Had a beautiful three course meal with my husband and sister in law & her husband. The girls shared the chicken wings which were a generous portion and delicious. The boys had the black pudding starter and the crab starter, both equally good but the portion size of the crab was disappointing. For mains was two sea bass which went down a treat as well as a warm seafood salad which was so-so and delicious Beer battered Fish & Chips. Good selection of desserts and staff were pleasant & attentive. Great value overall, I will be back.

We popped in last night before heading to Vicar Street. It was very busy but we managed to get a table downstairs. The staff were friendly and efficient but the food was a bit of a let down. The three of us had main courses, one pasta dish which was delicious by all accounts but unfortunately my pizza was stodgy and my friends chicken dish was cold. As we were in a rush we did not complain, but were disappointed as we had very positive experiences there before. Perhaps we got them on a bad night?

FIRE Restaurant and Lounge
Mansion House, Dawson Street, Dublin 2, Dawson Street, Dublin

Was here for romantic dinner on Friday night, the atmosphere was lovely and the staff were top notch. The meal didn't get off to the best start for me as my duck salad starter was a disaster. The duck was greasy and grisly. However my better half was very impressed with his crab cakes, the portion size was just right. Main was much better with a delicious steak for me and jumbo prawns fro him. And this was well spaced out between courses. No dessert for us as we were full. It's a bit pricey in these times, so it will be a while before we venture there again.

Frankies Italian Bar and Grill
42 Temple Bar Square, Temple Bar, Dublin

We had a lovely meal here last Saturday night. I was slightly hesitant but it was recommended by a friend. I would def. go back. I was surprised to see an all day every day special of 29.99!! From this special I had chicken wings to start, steak (not huge but just perfect for me!) for main and a lovely tiramisu for dessert. Just one draw back in that they give cheap little wipes to clean your hands after the chicken wings but that could be overlooked. Great value for Temple Bar on a Saturday night.

Taste Italy @ Hotel Kilkenny
College Road, Kilkenny City, Kilkenny

We ventured into the resturant for a meal with our two small children, and although it was quiet we were met by very efficient and friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them! They had a varied kiddie menu which kept my two haooy and the dinner menu did not disappoint either. The starter of egg mayonaise and cesar salad were just a perfect size. The mains of battered cod and fish cakes were also very good, but my other half couldn't finish them! Unfortunatley, no room for dessert (Boo!) Overall, a throughly enjoyable evening!

Da Vincis Restaurant (Leixlip)
Main Street, Leixlip, Kildare

After placing our ordre with a friendly waitress, we then waited over 30 mins for our starters before the manager approched us and told us they had misplaced the docket! Was it a sign of things to come?? Not at all the starters were good when they arrived, although the calamari was overcooked and therefore chewy. But the mains of pasta and meatballs definately made up for it! Excellent house wines of both white and red complimented our dining experience. After a rocky start a truly lovely meal. We will be back.

Arc Cafe Bar
Liffey Vallley Shopping Centre, Fonthill Rd, West Dublin, Liffey Valley, Dublin

Had dinner in the bar area last night. Good choice on the menu but the steaks were very pricey. Ended up having the fich&chips, good portions and tasty. The other party had the gourmet burger which went down a treat. The place was under staffed, but those who dealt with us were friendly & efficient. Good comfy chairs, so we didn't want to leave.
