Wasabi Japanese Restaurant
1 Main street , 1st Floor, Malahide, Dublin

We had a voucher and were looking forward to it but in all honesty won't be rushing back. We were seated 20 minutes before anyone came near us, it wasn't busy ,they appeared to have plenty of staff, so I don't know why we had to wait. We had chicken skewer to start which was delicious. Then we had salmon teriyaki and chicken teriyaki. My salmon was served with the skin facing up and which was a turn off. The chicken was plentiful and tasty but the meal arrived with rice, chips and green salad. What's Japanese about chips? It was a decent meal considering we didn't pay full price, but will not be returning anytime soon, voucher or not.

Courtyard Restaurant
Carnegie Court Hotel, North Street, Swords, Swords, Dublin

We went as part of a large crowd, meal was beautiful service was efficient despite our large number. We were offered the early bird menu which at €19.95 was exceptional value, fillet steak €10 extra. Definitely worth a return visit

Boulevard Cafe
27 Exchequer Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

Had the menupages deal meal which was a bit if a surprise, but to be fair it was absolutely delicious. The wild mushrooms bruschetta for starter and a ribeye for mains. My husband had the duck salad and pork belly to follow. Both of us loved our choices, and really enjoyed the atmosphere, it was 7pm, but the place was buzzing. We were a bit pressed for time unfortunately and couldn't savour the atmosphere, but definitely will return.

King Sitric Fish Restaurant
East Pier, North Co. Dublin, Howth, Dublin

I can safely say I had the most amazing meal I've ever had, even though I have been here a couple of times before. Chose from the 2 course menu for €30, had the most fabulous scallops n home produced sausage for starters and moved out of my comfort zone for the lobster gnocchi ..... Omg, delish, delish.

Hemmingways
2B Vernon Avenue, Dublin 3, Clontarf, Dublin

Brought children here, for a Saturday, not the cheap n cheerful, only because it was their chosen restaurant for their birthday meal. (2 in one week!) still they loved it, we loved it and they all had a very happy birthday meal. Can't wait to go back...

Dinos Traditional Restaurant & Takeaway
Pier Road Kinsale, Kinsale, Cork

Visited here because here because we had seen large queues outside and figured we couldn't go wrong. We were a party of 9, kids included and by God it was a good decision! The fish was gorgeous and the chips were PROPER chips! Not a big fan of mushy peas (throwback to childhood) but the tartare sauce was beautiful. The kids got proper food as well, none of the processed muck. Total bill came to under €100 which included soft drinks and 3 beers including the nes Kinsale craft beer.

That's Amore - Malahide
12 Townyard Lane, North Co. Dublin, Malahide, Dublin

I've reviewed this restaurant before and always given it high praise, but while I have no complaint about the food, their attitude took me back a bit. I didn't recognise any of the staff and felt that we were an imposition. What I gathered to be the owner positioned himself at a table and seemed to be giving us dirty looks, which mad me uncomfortable and anxious to leave. I have plans to go back on Friday, but after that?

Dobbins Restaurant
15 Stephen Lane, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Two rib eye steaks that were melt in the mouth and a sticky toffee pudding that looked too pretty to eat. Delicious food, beautifully presented and pleasant atmosphere . Loved it.

Hemmingways
2B Vernon Avenue, Dublin 3, Clontarf, Dublin

Had a lovely family occasion here, food was exceptionally good, enjoyed by all. The bill for 12 including 6(?) bottles of wine came to €413. Everyone was impressed and eager to return.

Casa Pasta (Howth)
12 Harbour Road, Howth, Dublin

Haven't been here in so long, it was a big surprise. Had a seafood platter(no.3) to share as a starter, absolutely delicious, so much so that I could have it on its own as a main, all for me. Crab cakes, bruschetta with prawns, calamari, haddock strips to name a few. Had burger which was lovely and linguine with a creamy smoked bacon, yummy as well. Won't leave it as long to return..

Mirchi
9 Townyard Lane, North Co. Dublin, Malahide, Dublin

Booked here with the menupages voucher, was asked to put reservation back until 9.30 which suited perfectly. When we got there only 4 tables were occupied, so we were about taken aback. The food was beautiful, amazing little lamb chops that were so tender. We both had chicken mains, both were gorgeous. The only downside to the evening was the lack of atmosphere.

profile_review

Fernhill Restaurant
Fernhill House Hotel, Clonakilty, Cork

Apart from the fact that there was only 2 other tables, the welcoming atmosphere in here was second to none. We had checked in for a funeral and ate before the removal. The dinner was beautiful and the breakfast next morning freshly cooked to order, Clonakilty pudding and sausages, not the standard thick sausages favoured by so many establishments. Plan to return with family in tow.

The Kitchen @ The Glasshouse Hotel

Enjoyed the deal for €13 here, meal and drink for that price, how bad? We enjoyed a fabulous burger and a pint. Cheap, delicious dinner for weary travellers. Highly recommend it.

Source Sligo
1/2 John St., Sligo Town, Sligo

Came here for lunch, knowing nothing about it. Very appealing looking from outside so we went in, great decision! We had 3 starters between us, smoked salmon, goats cheese and a vegetable soup. Each dish was delicious. Would highly recommend it

That's Amore - Malahide
12 Townyard Lane, North Co. Dublin, Malahide, Dublin

Used a living social voucher to come here again with children. The service is friendly and efficient, voucher was for 2 bottles of wine but we only ordered one. The children obviously had their drinks as well, but other half was feeling guilty at the value we were receiving that we went mad and ordered coffee and ice creams. When we asked for the bill, there was no extra charge for those items as we did not order the second bottle of wine! It's a lovely spot and would benefit from opening a bit longer in the evenings.

McGoverns Malahide
The diamond, Main Street , North Co. Dublin, Malahide, Dublin

Went here this morning for breakfast, seeing as another local restaurant was temporarily closed. Was tempted in purely by the crowd that seemed to be heading in. Ordered a savoury omelette. We were told that it would have veg, ham n cheese. It arrived and all I could see in it was one half of a cherry tomato, a few slices of red onion and lots of cheese. My friend's omelette had bits of uncooked egg in it, not very appealing.my pot of tea arrived in a dirty pot that wouldn't close and my cup was far from spotless. Will definitely not be returning to this establishment.

profile_review

The Mint Cottage
2A Main Street, Raheny, Dublin

Went with 3 children for an early bird meal. Didn't order a full meal for the youngest who was 6 but when the manager saw her picking away at the starters with the rest of us he produced a full portion of jal frezi(not normal strength) for her. She was delighted! Great service and gorgeous food.

The Yacht (Clontarf)
73 Clontarf Road, Clontarf, Dublin

Had a chicken Caesar salad which was huge and delicious, had been reluctant to order the fish n chips from a previous visit but a companion ordered same and it looked good. The service was a bit on the slow side but the pub did fill up quite quickly

Hemmingways
2B Vernon Avenue, Dublin 3, Clontarf, Dublin

Fabulous food, great menu, it's called the mid week cheap n cheerful. It is that in name only, there is nothing cheap about the quality of the food. There is also a lovely intimate atmosphere, highly recommend it

Cape Greko (Malahide)
Unit 1 First Floor, New Street, Malahide, Malahide, Dublin

We were a gang of 8 adults plus 5 children on Christmas Eve, the restaurant had a fantastic atmosphere and as usual the food was up to its normal high standards. Service was friendly & attentive. We had been asked upon booking to vacate by a certain time but never felt under pressure to eat and run. A classy touch was being offered a drink on the house, even for the children. No wonder we try to go as often as possible..

profile_review

Hemmingways
2B Vernon Avenue, Dublin 3, Clontarf, Dublin

This is a lovely spot, the owner is the waiter and will explain the menu to you in minute detail. If you don't like the way they do it, they will cook it the way you like it! No nonsense! There was a good crowd tor a Wednesday evening, considering school was starting again the next morning. Well worth a visit but book early for a weekend night.

profile_review

That's Amore - Malahide
12 Townyard Lane, North Co. Dublin, Malahide, Dublin

Came here again on a living social deal. Ordered 4 pizzas., 2 of which were calzone. Delicious! Two lots of chicken wings and calamari meant that there was plenty for everyone and food left over. Service is so friendly and efficient, well worth a visit.

Bombay Pantry Fairview
38 Philipsburgh Avenue, Fairview, Dublin

Had ordered from here before so knew the quality was good. Had never collected food from it but was using a voucher. Food was excellent including the children's meals. Definitely will return and not just with a deal!

profile_review

The Mint Cottage
2A Main Street, Raheny, Dublin

Had eaten here before and was looking forward to it again. We had the menupages voucher with us which gave a lot of options. The food was delicious but the restaurant was very quiet for a Saturday night. I could only put it down to the Dublin match only having finished up before we got there; it did not detract from our enjoyment of the meal. We were offered deserts as part of the deal as well as coffees but couldn't as we were so full. The service was excellent and even though we were on a voucher deal we were still offered an after dinner drink. Will not be a stranger to this place

Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK Swords)
Pavillion Shopping Centre, Malahide Road, Swords, Dublin

I arrived here with 2 children, not the original plan, and felt so comfortable wih the attention I received. The girls both ordered from the children's menu but revised that when the waitress steered them in a better direction. Only one child ordered from it and the other was advised to take food from the deal I ordered. It reduced our bill, food was delish and the waitress got a good tip! Also means we will return. Any chance of one opening in or around Clontarf???????

profile_review

Buenos Aires Grill
Unit 2 Castle Way, Golden Lane, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

We dined here on Saturday with living social vouchers. We had chicken wings to start, I'm not a big fan of wings but the coating on these was delicious. 2 mr fillet steaks with decent chips and salad followed which could not be faulted in any way. The steaks were melt in the mouth. We never order desert but we spied a chocolate desert ordered by other diners and ordered this chocolate lava to share. He reckons it was the best part of his meal, it was that good. The restaurant was packed, this was our second attempt to get a booking. The service was great too. Will definitely return.

profile_review

Merchants Bistro
The Montenotte Hotel, Montenotte, Cork

Had a lovely meal here, thai red curry, mmm. Folks had equally delicious meals, tastes of which were half heartedly offered. The view was amazing even though it was dark, pity I couldn't see it in daylight. The restaurant was quite but there was a soft buzz about the place, lovely relaxed atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and helpful too.

profile_review

ely gastro bar
Grand Canal Square, (Next to the Bord Gais Energy Theatre), Dublin 2, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin

My first reaction was "what recession?". This place was buzzing at 5.30 on a Saturday evening. The atmosphere was great, with a mixed crowd, (given that a lot of ladies were just leaving the theatre after Dirty Dancing). The food was good, if a bit on the expensive side for what it was.

profile_review

Sandbar
193 Clontarf Road, North Dublin, Clontarf, Dublin

Went in for a casual lunch with friend, ordered chicken caesar salad, friend the salad nicoise. Service was good, they arrived promptly and both salads were plentiful. Coffees afterward were strong, just what was needed. Bill came to €20. Good value.

Hemmingways
2B Vernon Avenue, Dublin 3, Clontarf, Dublin

The food here is amazing, especially when you like garlic! The restaurant is small and intimate which lends to a very cozy atmosphere. The guidance of the owner is also welcome, he encourages interaction and will cater to your requests. I don't get here often enough!

profile_review

The Yacht (Clontarf)
73 Clontarf Road, Clontarf, Dublin

Returned, not impressed. Had the cod and chips. They were beautifully presented in a mini chip basket but when I took the fish out I discovered the chips were burnt. To be fair I did not complain because the meal had taken a long time to arrive, and it was getting late. Had planned another evening there but changed mind after that meal.

profile_review

Okra Green Howth
1 Island View, Harbour Road, Dublin 13, Howth, Dublin

Mmmm! The food was fab, service discreet yet attentive and the bill was not too bad either, €67 for one starter, 2 mains, one rice and one nan and 2 cobra beers. Only thing was that at 8pm/9pm on a Saturday night in Howth it was not even half full. Cannot understand why. Definitely will be returning.

The Station House Bar and Grill
Blennerville, Tralee, Kerry

This place never fails to live up to our expectations. Arrived with 8 children in tow last Wednesday evening with no prior booking. There was no table immediately so I did suggest that they might prefer to put us in the restaurant section (so as not to disturb other diners) but they came up with a solution within a minute. All of were seated quickly. Menus were a bit slow in comig down but once the orders were taken all was well. Hats off to the waitress who suggested Miwadi for the children. All 3 adults had a drink and a burger while the children ate more than their fill from the childrens menu. Total bill was €95.05. You can't beat that!

profile_review

The Roseville Rooms @ Faithlegg House Hotel & Golf Club
Faithlegg, Waterford City, Waterford

We ate here as part of a package, but it was fabulous food, goats cheese tart to start, roast sirloin for mains and just about managed a combo of ice cream and sorbet. The food and service were brilliant but the room was chilly. I thought the curtains should have been closed to help with that, but apart from that no complaints!

That's Amore - Malahide

Yummy breakfast here.. lovely treat on a Sunday morning which will keep you going tip dinner! Consistent food, friendly efficient service. Definitely will return..

Kinara Restaurant
318 Clontarf Road, North Co. Dublin , Clontarf, Dublin

We arrived to a lovely warm welcome and ordered our food with much anticipation. Then my husband became ill and I requested with much trepidation that our food be prepared to go. I say with trepidation as before when we had asked to take home our left overs we were informed with much indignation that this was not a take away! The attitude has obviously changed as it was not a problem and the wine was corked up for us. An expensive takeaway, but delicious! Will hopefully get back soon for a proper meal.

profile_review

Moloughney's Clontarf
9 Vernon Avenue, North Dublin, Clontarf, Dublin

Arrived for the tapas menu as it looked appetizing from seeing it on facebook. Had the salted cod which looked tiny but was amazing, with small bits of chorizo in it. Also had broadbeans (as I don't like them normally) in the spirit of adventure. They were ab fab, crushed with mint and a bit of parmesan. Himself had calamari for one dish which was plentiful and stuffed pork belly. Again, it looked small but was so filling, any more would have been a waste. €16 for 2 tapas and a glass of wine..

profile_review

Thunder Road Cafe
Fleet Street, Dublin 2, Temple Bar, Dublin

we were a group of 11 and were treated very well by our waitress. The food was lovely, I shared a starter so as to be able to finsh my mains. Good plan as the burger was amazing. no room unfortunetly for desert. it was a bit on the cold side where we sat surprisingly, as we were nearest to the kitchen.

profile_review

The Nuthouse
Howth Road, North Dublin, Clontarf, Dublin

lovely coffee, was there late in the afternoon and the smell of new dinners being cooked was tempting. The warm chocolate brownie was too good for words.

profile_review

The River Cafe
Raheny Shopping Centre, Howth Road, Raheny, Raheny, Dublin

we were a group of seven arriving for breakfast, think it startled them. A lovely premises and the take out menu for parties looked very appealing. Out of the 7, 5 looked for scrambled eggs. The first servings that came out of the microwave were rubbery and got sent back. We could hear the chef's reaction and were not too confident about what would be served in its place but to be fair the new scrambled eggs were perfect. Would return.

profile_review

The Cedar Tree
11a St Andrews Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Ate here last night, and I have to say that as usual we had a fantastic experience. The place was packed so the atmosphere was fab, only to be topped off by the belly dancer! Tabouleh and hummus to start and both chicken and beef shwarma for mains. The flavours in the food are so good, I can still taste it. Keep up the good work! I asked to take home some of my tabouleh and the manageress gave me extra, looking forward to a snack later...

McHugh’s Wine & Dine Restaurant
59 St. Assam's Park, Dublin 5, Raheny, Dublin

The atmosphere was great for a Sunday evening, lots of small groups there. We were a large group and while the menu was a bit limited the food was delicious. The childrens' menu in particular was great with a great variety to suit all tastes, real food, not processed. Look forward to returning with a smaller party to sample the full menu.

Cape Greko (Malahide)
Unit 1 First Floor, New Street, Malahide, Malahide, Dublin

Had a lovely evening here, great buzz about te place, restaurant was full and a great atmosphere. The bill for 10 people worked out at about €450 including wine and service charge. Very reasonable for delicious food.

Boulevard Cafe
27 Exchequer Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

Visited here at lunchtime. The tables had begun to clear so there was plenty of room, we had our choice of good tables. Went for the beef bourgignon and the boulevard chicken... yum to both. Lovely friendly service and refills offered on the coffees! Haven't seen that in a long time. Don't know why it took me so long to come back! Will be back again..

Tillies Cafe
18 St Gabriel's Road, Clontarf, Dublin

Visited with husband & 3 children for the new evening openings. All of us opted for the burgers, excellent choice. The kids burgers were so big, I clarifiedthat they were kids ones first! The chips were chunky, either double fried or cooked & then fried, either way, they were golden brown & cooked through which is so oftrn not the case with chunky chips. Delicious! Bill for 5 of us came to €65 Inc a glass of wine and minerals for 4. Will return... Service was good too...

profile_review

Nautilus
9 Marine Court, The Green, North Co. Dublin, Malahide, Dublin

Visited with children as part of family ocassion. Atmosphere and staff were excellent, food unfortunately very slow in arriving. This did not detract from the overall experience. I was particularly impressed with the waitress placing three glasses of water in front of my children. She did not ask them if they wanted a drink and it never occurred to them to ask for a soft drink. Well done!
