My husband & I absolutely LOVE this place. It's consistently reliable in relation to yummy food, lovely friendly staff, privacy in terms of proximity to other tables and fantastic value for money. One day for starters we ordered the "Mezze Platter" for 2 for starters. It was so big and filling we'd no room for our mains but they suggested we take home our significant leftovers.Normally I'd be mortified to suggest this & loved how easy they made it for us.Equally, had a brill night there with female friends drinking lots of cocktails!!!Perfect for every occasion. A perfect example of good food and service.

The Brock Inn
Ashbourne Road, The Ward, Dublin

Visited here with my friend. We'd gone for a drive and were looking for a while for somewhere to go so we were starving. I'm a big believer in places to eat where you can get ordinary decent food for a fair price. This ticks the box. If you're too lazy to cook, pop around here and have a guilt free homemade meal! Great choice on the menu too.

Oscar Taylor Restaurant
Island View Hotel, Coast Road, North Co. Dublin, Malahide, Dublin

Very busy and we had to wait a long while for a cramped overcrowded tabe. The food was very ordinary and we left feeling that it was just a very average pub grub experience.

Richy's Bar & Bistro
Wolfetone Street Clonakilty, Clonakilty, Cork

Went there with another couple for a night out. The menu was well thought out.Its always nice to experience something different and special when eating away from home. The meal was wonderful with everybody delighted with their choices. The food was tasty, well presented and perfectly cooked. The service was very friendly and we had a great night. We couldn't fault anything about the restaurant. The bill was reasonable for four people.

Galileo Cafe Clonmel
4 Gladstone Street, Clonmel, Tipperary

I've been here twice and both times I was put sitting near the door. It was FREEZING but for some reason they refused to give us another seat on the second occasion even though there were empty seats around. The carbonara was stodgy and the garlic bread was not good. We didn't know about bringing your own wine as on first occasion we hadn't been drinking (they don't have a licence) so we had to go without while others were tucking in around us! Service was not good.

Tara Restaurant (Tipperary)
Slievnamon Rd. Thurles, Thurles, Tipperary

Tara Restaurant is suitable as a place to pop in for your lunch in Thurles while shopping or as a meeting place for breakfast the morning after the night before! Food is simple and filling.

Niamh's
1 Mitchell Street, Clonmel, Tipperary

Niamh's is a grand place for a pit stop when shopping. I agree it may be a little overpriced and seats are very close in proximity but have to disagree re staff. They are usually extremely efficient and pleasant.

Hans Cafe
Moor Lane Cashel Co Tipperary, Cashel, Tipperary

Café Hans is THE best place to visit in Cashel and a really good base between Dublin & Cork. It is a spin off of the old and distinguished Chez Hans, famous with us locals and the county as a whole. They don't take bookings so if time is tight, allow for a ten minute wait. There is always a queue but is worth waiting for! The food is fresh and fabulous- alimited menu is done well.Desserts are to die for.Its biggest plus for me in the age of conveyor belt service is that I have never ever felt rushed or put under pressure to leave to allow others to sit. It's obvious to me that the people running this love what they do and want you to too.

Il Corvo Restaurant
98-100 Upper Drumcondra Road, Dublin 9 , Drumcondra, Dublin

Good crowd and a lively buzz greeted us on arrival and we expected this to indicate a good quality Italian restaurant. However first impressions can be deceiving and the poor service , poor food and to add insult to injury the big bill means we won't be in any rush to return.

Washerwomans Hill
60 Glasnevin Hill, Glasnevin, Glasnevin, Dublin

I completely agree with Frank. I was a big fan of the Washerwoman. I recommended it to 3 of my siblings who live on the south side who came a few times and spread the word. I arranged staff nights out there (25 of us) and my husband and I were there on our own & with other couples approx once a month over the course of a couple of years. On our last (never to be repeated again) visit, we went with my parents in law. We felt in the couple of times leading up to this that the food had slipped back a lot. Anyway, my father in law only wanted a starter & main course & ordered but his same two choices were available on the early bird menu as well as a la carte. The rest of us ordered from early bird and when it came to the bill, his meal cost MORE than ours even though there was no difference in portion sizes! When I queried this, the waitress was incredibly rude. I asked to speak to a manager and was told no-one was on duty.I rang back the next day and spoke to the owner's wife. She told me that the waitress was new and I probably mistook a lack of English for bad manners. I am extremely understanding of those learning a new language and know when rude is rude!!! Further to that, re: the bill I was told it was our job to inform them which menu we were picking off not theirs and said that was as much as she was prepared to say. I hasten to add we haven't been back but colleagues of mine have since had disappointing experiences there. Such a pity as the area really needs a decent, dependable restaurant.
