Restaurant Reviews from seodai
Kambo Chinese Restaurant
Cathedral st, Thurles, Thurles, Tipperary
Reviewed 30th May 2010 ( visited 30th May 2010 )A good Chinese to get a take away from, but if you go for a full sit-down meal the staff are a little too attentive, constantly topping up your water glass etc. it gets a bit annoying. The staff are super friendly and nice but they should really tone down the level of attention they give to diners. Otherwise the food is pretty good and cheap.
The Living Room- Dublin restaurant
Cathal Brugha Street, City Centre North, Dublin, Area Code:
Reviewed 30th May 2010 ( visited 19th May 2010 )The living room has a real student vibe to it (mainly because DIT is right across the road) so its the local student bar really, this gives it a really relaxed and chilled atmosphere. There are large screens for sports and also music. The drinks menu is pretty good and extensive and reasonably enough priced. The food is also pretty good although a tad over priced for this part of the city. The staff are very friendly and the service is pretty good. Overall a pretty good bar/restaurant for a quick pint and a bite to eat, or a lazy afternoon drinking and playing snooker.
65 High Street, Kilkenny City, Kilkenny
Great service, super cute cafe setting, so relaxed and chilled. Best of all; really great prices!
Mexico to Rome
23 East Essex Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin
With an Early Bird menu at €12.95 you cannot go wrong!! The menu is super extensive and the portions are huge. You will not leave here feeling hungry - and with everything from Mexico to Rome there is bound to be something to suit everyone....unless of course you dont like Italian or Mexican :P
7-9 Exchequer Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Blown away! I cannot believe that I've lived in Dublin for so many years and only discovered this place now. The food is the best Japanese food I've had in Dublin, the staff are incredible, and the night I was there there was a DJ playing some pretty great music. Best restaurant visit I've had in ages!! Go here!
Stars of India
Slievenamon Road, Thurles, Tipperary
After reading how positive the other comments on here were I decided to choose Stars of India over the other Indian restaurant in Thurles. I definitely am pleased with my choice. The restaurant itself is really modern and nice inside, the staff themselves are really friendly and polite and nice, and the food was great. I literally cannot find any fault with this place so I will definitely be going back and would highly recommend it to anybody!
38 - 40 Parliament Street, City Centre South, Dublin
I cant fault this place! They have this amazing offer before 4.45 where you get two courses and a cup of tea or coffee for €10. The food is amazing, the staff are super nice, there is a really great atmosphere. Its become one of my favourite places for lunch! Go here!
Taste of Brazil
32 Parliament St, Temple bar, Dublin 2, Temple Bar, Dublin
The service here was TERRIBLE, it took 30 minutes for the starters to finally come, the waiter just gave a meek "Sorry" and failed to come near us in the 30 minutes it took for the food to arrive. The food itself was nothing special, definitely not worth the wait. Prices are pretty cheap though, but I guess they have to be with food and service like that? I wouldn't be in a rush to go back there.
14 Parnell Place, Cork City, Cork
The service here was pretty pathetic, even though the place wasn't at all busy. The food I also found was very expensive for Chinese food, but on the plus side the presentation of the food was very nice and the food itself was delicious. Not too sure if I would go back here...
Scotts Bar & Restaurant
116 Oliver Plunkett Street, Cork City, Cork
Went here for a quick lunch on Saturday, the food was great, the portions were big, and the place itself was nice :) would go back here the next time I'm in cork :)
Wagamama - Stephen's Green
St Stephen's Green Centre, South King St, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Food was amazing, it was my first time here but i will definitely go back, they do a great lunch deal for 9.95 :)
Carr's at the Park Avenue
Main Street, Thurles, Tipperary
Went here for lunch and the food was pretty good, the portions were really generous and the prices were really reasonable too, my only complaint was the service, I didn't find the waiter to be the most friendly person I've met which kind of put a negative edge on the lunch. But in saying that I would still go back again :)
10 South William Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Went here with a friend one evening, the food was really amazing but I thought over priced for the size of the portions. the €5 cocktails were really nice though, but still not too sure if I would go back here or not...
Sous Le Vent
Parnell Street, Thurles, Tipperary
Really nice food, great menu choices and the waiter was really nice and friendly. Definitely somewhere I would go back to again :)
Murphys Pub (Tipperary)
Main St. lemore, Templemore, Tipperary
A really nice restaurant for pub-food, the portions are very big and you definitely wont be hungry after :) The place is really relaxed and the staff are nice. Good drinks there too :)
The Restaurant @ Marks and Spencer
Marks and Spencer, Grafton Street, City Centre South, Dublin
The food here can be really hit and miss, its a great place for a cheap lunch (they currently have a buy one main course get one free). Someday's the food is amazing and then others it just lacks something. The same with the service. The staff aren't particularly friendly and the service is generally slow enough. But I still come back here, - when the food is good here, its really good. Its a great place for lunch with friends, especially nice to sit on the terrace on a sunny day.
Luigi Malones Restaurant
5/6 Cecilia Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin
Went here last night for the early bird menu, the food was simple but really nice. the portions are very big :). Our waiter was really friendly the service was super fast..the food came maybe a little to fast? Also used the menupages voucher to get a free glass of champagne which was a nice bonus, would definitely go back here again :)
18 Suffolk Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
The food was really tasty but there wasn't enough of it!..I was still hungry after it, but waiters are friendly and the food was tasty even if the portions were not so big. The price wasn't too bad either :)
2-5 Winthrop Lane, Winthrop Street, Cork, Cork City, Cork
Scoozis is the perfect place for lunch to take a break from shopping. When I was there there was a bit of a wait to get a table (but this goes to show how popular it is). The wait was definitely worth it, the staff were very good, the food was perfect and the price wasn't too bad. Definitely somewhere I would go back to again and again :)
8 South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
The place isn't the nicest looking inside, but the food is fast and fills you up, however its overpriced for todays Dublin. The staff here though are very very friendly! Its perfect for that Chinese food craving after a nightclub! :)
The Front Lounge
Parliament Street, City Centre South, Dublin
This place is seriously over priced, somebody needs to tell them we're in a recession!...Although in saying that the venue itself is pretty nice and its a good place to go with friends for a chat etc. The staff are really friendly and nice too. But its not a place I would go back to too often, there are much better places nearby for cheaper prices.
Milano (Temple Bar)
19 East Essex Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin
The food here is really good, however it's a bit of a wait to get a table here! And once you do get a table your basically sitting on the person next to you's lap! They have plenty of room downstairs (and it was empty) but still the ground floor was really busy and cramped. However the waiters were really fast and friendly, and the food was great too.
Milano (Dawson Street)
38 Dawson Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin
I went here with a friend for an evening meal, we wanted to sit outside and it seemed as if were were a little forgotten about, it took the waiter a good 10-15 minutes to come out and take our order after he gave us menu's. But once the food arrived it was very good. I had the lasagna and it tasted really good. And it was nice to sit outside too and people watch even though our service was slower! But I would still definitely go back.
TGI Friday (Dundrum)
Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin
I've been to the TGI's on Stephens Green lots of times and I've come to expect a certain atmosphere and service when eating at TGI Fridays, but the atmosphere in Dundrum is not the same. The staff didn't seem as friendly, the service was very slow, and it was really hard to catch any of the staff's attention. I'm not too sure I would be in a hurry to go back to the Dundrum branch!
TGI Friday (St Stephens Green )
St Stephens Green, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
I really like TGI Fridays, the service is always very good and the staff are always very friendly. the food is a little pricey for what it is though, and the new two courses for €15 isn't really worth it as the portions as smaller. The €5 cocktails are very good though, and the atmosphere is feel-good and fun :)
Meeting House Square, Temple Bar, Dublin
I went to Eden on a date and it was a really nice place to go, the staff are really friendly and really attentive, the food was great too. The only downside for me was that we were sitting right beside the kitchen, I can see how this feature was a unique idea (to be able to see into the kitchen) but its not very romantic for a date! But I have been back since and I would go again :)
Skillet Pot Restaurant
Slievenamon Road, Thurles, Tipperary
A nice restaurant for cheap and filling food :) A good place for lunch to take a break from shopping. The menu is pretty extensive, and if theres something not on it that you want they can make it for you if possible.
Kambo Chinese Restaurant
Cathedral st, Thurles, Thurles, Tipperary
A good Chinese to get a take away from, but if you go for a full sit-down meal the staff are a little too attentive, constantly topping up your water glass etc. it gets a bit annoying. The staff are super friendly and nice but they should really tone down the level of attention they give to diners. Otherwise the food is pretty good and cheap.
Nenagh Road, Thurles, Tipperary
Amazing service, amazing food, amazing surroundings. Although its pricey, it's definitely worth it, the dining experience is spectacular, first you are shown into a reception room where you can order a drink while your table is being prepared in the dining room. The Georgian decor is stunning in both the reception room and the dining room. The staff are super attentive and friendly. The food is perfect and the portions are very generous. Absolutely nothing bad to say about this restaurant.
St. Stephen's Green, St Stephens Green, Dublin
Dandelion is absolutely my favorite place for after work drinks and a bite to eat, the venue is really well decorated and comfortable. The €5 cocktail menu is pretty amazing and the staff are really friendly. Its a place I go to at least once or twice a week. The Dandelion nightclub itself is very good too :)
Captain America's Cookhouse And Bar
44 Grafton Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Cheap cocktails (Monday to Wednesday - €3!) good food, loud and fun atmosphere, make this restaurant one of my favorite in Dublin, its good for both lunch and dinner, and on Wednesdays theres karaoke!..The food is a little over priced for what it is though, but still good!
Cafe Kylemore - O’Connell Street
O’Connell Street, City Centre North, Dublin
A great place to get breakfast, really great location and the breakfast is pretty good (and very cheap!). It may not be the trendiest place to eat and its a bit old fashioned (even after being redecorated), but you get what you pay for really :)
Bad Ass Cafe
Crown Alley, Temple Bar, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
Even though the service is slow, and the staff are not the friendliest, I still would go back to the Bad Ass Cafe, the food is pretty good, and if you get a window seat you can people watch as you eat, its one of my favorite casual restaurants in temple bar.
Avoca Cafe (Suffolk Street)
Avoca, 11 Suffolk Street, City Centre South, Dublin
The Avoca cafe is a great place to go for a quick lunch, the food is really tasty and pretty reasonably priced. The staff are also super friendly. Its something different in the city center.
Harry Street, St Stephens Green, Dublin
Really modern and nice furnishings here, the place feels really upmarket and nice. The staff were really friendly and service was fast. I would definitely make a few repeat visits here, even if its a little pricey.
The Living Room- Dublin
Cathal Brugha Street, City Centre North, Dublin
The living room has a real student vibe to it (mainly because DIT is right across the road) so its the local student bar really, this gives it a really relaxed and chilled atmosphere. Cafe en Seine
39 Dawson Street, Dublin 2, Dawson Street, Dublin
A really great place for after work drinks, the cocktails here are pretty amazing and have gotten cheaper in recent times. The decor is really impressive and the place itself is really large, however on a busy evening it can fill up and can be hard to get a seat! The staff there are really friendly and the service is pretty quick. The atmosphere is a little more upmarket than many other restaurants around the city center however it's still pretty relaxed and a good place to unwind after a day at the office :)
