Went here last night with my niece and her boyfriend who got a recommendation from their friend and it did not dissappoint, such good food at reasonable prices is what this country/city needs. We couldn't fault any of the six dishes we got, and the portions were very generous, so much so that we had enough in two dishes each which is usually not enough in a tapas restaurant. The pate was particularly good as was the scallops but honestly I'm already trying to find an excuse to plan a trip the Dun Laoghaire branch of this restaurant. Definitely a lovely evening with a nice atmosphere, helpful staff on top of the great food / prices. If had to find anything to comment on, it would be that they could do with a little more choice of spanish wines.

I visited Dada on Friday and was wondering what it would be like as I'd often passed by and thought that it looked interesting and I was happily very pleased with our visit. The atmosphere was lovely, very typically morrocan and the food was beautifully cooked, with a nice variety on the menu and the wine was also very pleasing, happy to see a nice light spanish at a reasonable price. Staff were very attentative and the only weee issue was when we were paying our bill, as there was a mistake made. We would definitely go back there. Lovely night with lovely food and wine at a reasonable price.

Bon Appetit
9 James Terrace, Malahide, Dublin, Malahide, Dublin

Having booked Bon Apetit for our friends 50th birthday, we were terribly disappointed to be put in the basement brasserie, when we expected to be in the main restaurant. It was a beautiful sunny day and to be stuck in a basement with hardly any other diners was very depressing, and we were not told on booking that this would be case. Our meal was overpriced for a tasting menu, just that, a taste of 5 courses, and even our main course was the same meat as one of the starters, pork which was quite obviously cheap cuts, and two of our main courses had very bad quality pork to boot. When we arrived there was a party, who had obviously booked the whole of the upper floor and we were glared at like "where are you going" without even a welcome or an apology for the behaviour. The only nice thing about the whole event was that our waitress was a very nice girl, although she knew little or nothing about any of our questions on the food. We were embarassed for our friend whose birthday we were supposed to be celebrating, it was more like a wake.

Rolys Bistro
7 Ballsbridge Terrace, Dublin, Ballsbridge, Dublin

I have been in Roly's many times and always loved it even if it is a bit on the expensive side but on reading Paulo Tulio's review of the new Bistro, I had to try it out and was pleasantly surprised to be still able to get great food and wine at such reasonable prices at a time when we're all on a salary cut. It is also a brilliant place to go on your own if you really feel like having your tea out and a quick glass of vino. As I live in the area they'll definitely see me again very soon. I would highly recommend it for any ocassion. And there take away stuff and specials seem to be excellent too although didn't actually check them too thoroughly.

Chapter One Restaurant
18/19 Parnell Square, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

Had dinner here recently for the 1st time and was quite disappointed with the evening. Got a very warm and friendly welcome with lots of recommendations but there the service ended. Food itself was quite good, service quite bad, waitress spilled sauce on one of my party and tried to rub in off with a napkins, crazy, had to stop her and obviously never mentioned it to her supervisor as no apology or mention was made when we were paying. Attention wained as the evening went on and only a bare thank you for our generous tip. The place was cold and atmosphereless and we were almost swept out the door at the end of the night which I found insulting. Food in the main was OK for the price but to serve a main course just with mash and no vegetable is very unbalanced. None of us will be in any hurry back I'm afraid.
