Visited with a friend just after 6.30pm, and was seated immediatly by a very pleasant member of staff. The service and professional approach was excellent, advise on the menu was offered and gladly accepted. Not only does this hotel have an excellent waitress, the chef is not that bad either as the turkey and ham was superb. We had started with soup and the desert choice was fruit salad. It is hard enough to find a restuarant that is superb in all areas, but well done Talbot Carlow. We will be back

The Sunshine Cafe
107 Lower George's Street, Dun Laoghaire, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Fabulous pancakes for breakfast in a very nice cafe. The breakfast menu is wide ranging but the pancakes stood out and we both agreed they were excellent..This is a nice cafe and was quite busy for a Sunday morning. Well worth a visit.

Mac's Lounge
Powerscourt Arms Country House, Enniskerry, Wicklow

The dining room is situated at the front of the building with nice views of the village. The dinner menu is small but very practical. The blonde and myself share most things in our life so it was surf and turf for us both. The steak was cook to perfection and the prawns served in garlic butter. This was superb food and great service

Gulliver's Restaurant @ Newpark Hotel
Castlecomer Road, Kilkenny City, Kilkenny

Wow the food is very good, we both ate here on the 29th and 30th. We both had salad for starter each night and the sirloin beef was so good the first night we had it for mains the second night also. This was beef that was so tender and tasty it was the very best. The menu was the same on both nights and we were served three slices of beef on the friday night and two on the saturday night, which seems strange. Apart from that observation it was a very pleasant experience, with a great staff and wonderful service.

Harrys Cafe Bar
21 Upper George's Street, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Harrys is very deceptive from the outside and has some of the best breakfasts in Dun Laoghaire. The Big breakfast is superb, and very reasonable. We had 2 big breakfasts and tea, we left clean plates. The place looks a bit dull but the food speaks for its self

Cafe 31
Old Bray Road, Cabinteely, Dublin

An excellent Restuarant we were warmly greeted on arrival and shown to a window table.. The blond had lasagne and I had a very large salad which was very good. Wine and non alcoholic beer complemented a great meal. They do not stock non alcoholic wine and very few Restuarant seems to include it on their wine lists. 31 is a good food house and well worth a visit.

Four of us ate here on Sunday evening, and the food was superb. Each is us had a different main course and each is us agreed they were excellent. The staff are pleasant and courteous and gave us advice on the various items on the menu. This is a popular Restuarant and exceptionally good value.

Carluccio's (Glasthule)
71-72 Glasthule Road, Sandycove, Glasthule, Dublin

A very nice restaurant in Glasthule, with a wide choice menu. The blonde and my self were not that hungray and we both choose a salad, one smoked duck and the other Tuna. The food was amazing and the salad dressing was very good. we had a nice window seat and enjoyed a great meal. See you soon again.

Toscana (Dun Laoghaire)
5 Windsor Terrace, South Co. Dublin , Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

First visit and a great experience. We were met by a very pleasant young lady who showed us to a table upstairs. The views of Dublin Bay are stunning. the menu is very large and varied. We both had a main course of ceaser salad, the portions were large and well presented. The staff were superb, pleasant and courteous and are a very important ingredient of a very fine restuarant. Well done

Green Dragon Well
Unit 13, Killiney Shopping Centre, Rochestown Ave, Dun Laoghaire, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

here is a great restaurant, with good Chinese food and pleasant staff. The curries and shredded chicken special were excellent. Anytime I visit this restaurant I am very impressed with the number of Chinese customers eating there. this is a very good sign, and the restaurant is very family friendly. I have been here many times and the food is consistently good and very inexpensive. The next your in the area give it a try, you will enjoy same.. I will be back again and again for the great food and service.

Redmond Restaurant @ Woodenbridge Hotel and Lodge (inactive)
Vale of Avoca, Arklow, Wicklow

Had lunch here and it was terrible.. Was late in the afternoon and decided on lamb and what a disappointment. The lamb was accompanied by three veg and potatoes. The lamb was very hard to cut and was as tough that it was impossible to eat.. The staff while pleasant were disinterested and seemed to be busy setting up tables. When I advised a member of staff of the problem he did not seem bothered This hotel has a good reputation and it is surprising the drop in standards

Victoria Garden Asian Cuisine
Johnstown, Naas, Kildare

A great find fabulous food excellent service this is an exceptional restaurant with very well trained staff, who are friendly and courteous. The beef curry was one of the best I have tasted in years. The waitress explained the various dishes in detail and prices are reasonable. Another great plus is parking is readily available..this visit was a great experience well done

Jacks Bar & Dining Area @ Killashee House Hotel
Killashee, Naas, Kildare

Went to the bar on arrival with my friend and ordered two drinks which arrived very quickly.. We asked for a food menu and also if we could have a different table when eating. The waitress was helpful and sought out a table which had two different chairs at different heights. We asked if one of the chairs could be changed and a young man arranged a replacement..we ordered food and it arrived and was placed on the table and the waiter said enjoy your meal.. One problem we had no cutlery the table had not even been setup..Cutlery soon arrived and the food was nearly cold but tasted flavoursome. The bar area was very busy but our plates were cleared by staff and after about twenty minutes a waiter appeared and ask if we would like dessert..APple pie was ordered and arrived and again no cutlery. Again we caught the eye of a staff member who got cutlery. Clearly there is a lack of management here, which is surprising in a four star establishment. We were told the manager was too busy at the time to talk to us about our complaint.. Previous visits here had been a pleasant experience, but I will avoid here if I can in the future.

The Silver Fox Seafood Restaurant
Crossfarnogue, Kilmore Quay, Kilmore, Wexford

This is one of the finest restuarants in the south east. What a menu with food excellently presented, and very tasty. Prawn cocktail to start was very good but the pan fried haddock was superb, and the portions of chunky chips and salad were very large. This is an exceptional restaurant which clearly uses quality produce. With the fresh fish sourced just 50 yards from the local pier, I suppose you cant get much better than that. It was pleasing to see that you can now purchase their sauces, and jams and brown bread to take home. They also sell oils marinades and cranberry sauce. I eat out a lot and the salty dog is one of the best in wexford. I will be back.

Rochestown Lodge Hotel
Rochestown Avenue, South Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

A very friendly Restuarant ideal for family eating. The three of us were shown to a nice booth style seating on arrival and a nice girl called Dorothy explained the different dishes to us I had a steak and my friends had lamb shanks which they thought were fantastic. The sirloin steak was very good and the vegetables and sauce were included in the price. The portions were large and left us unable to even look at desert. Apart from the quality of the food the attitude of the staff to the need of the customer was excellent.

Akash Indian Restaurant
7 Georges Ave, South Co. Dublin, Blackrock, Dublin

The Restuarant had only one table in use when I arrived, and was shown to a table by a young waiter. He provided a menu and wine list and it was some time before he returned to take the order. He was unsure of some of the dishes and may have been new. The tikka masala chicken was very good and was not expensive. The service was slow in the restuarant and the take away was very busy. Clearly they have a good customer base, and a bit more of attention to the Restuarant service would bring customers to eat in a nice Restuarant.

La Dolce Vita - The Chase
Carmanhall Road, Dublin 18, Sandyford, Dublin

Wow excellent Restuarant and exceptional food. Each of the four of us had a different main course.fish, steak, chicken, and pizza. The quality of the service is very good with professional staff who know the business. When we were handed the wine list we were informed of a special offer they had on a Spanish wine, and that was an excellent choice. It is nice to find a Restuarant that provides beautiful food, good wine at a realistic price and well trained professional staff. No wonder it was very busy. Keep up the good work. We will be back.

Johnnie Fox's Pub
Glencullen, Dublin Mountains, Glencullen, Dublin

What a fabulous meal, had a sirloin steak and boy was it good. The steak was accompanied by great mash potato and vegetables. The steak was one of the best I have ever enjoyed in Ireland. The staff were helpful and answered any questions I had about the menu. While I was there a family were celebrating a childs birthday and we were all invited by the staff to sign happy birthday and join in the fun. If ever irish tourism need Ambassadors to show our bars and restaurants should treat their customers then visit this premises. Thank you allfor a wonderful evening and well done.

Prime @ Clancys
15-16 Princes st Cork, Cork City, Cork

Went in to the bar restaurant area at lunch hour and the bar and eating area were very busy. I ordered a steak which was served as requested with salad and fries. The steak was excellent, and the staff knew their job and service was very good. This was my first time to visit clancys and I will be back to this premises where prices are realistic and good food. The bar is a bit noisy, but this is to be expected on a busy Saturday lunch hour.

McMahon's Cafe Bar
Main Street, Cavan Town, Cavan

Visited McMahons in the afternoon and ordered a mcmahons burger from the menu. The burger arrived within minutes and was garnished with coleslaw and salas. there was also 8 tiny potatoe wedges on the plate. The burger itself was well dressedwith salad and tomato. When I tried to cut the burger, it was rock hard and was clearly cooked earlier and reheated. Having paid the bill I informed a lady behind the bar who said she would show it to the chef. There was no offer to replace it. The quality of this item was poor and not fit to be served to customers. In fairness to the management when I was at the bar, a gentleman came back twice from a table to seek extra portions of a fudge cake which he described as fantastic. hopefully in the future they will cook their burger fresh for orders.

Halfway House (Navan Road)
Ashtown, Navan Road, Dublin 7, Navan Road, Dublin

Visited for lunch, found parking very easy in front of premises and a very friendly and helpful security man keeping an eye on teh car park. Went into the hot food area, and the chef was serving a customer at the buffet. He explained what was available and I had lamb, with mash and carrots. Both the veg were only warm, certainly not hot and the lamb was tough and stringy. This was a poor lunch for the price and in fairness on my last visit the food was excellent. perhaps staff should ensure food is hot when served.

Terrace Restaurant @ Mullingar Park Hotel
Dublin Road, Mullingar, Westmeath

Went into the bar at lunchtime for bar food. ordered smoked salmon and brown bread. asked for a sliced of lemon and was told it would come in a few minutes. The smoked salmon was poor, but the salad bowl which was very small was good. Had asked at reception to order and sit in foyer, but food must be ordered in the bar. The other facilities were excellent.

Howards Way (Churchtown)
11 Braemor Road, South Dublin, Churchtown, Dublin

I had never been to this restuarant before and what a pleasant surprise. Four of us had a great evening and the food was superb. my starter was pate and the presentation and quality was that of any five star hotel. my friends starters were also excellent and the portions were large. Main Courses were very good, duck, chicken and mixed grill superb. The younger member of the party had curry and wants to go back next week for more. Three of the party had deserts and the high standard maintained. The restuarant was very busy all night and the excellent staff made it all look so easy. Tell your friends about this place, and treat yourself to a little bit of heaven. Well done to the people who run this establishment, and for your attention to detail.

Bistro @ The Tower Hotel Waterford
The Mall Waterford, Waterford City, Waterford

Arrived in the dining room at about 7.30pm and was promptly seated and menus provided. I ordered a sirloin steak and a half bottle of wine. The main course was tremendous, a beautiful tender steak cooked to perfection. This was a superb meal and although the dining room was busy, i was under no pressure to leave the table, in fact I had a second half bottle of wine. This is a restaurant that I will be returning to sample more of teh excellent food, when I am in the area. Whoever is responsible for the management of this establishment can be very proud of their work and their excellent staff. I also had breakfast here on two mornings and again excellent. Well done to all.

Jade Palace
3, The Mall, Waterford, Waterford City, Waterford

This restaurant had only three or four people when I arrived. The service was prompt, and the staff were professional. The menu offered a large choice, and the beef was not great. I had two glasses of wine while eating the meal which was bland and unusual for a chinese restaurant had no flavour. The staff were courteous and pleasant. This is a restaurant I would not visit on my next trip to Waterford.

Called in for lunch, pleasant people at the carvery, and the beef was hot. Howevr I could not cut the meat it was hard. The veg was very pleasant and well cooked. I left the beef on the plate and advised a member of staff, who aid she didnt cook it. In fairness, she was not Irish and may not have understood. The worst beef ever, and no interest in the complaint. I certainly wont be back
