After golfing at Old Head, this is considered to be the 19th hole of the course. They were very welcoming and shared some stories (craic) with us. The beer was cold and we couldn't resist the soup and fish. Both were flavored great and served in an attractive manner. Service was attentive and friendly. The restaurant overlooks the sea and the views were relaxing.

Went for brunch and cocktails and had a nice, relaxing time. The food was pretty good but the service really stood out. Our waitress was attentive, professional and very competent. She had a keen eye and was very observant to the other patrons. I would recommend you give it a try, particularly with the value pricing they have in place now.

Oliver St John Gogartys
57/58 Fleet Street, Temple Bar, Dublin

Fun place with great music and ambience. The food and service were terrific. The only bad thing was the drunk guy sitting near the entrance. He could barely stand up and was causing some concern to other patrons.

Old Head Restaurant
Golf Links Kinsale, Kinsale, Cork

The views are amazing. We stayed overnight and ate in the restaurant that evening. We were the only guests in the place and they had a lobster tank in the entry way. I couldn't resist eating a lobster that I had seen the fishing boats catch from our day on the golf course. Unfortunately, you can imagine my surprise when they charged me 70 euro's for a pound of lobster! Oh well. It was still worth the experience.

The White House
Pearse Street, Kinsale, Kinsale, Cork

Had a very nice lunch here when we arrived in Kinsale for a stay of 3 nights. This is probably one of the friendliest bars in Kinsale and the staff are all polite and helpful in assisting you with your selection. We had the soup of the day (tomato and pepper) and it was simply awesome! The brown bread it was served with was lovely, as well. Really great atmosphere, location and ambience.

The White Lady Restaurant
Kinsale, Co. Cork, Kinsale, Cork

Had dinner here after our caddy at Old Head (John) recommended the restaurant. We were not disappointed and were made to feel very welcome. The portion sizes were good and all of us had a great time. The bar area is well sized and you have the option of eating in a more private dining area, as well.

Jola's Restaurant
18/19 Lower O'Connell Street, Kinsale, Cork

Had a really lovely time at Jola's during our first night. Treated politely and the staff were all very friendly. The food was good but we really had a nice time with all our friends.

Alex Restaurant
Conrad Hotel, Earlsfort Terrace, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Had dinner here when we stayed at the Conrad Dublin. The food was extraordinarily and, I must admit, unexpectedly good. We got in a bit late and there weren't many other patrons in the restaurant. We were treated very well and the wait staff were pleasant and very friendly.

Shanahan’s on the Green
119 St. Stephens Green, Dublin , City Centre South, Dublin

We were able to visit Shanahan's again this year and ate in the downstairs bar. The atmosphere is very comfortable. The three of ate filet mignons and a rib eye steak that we all agreed were superb. The service was exceptional and we couldn't ask for a better meal in Dublin. Well worth the price!!

Brewbaker Coffee Shop
22 South Fredrick Street, City Centre South, Dublin

Stopped in for breakfast and coffee before leaving Dublin to head to Kinsale. The place was clean and the breakfast eggs and bacon were hot and very tasty. First time I had ever been asked if I wanted a "white coffee" and didn't really understand what it meant until it was served. Convenient location and the cleanliness and friendly service would make me go back.

Fishy Fishy Cafe and Gourmet Store
Guardwell Street, Kinsale, Cork

We heard about this place from the owner of the B&B we stayed in while visiting Kinsale. The place was simply too crowded and very, very noisy. The food was very good but a bit on the pricey side for the amount of portions that were served.

Jim Edwards
Short Quay, Kinsale, Cork

Tried Jim Edwards for dinner when we visited on a golf vacation. The restaurant appeared to be understaffed. While we were seated promptly, we didn't see anyone to order a drink for 20 minutes. Once they realized we were there, we had no problem, however. The food was fresh, prepared well and was simply delicious. There were other restaurants in town that we want to visit when we return, but this is a good, solid choice that won't disappoint.

Hoby's Restaurant
5 Main Street Kinsale, Kinsale, Cork

The restaurant was recommended to us by one of the caddies we used while playing Old Head. We were made to feel very welcome and the service was warm and attentive. The food was amazing and looked very appetizing on the plate. The restaurant was filled with locals and that is always a good sign that the food is good. I would highly recommend that you try Hoby's the next time you are in Kinsale. There are plenty of restaurants in town but this was one of the few that the atmosphere, food, service and value all maxed out.
