I have been to Chakra numerous times over the last few years. The food is consistently good and the staff have a level of professionalism only seen in the very top restaurants, helpful and not too full on! The new dessert options are too good to pass up on. Go for the early bird as it is excellent value.

Brownes Deli and Cafe
18 Sandymount Green, Dublin 4, Sandymount, Dublin

Brownes has lost its appeal. It was really nice homemade food a few years ago but it now seems like its chasing the euro with bigger premises. Plain food and an unchanged boring menu. If you are going to be basic about it, you need to have quality ingredients and must be flavoursome, none of which were present on our latest visit. Sad to say we won't be back.

Bunsen
36 Wexford St, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Best burger by far. Went here twice on our way holiday from New Zealand. Some people mention the price, it may be overpriced if you compare it to a chipper. Everything is quality with tongue in cheek fast food packaging to be different. Highly recommended.

Camile Thai Dun Laoghaire
3 Georges Street Lower, Dun Laoghaire, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Ordered a Tofu and Veg Sweet and Sour and there was only 4 pieces of Tofu in the whole thing. The pad thai was nice but I think my other preferred restaurant is hard to beat. I got it to takeaway and was good value.

Chakra by Jaipur
1st Floor, Meridian Point, Church Road, Greystones, Wicklow

Food is amazing. Early bird is great value and is the perfect amount of food. The service was very warm when we walked in but our waiter was a bit sour. There were four adults and two kids this time we went and we will definitly go back.

Donelli's
Market Square, Wicklow Town, Wicklow

Went for the Tapas menu. They are small so order a few maybe 5-6 between two people but really nice and its something different for Wicklow Town. Service was welcoming and prompt. Stayed for another bottle of wine. Recommended

Cafe Bar H
Grand Canal Plaza, Dublin 2, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin

Food was very good. A bit overpriced but good. If they had some deals I would go back. Worth the visit if you live in the area and have a voucher or they have an offer on.

Brownes Deli and Cafe
18 Sandymount Green, Dublin 4, Sandymount, Dublin

i would be more of a fan of brownes for coffee and a pastry for which it is one of the best in dublin. The dinner menu is very nice haven been a few times but a little overpriced in my opinion, the staff are all ver good but the owner seems a bit ott.Worth a try but there is a lot of competition in this end of the market and a lot of places are offering early birds, two course specials, etc and im still waiting to see one in brownes.

The Bakery
Church st, Wicklow Town, Wicklow Town, Wicklow

Myself and my family went here for a birthday. there was 8of us in total an everybody commented on the standard of the food. The only mishap was my aunt got her meal and the chicken was underdone so the waitress took it back apologised and came back a new dish as well as a fresh portion of veg and did not charge us for either. I felt the menu was slightly complicated with too many dishes, however nice they were. Also they do a decent set menu which is good value and includes a glass of wine. There were a few other diners there but it wasn't full. If the place was, it would have a great buzz about it. Looking forward to going again.

Milano (Dawson Street)
38 Dawson Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

Never ever had a bad meal here. I love the Pollo Ad Astra Pizza and the Bruscetta. Always a great buzz in the place too. Even though there is not a lot to it and it is a franchise, it never fails to satisfy and impress me. Also tried their pizzas to take away and they are a lot nicer and a lot cheaper then some phone up pizza delivery services.

Very average, reasonably priced food but interior needs a facelift. Not my first choice for places to go for lunch, to be honest its my last.

Jo'Burger
137 Rathmines Road, Dublin 6 , South Dublin, Rathmines, Dublin

Best burgers in town... Have been numerous times and tried different burgers. Favourite is the chicken in a wrap with apple, brie and cheese. Good value.. Once you have a burger here you will find it hard to get another one as nice. Was waiting a little longer then usual last time i was here but it was worth it and you can play board games while you wait.

Rasam
18-19 Glasthule Road, South Co. Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Went here with my dad and have been here a few times before. Its a bit more expensive then other Indians but the atmosphere is brilliant especially on a Fri, Sat or Sun night. Food is outstanding and the staff couldn't have done more. Best Indian in Dublin by far. Will be back again and again and again.

Saba
26-28 Clarendon Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I have eaten in the new Saba takeaway but never in the restaurant as every time I go to book its full, so I rang on a Sat chancing my arm to get a table for 4. Talked to a guy called Peter who couldn't have been better. He had a table available from 630 but needed it back by 830. We arrived bang on time and with an extra person, so we were put at a table with a couch to give us extra room! The food was some of the nicest Thai I have had and now I know their take away is as good as their restaurant. Service was very prompt and the atmosphere was one of the best I have experienced in Dublin. One or two dishes may have been a few euro too expensive but you get what you pay for I suppose. I would recommend everything on the menu, try something you haven't before. Best part of all, we didn't realise the time and didn't leave till 915 and they didn't say anything or rush us in anyway.

Gong Chinese Restaurant
8 Lower Kilmacud Road, South Dublin, Stillorgan, Dublin

I read a review of this place in a sunday newspaper which was quite good so i decided to give it a try. To be honest i wasn't expecting much as it is where the old Casanova's restaurant was located. The interior is very different, not like the stereotypical mirrors and dark tiles you see in many "Chinese" restaurants. I liked it. We mixed the Chinese menu with the Korean. The food was delicious and the place got more and more packed as we ate. The best part was the caramel banana at the end, the waitress came up and prepared it in front of us. I will go back again just for that. Its a must to go and try, just a pity it isnt in town as it would be booked out every night.

Al Boschetto

I honestly don't know how this place stays open! The food is so boring, not tasty and you could spend your money in somewhere else and enjoy it a lot more. Will definitely not be going back

Rolys Bistro
7 Ballsbridge Terrace, Dublin, Ballsbridge, Dublin

My brother and myself took my mother out for her birthday dinner here along with some family. I have never had a bad meal here but I’m sorry to say this wasn’t the best experience. They didn’t have our booking but thanks to the front of house he managed to get us a table. The food was amazing as usual, everybody was happy and there wasn’t a thing left on the plates. I could have picked 20 things off the menu. I got fillet of beef which I asked for medium but came out rare, so I just asked the waitress to cook it slightly longer but she stood at the table and took out her notebook to check if I had said rare or medium! Then tuted and walked away. Another very nice gentleman brought out a new fillet and veg. We continued to get bad service off this lady for the rest of the night. All in all 9out of 10. Will definitely go back but just hope we get the same waitress.

Expresso Bar Cafe & Wine Bar (Ballsbridge)
1 St Mary's Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin

I booked a table for two here for myself and my girlfriend. when we arrived there seemed no need as it was nowhere near full capacity. The menu was quite good and diverse and there were about 4 mains I would have loved to have. We shared the chicken wings for starters which were quite nice, no complaints there. I had a fish pie for main course which had no taste to it at all, very fresh but very bland. My girlfriend had a duck salad and the sauce was so over-powering and sweet she couldn't eat it and sent it back. We ordered a sticky toffee pudding for dessert which was in fact very nice and just the right amount. The service was the worst I have ever encountered in a restaurant with the menus taking ages, I even had to bring up the bill to the waiter as he failed to collect it 20mins after giving it to us. I hope my experience was just a flash in the pan, on paper the restaurant has a lot going for it and the food is nice but not amazing and it is good value for money so my advice is to approach with caution.
