I had the Kiwiburger, very unique burger! Definitely recommend it if you go there! Nice atmosphere, a little pricey as all I got was a burger for around 11 euro, no chips or drinks included. My friends each got a drink, one ordered small the other one a large, for only 30 cents more the large had way more bang for the buck! Would come back here again, their menu has endless possibilities!

Koh
6-7 Jervis Street, Millennium Walkway, Dublin 1, City Centre, Italian Quarter, Dublin

Food was not good, vegetables undercooked and green curry was bland aside from the monster amount of chilies the put in it. It took forever to get the food and even longer to get the bill. We actually had to get up and go find someone to get the bill and pay. Might come back for lunch when prices are cheaper, but dinner was too expensive for so little satisfaction!

Chai Yo
100 Lower Baggot street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Great staff, always friendly. The food here is like none other, no other Asian restaurant can compare! If we can't sit down here, I get takeaways as I work down the street from this location. Delicious! Try the honey duck, so goooood!!!!

The Waterloo Bar
36 Upper Baggot Street, Dublin 4, D04 R6Y6, Ballsbridge, Dublin

Food was average, but I liked that they had an organic option, we got the leek and pork sausages with mash. Nice atmosphere, nice staff, good area, will be back.

Taste of Brazil
32 Parliament St, Temple bar, Dublin 2, Temple Bar, Dublin

Came here for my birthday, we got the special (steak, egg on top, beans and rice), it was average. The decor looked really cheap and a bit tacky, like a travel company rather than a restaurant. Waited forever for the food...Don't think we'll be back.

Delicious, tasty, nice service, a bit pricy but great atmosphere, will be back!

The Arch Bistro
Above the Glenside Pub, Landscape Road, South Dublin, Churchtown, Dublin

We went here for a Sunday lunch for our 1 year wedding anniversary since we saw all the great reviews on the website. When we arrived, it wasn't packed but it was very busy. I felt the decor was nice but probably would've had a better feel later in the evening. The food was absolutely delicious, we started with the white onion soup and then my other half had the duck leg and I had the slow roasted pork belly for mains. When he had a taste of mine he actually pouted the rest of the meal wishing he got it because it was so delicious lol. I can't believe how affordable it was as well! We would have gone with a 3 course but we were absolutely stuffed after the mains! The service, the food and the value are all worth coming here, even if it's only once, which won't be your last. Only downfall is it's so far out from the city but it is seriously worth the drive!

Il Corvo Restaurant
98-100 Upper Drumcondra Road, Dublin 9 , Drumcondra, Dublin

Saw this place and loved their advertisement out front, a little sign that says 'Conserve water, drink more wine' Just thought that gave the restaurant it's own uniqueness and I was excited to see what else they offered inside. We got the 2 course, I got the mussels cooked in a delicious broth to start, hubby got the basil and tomato soup with fresh baked bread. For mains I got the cream of chicken with creamed spinach instead of pasta which they had no problem exchanging for me, especially at no extra cost. Hubby got the cannelloni with chips which he said was not the best cannelloni he's had, but it was good. One small complaint would be the portions aren't what you'd be expecting for the price, a little pricey and somewhat small. All in all a good experience and delicious food but pricey as I said before, all came to €43 for 2 courses and tea. Might try finding somewhere else if you're on a budget and hungry.

Eddie Rockets (Stillorgan)
Stillorgan Shopping Centre, Stillorgan, Stillorgan, Dublin

I love the theme and decor of this restaurant chain. Came here before a movie and it was very crowded. It took a few minutes for us to be seated and once we were given the menus, we were forgotten about for 20 minutes. We made eye contact with multiple people from the staff and they just looked away until I finally got fed up and had to waive one down. When the waiter finally did take our order, he was overly nice, probably trying to make up for ignoring us? Food was good, I got the new pineapple burger and other half got the chicken sub and we shared a mint Aero shake and chili fries. All delicious for what it was and the price wasn't bad either. We may be back.

ely gastro bar
Grand Canal Square, (Next to the Bord Gais Energy Theatre), Dublin 2, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin

We went here for lunch on Valentine's Day, not wanting to sit around at home, this place is about 5 minute walk from our house, so we decided to try it out. The menu had some unique choices. Husband got the Craggy Island burger which he said was okay but wouldn't order again. I got the lasagna with a side order of chips. The waitress was very nice and made sure I knew it was vegetarian because a lot of people prefer meat in theirs, but I kind of felt like she was treating me like a child because it clearly said vegetarian on the menu. Absolutely delicious but very small portions for the price. Also the waitress took forever getting our bill. It almost seemed as though once she was finished taking our order, another girl brought out the food and we were completely forgotten. We may be back, not sure if any time soon though.

La Peniche @ RIASC
Barge Riasc, Mespil Road Jetty, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Sorry for such a late review! My husband booked this for Valentine's Day. We had never been here but passed it many times always saying we'd try it sometime. I was greeted with a red rose and a menu made specially to take home for memories. We had a 5 course dinner with a glass of champagne and a cruise of the canal included. Absolutely beautiful! I can't praise the food enough! And the service was incredible, very attentive. We were completely stuffed by the time we left! We will be back, can't wait to try everything on their menu! However don't think I'll be taking a cruise during the daytime, don't like the thought of traffic along the canal watching me enjoy my food lol.

Plan B
Manor Place, Stoneybatter, Dublin

We were in the area house searching and decided to get a quick bite to eat. Saw this little place and decided to stop by, interesting name and fit our situation too (Plan B)! We started off by sharing bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. For mains, husband got the risotto with bacon, cheese and pear, it was absolutely delicious! Wasn't fond of the texture of the pear in it, could have done without, but overall great main! I got the warm chicken salad and was satisfied with the portions and the mixture of ingredients in the salad. Good deal, total bill came to €30 for 2 mains and a starter we shared. Also the staff were very pleasant. If we end up moving around here, this may be our new little spot. Definitely would recommend it and we will be back to try other options on the menu!

Bits and Pizzas
15 Patrick Street, Dun Laoghaire, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

I used my menu points for a €30 voucher, no restrictions! I was amazed waiting for some kind of catch but the waitress was very happy to take the voucher, no questions asked. Got the two course for €15.90. Lasagne as starter was delicious, not too filling. Husband got the garlic mushrooms with melted mozzarella! I couldn't stop stealing them! My pizza was Papadew, my husbands was the Carbalzano or however how you spell it :P The food really was yum. The waitress asked if I wanted extra parmesan and she ended up leaving the shaker there. Needless to say I made good use of it! Service was great, very pleasant and attentive people working there. Never had a waitress make sure our meal was ok so many times without being annoying. Very pleased over all. Will be back even though I live in the city centre and there's a bit of a commute to Dun Laoghaire. Overall this place was amazing and I will defo be back very soon to sample more on their menu.

The Hairy Lemon Traditional Pub & Restaurant
Stephen Street Lower, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Very good food and customer service. Lovely little pub atmosphere right in the middle of the city centre. Next time I'll order the chicken stir fry, with noodles, it was sooo good!

Sushi King now closed on Dawson St
Gochi Japaenese-French Fusion Now Open, City Centre South, Dublin

Food was ok, not a great selection when it comes to sushi but what do you expect with packaged sushi? I've had better and I don't think I'll come back because it's the exact same sushi they offer in shops, boring and expensive.

Dew Drop Inn
(Centre of) Kill Village, Naas, Naas, Kildare

Absolutely delicious! Came here for a horse show in Kill and saw this place advertised. We got the bangers and mash and tea, so nice! HUGE portions! We could barely finish our plates! And the atmosphere was lovely! Felt like I was in a ski lodge or something it was so comfy with the fire going! If I'm ever back in Kill I will definitely come back! Only complaint would be it took about 20 minutes for the food to come out from when we ordered, so make sure you have the time to wait that long to enjoy your meal, not sure how long it takes for food to come out in general but judging from my experience since it wasn't that busy, this may not be the place for a quick bite of food.

Kokoro Sushi Bento
19 Lower Liffey Street, City Centre North, Dublin

This place is like an 'on the go, sushi lover's' dream come true! I saw a place like this at Victoria station in London and I am so happy that Dublin has finally caught on to a cheaper approach to sushi! The prices are very affordable and you have so much to choose from! This will be my new place to get a quick bite to eat when I'm shopping in town, no more tiny portioned, over priced, week old store bought sushi!!! Oh and the customer service was the best I've received in quite some time! By the way, they only accept cash, so make sure you have some on you!

Ciao Bella Roma
24/25 Parliament Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

Have to say what brought me in here was the starter, main and a glass of house wine, all for €8.95! Not a bad deal at all! However not sure if I'll be back soon. The service wasn't good, it seemed like the waitress didn't enjoy her job and kind of took it out on our group of 4. She was only there to take the order, we had to wave her down to give us some water with our food, she brought the water back in a jug with some glasses, didn't pour it, just walked back to the kitchen without saying anything. I was a little turned off at that point. The food was ok, I got the bruschetta which was great, they skimped on the basil but loaded on the tomatos, for mains fetticcini alfredo, tastey, but had too much cream! The house wine was bland and quite salty, not a good wine, but I guess you get what you pay for. My husband got one of the pizzas, it was huge, he had to share it with everyone at the table, so can't complain there! When it came to getting our bill it took about 20 minutes, waiter after waiter walked by us seeing we had finished our food ages ago, yet no one offered the bill. Again we had to wave down another waiter who didn't say a word to us, just let us pay and off he went too without a word! Doubt I'll be back!

Citi Bar
46-49 Dame Street, City Centre South, Dublin

Went here for drinks and a light after dinner bite. We ordered a few cocktails which were original and at a great price, €5 until 11:30pm! I've never seen a drink special go so late especially on a Friday night! Of the cocktails I got I wasn't fond of the Pink Panther, it reminded me of medicine I took as a kid for an ear infection, taste and the colour! Blah! Other than that the tapas are nicely portioned at an amazingly cheap price around €2.50 to €3 for a small portion. Could add up if you're really hungry but they offer a full sized portion for around €8.50 or so. Will be back, mainly for the drinks! Atmosphere was lovely, very dark and intimate, would be great for a romantic dinner as well!

Boulevard Cafe
27 Exchequer Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

Went here for my birthday lunch and the food was amazing! Service was great and the atmosphere was cozy and laid back. We got the early bird special, you can't beat €16.95 for a starter, main and a glass of wine with tea/coffee, at least not at this quality! I will be back, may even be my new place to meet for lunch!

profile_review

Jimmy Chungs
Eden Quay, City Centre North, Dublin

Pretty dang good is all I have to say! LOL The food is unique compared to other Chinese restaurants I've been to and at a fair price too. Will definitely come back but maybe in a bigger group, not the place for a romantic dinner, good for lots of company.

Cucina
Unit 9A, Kings Court, Parnell Street, City Centre North, Dublin

Went here after a movie since it's right across from Cineworld. I had never been in but always passed by and wanted to give it a try. I was expecting it to be much bigger inside but it's actually quite small, would have hated to be in there on a busy day because you'd be jam packed next to someone you don't know! The menu isn't advertised correctly, nor are the €9.99 specials on here. We went in thinking it was starter and main and tea or coffee for €9.99 since it says 'every day', however the waitress pointed out, not on Sunday...That would be my only complaint, it needs to be a bit more clear, on their menu and on here. Other than that the service was lovely, our food came out quick! We decided to have a light bite and shared the spinacho pizza, they're pretty big! Could feed 2 people with small appetites, 1 person with a big one. May be back, not too special of a place for me to be a regular but it's good food if you're on a budget and have nothing planned after the cinema!

TGI Friday (St Stephens Green )
St Stephens Green, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Went here for a friend's birthday. I got the boneless buffalo wings and a side order of their loaded mash potatoes. The buffalo wings were okay but the mash potatoes seemed kind of cold and dry like they had been sitting out for a while and reheated slightly. It took so long to get the food in the first place I didn't send it back. Husband ordered a pint of Miller and it was flat with a chive stuck to the inside of the glass as if it had been poorly cleaned. He had to send it back. My Guinness didn't taste right, maybe the first pull of the night? I've never been impressed with this location of TGI Friday and I only came here because it was a friend's birthday choice. I wish the manager would take notice of these poor reviews and do something about it.

Bobo's Gourmet Burgers (Wexford St)
22 Wexford Street (Beside Whelans), Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

My husband begged me to come here, it's where he used to eat when in college. The prices were ok, the food was so good! I got the Grafton burger and I can't remember the name of his but it was spicy with jalepenos in it. We shared chips and a shake because they give huge portions! The only thing I can fault was the service, the waitress almost ignored us at the end of our meal, but hey I guess it's more of a diner than a restaurant, but still wasn't fond of the service. Other than that I would go back. Make sure you look for the sign they put outside with the burger of the day, it's €1.50 cheaper but unfortunately for some reason they didn't put it out until we left so we had no idea!

Acapulco Restaurant
7 South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

My husband and I came here for dinner, we were craving Mexican food and there's not a lot of it in Dublin. The food came out quick, except for dessert, it would be my only complaint, they kind of forgot about us for a while but the waiter was always very nice. We started off with the platter of food for 2, it was very filling, I almost didn't want to order a main! However I decided to get what I came for and got the chimichunga and my husband ordered the burrito. The food was delicious, not something I would come back to soon, only if we again are insanely craving Mexican food. The atmosphere was also nice, it was always packed.

Dakota
South William Street, South William Street, Dublin

My husband and I went for the tasting platters as we didn't want a huge meal. Only €5, I got the pita with hummus, delicious and the hummus tasted very fresh as in they made it there. My husband got the breaded tandori chicken, he thought it was ok but way too greasy. He also got a very small coke which came to €3.20, we weren't happy about that but it is a bar after all! We will go back mainly for the €5 platter deal. The service wasn't too good, he had to wait forever standing at the bar to get a barman's attention to pay. It wasn't even busy, sunday afternoon, so no excuse. Still though would go back mainly for the good deal, we are in a recession!

Solas (Wexford St)

Il Segreto
13a/b Merrion Row, City Centre South, Dublin

We went here just after a show, got in very late but they still gave us a table. They were very pleasant! I accidentally bumped into a waiter and instead of him saying 'Excuse me' and rushing on, which is what I expected, he greeted me with a 'Hi! How are you tonight?!' I got the John Dory, my sister in law got the sea food risotto, they were delicious! They helped us pick out a wine and a virgin cocktail for our dinners. Such a nice place, I will definitely go back again and again!

Loved this place! Very exciting when you're walking up the stairs and the smell of great food when you first walk in is so enticing! Service was great, food was amazing, meat sung is to die for! Great for friends and large groups. Would definitely go back.

Ukiyo
7-9 Exchequer Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Came here before but this time with a group for my birthday and I used my menu points for a free main and 1 hour of karaoke. Service wasn't that good in the beginning, they took forever getting food out. The first waiter was very short and when I asked about the half off cocktail menu, he quickly confirmed and I kid you not, walked away with all our menus without even asking if we would like to look at the cocktail menu or order any, we had to wave him back. He then also got a bit snooty when we wanted to order more than 2 each even though it was before the cut off time (7pm). It's not advertised anywhere in the restaurant so make sure you ask before ordering. Half way through our meal our waiter changed and the new one was sooooo pleasant and attentive! He had no problem with us getting more cocktails, I mean what's better, half off cocktails or us buying no overpriced cocktails at regular price at all? I also brought a little cake I got a Dunnes and asked as a joke if he would serve it to us, he said yes with no hesitation and brought it out on cute serving plates and even put a candle in it for me to blow out! At no extra charge! I will be back but I hope I get the nice waiter again!

Yamamori Sushi, Tengu
38-39 Lower Ormond Quay, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

From the last time I visited, I hate to say it but this place has really gone downhill service wise. We came here for my husband's birthday for lunch and there were plenty of seats available but the waiter wasn't really sure where to put us, seemed to take forever to get a seat. When we finally did sit down, it took about 15 minutes to get a waiter's attention to take our order. I asked about the Dublin bus pass deal and the waitress had no clue what I was talking about. If a restaurant is going to run a holiday promotion, they really need to make sure all their employees are aware of it! Other than that, we never got water until our main course was served. After another long wait, they served our starters at separate times, mine came out first and about 5 minutes or more later, my husband's came out. The same with the mains. I thought it was a bit unorganised. Usually the same courses come out at the same time? Food was average, I only come here to get a sushi fix because there's not many places in town to get it in a restaurant setting, other than that, I wouldn't come here again.
