Avenue Cafe & Restaurant
Main Street, Maynooth, Kildare

I visited the Avenue with my family it was part of a birthday celebration and we had booked a section of the restaurant. Everything went well until we were leaving and I had paid my bill with my credit card as i was opening the door the manager called out that not everyone had paid. The family returned and spoke with him pointing out the member of staff who took their money at the till. People who paid by cash were refused a receipt the manager explained that a party over twelve were not issued receipts if paying by cash. We broke down the bill and it showed that they had all paid for their meal. All the guests gave generous tips to staff. The manager stated that some people ordered coffee which wasn't paid for this was explained by the waitress offering coffee when some guests refused the offer the waitress stated it was free so a four people accepted coffee. When this was put to the waitress at the till they agreed this was the case. What was supposed to be a wonderful family celebration was ruined. We were very upset over the encounter in front of a packed restaurant. The following day I went back to the restaurant and spoke to the manager explaining to him that myself and my sister had been overcharged on our credit cards. He admitted on the night the waitress were confused as the restaurant was packed. At no point did he apologise or offer a refund for overcharging us. At no point during the discussion could he justify his comments of the night and each time we went over the menu charges could he prove we did not pay.

Dada Restaurant
45 South William Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

on entering the restaurant there is a sign stating free wine corkage all week we knew this when booking our table earlier in the week. on paying the bill we were asked to pay for corkage we pointed out that the sign outside stated free corkage which had since been removed. The waiter was extremely rude and demanded we pay for corkage on leaving he shouted at us to prove there was a sign outside we were very distressed at our treatment. Basically we were overcharged which was originally to be a lovely night turned out for us to be a nightmare experience.

La Mere Zou
22 St Stephens Green, Dublin , City Centre South, Dublin

What is more wonderful than to walk from a cold chilly day into a restaurant that offers a lovely warm atmosphere. This is what we encountered in La Mere Zou. The staff are friendly and efficient ensuring my friend and myself are looked after. Now to the food what a delight pure passion must go into the preparation and cooking. I had Duo of smoked fish: salmon and haddock beignet, avocado, lemon and dill My friend opted for Brie, sage and butternut squash galette, roasted pumpkin purée (v) we both agreed they were excellent starters. The mains I opted for the Roasted chicken supreme, pearl barley and vegetable broth Pan seared fillet of hake, celeriac purée, kale, chanterelle mushroom, black fig and hazelnut. Both dishes cooked to perfection my friend raved about the roasted hazelnut sauce . For dessert my friend had Classic crème brûlée, sugar snap tuile which he adores and when abroad searches out restaurants who offer the dessert on the menu. He claimed it was one of the nicest he had ever tasted. I opted for the cheeseboard a great selection to round of a fabulous meal. I recommend this little gem of a place to someone who want top quality food, service and atmosphere this restaurant provides it all

I have been visiting this restaurant with a friend of mine for many years its a favourite haunt of ours. The food is always excellent and the quality is superb. We always have a two course meal my friend goes for the starters and I the dessert as always they are delicious and mouthwatering. We both have an eclectic taste in food and have dined in different restaurants in Dublin city and the array of food now on offer is marvellous. Yet we continue to return to the 101 Talbot for its intimate and cosy atmosphere and wonderful food and friendly service when we are celebrating a special occasion

Pattaya Thai and Chinese Restaurant

Visited ;with a family party of thirty hoping to have a lovely family meal unfortunately it was a total disaster. The waiter was extremely rude throughout the meal the food wasn't up to the standard expected. I had organised the venue and was upset at how my family was treated. At one point the waiter shouted at one of the guests he was totally out of order, We will never visit this place again.

Yamamori Sushi, Tengu
38-39 Lower Ormond Quay, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

I brought my sister and granddaughter to the restaurant as it is one of my favourite eating places. I had been to a party the night before and one of the guests was raving about the food. My sister had never tasted Japanese food was interested in trying something new. When we sat down the waiter brought us green tea which i feel is a nice gesture as it adds a welcome atmosphere to the place. I had seafood yakisoba one of my favourite dishes. The meal was delicious the prawns succulent and plentiful as with the rest of the fish. The noodles were cooked to perfection along with the veg. My sister and granddaughter settled for the Beef Tataki which they both agreed was mouthwatering the steak cooked to perfection. I had raved to them about the sticky toffee pudding which is the best I have ever tasted. Unfortunately it wasn't on the menu. We decided to skip dessert next time hopefully the next time my sister is in Ireland on a visit they will have it on the menu. The meal was good value for money. We left feeling sated promising to return.
