I just booked a table for 6 this morning for a 1pm lunch. I hadn't been in a long time as I had felt the price had gone too high compared to other offers around town. I have to say I was very impressed. The staff were lovely and friendly as usual. The food was fantastic and the new lunch special (summer salad with you choice of 'main') is a brilliant offer (€9.95). I went for the salad with the prawn curry and the two others at the table who opted for this offer chose the cod spring rolls and the tuna. They were equally as impressed. The 4th person got the Tofu Steak and the 5th and 6th got the Katsu Curry. All in all, we had a very enjoyable lunch and I will be back very soon.

Las Tapas de Lola
12 Wexford St., City Centre South, Dublin

This has to be one of the nicest places to eat in Dublin. The staff are an absolute credit to the restaurant and are not afraid to offer you advice on their dishes and steer you in the right direction. The food really really tasty with really generous portions and the whole menu is really reasonably priced. I can't wait to visit again.

Crystal Boat Restaurant
Gallery Quay, Dublin 2, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin

I was really looking forward to trying this place and had high hopes. The setting is lovely (Grand Canal) and I had visions of a lovely relaxed atmosphere, dimmed lighting, soft music.... the usual things you associate with a Chinese restaurant. This was not what I got I'm afraid. I think this restaurant caters more for its take-away trade then it does for its in-house diners. We were left a long time waiting to order and then for our food. The tables aren't set and you are just handed cutlery when the waitress can make it down to your table. No option of chopsticks and no condiments on the table. The starters were nice. The mains were ok, but not the classic cooking of the dish I ordered . I'm sorry to say that wouldn't recommend this place and I won't be revisiting, however, I wouldn't be adverse to ordering a take away from them if I happened to be in the area.

Siam Thai (Malahide)
1 The Green, North Dublin, Malahide, Dublin

This was my second visit to Siam Thai. I didn't find it as good as my previous visit. I went with my b/f mid-week for the early bird. The staff were attentive and friendly, the atmosphere was good, and the place was lovely and warm after coming in from the freezing cold. I had the combination starter which was lovely. My b/f had the chicken wings which were a bit over cooked, but nice. Main course, we went for the yellow curry and the masaman curry. Both were nice, but the portions were very small. The curries were very rich, so this may be the reason for the small portions. I was not left hungry! We had the sorbet for dessert which was lovely. The wine menu is still expensive espically for the early bird. I may go back in the future, but honestly I feel I would like to try a new place before returning to Siam Thai.

Trocadero
St Andrew Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

This was my first trip here and I was so impressed. We went for the early bird €25 per person. The selection was great and the portions were very good without being over indulgent. The waitress we had was possibly the best waitress I have ever had. She was attentive without being pushy and very helpful. I will be back very soon and I have recommended the place to a lot of friends. 5 stars.

Independent Pizza Co
28 Drumcondra Rd Lower, Dublin 9, Drumcondra, Dublin

I ate here in a group of 7 and have to say, the food is fab. The garlic and chilli pizza bread was fab. Ereryone was happy and we stayed here for ages with no funny looks! Recommended to all.

Chez Max (Palace Street)
1 Palace Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Although the atmosphere is good and I had heard a lot of good reviews, my experience here wasn't great. I went for lunch and for the Madame sandwich. The toast was totally burnt. It really was not fit to be eaten. I didn't send it back because it is a very small place and we were by far the biggest group in the place. When taking my plate away, the waitress noticed and offered me a free dessert as my lunch was burnt. I feel my lunch should have been comp'ed as well as the dessert! I personally won't be back, but my friends still love the place and will continue with regular visits!

Milano (Temple Bar)
19 East Essex Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

I went here last night with 3 other girls. We were told there was no reservations to be made and just show up. We did, and were seated in the far corner of the place downstairs. No problem - we were 4 girls looking to fill our evening with gossip!! After asking a member of staff more then twice, our order was taken. The first pizza was taken out within minutes. It was before the starter and was stopped by another member of staff and sent back. We ordered wine - the house chardoney (19.95). I am a wine drinker, but am VERY tolerant of wines. It was the most horrible wine I have ever tasted. The four of us needed a full bottle of 7up to kill the taste. Next our Pizzas came out. We still hadn't had our starters. All pizzas were taken back and we finally got out starters. We finished our starters and got the SAME pizzas back again. Ate all and I took a .'to go' box. The bill came and lets just say we were charged by the gram for the 4 additional items we wanted on our pizzas. As we were leaving, I asked for the managers contact details and was handed the business card for the place. I am drafting a complaint letter and will not be back to Milano's. A most dissapointing experience.

Kokoro Sushi Bento
19 Lower Liffey Street, City Centre North, Dublin

I'm not a fan of sushi, but when I saw this place on Menupages - both the review's and the adverts, it looked too nice to give it a miss. I was not dissapointed! I tried a few of the non adventureous sushi pieces, but had a curry from their hot dishes. It was fab and only a fiver. Perfect for dinner in these tough times!! I've passed on the name of the place to at least 10 people and they have all tried it and adored it. It would be nice to have somewhere to sit down, but the day I ate here was lovely so we went to the park. I will go again and continue to recommend the place. Well Done Kokoro Sushi Bento!!

Bamboo Cafe Thai & Chinese
46 Drumcondra Road Lower,Drumcondra,Dublin 9, Drumcondra, Dublin

I went here on Sunday evening about 8pm. I got the spare ribs for starter and the beef and black bean sauce for mains. It was amazing. Possibly the nicest black bean i have ever tasted. It's a very basic restaurant - a take away with a sitdown area. I sat down this time, but i will defo use the take away in the future. The staff are nice and the service is quick. Don't expect a fancy restaurant, but if you're looking for some tasty food at cheap prices, this is your place.

Wagamama - Stephen's Green
St Stephen's Green Centre, South King St, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Two words - steak teriaki. I love it. The servicew is fast, the staff are lovely and the food is divine. Don't go here if you want to go for a romantic meal, but if u want a good casual dinner/lunch this is the place for you. I usually stick with the steak, but I try to try something different from the entree's part each time. Keep an eye on pigs back as they often have 2 for 1 specials.

Fallon and Byrne
11-17 Exchequer Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I ate at the deli counter for lunch over the weekend. I got the chili noodles. They were fab! I got a hugh portion (that did for a snack later on as well!) I love the shop and the atmosphere of this place, although I do find it very over priced for what it is. I will go back, but only as a treat!

Good World Chinese Restaurant
18 South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

€11 for a three course meal. Thats hard to beat. And the food is amazing.I had the ribs for starters. They were over cooked, but still tasty. The black bean beef for main and a banana fritter for dessert. The service is fast and the portions are large. A place I will always recommend.

Charlies Four
8 South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I love all of the Charlie's restaurants for a post booze-up snack (or feast!!). The service is quick and efficient. The staff are not overly friendly, but that can be explained by how busy the place is at night. The food is always fresh and cooked infront of you. I am yet to have a bad experience here. I do think it's a bit pricy for a glorified take away, but it won't stop me going there!

Ciao Bella Roma
24/25 Parliament Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

We go here quite a bit for lunch. The lunch menu is very cheap, but it does reflect on the food. I like the place and will continue going there for lunch, but I would not recommend the place for a good dinner. The staff are lovely, but very often rushed off their feet due to the very busy lunch traffic. Its quick and tasty, but again, very basic.

Botticelli
3 Temple Bar, Temple Bar, Dublin

I went here for my sister birthday. We got the early bird menu before we hit the town and we all really enjoyed the meal. It is a small, but long restaurant. We set up the back, with a view of the liffey which was lovely. It was busy, but not packed and the staff were very friendly. We also mentioned menupages and got a free glass of wine each. Can't go wrong! Would recommend a visit to anyone. The one thing I would say, is a lot of people tried to get in the door that faces the liffey, but this is not an entrance. Perhaps a sign indicating where the entrance is would be helpful as it was very distracting|!!

Chilli Banana
112 Upper Drumcondra Road, North Dublin, Drumcondra, Dublin

I visited here for my Birthday recently and the food was amazing and the staff are very attentive. The place is a bit small and you feel a little bit cramped when it is busy. I do also feel it is very pricey for what you are getting. Despite the lovely food, I would be unlikely to go back again.

Koh
6-7 Jervis Street, Millennium Walkway, Dublin 1, City Centre, Italian Quarter, Dublin

I went here again last night with 4 of my friends. We had the pre theather menu. Two of the girls had been before and two hadn't. By the end of the meal, we were all stuffed to the gills and nicely merry thanks to all the vino we put away! We had 5 starters, 5 mains, 2 desserts, 4 bottles of wine and 3 cocktails and it came to a very reasonable €225. The staff were lovely and they were very attentive throughout the meal. We arrived at 6pm and didn't leave until 11pm. The staff were lovely throughout. We sat in the lounge area which I actually found nicer then the main restaruant. Very impressed again and will defo continue to recommend the place and visit again.

Toscana City Centre
3 Cork Hill, Dame Street (opposite Dublin Castle), Dublin City Centre, Dublin 2, Temple Bar, Dublin

I was very happy when I saw the place had reduced their lunch menu, but the redution shows in the food. The suppli is still fab, the staff are still great, but the main courses have declined a lot in my opinion. Its is disappointing as I loved the place so much. Hopefully it will change back soon!
