Were in Sligo for BHol weekend, and friends invited us to the Courthouse. We were happy to oblige and duly the Courthouse obliged us with their great food & service. Early bird portions were sufficient, great warm chicken salad, and tasty deep fried brie. Again the veg...One of our friends suggested the breaded deep fried courgettes and they were so good we had to have more...As ever a treat and better again an unexpected one...

No 1 Fade Street, Off Georges's Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Hadn't been in town on a Saturday night for ages and a big birthday with a big gang was daunting. We wanted a buzz but we didn't want to annoy anyone...AND did we choose right...Great buzz...great set menu (especially hake, half chicken, Banana Tarte) great service....then upstairs to No Name bar...GREAT Birthday....do it again anytime....

Bon Appetit
9 James Terrace, Malahide, Dublin, Malahide, Dublin

We were excited about the tasting menu and it certainly lived up to its billing. It was a surprise menu but a really pleasant one at that. Without giving too much away the Trout was stunning and the Lamb...the best we'd ever tasted. Excellent service especially when we ordered the Portuguese wine and discovered the Maitre D was from where we had first had the wine. An excellent experience, one small suggestion a more thorough clean downstairs would help & a few flowers...Otherwise flawless, but wonderful food, we'll be back & this time with friends...

Fureys Pub
Moyvalley, Moyvalley, Kildare

Long weekend, Traffic slow so came off the motorway and stopped in Fureys. Used to stop regularly but it had been a while.. As good as ever, Burger, Steak sandwich (lovely fried onions) basket of chips to feed an army & friendly service with busy & buzzing atmosphere. Well worth the spin off the road, remember to get receipt to get back onto motorway.!!.. I'll be back sooner again.

McHugh’s Wine & Dine Restaurant
59 St. Assam's Park, Dublin 5, Raheny, Dublin

Was in Mc Hughs on sat night with 10 friends...a bit rowdy but most enjoyable. Food service and house wines were very good. particularly the mackares with wasabi mayonaise, dont normally like mayo but this was delicious. Wings great as were the prawns & decent portions. Monkfish main good, as was the steak.Deserts & good effient service made this a memorable night and we'd definitely go back, a hidden find off the village track.

Marcel's
13 Merrion Row , City Centre South, Dublin

5 of us dined in the bright mooreish room. Great value lunch menu for 2 course or 3. Asked for a starter portion of the risotto, which is pearl risotto...Probably could have had a slighty stronger pesto, but good nonetheless as was the suckling pig starter. The lamb roast of the day special sounded too good to leave and was. Also it was refreshing that veg came on the plate & the mandatory chips were delicious. Was going to leave desert but when i saw the glossy chocolate finger & was assured that it was the best 'snickers' desert ever had to try it and it was...the Best... Fab service, even showed us the rooms upstairs. So an excellent business lunch and will definitely be back for the eve meal, soon.

It's mid term, the Missus wants to go out...we're broke...BUT...wait I saw a deal on Menupages...so off we go.Food average, atmosphere, busier & buzzier than expected, service EXCELLENT. We were advised to come for the music at weekends. So we did, 4 of us this time with voucher in hand and am i glad we did, excellent buzz, food was much better, must be a weekend chef but all roung really enjoyable & all the better for being great value too.

BANG Restaurant & Bar
11 Merrion Row, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

An occasion meriting an outing was approaching but budgetary constraints meant it was steak & good wine at home. Along comes the menupages tasting deal and BANG we were going out!! The menu was good, amuse bouche very tasty, salmon, so, so, but the tasting wine with this, a Horgelus…was delicious, I hoped that when we enthused we might get a top up, as while the service was very good, friendly & informed, the tasting wine portions were certainly for tasting and by the time the food came they were gone... Still I’ll track this wine down for more. The Hereford beef was delicious, well cooked and with a robust gravy, my lovely wife had French beans with this and they were the best she’d ever had…in a well suited tasty pesto…All in all a good night, if a bit stingy with the tasting wines & service charge on everything including voucher left a mean aftertaste. However good food, great buzz, excellent service... if greedy owners….

The Courthouse Restaurant
Main Street, Kinlough, Leitrim Town, Leitrim

Visited the courthouse for our summer feed and wasn't disappointed. the sign of a good restaurant is when you have decided and then hear the specials, you have to change your mind as they are so good. We had to do this, the starter of scallop on squid ink risotto sounded too good to leave, and tasted like more. Similarly the hake with crab & tomato sauce was delicious. Who'd ever have thought you'd rave about the side of veg, but it is worthy of mention, fresh crunchy, perfectly cooked & seasoned. My wife loved her lobster parcel with mascarpone & tomato sauce with flecks of crab, she was lucky i didn't get at it as it too was delicious. Her main was new too, Irish lamb with lentils, rosemary & red wine reduction. This was both unusual and tasty part of it was like a lamb spring roll crunchy & bursting with flavor. follow this with the four seasons desert and with plenty of attentive & knowledgeable service and the courthouse delivered,Good buzz, great food and good value. We'll be back !
