This is my favourite place for breakfast or lunch in Galway. The menu is great and there are always a few specials on. It's not the cheapest place but its good and they care about serving local food. The staff are lovely no matter how busy they are. They are able to suggest gluten-free options. The building is lovely and old and charming although it could probably do with another ladies room since there is often a wait for the one existing one.

Ate here during Dine in Dublin week. Enjoyed delicious mussels, vension bourguignon and panna cotta. The food was all very good and in decent portion sizes, but the tables are quite closely packed and it can be hard to hear. I wouldn't come back for a special occasion or romantic night, but I'd definitely come back for a pre-theatre meal.

Great Thai food, good service and nice buzz. Even on a Sunday night it was full so we were glad we had reserved. The menu is quite varied and they have several coeliac friendly options. They have a set menu option which is decent value. Will definitely be back.

Cookes Restaurant & Wine Bar
28 Upr Abbeygate Street, Galway City, Galway

We had a nice night here, The setting is very nice and we found the service very good and not rushed. The food was tasty but would have expected something better considering the prices. Even though it was a nice evening I would not be too excited about returning because the food was not very special. Wouldn't recommend against it, though.

Good place to go if you just want a simple, quick, reasonably priced meal. it's often fairly quiet so can lack atmosphere. It's decent value considering that the portions are large. Even the half portions that are a couple of euro cheaper are enough for a meal. Not somewhere to go if you want anything amazing - the food is basic, but I've found it reliable. The menu has a wide range of fillings available.

I get lunch here regularly and I've never been disappointed. The staff are always friendly and even when the queue is out the door they have reasonably fast service. The burritos are the best I've had in Ireland. Only complaint I have is that the spiciest sauce is super hot while the others are all fairly tame - an option somewhere in the middle would be nice.

Citron @ Fitzwilliam Hotel
The Fitzwilliam Hotel, St Stephen's Green, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

We took advantage of the MenuPages deal for Citron and were absolutely delighted that we did. The food was delicious and we'll definitely be back. Very good service and some interesting options on the menu. The strawberry and basil dessert has to be tried, it was fantastic. They have a good value set menu too.

Paulie's Pizza
58 Grand Canal Street, Dublin 4, City Centre South, Dublin

Very tasty food but lacks coeliac options. The menu on the night was more limited than the one on their website which must have been out of date. Good service, really friendly. It was very busy so recommend making a reservation.

Juniors
2 Bath Avenue, Dublin 4, Ballsbridge, Dublin

Great for brunch on the weekend but make a reservation if you don't want to wait, because it's always busy. If you do have to wait however, they will give you a call when the table is free. Very friendly service. The tomato, avocado and bacon salad is delicious. It is a little bit pricey but nice for a treat.
