After looking for somewhere nice to take my wife on a date I picked this restaurant from reviews here. I am glad to say I was not disappointed. The food was very good. I got steak that was perfectly cooked and the accompanying pepper sauce was not too heavier or sticky. There was a nice, quiet relaxed atmosphere to the restaurant but still the staff were very attentive with being intrusive. A perfect place for a date. The food as in most Good Killarney restaurants is a little more expensive though.

Man Friday Restaurant
Scilly, Kinsale, Cork

Myself and my wife came here for our 5th wedding anniversary. It was my first time eating in the restaurant. The whole experience was wonderful. We both went for the €37.50 dinner menu. They were a very good choice on the menu. The food was gorgeous especially starters and main course. I had the rack of lamb while my wife had the steak. Both were cooked to perfection. It really was a lovely occasion. The service was very good and I like the layout and decor of the restaurant. The restaurant was extremely busy which I always think is a good sign. Saying that the service did not suffer as result.

The Oak Restaurant
The Killarney Oaks Hotel, Muckross Rd, Killarney, Killarney, Kerry

I have eaten in the bar of the Oaks hotel on a number of occassions as my in-laws like this place. The food is always fairly good though not exceptional. There is always a good choice available. It is a bar so it is occassionally noisey. Also I have notice that some of the staff have very poor english and we have had difficulty ordering. All in all it is a good choice for lunch.

Victoria House Hotel
Muckross Rd, Killarney, Killarney, Kerry

I was pleasantly surprise by the standard of food in the bar of this hotel. My family and I ate here twice while staying in the Killarney. The first day there was a carvery on. The quality of the meal was far ahead of the usual hotel/bar carvery. Everything was cooked to perfection. The veg. where fresh and tasty. The portions were big and the gravy complimented the flavours perfectly. The second day was mid week and we order off a menu. Once again the food produced was of a very high standard. I would highly remend this place for lunch any day of the week. I visit Killarney regularly and will definitely be visiting here on my next visit.

The Ambassador Restaurant
3 Cook Street, Cork City, Cork

As far as I am concerned this is the best Chinese restaurant in Cork. The Food is always gorgeous. I have eaten here a number of times (usually for special occassions). I have tried several dishes here and alI of them are a step up on most other Chineses I have been in. There is a lovely atmosphere to the restaurant and is a ideal place for a special date etc. The staff are very friendly and attentive but without being in the way either. This restaurant is more expensive then other Chineses but the extra you pay is well worth the money.

Aroma Chinese Restaurant
5/6 Emmet Place, Cork City, Cork

This is a great little Chinese. It was originally recommended by a Chinese work college. It's located across from the Opera Home. While it doesn't look much from the outside, it is nice inside with some nice views of the Crawford art gallery, Opera House and Emmit Place. The food is very tasty and have never been disappointed with it - I really like the auromatic duck. Prices are very good for the quality of the food. It's not the busiest of restaurant so I never had a problem getting a table without a reservation.

Milano (Cork)
8 Oliver Plunkett st, Cork City, Cork

Been to Millanos loads of times. I love the pizzas here so much so that I don't recall ever have pasta in this restuarant. I think for pizza they amongst the best in Cork. The restaurant is very child friend and therefore can be quiet noisy at times. Staff are very efficient and friendly(in general). My son love the children menu which is one reason we are visiting the restaurant more regularly. For parents with young children there are going nappy changing facilities here.

The Brook Inn
Sallybrook, Glanmire, Cork

Went here for Sunday lunch with my family. They have a cavery with 6-7 choices (Beef, Turkey, Roast Chicken ....). It was very good for a cavery. We try desert after and were very pleased with that also. Sunday lunch seem to be very popular here. It is a pub so that might be a put off for some people.

Il Padrino Pizza Pasta House
21 Cook Street, Cork City, Cork

I love this restuarant and eat here on a very regular basis. The pasta dishes are amongst the best in Cork. I can't comment on their other dishes as I always go for the pasta. There is a lovely Italian feel to the restaurant and is quiet a romantic place to have a meal. The staff are always very nice to us - however they know us at this stage. My only problem with this restaurant is that they use to have a 7:00pm or 9:00pm sitting and would rush you a lot as you got close to 9:00 sitting. This practice appears to have stopped the last fews times I ate there.

Scoozi!
2-5 Winthrop Lane, Winthrop Street, Cork, Cork City, Cork

Been there a number of times. Staff are always very pleasant and very efficient. Though the restuarant is always very busy you'll never be waiting long for a table or your food. The restuarant is always busy and has a great atmosphere. It's a great spot for a party. The food itself is very much American style food though it include pastas and pissas. It's always very tasty but slightly on the expensive side for what you get. Most dishes are served with chips and salad.
