Have been to this restaurant on a number of occasions and they never disappoint. Pre-theatre menu is excellent value with 3 courses for €24. On this occasion I had the beetroot and goats cheese salad for starters and the duck for my main, absolutely delicious cooked to perfection and decent sized portions. Place is always busy so I would advise making a reservation first, especially at weekends. Service is great too our waiter was extremely helpful. My only complaint would be to see the pre-theatre menu extended a bit longer even just on the week days as you have to leave at 7.45 and can sometimes feel a little rushed. The pre-theatre menu is fantastic but the a la carte menu can be quite pricey so if your on a budget stick to the pre theatre menu! Will definitely come back again.

Had the late bird menu here with friends. We were seated downstairs which was quite empty so would have liked to have a better atmosphere as upstairs was buzzing We waited nearly 40 minutes for our food to arrive as we didnt order any starters, felt that the service was slightly slow in this regard, however our waiter was very nice and when we asked him what the delay was with our food he explained that the burgers were made to order. I hade the salmon which was gorgeous, and pavlova for dessert which was nice although very filling. Great value for money and the wine selection was great. Would definitely come here again.

Herbstreet
Hanover Quay, Dublin 2 , Grand Canal Dock, Dublin

Had dinner here before a show. Didnt book a table so had to sit outside which was quite nice as im a smoker! Menu was quite limited but the food was quite nice. I had the seafood platter which consisted of two crab claws three large prawns, potted salmon and brown bread. It would have been quite filling if I liked the potted salmon and bread but I didn't and was still hungry after it so ordered sweet potato fries which were delicious. Service was excellent and would definitely go back again if I was going to see another show.

The Counter Suffolk Street
20 Suffolk Street, City Centre South, Dublin

Would definitely recommend a visit to the counter. Great menu for burger lovers, make your own or order from their signature menu. I made my own and was a bit apprehensive that I wouldn't like the sauce but was delighted when they put the sauce separate! The kids couldn't finish their meal as they had the two mini burgers but they were quite large! The garlic and Parmesan chips are lovely and the onion strings are a must have! It was a family meal so myself and my partner shared the chips and the onion strings were for all of us. Very large portions and none of us could finish the meal! Will definitely return, great menu, great service and good value too!

Farm Restaurant (Dawson Street)
3 Dawson Street, Dublin 2, Dawson Street, Dublin

Went here with my partner as we had a voucher. Very large portions, I had the hummus for starters which came with mixed crudités and pitta bread. It was very nice although there was too much celery! I had the salmon for my main which was perfectly cooked, but again extremely large portion so I couldn't finish it! The food was lovely but reminds me of home cooked food. Overall it was a very enjoyable meal with good service and great value for money.

Joels Restaurant
Newlands Cross, Naas Road, West Dublin, Clondalkin, Dublin

Went here for a family meal on a friday evening.Waited on a table for about 20 minutes. Food was really nice, service was excellent. They don't rush you which is also a bonus. Great deals on as well but even without the deals its great value for money. Good sized portions portions and the kids were happy with their choice of menu which included ice cream. Overall will definitely come back, very family orientated and casual so if you are looking for a romantic or quiet meal I wouldnt advise coming here.

Captain America's Cookhouse And Bar
44 Grafton Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Went here for a family dinner, extremely busy but we were seated quite quickly. I ordered scampi which was very nice and the kids meals were excellent value. Even though the place was packed the waitresses were very efficient and came back to our table a couple of times to check if everything was okay. Great value for students especially as its buy one get one free Monday to Friday, I was delighted by this and produced my student union card and got one meal free! overall nice atmosphere and great value for money but prepare to wait for a table when busy.

Thunder Road Cafe
Fleet Street, Dublin 2, Temple Bar, Dublin

Went here for a family dinner and was delighted to see the kids ate free on weekends before 7.The place was packed with families so I would recomend it for a family dinner. Even though it was busy the waitress was very attentive and service was fast. I had the salmon which I asked for grilled, with a side order of remoulade sauce, which is basically tartare sauce. The fish was cooked to perfection and really tasty. My partner had the chicken and chorizo pasta which was very rich but one of the nicest pastas I have tasted especially for a non italian restaurant. I had a caramel crunch for dessert which was lovely, my partner had the death by chocolate cake which he shared with the kids as it was very rich but very nice. The kids had spaghetti bolognese and beef burger, which were good portion sizes especially considering they ate for free! Overall great for family dining, girls nights out, birthdays etc but I wouldnt recommend it for a quiet evening out, it was a very enjoyable dining experience and will definitely bring the kids back here again.

Hard Rock Cafe
12 Fleet Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

Went here for a late dinner, I had chicken wings for startes on which they gave a choice of 3 sauces, I chose the heavy metal which were supposed to be the hottest but in my opinion were very mild in comparison to other hot sauces I have tasted. For the main course I had the salmon which was extremely overdone and lacking in taste, I had a side order of mash which looked as though the were a week old! My partner had the blackened chicken pasta with chorizo, the chicken was quite tasty but the pasta was over cooked and there wasnt much chorizo. The waitress was nice although we did have to call her a couple of times to get the bill. For dessert I had a hot fudge sundae which was huge and big enough for 3 people to share, however there was no cream on the top which was stated in the menu and I couldnt find the waitress to ask her for some. Overall, not a great dining experience, very overpriced for the quality of food and will not be coming back.

TGI Friday (St Stephens Green )
St Stephens Green, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Brought the kids here for a family dinner. I had the buffalo wings for starters which were extremley hot, but I think their hot sauce is amazing! I was very disappointed with my main meal, I ordered the shrimp for the main course which were extremley overcooked, the veg on the side were carrots and broccoli which were directly from the freezer! The chips were overdone too but I disguised the taste by ordering hot sauce for the side.My partner ordered pasta which was quite tasty, and the kids meals are great value. However I got the kids milkshakes and the waitress serving didnt ask if we wanted small or large ones and just brought out large ones which were nearly double the price! this in turn filled the kids up before their meal arrived and were unable to finish. Overall a little disapointed with our visit and feel it is a little over priced.
