A joint birthday party with 11 people with a variety of taste preferences, vegetarians and other led us to choose this restaurant and it was a huge success. The restaurant was buzzing, the choices on the menu huge and the portions generous. Amazingly everything arrived at the same time. The cocktails here are a must too and all were on special offer of 7eu each which is fantastic on a Saturday night in the city centre. As we booked through menupages we all got a free glass of cava which was fantastic. Those who managed desserts were equallly impressed. A return visit is on the cards real soon!!

Bon Appetit
9 James Terrace, Malahide, Dublin, Malahide, Dublin

Having dined in both the Restaurant and Brasserie of Bon Appetit on several occassions I was expecting great things. Unfortunatley when we arrived we were left in the cramped reception area for almost 15 minutes without being seen to. Granted there was a private function taking place in the bar area at the time but I don't think that's any excuse for numerous diners to be left hanging around and feeling in the way as people tried to pass by to go outside and smoke / make phonecalls. The food was excellent as always but no sooner were the starter plates taken away when the mains arrived. The 2 courses took less than an hour to finish which would be good if it was a rushed lunchtime but not for what was meant to be a nice relaxing evening out. We will go back again but not in the near future.

Sseduced Raw Food
20 Cecelia St, Temple Bar, Dublin

I ate here with my vegan friend and was very pleasantly surprised. The food was tasty and innovative and at times it was hard to believe it was vegan. The restaurant was very quite when we were there so it may take a while to take off. The waiter couldn't have been nicer. Definately worth a try for vegans and non-vegans alike.

Pyg Restaurant
Powerscourt Townhouse Centre, South William Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

Wow!!! We were massively impressed with Pyg. It was our first visit here due to having a menupages voucher. The choices on the menu for fantastic, the antipasti plate was overflowing with flavoursome food including cheeses, meats, sundried tomatoes and olives served with tasty pestos and crispy breads. We both choose hake for our main but served differently and the side orders of sweet potato wedges were amazing. The portiion sizes were generous and we had to struggle, but managed, to have a pear and almond crumble for dessert. The service was friendly and and the bill for extras small - a fantastic place. Our return visit has already been booked :)

Gorgeous tapas, great wine selection, super service and lovely surroundings. We tried a variety of dishes all of which were full of flavour, the prawns were exceptionally tasty. Although not cheap it was definatley worth the money.

Seasons Restaurant, InterContinental Dublin
InterContinental Dublin, Simmonscourt Road, Ballsbridge, Ballsbridge, Dublin

We had an amazing lunch here today courtesy of a menupages voucher. The experience was wonderful from the moment we entered the beautiful rdining oom until the last sip of wine was consumed! Fresh bread and poppadums with pesto and olive oil were brought to our table upon arrival, it was a great start to the meal. The was a huge selection on the set menu, we decided start with penne, the portion was huge and the tomato and chilli oil sauce gorgeous and salmon which was also beautiful. The fish and chips and beef and guinness pie were also superb but the best part of the meal was definatley the desserts, spicy pear crumble arriving hot straight from the oven with a beautiful custard and ice cream side and a banoffi and chocolate sundae were promptly devoured. The service throughtout was faultless, we will definately be back in the next few weeks.

That's Amore - Malahide
12 Townyard Lane, North Co. Dublin, Malahide, Dublin

The first time we ate here we had a voucher and we enjoyed it so much we've been back 4 times! There is an excellent early bird on fri sat and sun which only costs 12.90 for 2 courses or 14.90 for 3 courses. Starters include prawns (very tasty) and bruschetta (equally good) and mains of pizza, lasagne and chicken. The seafod pizza is piled high with fish inlcluding prawns, squid and anchovies. The pavlova and warm sticky toffee pudding taste like more. The service is excellent and the waitresses extremely friendly and nice.

Washerwomans Hill
60 Glasnevin Hill, Glasnevin, Glasnevin, Dublin

We hadn't eaten here in a couple of years and took advantage of a menupages voucher last week. The restaurant was buzzing when we arrived and the aroma as we walked in the door was very appetizing. The menu was extensive and eventually we decide on seafood starters, scallops and a seafood platter which included a fishcake and prawns, The seabass main was beautiful and perfectly cooked but the highlight of the meal was the lemon tart with lemon curd icecream, We 're looking forward to going back already.

The River Room @ The K Club
The K Club, Straffan, Kildare

We enjoyed a superb Sunday lunch here yesterday. Sunday lunch in the River Room costs 29eu for 2 courses or 43.50 for 3 courses. The room itself is large and superbly decorated and overlooks the beautiful grounds. The 2 course lunch is definately worth the price. The portion sizes of our starters of smoked salmon and carpaccio and mains of salmon were extremely generous. There was no extra charge for sides which was a welcome change. We passed on dessert as we were too full and settled for coffee, at 6.50 a pot is was expensive but worth it. We'll definately be going back here again sooner rather than later.

Ivans Oyster Bar & Grill
17 - 18 West Pier, Howth, Dublin

This place is just gorgeous ! A long leisurly Friday lunchtime was spent enjoying the beautiful tapas on offer in this bright and friendly restaurant. We shared an assortment of dishes including calamari, potatas bravas and our favourites succulent scallops and lobster and potato croquettes. Everything was devoured and after a short break we treated ourselves to delicious deserts of homemade icecream and sorbets. Although not cheap it was worth every cent for the flavours and atmosphere. We stopped off in the deli next door on the way out to bring some treats home.

Hedigans The Brian Boru
5 Prospect Road, Glasnevin, Dublin

We only ended up parking the car here while we were looking for somewhere to dine in Phibsboro. We went in here nd were delighted with our meal. The service was fast, efficient and friendly. There was a great buzz around the place and the food was lovely, My boyfriend had a superb beef and guinness pie and I had a lovely pasta dish, We will definately go back here and this time on purpose.

The Porterhouse (North )
Cross Guns Bridge, Glasnevin, Dublin

Our main reason for dining here was the fact that we had a voucher to use up, we booked for a Thursday evening and the restaurant was full. Although we didnt get to choose from the full menu what we had was lovely. The starter of calamari was gorgeous and everything was freshly prepared. The two waitresses could not have been nicer or more helpful. We will definately be back soon.

Saba
26-28 Clarendon Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

A few of us had lunch here yesterday and it was nice - 15.95 for 2 courses, I had hake in banana skin and a mild curry sauce which was nice but incurred a supplement - it was served with plain boiled rice. The fritters for dessert was just ok, a bit greasy and the pineapple was very hard although the coconut icecream was nice.

Salamanca
1 St Andrews Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Having heard great things about this restaurant we decided to try it last Saturday night and were very impressed with our visit. The place was buzzing with a huge variety of customers, booking is definately to be recommended as several groups tried getting a table without a reservation and were turned away. The menu is very extensive and it was difficult choosing what to have, we decided to share garlic bread, patatas bravas, calamari which was fantastic and a really beautiful dish of smoked salmon stuffed with salmon and topped with caviar. Despite being quite full the temptation of the mango and champaagne sorbet was too much and we gave in - it too was beautiful. A definate must for a visit.

Restaurant FortyOne
Residence, 41 St. Stephen´s Green, Dublin , City Centre South, Dublin

Superb restaurant. The service, food and atmosphere were wonderful. The scallop starter was exceptional and there is a full vetetarian menu available for the non meateaters. The service was attentive but uninvasive. The fennel sorbet was out of this world - we can't wait to go back.

Roly Saul The Restaurant
The Mill House, Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin

We had a lovley family lunch here - the food was lovely and the selection on the set menu huge. We had a toddler and a baby with us and the staff couldnt have been more accommodating. The vegetarians have a great selection to choose from and the homemade soup was tasty and filling.

The Terenure Inn
96 Terenure Road North, Terenure, Dublin

More bistro than bar food the quality and service we experienced here last Sunday was second to none. I ordered the seabass which was perfectly cooked and served with champ, chips, cabbage, cauliflour and carrots, my partner had the beef which was both tender and tasty. The apple pie came with the nicest honeycomb icecream I have ever tasted!

profile_review

Bellagio
92 Terenure Road North, Dublin 6W, Terenure, Dublin

We ate here on a Saturday night and although not full there was a comfortable crowd here. There is good set menu for 19.95 for 2 courses, my partner went for this and had pate and trout. I went for the calamari which was lovely and a very good sized portion. The service was prompt and friendly.

Zings @ The Maryborough House Hotel
Maryborough Hill, Douglas, Douglas, Cork

As it was a bank holiday weekend the restaurant was full but unfortunately the service suffered because of it. The staff were friendly and polite but service was very slow. The choices on the menu were very good but the food wasn't as good as we hoped. We may try it again during a less busy period as the potential is definately there.

Cavistons Seafood Restaurant
59 Glasthule Road, Glenageary, South Co. Dublin, Sandycove, Dublin

Superb. We wen here for the lunch special - 2 courses for 12.95 or 15.95 with a glass of wine. The offer is available at noon and although early was definately worth the drive across the city. The restaurant is small inside but there was enough space between the tables for privacy. The staff couldn't have been nicer and the choice of 3 starters and 3 mains was great. The "meal deal" also included sides of beautiful potatoes and salad, The portion sizes were great and fish gorgeous, We finished off with a spot of shopping in Cavistons deli next door. We're planning a return trip already.

The Dropping Well
Classon's Bridge, Milltown, Milltown, Dublin

The setting by the river here is gorgeous especially on a nice day, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The menu itself is quiet good but not all of it is good value - one slice of bruscetta served with a small side salad cost six euros and was worth about too. A spot worth going to if you stick to the value menu

profile_review

Eastern Seaboard
1 Bryanstown Centre, Dublin Road, Drogheda, Louth

A last minute decision to dine out in Drogheda on Friday night resulted in a visit to Eastern Seaboard and what a pleasant visit it was. The decor is simple but spotless, the service was friendly and the men choices huge, We shared a croistini to start and had the battered smoked fish and aubergine stack for mains. Each main dish came with 2 sides so we shared the organic carrots, spinach, fries and sweet potato wedges. Everything was beautiful, the portions were huge and we left very satisfied. A return visit very soon is on the cards.

Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK Swords)
Pavillion Shopping Centre, Malahide Road, Swords, Dublin

Cool burger joint in the Pavilions, if you eat there before 5pm all burgers are only €5. There are meat, lamb, veggie and chicken burgers to choose from, I had a lovely aubergine and goats cheese one topped with fresh salad, he had a lamb burger and we shared some onion rings (so nice) and fries. The staff are friendly and the service is good. Point to note if you go to the cinema in the Pavilions the €5 offer is extended once you have your cinema ticket.

Eden Restaurant @ Bellinter House Hotel
Bellinter House, Navan, Meath

We had a beautiful Sunday lunch here last week. The Eton Smokies starter stole the show - hot, tasty and gorgeous. Each main was accompanied by indivual vegetables to suit the dish. The desserts of Christmas Pudding and sorbet (Apricot, Kiwi and Cranberry) were superb. We finished the day by having a drink in gorgeous drawing room upstairs. Although the restaurant was quite empty there was a real buzz around the House itself with people coming and going all the time.

Superb. We had lunch here on Friday, a gorgeous 4 course lunch for 24.95. We both had calamari to start - it was served with a generous and very tasty dip. The fish and chips were gorgeous and the portion size was great. We choose lemon tart and bread and butter for dessert and both were goegeous. The service was friendly and efficient. Definately worth a speedy return visit.

Da Neros Trattoria
Seamus Ennis Road (Above Xtra Vision) , North Dublin, Dublin 11, Finglas, Dublin

A workmate has been telling us about this restaurant for ages but we only got to try it out yesterday and it was great. There's a 2 course lunch menu for 7.95 and an a la carte to choose from. Our starters of bruschetta and garlic mushrooms were gorgeous, the portions were large and beautifully presented. Our mains were pizza (which was served with garlic bread and a side salad). spagetti bolognese and ceasar salad. Again everything was gorgeous, fresh and tasty. We were too full for desserts but hope to try them next time.

Fantastic food, fantastic value, fantastic choices, fantastic staff. We were staying in the hotel for a few days and ended up eating in he Pins every night as the food was so good. They have a set menu which includes a cocktail as well as an a la carte. Everything we had was super, from the smoked salmon pizza to the beef pie, calamari to lemon meringue pie. Can't wait to go back.

D'Vine
Basement Distillery House, Dyer St, Drogheda, Drogheda, Louth

We dined here Saturday night and even though what we got was nice it's more of a lunch place. There is a 3 course set menu for 22eu which 2 of the party went for. The mains come with bread/salad as opposed to potatoes and veg. The highlight of the evening was the desserts, all were great but the tiramisa and chocolate fondant stunning.

profile_review

Greedy Goose
15 Townyard Lane, Malahide, Malahide, Dublin

The concept of the tasting menu is good, 3 different priced menus where you get to choose 3 dishes plus the option of ordering the dishes separately. What we got was lovely, thick tasty soup, lovely calamari, great fish and chips but we both found the portions small. Think it would be a good idea to offer main course portions for a more expensive price.

profile_review

ZAO Thai Restaurant
96B Omni Park Shopping Centre, Swords road , North Dublin, Santry, Dublin

We went here for the early bird last week - 19.90 for a four course. The food was nice and service friendly and fast. Vegetarians are well catered for but €6 for a bottle of sparkling was a bit stiff.

Hush Brasserie
12A New Street Malahide, Malahide, Dublin

Two of us went here for the early bird on Wednesday and it was lovely. There is a great selection on the early bird menu. The feta cheese salad was tasty and a very decent sized portion and the salmon main moist and beautifully cooked. The only fault with the restaurant is the proximity of the tables, this wasnt a problem Wednesday as the restaurant wasn't full but during a busy weekend service would be uncomfortable.

Restaurant Ten Fourteen
324 Clontarf Road, Clontarf, Dublin

Fabulous - from the initial telephone enquiry where I was speaking to an extremely friendly girl until the last morsel of dessert was consumed. Four of us had Sunday lunch here, we had 4 different starters, four different mains and two different desserts and every plate went back empty. All the staff and the chef were so friendly and welcoming it was a pleasure to dine here. A special mention for the sticky toffee pudding cake with hot butterscotch sauce - it was out of this world. The only improvement I would suggest is a bit more choice for vegetarians.

Courtyard Restaurant
Carnegie Court Hotel, North Street, Swords, Swords, Dublin

We had the early bird here last week and it was just ok. We both started with garlic bread which was very poor, you could hardly taste the garlic. The mains of steak and vegetable korma were a big improvement, both were tasty and nicely served. The desserts were fine if a bit boring.

profile_review

Purple Ocean Restaurant
St Michael's Pier, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Had a great lunch here yesterday - super value, €20 for four courses (one of which was tea / coffee), the restaurant is beautifully decorated, the choices on the menu were great (some did include a surcharge) and the service was very good. This, teamed with the lovely views definately warrant a return.

Dobbins Restaurant
15 Stephen Lane, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

We ate here last week and the food was excellent, however, the closeness of the tables and noise in the restaurant took away from the experience. We were unfortunate enough to be seated at a booth beside several large tables of a work party. The tables were on top of the booth and it was awkward for both us and the waiting staff to move around with any comfort. We would go back for the food but at a less busy time of year.

This is a beautiful restaurant with friendly staff and great service. Six of us dined here on Saturday night and everything we got was perfect. The only fault is ,it not being vegetarian friendly. There was only one vegetarian starter and main, even the potato soup had bacon in it and was served with a hens egg, there was a good selection of fish on the menu but again most of it was served with meat, eg monkfish wrapped parma ham. We will definitely be back but please a little more consideration for the non meat eaters amongst us

We ate here last night and it was really nice, the menu was very varied and the portions generous. I had the calamari for starters which is the best I've had in a long time, it was cooked to perfection and served with tartare sauce, my companion had the prawns and enjoyed them also. We stuck to Italian fayre for the mains with pizza and lasagne, again very tasty. The staff were very friendly and the bill reasonable, I'll definitely go here again soon.

The Purty Kitchen (Temple Bar)
East Essex Streer, Temple Bar, Dublin

We ate here at the weekend and it was very nice, the restaurant is on the ground floor bar level and there was live music on the night which was very good but not the place to go if you fancy a chat. The food was very nice and tasty, spicy crab cakes and calamari both went down very well as did the steak and tacklebox. The paella was not as popular and the portion was quite small for a main course.

Rolys Bistro
7 Ballsbridge Terrace, Dublin, Ballsbridge, Dublin

This restaurant buzzes, even on a Monday night, there are not many empty tables to be found. The food here is always good, the service speedy and the crowd mixed. On our latest visit here there were four of us and we all enjoyed our meals. The starters arrived promptly and the carrot and coriander soup with honey cream was delicious. The mains of beef, lamb and salmon were perfect and accompanied by potatoes, courgettes in a tomato sauce and cheese and carrots. I love the way this restaurant includes side orders in the price of the main course. Every plate that went back to the kitchen was empty. A good night was had by all.

We dined here last Saturday night and had a brilliant night. The restaurant itself is gorgeous - large, spacious and airy. We arrived at 8.50 for our 9pm booking and were shown to our table straight away. The staff were friendly, attentive and professional. The food was gorgeous, I had tomoto and goats cheese tart to start and an amazing artichoke main with aubergine caviar, my partner had the foie gras and chicken stuffed with feta cheese and sundried tomatoes - everything was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. Definately worth a visit.

Howards Way (Rathgar)
8 Orwell Road, Dublin 6, Rathgar, Dublin

This small restaurant is an absolute diamond of a find, although small and cafe like inside the standard of food is excellent. Their early bird which runs all night is brilliant value, 2 courses for 2 people and a bottle of wine for under €50 - there's not many places you'd get that these days. The menu is varied and vegetarian friendly and the staff couldn’t be nicer. The last time we were there the sea bass was a special (a small €4 supplement applied to the early bird) it was gorgeous, beautifully cooked and seasoned and twice the size and half the price of any other "posh" restaurant. I'd also highly recommend the Thai Curry. Definitely worth a visit, we can't wait to go back.

Four of us were dining and had a selection of chicken, lamb and vegetarian starters and vegetarian, lamb and red snapper mains. All the food was excellent with the red snapper being exceptional. The decor is bright and airy, the staff couldn’t have been friendlier, the restaurant was buzzing and they even had a belly dancer thrown in for good measure. I look forward to a return visit very soon.

The perfect spot for a quick bite if you're in town, the lunch menu is excellent value at €7.50 for a pizza or lasagne with fries or a salad, the service was good and very pleasant and the food tasty.

Casa Pasta (Howth)
12 Harbour Road, Howth, Dublin

We dined here last week and they now do a special of 2 courses for 20eu or 3 for 23eu which is super value. There was a good crowd there but the service was as fast and pleasant as ever. The calamari starter was beautiful, no chewiness at all and was served with a lovely side salad. My friend had the goats cheese which was also lovely. We stuck to pasta mains and couldn't get enough of the salmon in a honey mustard sauce. The evening was complete after eating the nicest banoffi pie ever.

Bon Appetit
9 James Terrace, Malahide, Dublin, Malahide, Dublin

An excellent dining experience from beginning to end, from the friendly efficient staff to the clean crisp decor of the restaurant. We had the early bird, €21 for two courses and €25 for three. The choices for each course were fantastic and every course came out beautifully presented and seasoned to perfection. Flawless.

Marios Pizzeria
12G New Street, Shopping Mall, North Co. Dublin, Malahide, Dublin

Cheap is not a word usually associated with Malahide - but this restaurant is just that. The food quality is excellent and the staff extremely friendly. A must is you fancy a pizza or lasagne. Great value for money.

Chapter One Restaurant
18/19 Parnell Square, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

After hearing and reading nothing but good reviews about Chapter One I must admit we were disappointed with our experience there. The staff and setting could not be faulted as both were perfect but the food was not as good as we thought it would be.

TGI Friday (St Stephens Green )
St Stephens Green, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

If you want a nice quiet romantic meal don't come here - if on the other hand you want some good cocktails, good atmosphere and good service do. The food is typically American and the portions are large. Not the place to come if you are vegetarian though.

The Red Bank House & Restaurant
5-7 Church Street, Skerries, Skerries, Dublin

This is a lovely restaurant with excellent menu choices. The mainstay of the menu is fish everything from skate to cod, prawns to mussels. The Sunday lunch is good value at €33 for 5 courses. The ambience is one of a relaxed dining / drawing room with richly coloured furnishings and great paintings on the wall. The best part of the meal is always the dessert trolley with an abundance of home made perfect tasting treats.

This is quite a nice restaurant, the decor is lovely and the selection of food is good. If you're still hungry the tiramisu is lovely.

The Winding Stair Restaurant
40 Lower Ormond Quay, Dublin 1 , City Centre North, Dublin

The Winding Stair occupies an ideal spot in Dublin city centre especially if you are lucky enough to get a window seat, the seating however is quite cramped. While the food is nice and portions sizes quite generous the prices, especially for lunch, are a bit steep.

Bella Cuba Restaurant
11 Ballsbridge Terrace, Ballsbridge, Dublin

We dined here last week and it was an absolute pleasure - even as we walked up the narrow stairway the aromas that greeted us were fantastic. There was a great choice on the menu and everything was flavoured to perfection and tasted superb. We'll definitely be dining here again soon.

Nautilus
9 Marine Court, The Green, North Co. Dublin, Malahide, Dublin

Superb restaurant, great choice on the menu, very friendly and efficient service even though the restaurant was full. Our mains - salmon and vegetarian pasta - were both beautiful, well presented and excellent sized portions. A special mention for the amazing dessert, a cherry samosa with cherry and cassis jelly and ice cream, the taste and presentation were amazing.

Pearl Brasserie
20 Merrion Street Upper, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Fantastic - 6 of us dined here on Saturday night after not have being there for a while and it was great to see that the standard is still amazingly high. Along with the standard menu The Pearl has an excellent vegetarian menu which was great considering there were 2 vegetarians present on the night. The decor is lovely and the tables not on top of each other as they are in many other restaurants. The service was impeccable, friendly and professional and the food tasty and beautifully presented. 6 people, 3 courses each and 18 empty plates going back. We won't leave it so long before we return.
