The steak here really is fantastic. And it is cooked exactly how you ask for it to be cooked. Three of us dined here recently & all three of us had the steak! Excellent service, great wine list, a real little gem of a place.

Had a lovely evening here last night! The food is excellent, would highly recommend, .lovely friendly staff too, the service might have been a little slow, but you don't mind too much here! If you visit, I can't recommend the pizza highly enough. Proper thin crusty base, loads of toppings & with the chilli oil, heaven! It was busy too, and there was a queue of people waiting to be sat at a table. After dining here, I can see why. Can't wait to go back.

Cleaver East By Oliver Dunne
6-8 East Essex Street, , Temple Bar, Dublin 2 , Temple Bar, Dublin

Really like this place. We’ve been twice for lunch in the past fortnight!!! It’s a beautiful dining room, and there’s a lovely atmosphere. The staff are knowledgeable & friendly & they do make you feel really welcome. One of the nicest starters I think I’ve ever had is there prawn dumplings, served in a lemon broth – delish!!! My main course was chicken, and it was perfect – the portions are just the right size. We shared a side order of chips, again, excellent. I have recommended this to others, and they too have really enjoyed eating here. I’m already looking forward to our next visit!

La Caverna Restaurant & Wine Bar
12 Fownes Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

Had a lovely lunch here on Saturday. It was quiet, which was a pity, as the food here is really really good. To start, I had the homemade spring roll, which was delicious, and my friend had the Caesar salad. For my main, I tried their risotto. What a wonderful dish – with chicken and asparagus and a mixture of olives and mushrooms. It was fantastic. My friend had the lamb shank, which was a huge portion, on a bed of creamy mash. The service here is always friendly, the staff are always very pleasant. We’ve been on a number of occasions, and we will be back, a really lovely spot. Great value too, they serve their early bird menu from 1PM on the weekends. Would highly recommend.

The Larder Restaurant
8 Parliament Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I came by this place by chance, having not heard about it before. It’s a real gem. I dropped in for a nice late lunch, with a glass of vino and a delicious pasta dish. It was simple, tagatelli in a light white wine sauce with huge tiger prawns. It was cooked perfectly, and I have to say it was delicious. The service was prompt & not intrusive, and I spent a very pleasant lunch hour sat by a window, enjoying a glass of good red and my book. I’ll definitely be back here, it’s a lovely spot.

Smyth & Gray's Restaurant
1A Crow Street, Temple Bar, Dublin

Have been here a few times, and have really enjoyed it. Really nice friendly service, and the food is excellent. I’ve had their spaghetti pasta dish, simple with green and black olives, served in a very simple olive oil sauce, and it really is excellent. One time one of the waiters headed out across the road and got us 2 G+T’s, sure you can’t beat service like that! Will be back, and would highly recommend!

Cafe Topolis
37 Parliament Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Had a lovely meal here last night. Brilliant value early bird, lots of choice, The place was packed by 1830 - this place is cleary very popular. I had a spaggetti dish - simple, but very well executed. I had the chicken wings to start, lovely. The service was excellent too, a lovely girl looked after us, and she was on her own for a while, with the place busy - she was still lovely. We'll definately be back, great value, lovely atmosphere, and excellent service

Langton House Hotel Kilkenny
69 John Street, Kilkenny City, Kilkenny City, Kilkenny

Stayed here recently and it really is a lovely hotel. The food is hearty and un-fancy (if that's a word!) but very good. I would recommend their toasted sandwich special, huge toasted ham and cheese, with a big dollop of chips. Delish! The service here is also excellent. It's one of my favourite places to visit when in Killkenny

Diwali Indian Restaurant
Unit 1, Castle House, South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

This restaurant is a real find. It's not a flash posh place, but the food and service is second to none. They have great value lunch & early bird menus, with a good selection of starters and mains to chose from. If you like your curry hot, they'll make it nice and spicy. The naan bread is so soft and fresh & their onion bajihis are huge crumbling masterpieces! They always look after their regulars well, with a drink on the house offered always! Can't recommend this place highly enough!

Elephant & Castle
18/19 Temple Bar, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

This restaurant is always packed - here again recently & put our name down, then popped off for a quick drink. To start we shared a portion of the chicken wings - which were lovely, they do live up to all the hype. Then for my main I had the blue cheese and roasted chicken salad with endives. This was huge, and really good - the tart vinegar dressing was lovely with it. Joe had the burger with bacon and a tone of melted cheese - it was huge & came with a good portion of chips - he loved it - and he wasn't long clearing his plate. The service was ok - not overly friendly, a touch of the too cool for school about the wait staff here!

MV Cill Airne Boat Bar & Restaurant
MV Cill Airne, North Wall Quay, Dublin 1, IFSC, Dublin

Four of us dined her last night for my sisters birthday. What a lovely restaurant - and the food was excellent. I had the fish and chips, which was delicious - the batter lovely and light, my husband had the steak & he was very happy with it - the chips here are very good. It was very busy for a Monday night - which was good to see. The staff are lovely and friendly. Would recommend.

Siam Thai (Andrews Street)
14/15 Andrews Street, City Centre South, Dublin

Fancied a curry! So 4 of us headed here last night. To start, I had the tempura prawns. They were excellent & the batter so nice and light & not at all greasy. Then for my main I had the thai green prawn curry - and again, it was delicious, I had it with a side of noodles, which I find are a lighter option than the rice. My mates were very happy with their choices too & along with a lovely bottle of red - it was a really nice meal, I look forward to heading back

Luigi Malones Restaurant
5/6 Cecilia Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

Friends birthday here on Friday. Was packed. That didn't impact on the service however. I had the chicken wings to start and then the peri peri chicken with a green side salad for my main - both dishes were excellent, and the reasonably priced pitchers of cocktails added to the party fun! Lovely spot.

Port House Pintxo

Nice lunch here on Saturday - we shared four dishes, the bravas, chicken skewers in a lemon sauce & chicken wings along with toasted bread & serranno ham. All washed down with a lovely light fruity rioja - so lovely! Service was good, and its great value, €42 - will definitely be back!
