For what it is this place is great, its really good value for money for both food and drink (€3 pints in the middle of temple bar are not easy to find) the atmosphere is great at the weekends and the staff are friendly, the chicken wings are definitely worth trying.

Johnnie Fox's Pub
Glencullen, Dublin Mountains, Glencullen, Dublin

This is one of my favorite places to go for a quick pint on a sunday but food wise i would avoid, the food is not great for the prices high they charge and for a traditional irish pub the menu dose not reflect that, the few times i have eaten there the food was always over done and slightly rubbery but apart from the grub the atmosphere is great and the staff are top rate

Oscars Restaurant
21 Oliver Plunkett Street, Mullingar, Westmeath

Oscars has been around for god knows how long and i have yet to be in there when it hasn't been full but it is by no means a top class restaurant, i would say everything about it is average but it is consistently average, the main problem is that the menu has not changed in a long number of years and there is not many other restaurants in the town that rival it so in a sense its safe enough to continue along without much change, some dishes are very nice but some dishes are borderline fast food quality, the staff are very friendly and the food is normally externally quick (apart from last time we were there where we waited 35 minutes for mains). Oscars will most certainly overwhelm anyone but it is a safe bet for a nice dinner. They could be cheaper but their early bird menu is reasonable.

Toscana (Dun Laoghaire)
5 Windsor Terrace, South Co. Dublin , Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

We have eaten in the City Center and the Dun Laoghaire Toscana's many times and we have not once left with a bad word to say about either place, the food is always amazing whether your ordering pasta or stake the atmosphere is always nice and in general both places have a lovely feel to them, its not overly expensive either and the staff are always friendly.can't wait to go back.

Tante Zoes
1 Crow Street, Temple Bar, Temple Bar, Dublin

Having waited such a long time and heard so many good things about Tante Zoes we were very excited about going as were were big fans of Cajun and Creole cooking however the experience was very disappointing indeed, the decor is white and feels very cold where as i had expected a warm friendlier place. The service was very poor from the second we walked in the door, the man who showed us to our seats was very unfriendly and we waited an extremely long time for our order to be taken and drinks to be brought despite the place being only about half full. The food was average and i would very rarely leave a restaurant thinking i could have cooked a better meal, the meat balls to start were ok but the blackened chicken for mains was amazingly bland and even the accompanying vegetables was tasteless. all and all we were very disappointed and it is very overpriced for what they offer i wont rush back anytime soon.
