poitin Stil restaurant
Naas Road, Rathcoole, Dublin, Area Code: West Co. Dublin
Reviewed 09th April 2014 ( visited 02nd March 2014 )Came here for dinner (carvery) with my partner. Had been before when the bar menu was on and was impressed with the food! This time around however was a completely different story! We went to the counter and I asked (my usual as a vegetarian) what the veggie option was. They said I can make you up a stirfry... I was happy with this and went to the table with my partner (and his food as always I have to wait!) When the food finally arrived it was a bowl of watery oil with onions and a scattered few peppers (that was it!) not another veg in sight. I didnt want to kick up a fuss as it was date day and I just wanted to enjoy our day out but as soon as my other half excused himself to go to the bar I put my bowl aside and asked the waitress to take it away that I was finished. I was disgusted with the level of food... Its a disgrace....
Johnnie Fox's Pub
Glencullen, Dublin Mountains, Glencullen, Dublin
Went for dinner Paddy's (Eve) with the better half. When we arrived there was a 3 piece band who were very good. They finished shortly after this when we were seated, so we had dinner during the interval of the music. The meal itself was gorgeous and go hungry they are huge portions!! I had a butter nut squash soup with home-made brown bread for starters (the bread was amazing), my partner had the pork belly which he said was nice but not wow! For mains I had the Vegetable Lasagne and he had the lamb stew, both were demolished... we were so full we could not fit any dessert so we stuck with our few drinks. A one man band came on after dinner Dave Dunne. He was great really entertaining and interactive with the crowd. The staff were great at the end of the night organising a taxi for us, overall a fabulous night with great company, food and entertainment... we'll be back!!!
Little Caesars of Rathfarnham
Rathfarnham Orchard, Butterfield Ave, South Dublin, Rathfarnham, Dublin
Normally I love the food and service in all of the little caesers restaurants but having visited last night yet again, I was extremely disappointed! As a vegetarian I usually love Italian restaraunts for the veggie choice. I personally love creamy and mushroom type sauces so I asked the waiter could I have the ravioli with the Alfredo sauce instead of pesto or tomato. He was lovely and asked the kitchen who said not problem at all. The food came out and it was lovely I must say but after this is when my disappointment kicked in. Upon receiving the bill I noticed that my partners meat dish which came with a side dish was actually cheaper than my vegetarian dish which came with no side which I had never come across as everywhere else my dish being meat free is always cheaper! Also I was charged 1.50 for the sauce which I find scandalous and ridiculous if someone had a allergy and asked for a sauce adjustment (not a dish adjustment) you charge for the pleasure I was shocked to be honest my dish cost 2.50 more than my partners and another 3.50 for my side an extra cost of €6 because I don't eat meat and I asked for a sauce which they make for a number of other dishes to be simply put onto my dish instead of the sauce on offer I won't be rushing back until someone in Caesers changes their policy of over charging for their dishes!
The Counter Dundrum
Pembroke District, (adjacent to the Mill Pond at Town Square), Dundrum, Dublin
Have been here a few times and as a veggie its great, although there is only the one option (obviously) the fact you can get so many different toppings cheeses sauces etc means I feel like Im having a different meal each time! For the price and the amount of food you get its great value, if your looking for no fuss burger joint this is the place to go!!!
Pembroke District, Dundrum Shopping Centre, Dublin 14 , Dundrum, Dublin
Been here a few times slight change to the menu the last time (used to get mushroom ravioli but had pumpkin instead) the two dishes are both fabulous (although personally I love mushrooms!) the staff are all really nice and when its not too busy are really attentive the waitress recommended the home-made lemonade and we weren't disappointed really tasty! Ill definitely be back!!
94-96 Terenure Road, Dublin 6 , Terenure, Dublin
Lovely friendly helpful staff... great food (even if we ordered WAY to much) but they were so nice and boxed the remainder up for us as takeaway! Only downside I could find was the price... I know Indians are typically expensive but this was slightly more expensive than others I've been to in the past so for that reason I would probably only recommend it to friends for a special occasion!

Browns Barn Bar and Kitchen
Citywest Exit, Citywest Bridge N7, West Dublin, Saggart, Dublin
Ive visted Browns barn before and had a disappointing meal but hey everyone has their off days, so I decided to give them another try! I opened the menu only to find there was not a single vegetarian option... I asked the server who went off to check and came back with oh you can have like potatoes and veg and that if you want, I then asked is your gravy made from the meat juices. It was so that was that option out of the running. I had to settle with mushrooms from the starter menu with chips and salad while my partner opted for the beef with potatoes veg and gravy. When the bill arrived I was charged for not only a starter but a portion of chips and a side salad (which were both I might point out tiny in size) my 'main course' therefore was more expensive than my partners large dinner. I was still hungry afterwards and my partner and I both complained to the waitress who said oh you can have something else like potatoes and veg if you want (too late we had the bill!!) nothing else was said or offered. This is the second time this had happened so needless to say I will not be eating here again!!!

The Yard Restaurant
3 Lower George Street, Wexford Town, Wexford
From the front of the restaurant it looks like a small cafe but at night time you enter through the court yard on Georges Street (left turn after the front door) and everything changes... there was a set menu of €25 pp for a 4 course meal but you can order from the main menu if you wish. I ordered Mushroom Risotto for starters and my mother ordered Soup of the day which was Pumpkin and Coriander both were gorgeous and big portions. Mains mum had the Steak which came with home made steak chips and side salad, I had Linguine (gorgeous but wrong thing to order on my part having had Risotto already very filling). A portion of stir friend vegetables also came with our meals. For dessert we had Iced Raspberry and white chocolate parfait this was devine (even full I still managed to eat every bit) The staff were fantastic polite and a credit to the restaurant. I will be recommending it to friends who are visiting Whites Hotel next weekend and to anyone else who will listen... a must do for dinner when in Wexford Town!
