Discovered this place on a wind swept day in February this year and have only manage to get back 3 times so far this year. This restaurant is superb, food, atmosphere and service.. Pricey to the degree that it is not cheap but great value in that you leave satisfied that you had great food coupled with a really enjoyable experience. By far on of the best dining experiences I have ever enjoyed and on each return visit it consistently get better and better..

Went there using a Menupages voucher. Had Jal Pari (baby squid) & Lamb Choila for starters, squid cooked to perfection but a little bland, Lamb beautiful. Main courses Kathmandu Special Prawn Chilli & MT. Everest Mix Grill, Prawns were beautifully cooked in a tasty chilli & tomato based sauce, mixed grill was a selection of meat cooked in a Tandor oven, nice but I'm sure their menu offers better. The place was busy, I counted 50 plus people, service was ok but food was a little slow getting out of the kitchen because we all arrived more or less together. they caught up and overall an enjoyable experience that we will definitely repeat. Top Recommendation, Had a dessert of Kher, rice pudding flavoured with Green Cardamom and Bay Leaves, absolutely beautiful. Draught Heineken and takeaway menu available.

The Brasserie @ Leopardstown
Bewley's Hotel Leopardstown, Central Park , Leopardstown, Dublin

Held a meeting here over food, had Belly of Pork with Caesar Salad for starters. Large portion but flavour was lacking on the Pork Belly. Service was attentive and friendly. Great for a meeting venue.

The Gables
McCabes Wines, The Gables, 1 Torquay Road, Dublin 18 , Foxrock, Dublin

Went there last night using Menupages voucher which was no problem and except for the voucher it would have really hurt to pay €194 for what we got. Starters; 2 x Seared Scollops (3 scollops arranged around a centre of greens €12.95 pricey to say the least but tasty). 1 x Chicken wings €8 & 1 x Crayfish Tails and New Potato Salad €9.65 ( Mainly consisting of Potato Salad .) Mains; 1 x Fillet of Sea Bass (€24.65) & 2 x 10oz Ribeye Steaks (€24.65) plus 1 6oz Hereford Striploin Steak €17.95. The 3 steaks were dry, tasteless, cut up New Tips style and, particularly my steak, full of grizzle. I had to take 4 large chunks of grizzle out of my mouth and put them to the side of my plate. The steaks were accompanied by a red wine jus which was totally tasteless, totally. I wonder if this is the norm in a restaurant or are lower standards applied to Menupages voucher customers. either way it is bad business. If they think I have any inclination to go back and give them more of my hard earned money, they need to think again. I started working in restaurants at the age of 14, I have worked at every level of restaurant work through from kitchen porter to owning my own catering establishments. I have worked in the UK, Germany and Ireland. It is only here in Ireland that I normally feel I have been taken for a real ride when I dine out. Anyhow back to the Gables, we followed up with 3 desserts, Bread and Butter pudding which was rubbery and my wife left, I had Creme Brulee which was accompanied by a very pleasant passion fruit and mango sorbet and a Sticky Toffee Pudding which was okay if a bit sweet. 3 pints of beer, a carafe of white wine and 3 coffees made up our bill of €194. Would I recommend The Gables..?.. No ! Would I go back.?....No !.

Martino's (Cabinteely)
The Watermint,, Unit 1 Old Bray Rd, Cabinteely, Cabinteely, Dublin

Bought a deal on Menupages.ie,, 20 euro for 40 euro off menu. Went on a Friday evening about 6pm. It was quiet at that stage. Had a pasta dish between us as a starter, was okay. Had a pizza between us and I have to say it was exceptional. So good in fact that we went home and bought another deal straight away. By the time we were leaving, 7 to 7-30, the place was buzzing in the restaurant along with a stead flow of pick-ups and a delivery man flying in and out. Only complaint was that the desserts were bought in, a bit inexcusable give that Italian desserts are amongst the very best and not impossible to make. But that pizza..........perhaps the best I have ever eaten....anywhere.

Ocean Bar & Grill
7 Strand Road, Bray, Bray, Wicklow

Have actually dined here twice in March 2013 and have to say it is difficult to fault. Seated at window as requested which is nice as you can watch the sea across the road. Menu covers most peoples requirements. For Starters had Atlantic seafood chowder on one visit, Pan seared Scallop on another, both excellent . Main coursed on Prime Irish 10 oz Rib Eye Steak one visit and Grilled Hake on another. Both perfectly cooked. This place is really doing the business locally because it offers well cooked food at a reasonable price in nice surroundings. the service is always warm and friendly and their home baked breads are a real winner. Over this past winter have been here 4 times and I'm sure that many more visits beckon.

Swai Restaurant
Unit B, The Campshires, North Wall Quay, City Centre North, Dublin

Visited with friends to celebrate birthday. Asked for and was seated at riverside table. Restaurant quiet but nice, relaxed atmosphere with staff friendly and helpful. Food, overall, the best Malaysian we have tasted in Ireland since Logan's in Blackrock closed it doors in the mid 90s. Value incredible, 5 starters, 5 nain course, a bottle of wine, a couple of cokes, a couple of beers and 5 good Malaysian coffees:- 152 euro. Will definitely be back ! Only complaints, no Laksa & no Malay desserts but the waiter, promised if we mentioned when next booking, it would be arranged. The Deep fried Won Tons and the Chicken Curry were both a bit bland but everything else was well worth the visit. What more can you ask for !
