Can't fault the food or service. Only negative is 5 girls placed on large round table, by the door, makes flow of conversation tricky. Shame, because it took from overall atmosphere of our night.

Hartley's Restaurant
1 Harbour Road, South Co. Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Had a meal for 9 people, including 3 kids for a Communion. It was flawless from start to finish. Service was impeccable and the food was superb, all plates were happily finished. Most of us had steaks, all cooked to perfection. It was also my twins birthday and both of them were made feel very special, not just the communion girl. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience.

Milano (Dundrum)
Dundrum Shopping Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin

Great service and one of the best kids menus I have seen in a restaurant. It was really busy yet we were accommodated when we tried to make our booking earlier than planed. All staff were lovely and personable.

Zaragoza
South William St., Dublin , South William Street, Dublin

Lovely Sunday lunch - great value and fantastic food. I liked that there was plenty of room at the tables for all the food. My three kids loved everything - we had chicken, salads, prawns, chorizo, calamari, pig burger, patatas bravas, lovely chunky chips, provencal veggies...all just so full of flavour. Service was superb - it alone would bring us back.

Hartley's Restaurant
1 Harbour Road, South Co. Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Dined at Hartley's last night with 13 people from work. From start to finish it was flawless. Catering for a large number was no problem, with all courses being delivered together and hot as appropriate. All plates were cleaned and all agreed the food was sublime. Service was perfect without being obtrusive. My tuna starter was the best I have ever tasted and I would have loved it even as a main. The fillet steak was so lean and flavoursome. I was so full but could not resist the peanut butter chocolate brownie which was heavenly...it ended up being shared and the place licked clean. A beautiful building, sublime food and fantastic service.

Cafe 31
Old Bray Road, Cabinteely, Dublin

had a girls night here recently - the food was super tasty (I had a burger) though the chips were a bit too fast food like - the burger deserved more rustic type chips. I am not mad on the booth seating, it takes away from being in a restaurant - up front of the restaurant would have been nicer.

The Stillorgan Orchard
1 The Hill, Stillorgan, Stillorgan, Dublin

Had lunch today with some girls from work to celebrate a birthday. Service was superb and the food was fab. Was nice to enjoy some lovely Summer salads. I had a the prawn, chili and garlic salad which was melt in the mouth...the prawns were really really good. Its a great place and worth an evenig visit.

Seapoint Restaurant
4 The Crescent, Monkstown, Dublin, Monkstown, Dublin

Have not been here since it was done up. It is still lovely but think I preferred the old set up. The menu was limited but the food was sublime. I had pate to start which was melt in the mouth, the fig chutney was fab! For main I had the special which was trout and it was a bundle of perfect flavours on a plate. Hubbie had chowder which he said was excellent and his plate was nearly licked clean after the fillet steak...so tender. The service was excellent - if a little too quick between courses. It will still remain a favourite place to go.

The Port House Ibericos
5/6 Pembroke Cottage, Pembroke District, Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin

Had lunch here with husband and three kids. It was lovely. Seating is a bit squashed, table a bit small considering it is tapas. Kids meal was fantastic value and choice, would rather a healthier drink option like milk. The food was lovely...we had prawns, fois gras, potatoes, rice, lamb...a real mix and all was v tasty. Overall good value too. Worth a repeat visit

Organised our work Christmas here last night. From start to finish I can't fault it. The door staff, table staff downstairs and upstairs were all fantastic. The food was fabulous. I had the duck which was so lean and cooked to perfection. The manager was a pleasure to deal with. A great restaurant, worth a visit. Thank you.

The Copper Bar
8 Blackthorn Road, Beacon South Quarter, Sandyford, Sandyford, Dublin

Booked here for lunch with work people. Arrived at 12.45pm; 4 girls had starters which arrived promptly enough. However, by 1.30 no sign of mains. We had to ask for them and 10 minutes later they arrived. However, the fish was cold. I ordered smoked salmon on brown bread (mayo on the side). Mine was the last to arrive - on white bread, mayo all over it. I sent it back only for it to be brought back to me and told they had no brown bread. I informed them I had no time to reorder (not that I was offered that option) as it was a break from work (as I am sure a majority of the week time people would be). I was then offered the food to go - despite it was not what I ordered. Overall the service was very poor, the food was late, wrong, cold. The manager did apologise and waivered the bill, admitting they messed up and forgot about us. In the hospitality industry, to me that is unforgivable.

Knightsbrook Hotel
Dublin Road, Trim, Trim, Meath

Stayed for a night, five of us and it was fab. The food was superb...lunch, dinner and breakfast! My favourite was my salad nicoise had as starter, beautiful rare tune! The room that 3 of us shared was great, will definitely plan a return

Love love love this place. Great buzz, great service, great food..great value...two thumbs up. Was there with 3 friends, none of whom had been there before and they all loved it. There is something for everyone...salads, fish, lamb, chicken, beef, veggie, breads...wine is good value...I can't fault it and look forward to going back.

Martino's (Cabinteely)
The Watermint,, Unit 1 Old Bray Rd, Cabinteely, Cabinteely, Dublin

We found it to be completely lacking in atmosphere. The staff were not very pleasant. We asked for small plates for our starter we were sharing, my husband was told he could just use the plate it came on. His pizza base was burnt. Mine was missing the Parma ham, had to ask about it. We were then overcharged for the starter. Overall, a miserable Friday night dining experience. We will not be back.

The Stillorgan Orchard
1 The Hill, Stillorgan, Stillorgan, Dublin

Five of us from work went here for lunch today and all 5 of us cleaned our plates! Total of bill was €111 - 3 starters, 5 mains, 3 wines, 4 coffees and 2 cokes. EXCELLENT value and the food was very tasty! I had a chicken caser salad to start (I did ask for plain salad but I still ate this) which was lovely. I had the chicken curry & rice which was lovely and so filling. We also had extras of chips and mushrooms. The other girls all loved their food (brie, salad, burgers, stew) and we left as 5 very happy stuffed diners! A great place for lunch (but will suffice as a diner)

Green Dragon Well
Unit 13, Killiney Shopping Centre, Rochestown Ave, Dun Laoghaire, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Enjoyed a lovely ad hoc meal here last night. Everything food wise was great; very tasty. The starter of shredded chicken, hot and salty was great. There was 5 of us and all the food was piping hot! Service was also excellent; no problem when I returned my meal as I don't like prawns in batter. They made it up again without the batter. It was very empty which really does not lend to a good atmosphere; take out might be the way to go!

Las Tapas
Old Bray Road,, Cabinteely Village, South Dublin, Cabinteely, Dublin

Have not been here in over a year. It was a Sunday night so rather quiet and lacking atmosphere. However I think the food had improved in flavour. I had prawns in garlic (mouth watering), Patatas bravas and a chicken in lemon and garlic..finger licking. The only thing is that all the food tends to arrive at once and so the meal ends rather quickly. The waiter also dropped a dish with the sauce going everywhere...not a good start. I would go back for the food but not the atmosphere.

Horse & Hound (Dublin)
The Horse & Hound, Cabinteely, Cabinteely, Dublin

Great food without a doubt! I have eaten here a few times and have always been so satisfied. I went with my hubbie, parents and niece and every plate was cleaned! I had the special of the day - trout with a pesto butter. I was in heaven - it was melt in the mouth; no bones and packed full of flavour. Even the simple baked spud and side salad packed a punch. My hubbie had the duck stuffed with apricot etc. It was divine. The chicken curry was packed with chunks of meat. I could not fault the food, service or price. A great place for good food in a relaxed environment.

Pattaya Thai
Johnstown Road, Cabinteely, Cabinteely, Dublin

This tiny restaurant does the food no favours. I have eaten in it once but now stick to take out as there is more atmosphere at home! However - the food is fantastic for take out as is the take out service! The prawns in chilli and basil are just so tastey and the green beans cooked perfectly. I love this dish and usually end up scoffing it all not wanting to share! The duck curry has plenty of duck and will also leave you licking your lips. Recently we noted they have reduced their prices (by about 20% I think) which is great and I wish more places would do this. Overall - can't fault the food at all and it is my favourite take away in the area.

The Saddle Room @ The Shelbourne
The Shelbourne Hotel, 27 St Stephen's Green, Dublin, City Centre South, Dublin

Lovely place. Early bird menu such a find - €24 for 3 courses of great food. Best Sea Bass I have had in long time and the warm choccie tart to die for. Husband ate from a la carte and the chicken liver pate was so packed with flavour. Nice touch at end of meal with some treats on the house for our birthday/anniversary celebrations. Surroundings so lush and service rather good although one waiter did not return to apologise for giving hubbie the wrong steak. Also the wine we wanted was not available. But overall, excellent food, lovely atmosphere - great for a date night and the value for the early bird is almost too good to be true!
