Great food, great service, excellent value for money. Only downside is that the restaurant is at basement level so if you have a small child (ie. a buggy) it's awkward to get it down the stairs. Although they do a great range of food for children.

Eddie Rockets (Donnybrook)
Main Street, Dublin 4, Donnybrook, Dublin

A very reliable burger bar. We ordered two burgers with garlic and cheese fries. The service is fast and the food is much better than anything you'd get in a fastfood restaurant. It's not haute cuisine but I can't say I agree with any of the negative reviews.

The Sussex
9 Sussex Terrace, Upper Leeson Street, City Centre South, Dublin

I came here for lunch with a friend. A lot of people don't know about this place so it's a hidden gem. The food is lovely although some of the portions can be small. It is lovely for lunch. We ordered the cottage pie and chicken dish and they were both excellent. Very wholesome food.

Whitefriar Grill
16 Aungier Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

We came here for dinner one evening - there was a group of 6 of us. The food as lovely and the restaurant interior has a lovely bistro feel to it. The wine was lovely too. I am looking forward to coming here again and trying out the other items on the menu as everyone seemed to order lovely dishes.

Canal Bank Cafe
146 Upper Leeson Street, Dublin 4, Ballsbridge, Dublin

This is a lovely restaurant that I return to time and time again. We ordered the chicken wings and the portion size is large enough for two people to share as a starter - it is very filling. The burger and salads were delicious too. It has a lovely atmosphere and good service.

Samsara - No longer serving food.

Baan Thai (Ballsbridge)
16 Merrion Road, Dublin 4, Ballsbridge, Dublin

We came here on a Friday night to have dinner. It is a really nice thai restaurant that serves good quality Thai food. The portions are very large and more than enough. The menu is very good value and the restaurant location is great as there are many bars located near it.

Peploes Wine Bistro

This is the nicest restaurant I've been to in Dublin. The food is amazing and the service if possible, is almost too good. I will recommend this place to everyone I know.

We had a nice experience at this restaurant. There was a group of us dining out and we availed of the BYO option which made the meal great value. Our waiter was very friendly and chatty and didn\'t rush us so we had a very enjoyable evening. The food was good value for money.

The Chili Club
Anne's Lane, South Anne Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

We came here on a Friday night. It was a group booking so we were seated upstairs in the function room. It was great fun. The service was fast and efficient. The food was excellent - Thai food at it\'s best. The menu was a great price and everyone complemented the food and service. The wine choice was lovely and inexpensive. I would definitely return and recommend.

We came here on a Saturday night. The restaurant was really busy. They have a really nice menu with lots of choices. The service was excellent. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was lovely and served artfully. The steak was excellent and the bottle of Italian wine we ordered was great. The restaurant isn't cheap but you get a good service and nice food for your money.

Little Jerusalem - Rathmines
3 Wynnefield Road, Dublin 6 , Rathmines, Dublin

We came here one evening after hearing a recommendation. The restaurant was really busy. They have a large menu with a variety of different dishes. The food is very competitively priced. The service was fast and friendly. We were given free baclava at the end of our meal as we had seats that were very close to the toilets. It was a nice touch and a sign of attentive service.

Cafe Java - Leeson Street

I'm a fan of this place. I does great lunches so worth paying that little bit extra for a sandwich. The service is usually good and the staff are friendly.

If you're looking for somewhere to grab a sandwich for lunch, this place is ideal. The portions are huge and there is a huge variety to choose from in terms of fillings.

DIG IN
19 Lower Camden Street, Dublin 2, Camden Street, Dublin

Great place to go for lunch. The menu is simple but offers a good variety. The food is great value. The place was packed and there was a nice atmosphere. The portion size is huge....questionable how "healthy" the food is, but it's a nice place for lunch!

A grand little spot! Service was really good, we had a really attentive guy look after us for the night. Typical pub atmosphere. Standard pub food.

Bia Bar
The Drury Court Hotel, Stephen Street Lower, City Centre South, Dublin

Came here for lunch. Aside from the fact that it wasn't very busy, the atmosphere was great - really relaxed and really nice music playing. The service was really good, staff were very friendly. The food was lovely and such good value. We got the soup, sandwich and coffee....and it was really decent quality food too. I would recommend everyone to come here for lunch...it's great.

The Market Bar
Fade Street, City Centre South, Dublin

Came here last night for some tapas. We ordered 3 small dishes between two of us. The portion size for some of the dishes was huge and more than enough. The service was fast and our waitress was very friendly. I also ordered a white wine. It wasn't the nicest wine in the world but the food was so good that I was still happy with the meal altogether.

profile_review

Milano (Baggot Street)

Came here last night for a pizza. Lovely restaurant, same high standard as the other Milanos. Staff were friendly and service was fast!

profile_review

Mao Restaurant (Dun Laoghaire)
The Pavillion, South Co, Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

I like this restaurant. The food is lovely and the atmoshphere is good too. The staff are always friendly and the service is usually quite fast. I think the menu is overpriced based on the type of restaurant it is. There are many other places with similar quality food at much cheaper prices. However, in saying that, there are some good offers on at the moment.

profile_review

Salamanca
1 St Andrews Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I came here for a friends birthday. The staff were really friendly and accomodating. We ordered a selection of tapas. I wasn't overly impressed with the food when it arrived. The food tasted a little flavourless. The service and staff were very good but the quality of the tapas is questionable.

profile_review

Elephant & Castle
18/19 Temple Bar, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I had heard a lot of good stories about this restaurant so decided to try it for myself. Based on what I had heard and what I experience, I think it is overrated. The food is nice (even the chicken wings) but I don't think it is exceptional. The restaurant was really busy and as a result I found the service to be slow and a little messy.

profile_review

Cafe Bar Deli (Bray)
51 Main Street, opposite Town Hall, Bray, Wicklow

I came here for lunch during the week. The restaurant is lovely and in typical Cafe Bar Deli style. The food was lovely, very big portions. The service was fast and friendly. Would recommend!

profile_review

The Porterhouse (Bray)
Strand Road, Bray, Wicklow

I came here on a Sunday for lunch. The place was busy. It is quite large so there is loads of seating (inside and outside). The menu offers a big variety. The service is quick and the food was nice. It's exactly what you should expect for pub grub.

profile_review

Havana Tapas Bar
Georges Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

I came here for lunch one day. The restaurant was slightly grotty on the inside. The menu didn't offer a big variety. The service was fast. The food was nice although I thought it was overpriced for what you get. This might be a good place to go out at night but it isn't the best place to have lunch.

profile_review

The Mint Bar
The Westin Hotel, College Green, Dublin, City Centre South, Dublin

I find the food here is nice although it is overpriced for what you get. The range of menu items is also limited. The staff and service is good.

profile_review

Cafe Boulevard - Baggot St
132 Lower Baggot Street, Ballsbridge, Dublin

I have been here for lunch on many occassions and am always impressed with the quality of the food. I like the restaurant interior although it can sometimes be quite cramped when it's busy. The food is always top notch and I think it's good value for what you get.

profile_review

Cafe en Seine
39 Dawson Street, Dublin 2, Dawson Street, Dublin

Love the interior of this place. Came here for lunch and overall was happy with the food and service. However, I think it is slightly overpriced for what you get. In this economic environment, bars and restaurants need to be more competitive in terms of quality of food or price in order to stay alive!

profile_review

Solas (Wexford St)
31 Wexford Street, City Centre South, Dublin

I came here for lunch. They offer quite a good range of food for lunch. The place is quite dark as it is usually a place people go for drinks on a night out. The staff were friendly however the food was quite slow to arrive. The food itself was average, nothing too exciting. I ordered a chicken baguette. It was a generous portion of food and it came with chips (although they were slightly cold). I wouldn't hurry back here for lunch but if you're stuck for somewhere to go, it will just about do the job.

profile_review

Cafe Fresh
Top Floor Powerscourt Townhouse Centre, City Centre South, Dublin

I come here quite a lot for lunch as I find the food to be great - very fresh and healthy. They offer a wide variety of vegetarian dishes to choose from. The restaurant interior is a bit canteen like although it is nice and spacious. There are some extremely friendly staff here.

profile_review

Cornucopia
19/20 Wicklow Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Lovely food - good variety of food for people who are on alternative diets such as gluten free or vegan or vegetarian. It gets busy at lunch so you need to get there early to guarantee a seat.

profile_review

Harrys Kitchen Restaurant
22, Dawson Street, Dublin

I came here for lunch one Friday after being recommended to come here from several people. I was not disappointed. The loved the restaurant atmosphere and decor immediately. Castle Chinese Restaurant
3C Castle Street, Dalkey, Dalkey, Dublin

This is one of the only Chinese restaurants that I eat in. I have been here on many occassions and have always found the service to be fantastic and the food to be super. The menu is huge and offers a variety of chinese dishes. The restaurant interior is a bit old fashioned but that adds to the restaurants authenticity. The staff are so friendly and go out of there way to make any dining experiences very enjoyable. On a number of occassions, after eating with a group we have been given complimentary drinks after our meal.

profile_review

Pacinos
18 Suffolk Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

This is a great restaurant. It's in a great location in the heart of town, the food is super, great value and the service is fast and friendly. I have no complaints about this place so I'm not surprised it's such a popular hotspot!

I came here for dinner on a Thursday evening. The restaurant is gorgeous, really bright and spacious. The service was excellent, we were greeted and seated immediately. The menu is brilliant value for what you get. The wine list offers a lot of variety. The food was lovely and there was a good variety to choose from. I will definitely return.

The Port House
64a South William Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Came here on a Saturday afternoon. There is a wide choice of hot and cold tapas to choose from at very reasonable prices. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the staff are all very friendly. The food was average but definitely up to standard.

profile_review

Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK South Anne Street)
5 South Anne Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Came here for lunch on a Friday. The restaurant was packed...it's clearly popular for a reason. The menu has a wide variety to choose from...even for vegetarians. The interior of the restaurant is lovely and really nice music too. The burgers are humungous...tricky to eat but that is the only complaint as they are so good! The service was fast and friendly too. I will definitely be back!

This is a great place to go if you're looking for fast, healthy food, in a good atmosphere in the centre of town. I came here for dinner on a Thursday night. Bits and Pizzas
15 Patrick Street, Dun Laoghaire, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Came here on a Saturday for a pizza. The restaurant was busy but we were immediately seated and the service was very attentive. The pizzas were great, very tasty and great value for money. I have been here a few times previously and I always find the service and food consistently good. It's a great place to go for food at the start of a night out.

Farm Restaurant (Dawson Street)
3 Dawson Street, Dublin 2, Dawson Street, Dublin

I came here for lunch one day. The restaurant was not very busy. Our server was quite attentive. The restaurant has a lovely interior and is decorated well. I came here as I was under the impression that the food was quite healthy. I ordered the organic burger and my friend ordered the omellette. The portion sizes are huge so you would want to be hungry! Both the burger and omelette were very greasy and covered in oil so would question how healthy the really menu is. Although the food is natural and organic it may not be low in fat! Although it is quite tasty!

profile_review

The Queens Bar & Steakroom
12 Castle Street, Dalkey, Dalkey, Dublin

I came here for dinner one evening. The service was really slow. The staff were not particularly attentive and didn't seem to rushed to take our order. There were four of us eating and when the food arrived, one of the dishes was incorrect. We had to wait another 10 minutes before the correct dish arrived. Some of the food was overcooked and the chips were burnt. We had to wait about 20 minutes before our plates were cleared, then another 10 minutes to be offered a dessert menu. Again, once the menus arrived we were left waiting for someone to take the final part of our order. At this stage, we were tired of waiting so decided to ask for the bill instead. We had to walk over to the service desk to request the bill as nobody was paying any attention to our needs. It was Mothers day so I would understand if the restaurant was busy, but at the time we were there, only 50-60% of the tables were in use. Based on this visit, I would be reluctant to return.

Hugo's
6 Merrion Row, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Was at a birthday party here (about 15 people). We were seated in the basement of the restaurant. The interior was lovely. The service was excellent, the food arrived quickly so we were all pleased. The food was nice however if there is a group of people, you are only allowed the set menu (can't choose from the a la carte). Overall, like this restaurant and will return.

Milano (Dawson Street)
38 Dawson Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

Went for a Friday lunch. They are doing a lunchtime special offer which is great value for money - main course (pizza, salad or pasta) and a drink (beer/wine/soft) for €12.50. The restaurant was lively for the time of day. The service was ok, maybe a little on the slow side. I had a salad - not for the faint hearted...it was the heaviest salad I have ever had so doubt it was very healthy - tasty all the same.

profile_review

Carlo's Restaurant
63-64 O'Connell Street, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

Went for a Friday lunch. The lunch menu is great value and has a good variety of foods to choose from. The restaurant decor is very nice however it was quiet when we were there (about 4 tables occupied). The service was excellent and the food was quick to arrive. The quality of the food was ok, no complaints, but it is great value for money.
