Years trying to dine here and it was worth the wait. On a damp Monday night walking into the place livened us up. Greeted by a very warm and casual front of house and shown to a lovely table by the window. It was half full at 9pm when we arrived and had a bit of a buzz. The décor is basic but warm and even though it is a fine dining restaurant it is not too formal. The menu was bigger than I expected and took some time to decide. I had the carpaccio of beef, huge, and she had the foie gras. Both presented very nicely and tasted superb. For mains the rack of lamb and the Scallops with pork belly. The Lamb was perfectly cooked, even right on the bone, and came with a little lamb Cornish pasty, really nice touch. Her scallops were king and cooked just right and the pork belly was crisp and full of flavour. Two sides, Cheese board and a very good bottle of White Burgundy and a coffee put it to around the 250 mark, added a bottle of bubbly to finish but that was a bit extravagant I admit and really pushed the price up again. At this price level though its up there with the top stars in the city and the food is as good as any, and the service is better. Less formal but very efficient. Its not an every day affair but for a splash out there is nowhere in Dublin I’d rather be. Must learn French for the next visit felt a bit left out….. Well done guys, well done.

ok function dining chairs, cheap plastic tables and steps up to a disabled toilet!!!!!! the coffee is good but I would stear clear from the food. This place is trying to compete with top class coffee shops and believe me it does not. please give up or get someone in who knows what they are doing.

Great for a cheap lunch, quick and good service. Not quiet as good as Dundrum but still worth a visit.

The Butcher Grill
92 Ranelagh Village, South Dublin, Ranelagh, Dublin

Can't seem to get out of Ranelagh. Great restaurants and pubs and The Butchers Grill just adds to it. Had lunch today, the ribs are superb. Great looking room and very friendly staff. Place is very busy and has a really relaxed feel on a Sat afternoon. Reasonable price for good food. Will be back to try it at night but believe you need to book weeks before hand.

Just had lunch in La Bodega. Pil Pil prawns, house salad and bravas for €9.50 . Prawns, there were 4 big juicy ones, were really good, house salad was a little large for my liking and bravas were great, nice and hot. Evening menu looks good and if lunch is to go by tasty too. Great value lunch great quality food. Will be back to try the night menu soon. Can see myself getting fat.....

The Counter Dundrum
Pembroke District, (adjacent to the Mill Pond at Town Square), Dundrum, Dublin

I love the idea of creating your own. I know B.King do it but not quite like this. The food is fresh and well presented and the wings and chilli are great. Its a really nice place to drop in for a quick bite before the cinema, if you can get a seat.

Bochellis (Greystones)
Church Road, Greystones, Wicklow

Been here a good few times and never considered doing a review until the owner told me how hard things are at the moment. this place is great, service is fast and the food is always good, and always a joy. I bring my kids and mother twice a month, its very reasonable and the specials are great value. I think more people in greystones need to support hard working places like this, its fresh good quality food for good prices, just what we all want. best of luck Declan keep doing what your doing.

Mauzac Tapas Bar - Closed
Church Road, Greystones, Wicklow

It was our first time here, and have had mixed reports. Some of my friends eat here every week, a well known reviewer slated the place not too long ago. So to make up our own minds we said we would give it a go. For a Wednesday night it quite busy, over half full. We were greeted at the door by a very friendly waiter and the place seemed warm and welcoming. So far so good. A big selection on the menu with something for everyone, vegetarians too. The wine list is not huge but well priced, ordered a Rioja Crianza (€26). We opted for their mid week special, 2 tapas and patatas €9.99. I had the garlic prawns and bacon and cheese croquettas, and he went for the lamb stew and the meat balls. The prawns were large, juicy and cooked to perfection, 7 of them too and the croquettas were something I have never had before, creamy centre and very tasty. The lamb stew was spicy and full of lamb and meat balls, 5 of them, were great all be it a little too spicy. The room is very nice and seems orientated towards the women of Greystones, and the service is fast and friendly. We finished off with two Moijito cocktails and a bill of €66 incl tip was well worth it. All in all a very good experience and I will be back on a weekend to try a bigger selection. Just goes to show how professional reviewers get it wrong some times. Check it out for yourself .
