I came here with my boyfriend and his family to celebrate a 50th birthday. I cannot find much fault with this restaurant to be honest. The only downside is the empty seats downstairs and there is no one to great you when you walk through the door. However, this was short-lived as the atmosphere upstairs was vibrant and full of banter. There was a massive hen party the night we booked in (a Saturday night) and even then it wasn't too loud. We were offered the early bird menu....which was fantastic considering it was 9pm on a Saturday! My boyfriend and I got the platter for starters, which had a great variety and was something different then we'd usually get. I cannot remember the name of the main course, but it was along the lines of chilli beef with rice and it was divine! the rice was so soft and the taste was utterly beautiful. Someone at my table got the steak...and you would not be disappointed if you were to order it! I got a chocolate gateaux for dessert which was also very nice. The service was friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend dining here!

Kafka (Dublin)
236 Lower Rathmines Road, Dublin 6, Rathmines, Dublin

I came here with my friend on a night out to visit her up in Dublin. We were on our way out to find somewhere to have a meal together and came across Kafka. It was a Tuesday night so it wasn't that busy, but the tables were nicely lit and there was a nice ambiance in the restaurant. Unfortunately, the food and service did not live up to any such standard. Once we sat down, we were given menus to browse. We were not asked would we like anything to drink and after about 15 minutes the waitress came to take our orders. I ordered the Risotto and my friend ordered the 'Moroccan Chicken Skewer' with Rice. When the food came out it did look appetising. I then asked for another glass of wine each. The food was awful in my opinion. There was absolutely no taste in either dish. I was stunned. I resorted to putting salt on my risotto to enhance whatever taste I could....but instead it still looked and tasted like an Uncle Bens microwave packet. I tasted my friends 'Moroccan Chicken' and I was disappointed aswell....the chicken had no taste either! It came with a Tzatziki Sauce which did not compliment the meal at all! When we left what we could no longer eat, the waitress came down to us, asked if we were finished and then proceeded to take our plates.....she didnt even ask us if we enjoyed our meal or if we would like dessert/another drink......nothing!!! We then sat there for a further 20 minutes before she came back down and asked would we like dessert which we then declined due to the utter lake of hospitality or consideration. When we went up to pay, we explained how there was no taste in our meals and that we were not asked for desserts until 20 minutes after our plates were picked up. The reply was as follows....... "Im sorry but the Moroccan Chicken is our most popular and I like it" and "We like to give our customers space between each course" 20minutes?? €52 for two mains and 4 glasses of wine and no proper apology! awful!

Uluru and Outback Bar & Restaurant
Dunmore Road, Waterford, Waterford City, Waterford

This is one of my favourite places to eat in Waterford! It is outside the city centre so parking is not a problem. There is always a seat available and orders are taken very promptly. I came here for a pub dinner with my boyfriend one Saturday. I love the decor of this place, its themed on Australia and has items on the wall and above the kitchen to replicate this. The tables are perfectly seated so theres no overcrowding. On this occassion we both ordered Stuffed Chicken with vegetables and chips. When it came out, it looked so fancy that you could see a lot of pride and effort went into it. The chicken was lovely and juicy, the mashed potatoes were covered in gravy and the stuffing was very tasty. I ate the whole lot! You get a good portion of chicken aswell. The staff were also very pleasant and attentive and I was very pleased with the overall experience. Its also a great place to go on a Thurs, Fri, Sat or Sunday Night as the crowd is full of all ages and is a different experience to town. A definate MUST -GO!!!

The Gingerman Waterford
6 Arundel la Waterford Co. Waterford, Waterford City, Waterford

The Gingerman is one of the best places for having lunch in Waterford. They have a brilliant menu, with all different kinds of things available that you are never stuck and they cater for all tastebuds. Every lunch I have gotten here was so tasty, and they give you such a generous portion that it is really worth the money! They have everthing from paninis and pasta, to steak ciabatta sandwiches and ribs and colcannon. On this occassion, I ordered the chicken panini with chips and my boyfriend ordered the beer batter cod. The chips were great in size and everything is presented well. The staff are one of the friendliest staff I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, they are always smiling and are so attentive! You really cannot fault the service! So if you have never eaten here or are in WAterford for the day, I would really recommend it.

Chez K's Restaurant at the Fitzwilton
The Fitzwilton Hotel, Bridge Street, Waterford City, Waterford

I came here with my boyfriend on Saturday night and I could not emphasise how much of a good time I had!! They have a special on at the moment where a couple can eat a 4 course meal + bottle of wine for only €55! amazing! each course was beautifully presented and tasted soooooooo good! i ordered tomato soup, spinach pie and pear tart......the pear tart was absolutely amazing! it came out hot with vanilla ice cream and I could not get enough!! My partner ordered black pudding for starter, which tasted wonderful and then had chicken and a creme brulee for dessert. He could not fault it either. the tables were nicely spaced apart so we were able to relax by ourselves and the staff were so friendly and nice. the free wine was super and was really worth it. We're trying to plan the next night we can go! highly recommend it :)

Bodega! (Waterford)
54 John Street, Waterford, Waterford City, Waterford

I am TERRIBLY disappointed with bodega the last time I was there. I was there with friends and one of them did not like her meal. She barely ate any of it, was so nervous to say anything that my other friend said it to the waitress instead. She didnt want to make a fuss and didnt order an alternative. When we got our bill, her meal was NOT on the receipt, so we thought fair enough and each paid for the rest. THEN 2 days later, my friend received a phone call stating that the girl who sent back her food was no longer welcome to dine in bodega anymore and that she refused (???) to pay for her meal!!!! I was there for the whole thing and we all checked the receipt before paying and paid the FULL amount quoted. I am so annoyed at their utter cheek and disrespect shown that i will NEVER be dining there again. Im shocked.
