I have just read some reviews on Milano in Dundrum and I would like to say that as a Coeliac I have just had a lovely meal with excellent service there. I explained my position before we sat down and that I had brought my own pasta. The girl at the desk seemed to understand all about the condition as when my daughter went upstairs to the bathroom she overheard her telling someone in the kitchen how careful they had to be. When my dish arrived she came up and asked me to wait as she wondered if the sauce was ok for me to eat and having checked came back and told me it was safe.I thought she was very helpful and also the waiter who made up a dish for me as they actually have very few pasta dishes on the menu (mostly pizzas). For such a reasonable restaurant (they didn't charge me the full cost of a dish on the menu I presume because it was my own pasta but I would have been quite happy to pay the full cost)they went to a lot of trouble and were so pleasant about it. I will be back!

This was our second visit and we have enjoyed our meals on both visits very much.On this occasion we were using a Menupages voucher which makes most restaurants great value! My husband had chicken tikka to start and lamb rogan ghost both of which were very good.I had a lamb starter which unfortunately I have forgotten the name of but it was a kebab, and butter chicken as a main course. Both were really lovely although I found the chicken dish slightly spicy but that is a personal taste and others might not agree. As I said at the beginning we both really enjoyed the meal but unlike other reviewers and other diners the night we were there we were not offered a complimentary drink before we left . We probably would not have drunk it but I do not like the feeling of some preferred customers being offered it and we were not.A gentleman with an English accent who seemed to be an owner -or definitely more than just a staff member, was chatting to us and recommending us to a meal and wine deal for our next visit while we were getting the bill and paying etc so it was not just just an oversight that we were not offered anything. Its little things like that that put people off places, no one likes to be made feel less important. willI I go back ?maybe but there are lots of other places to try first.

I booked a table for 4 for lunch today for a friends birthday. I picked it because it says on the website there are plenty of options for coeliacs which one if the party is. We all had different meals and everyone was pleased. I had the risotto and it was lovely, lots of chopped veg and beautiful flavours. One of the nicest I've had. Others has Cajun chicken salad, beef and another chicken dish all good. The only disappointment came when we went to order desserts, the waiter came with a plate of sample desserts and put it down beside the coeliac and said you look away I'm afraid you can't eat any of them. Now I don't blame him for joking about it but coeliacs lose their sense of humour in situations like that and she asked have you something else gluten free- he said no just ice cream, the owner didn't make anything today. That's what accompanies dessert not the main thing in my opinion. We were all disappointed and to be honest I won't go back, don't say you cater for people with allergies and then decide not to bother, at least be honest and say you only have main courses suitable. By the way she is diagnosed and not someone on a fad diet. Sorry Boulevard, you let me down, we won't be back

Little Caesars of Rathfarnham

The early bird in this restaurant has to be the best value in Dublin. €10 for 2 courses! I had chicken wings to start- lots of them and really tasty. My husband had meatballs to start and had Valdostana chicken as his main course. He was very happy with both. I had chicken Alfredo and it was really nice. I would like the receipe for the sauce please! I think this restaurant is fantastic and great value and as a result it is full every evening.

The Morgue
Main St, Templeogue Village, Templeogue, Dublin

I went here yesterday with a friend for lunch .The carvery is lovely and the 2 staff behind the counter there are very helpful. I am a ceoliac and normally am limited to a salad (or baked potatoe if I'm lucky). The only other alternative is a full dinner which I don't want. When I asked yesterday if they had anything I could have they gave me a half portion (normally only for children and older people) and then they went off and got gluten free gravy made for me. I thought they were both very helpful. The food was also lovely and my friend was pleased with hers too. They also have a good selection of fillings for sandwiches which they make up as ordered. I will be back!

The Studio Cafe
54 Rathfarnham Village, Rathfarnham, Rathfarnham, Dublin

I met a friend in the Bistro last wednesday morning for coffee. It was busy all the time we were there although not full and there was a buzz from lots of chatter. I find it hard to rate the food as my friend had the smallest scone I have ever seen and I'm a coeliac and had to go out to the car and bring in my own bar as they had nothing I could eat. More and more restaurants/cafes the type of places where you just stop for coffee are carrying "cookies" which are indivually wrapped and have a long shelf life I would have expected them to do do too but the person at the counter said they don't stock anything gluten free as they don't sell enough and they "go off"! Well surely they could risk buying half a dozen wrapped biscuits with a shelf life of 6 months ? too much to ask? Nice place but I won't be rushing back (nor will my friend for her tiny scone).
