The Pig's Ear restaurant
4 Nassau Street, Dublin, City Centre South, Dublin, Area Code:
Reviewed 10th March 2009 ( visited 06th March 2009 )We had the early bird menu, it was very nice, if quite "minimalist". The food was presented beautifully & tasted quite good, at €17.95 for 2 courses it is quite cheap.. No frills (or veg on my dish) at all. I will go back as it has a lovely atmosphere but mightn't go for the early-bird again.

Reviewed 30th December 2008 ( visited 20th December 2008 )Nice restaurant, not hugely impressed with the decor, it doesn't seem like much was done from whatever the premises was used for previously. Had the venison for main course, it was overcooked, a medium venison also ordered was cooked less than my medium rare. Also got very cold as exterior door opens into restaurant and (very polite) waiter kept holding the door open for customers. Not bad but not what I was hoping..
Les Freres Jacques
74 Dame Street, Dublin City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin
We ate here for my birthday, it was a special occasion so we were hoping it would be nice, it was beautiful, the food is fabulous and the service is attentive but not too much, we had a Christmas cocktail which was beautiful, the only issue was that it worked out quite expensive, for 2 people, 3 courses each, 1 bottle of wine and 2 cocktails - €180. Still for an occasion it really is worth it. Would recommend it as a treat.

We tend to go here when looking for somewhere to eat at the last minute as the food is very reasonably priced and the staff are generally really nice. I had the mozarella spring rolls - very tasty & the chicken broccoli tagliatelle - good too. Lasagne didn't go down well tho.. Very good value overall.
Milano (Dun Laoghaire)
1 Harbour Square, Crofton Road, South Co. Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin
Had lunch here, opted for the leggera pizza, (pizza with salad in the centre) very good idea. Food was very good, perhaps a little expensive for lunch but very enjoyable. Very helpful staff also. Recommended.

We had a fabulous dinner here late sunday evening, it was really enjoyable, with fabulous food and really friendly helpful staff. The atmosphere is really cosy and comfortable. I enjoyed the food so much I took home what I couldn't eat there! Definitely will return. Full marks.

We had the early bird, at €25 it's good value but was nothing special really. Nice overall but pretty standard food. In lovely surroundings, it's a safe bet for edible food, served quickly at a reasonable price..
Town Bar and Grill
21 Kildare Street, City Centre South, Dublin
We ate here on New Year's Eve, it was a fabulous night, great atmosphere & service, fantastic food & a complimentary glass of bubbly each to ring in the new year! What more could I ask for! It really is worth the visit, slightly more expensive but worth every cent. By far the best restaurant I've been to in Dublin.
55, Main Street, Rush, Rush, Dublin
I absolutely love Bombay Bistro, have been getting take-aways on a regular basis for ages now and went to the restaurant for dinner with friends before Christmas, they absolutely loved it, said it was possibly the best Indian they'd ever had.. The food is fab, there's so much of it and the staff are really lovely, I have nothing bad to say at all. 10/10
The Living Room
Bridge Street, Galway City, Galway
Stopped here for a bite to eat on the way to Connemara, the nicest brunch I've had in years, the service was fab, really friendly helpful staff, great variety of food and so much of it! Wish there was something this good in every town.. Definitely recommend it.

Had the early bird here last Saturday evening. Really tasty, good portion size, lovely presentation, their bread is fabulous! Service was excellent also, definitely going back in the future. Recommended.
Main Street, Rush, Co Dublin, Rush, Dublin
I have eaten here on a few occasions and the food has always been lovely, the staff are very friendly and anything I have eaten has been fresh, clean and tasty. Good value, large portions, very nice pub grub.
The Queens Bar & Steakroom
12 Castle Street, Dalkey, Dalkey, Dublin
Ate here as part of a party of 8 on a quiet Tuesday evening. Staff were very pleasant; attentive without being annoying. I had the burger which was very tasty, huge portions. The chips were very pale & undercooked. One of our party (having eaten there before) had asked for them to be done well and they were much better... Good atmosphere would definitely return.
The Forty Four Hotel & Bar
Main Street, Swords, Dublin
Very nice atmosphere, section set aside for diners until 9:00. Good tasty, fresh food, served promptly. Staff are very attentive and pleasant. Perfect for what it is. Will be back.
The Star Bar & Restaurant
Main Street, Swords, Dublin
Went into The Star on friday night for a quick bite before the cinema, before we had even sat down a waitress had asked us what we would like to eat so we asked to for a minute to look at the menu. 15 minutes later no one had taken our order so my partner asked the barman if our order could be taken. He basically told him to sit and wait. We waited another 10 minutes but were still completely ignored. Floor staff here spend too much time chatting & running back & forth to notice the customers. We left without having ordered - which again went unnoticed. Will not be returning.
6 Merrion Row, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin
We ate here during the week, very pleasant atmosphere, food was very well cooked and presented, good portion sizes, staff very attentive. Everyone was generally pleased with the dishes, the Roquefort tart for starter was the exception, far too much cheese, basically melted Roquefort on a plate. Very enjoyable evening though. Not as dressy as I had expected, although maybe moreso at the weekend.
The Mermaid Arts Centre, Bray, Wicklow
Having eaten here on a number of occasions during my lunch hour I have found the service to be very slow particularly for larger parties. Good quality food & staff are very nice but prices for drinks, pastries are extortionate. €2.50 for a can of minerals is excessive!
