My husband is from wexford so on our anniversary on advice from his family, he booked the Crazy Crab...I'm so glad he listened to them!!! We arrived and were seated by two very friendly waitresses. The menu is a seafood lovers heaven. We ordered the seafood platter which serves 2. When is arrived it was fantastic, longoustines in the shell, dublin bay prawns, scallops, crabmeat, crab claws, smoked salmon and mackerel....served with brown bread and a green salad!! It was fabulous, the best platter I've had in a long time. The staff were lovely too, attentive and so friendly. Its worth a drive to Kilmore quay just to eat here!

Another fabulous meal!!! We ordered a sushi platter and a ramen dish....absolutely gorgeous. The sushi platter here is the best I've had....anywhere! And fantastic value! We ordered sides of seaweed and miso...but found it a struggle to finish it all. My husbacnd had a seafood ramen dish....this was amazing! The broth was tasty and loads of fish and juicy big prawns....to die for! My only problem this time was the service. We ordered our meal with a beer which didn't arrive until half way through our meal when we reminder our waiter who seemed to be on another planet!!! All in alll a gastro experience...again!

Musashi Noodles and Sushi Bar
15 Capel Street, Dublin 1 , City Centre North, Dublin

My husband took me here for my birthday. I love sushi and having crohns disease sushi is the the perfect food for me. It was fab! We ordered a sushi and sashimi platter and had loads of food. Service was very fast and the waiters/waitresses were so friendly and efficient. My only negative is that the tables are very close together, you can here conversations from other tables which is really off-putting. The food & service is great, they just need to space the tables out more and then it would be a perfect dining experience.

Monks Ballyvaughan
Ballyvaughan, Clare, Ballyvaghan, Clare

We arrived in Monks on Saturday afternoon at about 5.20pm and already tables were reserved...an insight into the food here! My husband ordered the fish and chips, two kids meals of chicken goujons and chips and sausages and chips, and a crab & prawn salad, I have crohn's disease so its difficult for me to get anything to eat but the waitress was fantastic nothing was a problem to accomodate me.....worth the world to eat out for anyone with a dietary problem. The meal was nicer than nicer, fresh crab and prawns, huge meals for the kids and the Guinness is lovely. Great food and a great pint what more can you ask for. My husband even went for a takaway for me the following night because I was hungry....Monks don't normally do takeaway ( a great business idea for picnics though)....but they did for me, a gorgeous crab salad, which was fab! We brought the plate back the next day of course! Monks has the most gorgeous food in a fantastic location. I will be back!!

Kim Chi Hop House
160 Parnell Street, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

Once again, a fabulous meal at Kim chi! With two very loud children, staff were both friendly and adoring! The food was excellent as always. We had a medley of starters, mains and sides. The chicken mandu was tasty, the sea bream carpaccio fab, sushi selection and bi bimbap gorgeous!! I have to say though the sides of miso and kim chi were the best I have tasted in a long time!!! We will be back definately. The food is excellent, good value and the staff are so accomodating and welcoming! Well worth a visit!

The Living Room at The Residents Hotel
Bridge Street, Ashbourne, Meath

On a recent visit to Ashbourne, popped into The living room with my husband and two kids for lunch. The menu is extensive and very good value indeed, with a good selection of choices for kids. A very nice friendly girl attended our table and asked for our drinks order first, she was so friendly and kind to the kids...this is rare as most places we've been tend to find them irritating, which makes us feel incredibly uncomfortable. We placed our order, an open prawn sandwich, salad and pizza /chicken goujons & chips for the kids. while we were waiting for our food, the waitress came over and asked us if we would like some juice for the kids and kindly arrived back with two complementary glasses of ribena with straws for them...so nice! The food was lovely and the kids portions were excellent value. To my surprise they had homemade chips...a rarity these days as most places don't bother. Both the kids tucked in and cleared their plates. Our total bill was €25 including two pints of Guinness!!! Excellent..we will definately be going back. The waitresses have to be the nicest I have met, very attentive and friendly, they leave a very good lasting impression and so child friendly!

Hop House / Kimchi
160 Parnell Street, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

A friend told me about this hidden gem so we thought we would give it a go. Being very close to our bus route we decided to take the children with us for a late lunch. It was the best meal I have had in a long time and the service...given that we had a very cranky baby with us, was without fault. We ordered the Bibim bap, marinated tuna, some sushi and some korean side dishes plus noodles for the children and drinks. The mains came accompanied with the nicest miso soup I have had in ages. The food was all cooked freshly and the sushi made to order also. When it arrived it was gorgeous, really tasty and a lot of it!!! The Bibim bap came in a hot clay pot and was a massive portion but really my husband thought it was beautiful! The marinated tuna dish was moreish as was the sushi. With the total bill coming to €42 we will definately be going back The service is friendly warm and so welcoming....and child friendly! It is a real gem!

Mitsuba Japanese Restaurant
154 Parnell Street, City Centre North, Dublin

After raving reviews, we decidied to try Mitsuba on a rare night out. I love sushi and wanted to see if I would find my new favourite. We were extremely disappointed!! We arrived to be left standing at the door for several minutes. When eventually we were seated..by a very abrupt waitress we were shown to a tiny wooden table. The menu however read very well so I was optimistic. I chose a sushi platter and miso soup, my husband a speciality choice from the menu. First the soup arrived..tiny portion and very bland. Then my husbands appetiser, a very tiny prawn salad. The mains were next , first my sushi platter, very nicely presented but TINY especially for the price. 15mins after my main arrived there was till no sign of my husbands. In short it was forgotten about and when realised, a slapdash effort arrived on a plate. Very poorly presented and definately not worth the price. What was wore was the "fruit salad" which consisted of melon, kiwi and orange in a tiny bowl at 5.50eu....ridiculous! Poor service, terrible portions, ridiculous prices, we definately will NOT be going back.

The Porterhouse (Parliament Street)
Parliament Street le Bar, Temple Bar, Dublin

Had lunch here with my husband and 29month old son. The staff were friednly and very very child friendly which makes a refreshing change!! We ordered the fish and chips, "pint" of prawns and side salad and asked if we could have a small portion of fish finger sandwich for our son....not a problem!! The fish and chips was gorgeous, served with a lovely side salad and minted mushy peas. My pint of prawns was very mean...more a pint of lettece topped with a few tiger prawns, at 9.90 very expensive and not worth it at all. The chef did a special small portion of the fish finger sandwich, which was very generous. With a pint and glass of Porter plain the bill came to 43euro....they charged 8 euro for a side sald, which I consider extortion!!! All in all however, the staff are very friendly helpful and welcome children which is great. The food was lovely but expensive for what we got, nonetheless we will return!!

The Exchange Restaurant and Cocktail Bar
The Westin Dublin, At College Green, Westmoreland Street, City Centre South, Dublin

Came here for the festive dinner menu, although good value several things were below par. My husband had the prawn bisque which he could not finish due to a gritty residue obviously from shells.....very poor. The scallops consisted of two small lukewarm specimens although tasty very disappointing. The mains were ok, again, smallish portions. dessert was the best course, the tart and apricot compote was lovely ad the creme brulee fab although difficult to finish. Wines were overpriced! Also the restaurant was freezing cold, so cold that it made it uncomfortable to eat. One table asked for a heater!!!!! The matre'd promptly produced one from somewhere, but not what you would expect in an upmarket establishment. Also, our coats went astray and we had to wait about 10mins for the flustered waiters to locate them. Overall, I was disappointed. Will think twice about returning.

Murphy's Bar & Squires Pub
College Street, Killarney, Killarney, Kerry

Ate here with my family, having been recommended by a very nice shop owner in the town. The pub was very crowded when we arrived which was a good sign but we were lucky to get a table just minutes after. The menu is very extensive catering for meat and fish eaters, with a very impressive seafood platter on offer for just 28 euro!!! We ordered a beef lasagne for my husband, prawn salad for me and a kiddes portion of sausages & chips. Al the meals arrived, very nice my sald had about a pound of prawns on it, lovely. All the food was really nice, the staff were friendly and the atmosphere buzzing. I did consider at 6 euro the kiddies portion of sausage and chips very expensive. Will definately go back though. Great menu!

Wrights Findlater Howth Restaurant
Findlater House, North Co. Dublin, Howth, Dublin

Had lunch here with my husband and one year old son. The usual Sunday in howth, very busy but we were not welcome! The findlater is NOT child friendly by any manner of means. There was no table available inside and our son was hungry but we found a table outside BUT we were told they could not bring the baby chair outside. Fine we got up and went inside only to be stopped by a rather rude waiter who told us we couldn't sit there We did anyway. We ordered a baby bowl for our son, which normally consists of potato, veg and gravy.....it arrived swimming in gravy but no veg??? Asking a waiter for some he told us they didn't have any veg!!!!!! Pathetic. People all around us were complaining about the long waiting times for food, some even arrived cold!! One lady ordered a pint of guinness for her husband...it arrived 20mins later and the man had left leaving his wife to promptly tell the waiter to remove it from their bill. The findlater lost several customers us and many more.

YO Sushi Clarendon St
Brown Thomas, Clarendon St, Dublin , City Centre South, Dublin

Ate here after visiting the Bloom festival, they were still doing the 30% off offer so we said we;d give it a go. Having visited Yo sushi in Swords we knew what to expect, well kind of. The staff are very friendly and service was good, although the alarms that go off when servie is required can be a little annoying. As with Swords, the selection of sushi on offer was a bit limited. No sashimi was on the belt at all, so I asked it I could have the coriander seared Tuna...it's one of the nicest dishes in Yo. I love they're miso as well, it the nicest I've tasted yet. My one criticism of Yo this day was the toilet, it was messy and looked liked it had not been cleaned in while. They could do with really paying attention to that as it turned me off my whole meal when I saw it. I would be a bit reserved about returning.

Brady 's
Clock House, Maynooth, Maynooth, Kildare

Went for lunch here with my family, carvery is served until 2.30pm which offer plenty of time for a nice leisurely lunch. The selection is great, food is hot and the staff are very friendly and accomodating. I asked for sausages for my 1 year old son and although they were not on the cavery the chef said no problem and cooked them fresh for him. The food here is also excellent value. My mum wasn't feeling too hungry and asked for a half portion, it was huge and so cheap. Nice fmily friendly relaxed place for lunch.

Kokoro Sushi Bento
19 Lower Liffey Street, City Centre North, Dublin

Fantastic!! What a gem! Finally a gourmet sushi take-away in Dublin. Having read a review on menupages I popped in here to sample it for myself on Monday last. I was totally amazed at the selection and the prices. There was such a fantastic array of fresh individually wrapped sushi that I had trouble deciding what I wanted. In the end I selected pretty much every tasty bite on offer. I also got a Tuna bento which came with a free yummy miso soup.....all I can say is delicious. Fresh tasty and cheap.....I'll definately be going back. Yum!

Slevin's Pub
Main Street, Dunboyne, Meath

Went for a family sunday lunch here last week. There was a shortage of baby highchairs and were left waiting on one for ages. The food was very fresh and good variety...that is if you eat meat! Only one fish on the menu, salmon and NO veggie option. I asked for maybe some salad to be told they had none!!! Ended up eating a plate of carrots!!!! I thought this was very poor. The chef was neither helpful nor friendly! However, everyone else in my party had lovely meals...but they all eat meat. Their portions were good but a bit overpriced at 12.50 a head.

TGI Friday (Blanchardstown)
Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, Dublin 15, Blanchardstown, Dublin

We ate here for an early dinner. All I can say is awful! We have eaten here several times before and I'm not sure if its economic crisis or what!... but prices have increased BUT food quantity and quality has certainly decreased! My husband ordered fajitas, it was mean tasteless and sloppy! The salsas came out slopped together on one plate, the tomato salsa is tomato a bit of onion//if your lucky and nothing else!!! As for my meal...microwaved cod..huh could do way better for 18.95 myself!!! In fact I'd probably make a better meal for 18.95! Never again it's a total rip-off! The only saving grace was our really nice waiter....he's wasted here! He deserves to be working somewhere worthy of his manners and charm! Great people terrible food!

La Cuvee @ Eno Wine Bar
1 Burton Hall, Mayor Square, IFSC, City Centre North, Dublin

one word...lovely! Lovely food, lovely setting, lovely mannerly staff....and lovely wine!!! All in all a fantastic evening! We went here for a christmas party, and we will definately be returning. The scallops were delicious, the sea bass even more so. My husband's cheese board was excellent! It's a hidden gem!

Fab food, great service, beautiful atmosphere! Went here for a long overdue night out with my husband. The food was amazing, the menu is extensive with rally great value weekend menu for 20eu. I had a soup to start, followed by a gorgeous prawn dish, followed by the most beautiful sorbet I have ever tasted! The staff are courteous, attentive but no way pushy at all. The ambience is lovely, relaxing & calm with beautiful background music. I loved it !! Its a must for families, couples anyone who loves a good value night out.
