Place wasn't busy but that to be expected for a Tuesday, food was lovely, service excellent from very friendly staff. I'll be happy to return.

Sawadee Thai

Worst restaurant experience ever, shockingly rude service and poor quality food. We had a Groupon voucher which seemed to immediately discourage the waiter from taking any interest in us having a pleasant evening as opposed to encouraging us to return, which was a possibility as we live locally. He showed us to a table by the kitchen door despite an 80% empty room, when we suggested sitting elsewhere we were grumpily told he'd have to "check with the manager", we sat at a better table anyway, the restaurant remained 80% empty during our meal. One starter was inedible, waiter didn't enquire why it wasn't touched. Main courses were similar quality to a poor Chinese takeaway, while we were once asked "everything OK", we replied "fine" as the staff obviously couldn't care less if we were happy or not so there was little point in complaining and upsetting ourselves. Didn't stay for coffee or dessert and will NEVER return. They quite obviously dislike customers with vouchers and don't understand the concept that it gets in new customers, other reviews here seem to have drawn the same conclusion. If you want an enjoyable meal go elsewhere, if you want to be treated rudely and eat poor quality food then come here.

Excellent food, terrific atmosphere, great service. Exactly what you expect from a high quality restaurant. We used a Menupages voucher which the manager mentioned on arrival, he said himself that this was great value and was more than happy to accept it (some places seem to treat voucher customers as second class guests but not Roly's). A pleasure to eat here, we'll be back.

Meghna Tandoori
8-12 Terenure Place, Dublin 6, Terenure, Dublin

Zero atmosphere (early in the evening so understandable), service from the waiter was fine, but the manager needs a refresher course in how to serve customers, he was surly, unfriendly, and couldn't care less if we enjoyed our meal or thought the food was nice. We had a Menupages deal for 4 courses plus wine, starters were VERY small, mains were quite small, deserts and coffee were well below average. For some reason desert was restricted to a limited choice even thought the Menupages deal didn't specify this and all the other desserts were the same price anyway! We were told this in a distinctly unfriendly manner but by then couldn't care less as we'd already decided we were never likely to return. I am convinced that because we had a Menupages deal we were treated as less than ideal customers, not the way to encourage repeat business. We have been here on numerous occasions before and the previous management of Meghna were very friendly, and actually cared if customers enjoyed their meals. Very very disappointed and will NOT be returning, ever.

We go here often for lunch, great value at €10 for main course plus drink. Quick, tasty, and nice staff.

Small local restaurant of which I wasn't expecting much but had a really nice meal. food was terrific, huge portions of very tasty food, particularly the chicken wings! We were there with 2 small children and the staff coudln't have been more helpful and friendly. Not especially cheap but excellent value for money.

Boulevard Cafe
27 Exchequer Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

Went here for the "Christmas Lunch Menu" for €25 - plus 12.5% service on groups of 6 or more. Probably the worst value for money I've experienced at lunchtime in Dublin, no cooked starters except soup, all just easily assembled course such as pate, or goats cheese. Main courses were VERY small portions, my turkey and ham was laughably small, this was probably a blessing in disguise as it was like a poorly reheated school dinner. Others in the group had steak (€5 extra), all said it was grizzly and badly cooked. Then came dessert, no choice at all but a plate with a "portion" of Christmas pudding and Baileys cheesecake, each was no bigger than a matchbox and easily the smallest dessert I've ever been served, everyone else's was just as small. Service was slow, it took 2.5 hours to serve a 3 course lunch! Coffee was cold. The manager came over to ask were we all returning to work but showed zero interest in whether we had enjoyed our lunch or not. There are dozens or other places in Dublin city centre that offer much better value for money. I won't be going back again, ever, even for free.

Unit 2, Nutgrove Shopping Centre, South Dublin, Rathfarnham, Dublin

Overpriced, bad food, grumpy unfriendly staff. I cannot stress how bad the "kids menu" is, their adult menu is below average for the price but the kids food is the cheapest they can buy in and hope to get away with. When asked even the staff admitted to me that they wouldn't eat it! Steer well clear, really.

India Gate

Best Indian "takeaway" you'll find in south Dublin. Not the most charming of staff in the world, but maybe thats only to takeaway customers. Phoned in orders are always ready on time, makes a nice change from others.
