Thought the food was excellent and when I thought something was a little spicy they offered to change it but I kept it as it was nice, I just prefer more mild. Lovely romantic evening out with my hubby and can't wait to go back :)

Blue Cafe Bar
Harbour Road Skerries, Skerries, Dublin

I really like Blue and it's somewhere my husband and I go whenever we can. However in the last year or so every time we go for something in particular (like their buffalo wings for instance) they're different or scrawny or the portion is smaller.....consistency would be the main issue I would have. You can't book so when you go there you are always taking the chance that you may or may not actually eat there depending on the wait! I don't find them particularly accommodating for children so we skip there for that and keep it strictly for mammy and daddy and enjoy some of their yummy cocktails as a result. When I was pregnant and we asked for a virgin cocktail (seabreeze I think) they refused to make it as they were busy and said they would but we'd have to pay full price........that nearly made me not go back but then maybe that was just one lazy bar person.

Milano (Grand Canal Harbour)
Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin

Very fond of Milanos and go as regularly as I can on date nights or to meet friends, especially when I get vouchers. My only really big complaint about here is the amount of tables they have squeezed in...if you're not on the edge there are people pushing by all the time as the tables are all on top of eachother! Aside from that I think the low cal menu is great and wish more places did this and over all the food and drink selection is fab.

The Harbour Bar (Rush)
Lower Main Street, Rush, Co. Dublin., Rush, Dublin

Love this place and will always be somewhere I will go either with friends, extended family or my own family. Caters well for kids and will do what you ask if you request a lil difference for yourself or the kids. The last couple of times I have been a lil let down but when I've gone back, whatever comment I made about the food etc was better and they are always very accommodating about switching food if its not what you expected etc. Highly recommend esp for a Sunday lunch with the kids, they really love it too.

Raffs on the Corner
65/67 Church Street, North Co. Dublin, Skerries, Dublin

I'm forever hearing such great reviews about Raffs and had been once before and wasn't all that impressed, but that was only once and was a couple of years ago soooo it was my suggestion to go here with my friend and we brought our kids for an early dinner. Firstly, I don't understand that if a restaurant is child friendly why there is no provision for kids in cutlery/glasses etc...just a suggestion but IKEA have fab, cheap, tough plastic kitchenware....(this isn't my low mark reason btw) (although I think there should be a star/rating for child/family friendly restaurants on menu pages). The adult food was mostly fab, dessert a bit under cooked but otherwise lovely as were the coffees. Our issue was with the kids food and lack of service. Adult sized plates, adult sized burger bun with a meatball sized burger in the middle, asked for a split on one of the gujons and chips (as portions were so big for 22mth olds) only to be handed a portion and a massive spare plate! Dessert for the kids...we opted for 2 adult brownies with ice-cream and I asked and explained to the waitress that we were splitting it between the 3, 5 and 2 almost 2 year olds and that if she could just split each in two onto small side plates that would be great (we were paying more than the kids desserts for this) and she said no prob and would sort it out...we were brought our dessert & coffees first, and with not much space left on the table and 4 overly excited kids, we were handed 2 massive dessert platters (beautifully presented) for the kids then the waitress had to disappear again to get more side plates, so we could split it all with a spoon as no knife provided and then try and shuffle stuff around the table so all the kids had room to eat! Not sure I'll be making a third visit!
