PJ O Hare's Oyster Bar & Restaurant
Tholsel St, Carlingford, Louth., Carlingford, Louth
Reviewed 15th May 2012 ( visited 12th May 2012 )I ate hear last weekend with my fiancee. We shared a dish of crab claws in garlic butter which came with homemade brown bread, then we had some BBQ spare ribs. The food here is fantastic but we found the service quite slow. It was worth the wait anyway. The place had a good atmosphere and seemed really busy which is a good sign. We will definitely visit here again next time we are in Carlingford.
Siam Thai (Andrews Street) restaurant
14/15 Andrews Street, City Centre South, Dublin, Area Code: Dublin 2
Reviewed 04th September 2010 ( visited 18th June 2010 )I love this restaurant! Went here with my girlfriend & we both enjoyed it. It was very busy when we arrived and our table wasnt ready so we were asked to wait at the bar which was fine. Very polite staff, nice atmosphere and the food was excellant. I thought it was a little expensive but dont mind paying when i've had a thoroughly enjoyable meal. It's a thumbs up from me!
66/67 Great South Georges Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin
Myself and my wife have eaten here several times and we have enjoyed each visit. The food is always excellent, good value and the atmosphere lively, fully recommend sixty6 to anyone, we'll certainly keep going back.

7 Ballsbridge Terrace, Dublin, Ballsbridge, Dublin
Ate here for the first time using a menupages deal. The food was excellant and regardless of the great value we got through the deal, I would definitely return again. The atmosphere was not great as it was a bit loud due to alot of the tables being very close to eachother. Otherwise a pleasant night and will recommend to others.
Newlands Cross, Naas Road, West Dublin, Clondalkin, Dublin
Went here as a guest at a christening with about 20 other people. The service was very good as was the food and it is always good value here, However, we brought a christening cake for the occasion but were told by the manager that it could not be consumed on the premises as we had not purchased it from Joels. i thought this was rude and ignorant on the managers part as we had already spent apporx €600 on the table. To say this to a party of that size was idotic and has left a sour taste in my mouth. I will think twice about returning here and would not recommend it as a party venue as it is obvious that joels put profit before customer satisfaction.
13 Dame Court, Dublin, City Centre South, Dublin
Went here with my girlfriens as we got a deal on menupages.ie and were very pleased. I think the deal was any main course and desert from the lunch menu. The food was delicious, the service was not the best as the place seemed very busy but it wouldnt put me off returning. Definitely worth a go if you are looking for something a bit classy for your lunch in comfy surroundings.
Harrys Kitchen Restaurant
22, Dawson Street, Dublin
Went here with a large party of about 20 people. We had booked ahead and were treated very well. The staff dealt with the large table brilliantly. Considering the rest of the restaurant was busy as well, our meal was served very prompt and we were constantly monitored to make sure everything was satisfactory. I would definitely return as the food and service were great. The price was reasonable as well.
The Box Tree
Stepaside Village, South Dublin, Stepaside, Dublin
Went here with my girlfriend for valentines night, we had booked ahead which was great because it seemed to be very busy. We just had a main course and a few drinks. I had chicken and she had the seafood special of the day. Both dishes were excellent. I couldnt fault the service or the staff who were very polite and professional. Overall it was a pleasant experience but i'm not sure it was value for money. For two main courses and two beers it worked out at almost €60, i might try the early bird menu next time!
Chatham Street, City Centre South, Dublin
Went here for an early evening meal on new years eve and was very happy. The restaurant was very busy so glad we had booked ahead. We shared a starter and had the burger for a main course each, your can choose different toppings etc. Along with a few beers each, the meal overall was great. The staff were very polite but the service was a bit slow, i suppose considering it was new years eve it was understandable. Would defo return. Thumbs up from me!
Matt The Thresher Seafood Bar and Grill
31/31 Lower Pembroke Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Went here for lunch with my girlfriend and was so glad i did. We had the seafood platter between us which came with homemade brown bread and it was excellant. There was more than enough food for two people on it, the service was fine and the staff were very polite. Matt's has a full bar so there is a great selection of drinks as well. For two beers and our food it only cost €45 between us, couldnt believe the value. Will definitely go back and recommend to others.
Taste of Everest
17a Lower Baggot St, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Went here because I had a citydeal voucher. The place overall was a bit cramped, not very busy for a weekend night but the food was excellent. Both myself and my girlfriend had starters, mains and two beers each and had no complaints, very good food. The staff seemed nice and werent putting us under any pressure to order more drinks or to leave when we were finished. Overall i would say its a nice spot, could do with more authentic music & decor. No complaints on the food or the value, thumbs up!
The Wild Boar
Stepaside Village, Dublin 18, Stepaside, Dublin
Went here using a menu pages offer and was not let down. The atmosphere was good, not too loud but stilll a good buzz about the place. Had the pumpkin soup for starter and the monkfish for mains, both dishes were excellent. The deal was great value but in general, the menu was well priced overall. With a full bar available, it fine to sit and have a drink after your meal. Nice decor and polite staff, no complaints, will certainly return. Fully recommend.
10 Market Lane, Westport, Mayo
Went here on a very busy weekend in Westport so booked ahead, I would advise anyone to book ahead here as it is quite small. My girlfriend had the seafood pasta and I had pizza, both dishes were excellant. The staff were very nice, our table wasnt ready when we got there but didnt mind as we were treated well. Lovely food and good value, would go here again when I return to Westport, fully recommend it.
The Yard Restaurant
3 Lower George Street, Wexford Town, Wexford
Went here with my girlfriend for the earlybird menu. We had the wild mushroom Risotto and the Bruschetta for starters, then we both had the chicken for mains. All dishes were excellant. The main thing about this restaurant is that the staff were very nice & the service was great. Along with a classy decor and genuine antiques littered throughout, it would be hard not to enjoy the atmosphere. We will not only be recommending The Yard to our friends, we will also definitely be returning. Thumbs up!
3 South Anne Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Went to eat here for the first time using the Living Social offer and was not let down. Both my girlfriend and I had the prawns for starter and they were excellant. We had pizza for main course and both agreed that we would definitely come back here again. Regardless of the special offer, the value and quality of the food make this restaurant well worth a visit. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
Cactus Jacks (Middle Abbey St)
Millennium Walkway, Middle Abbey Street, City Centre North, Italian Quarter, Dublin
Went here for lunch on a Saturday A'noon and will definitely be returning. They have a good tapas menu with an offer for 3 dishes for €10 and the portions are very generous. I would definitely recommend the Homemade Nachos with Guacamole. The staff were very polite and the restuarant itself has a comfortable interior with large windows to watch the crowds go by. Its a thumbs up from me!
45 South William Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Having never eaten Moroccan food before, i was looking forward to this restaurant and was not disapointed. We booked ahead through Menupages which turned out to be a good move as there were people waiting for tables when we got there. The food was excellant, no other words needed! We both had different chicken Tangines which were fabulous. Large portions and very tasty! We had the bread and dips for starter and couldnt finish our mains! Overall, i would say the service was slow because it was busy, but they definitely need to improve on that. The food was first class and good value for money. Would definitely return here, and recommend to others.
Fillies Bar & Restaurant
Leopardstown Racecourse, Leopardstown, Dublin
Fillies is always worth a visit. I've been coming here for a few years now and the quality of food has never been anything but excellent. It can lack atmosphere during the day if you are there for lunch, but with two courses from a decent menu for €15, the value more than makes up for that. Fillies gets a thumbs up from me, so if you give it a go, try the BBQ chicken wings, they're amazing!!!
Bits and Pizzas
15 Patrick Street, Dun Laoghaire, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin
This was my second visit to Bits n pizzas and enjoyed it just as much as before. We had booked a table for 7pm and arrived 45mins early hoping to get in an the staff said it was no problem. The chicken wings for starter were nice and tender and the pizza was excellent. Very pleasant staff, value for money and good service, would definitely return. Fully recommend.
Bridge Street, Westport, Mayo
Went into Cosy Joes for lunch on New Years Eve and was not disapointed. We just had a pint and a couple of toasted sandwiches and were very pleased overall. The staff were all very nice, the beer cold and the toasties great! It's a thumbs up for Cosy Joes, would definitely recommend it for a decent feed and a friendly atmosphere.
Taste Italy @ Hotel Kilkenny
College Road, Kilkenny City, Kilkenny
Stayed in this hotel so decided to try their restaurant, was not very impressed. Firstly after booking a table for 7:30pm, we did not get seated until 8:15pm which i found quite annoying. We were also told that all children were to be out of the restuarant by 8pm, this was not the case as there was still young children with their parents there until 9pm. So if you are looking for a quiet, intimate restaurant, this is not for you! The only saving grace for me was the food, very nice starter and the duck for main course was excellant. Overall i would say it was value for money as well. Unfortunately thats not enough to justify a return visit for me.
Little Italy Restaurant
21 John Street, Kilkenny City, Kilkenny
This is a jewel of a restaurant in the heart of the city. Its quite small so you would want to book ahead especially if you are going for their early bird menu which was very good value. Not much atmosphere but when you try the food and see the prices, you will be more than happy. It was only 34euros for two starters and two mains, and you can choose from a wide variety of dishes. Would definitely go back here again.
College Street, Killarney, Killarney, Kerry
Didnt know what this place would be like, just wanted the bar food and was not disapointed. Very good value, nice atmosphere along with some live trad music. The mini grill was excellant value, would recommend it to anyone heading to killarney.
Good Friends Restaurant
13 New Street, Killarney, Killarney, Kerry
Ate here during a visit to Killarney in October. Got there around 8pm and the place was empty. No atmosphere at all, some background music would go a long way. The staff were very polite and the food was alright, nothing to write home about. For one drink each, a shared starter and main course each, it was 60 euro for two people which i thought was quite expensive. Wont be rushing back.
Main Street, Maynooth, Kildare
Greene's is a great place to go for an early bird. Very good value at €17 for 2 courses. It's always busy which is a good sign and the staff are really nice. Always a wide choice of dishes on the menu so there's something to suit all tastes.A definite favourite of mine.
Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK Liffey Valley)
Unit 40B, Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, West Dublin, Liffey Valley, Dublin
I've eaten here lots of times and love it! Their burgers are fantastic and i've never left here feeling hard done by. Not much of an atmosphere but to be honest you go here for the amazing burgers, not the ambience. Big portions, great food and the staff are always polite. I'll definitely be returning again.
Siam Thai (Andrews Street)
14/15 Andrews Street, City Centre South, Dublin
I love this restaurant!
BRASS Bar & Grill
Talbot Hotel Stillorgan, Stillorgan Road, South Dublin, Stillorgan, Dublin
Went recently for a family occasion and wont be returning anytime soon. I had eaten hear for lunch in the past which was fine, good value for money and service was fine, however eating here for dinner was a totally different story. Service was extremely slow and the food was nothing special. Honestly cant say anything positive about my experience here, avoid at all costs!
The Port House
64a South William Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Have eaten in this gem of a resaurant a few times and will continue to do so in the future. The atmosphere, decor and lovely manner of the staff combine to create the perfect place to enjoy a tapas feast. The wide choice of dishes are all great value with generous portions. You cant book a table so go early in the evening and hopefully avoid a long wait, but if you have to come back later, believe me...it's worth it!
Jaipur Restaurant (George's Street)
41 South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin
Went to this restaurant for a special occasion but wont be going again! Even though i had booked a table and arrived on time, we were asked to sit in the waiting area for about 15mins. It didnt seem busy & got no explanation for the delay. We were seated downstairs & the tables are so close together it was quite hard to have any level of privacy when eating. The food i must admit was very good but way overpriced for what it is, and once we had been served the staff didnt want to know us until we were ready to pay and leave. I wont be going back here in a hurry.
Careys Lane, Cork City, Cork
Visted this restaurant for the second time recently and was not disappointed. It is quite small so i would advise booking ahead. I thought at first that €19 for Fajitas was quite expensive but to be honest it was well worth it....delicious food and nice friendly staff made our meal a very enjoyable experience. I would definitely recommend this Mexican marvel and will eat here again. PS: Try the nachos with Chicken for a starter.....YUM!!!!
Eleven West Restaurant
11 West Beach, Cobh, Cork
This gem of a restaurant is well worth a visit. The friendly staff, outstanding food and warm comfortable atmosphere made my dining experience one which i will not forget soon. Both my girlfriend and i chose fish dishes and were not dissapointed. The monkfish was fantastic and they made something as simple as beer battered cod simply melt in the mouth! To top it all, the prices were very reasonable. i would definitely come here again on my next visit to Cork. It's a thumbs up from me.
