I had the pleasure of eating here last monday, its a lovely spot right in the heart of dalkey. I had the pan seared scallops with boudin noir, mash and foie gras . What a fabulous dish , beautifully presented, the biggest, most succulent scallops I have ever tasted, silky smooth well seasoned mash with a portion of warm and delicious foie gras. They also do a well priced 2 course bistro menu. Highly recommend.

The Old Schoolhouse (Dublin)
Coolbanagher Church Road, North Co. Dublin, Swords, Dublin

Had a wonderful meal at The old Schoolhouse last night. The upstairs is a wonderful oasis of calm away from the busy bustling and fun bar downstairs with its many cosy nooks and crannies and great atmosphere. We were in time for the early bird menu which had a great selection and with the added bottle of house wine has got to be the best value in Dublin. The portions were huge, the chicken and black pudding starter was delicious, full of flavour, my hake was beautifully cooked and I loved the butter bean accompaniment as for the paris brest desert, huge and delicious, could not quite finish but did my best. I will be back very soon, just sorry i missed out on last weeks voucher deal, I will be watching for the next one. Oh and a quick mention for the service which was excellent, very friendly, professional and attentive throughout...

Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK Swords)
Pavillion Shopping Centre, Malahide Road, Swords, Dublin

Disappointed with this restaurant, service was slow and not very friendly, all the wait staff appeared miserable. Burgers were just OK, buns were burnt, chips were full of small 'end of the barrel 'bits. Expensive for what you got. Toilets were in an awful condition.

Jamie's Italian
Pembroke District, Dundrum Shopping Centre, Dublin 14 , Dundrum, Dublin

Lovely meal at Jamies italian, we were served by an excellent and very attentive American server. Service was swift and the meal was delicious, we went for a selective of items from the menu served tapas style, particularly delicious was the crispy squid stater with garlichy mayo, love the meat boards as well and the delicious italian bread. Hope to return very soon. Highly recommend.

Milano (Grand Canal Harbour)
Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin

Milanos at grand Canal Quay is a perfect place to eat before a show at the Bord gais, menu is big and varied, staff are friendly and helpful. the pizzas are top rate, I love the thin crust and the polenta chips. Also like the idea of the coffee and mini desert combo.

Hard Rock Cafe
12 Fleet Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

What a wonderful welcome we received yesterday at The Hard Rock Cafe on Valentines Day. the service was very friendly and attentive throughout. The chicken wings were delicious and I was lusting after the huge plate of Nachos on a neighbouring table , easily big enough to share between 4. The burgers at hard rock are fantastic and great value. There are a number of similar style restaurants in Temple Bar, so if you are trying to decide which one to visit, I can highly recommend Hard Rock, dont miss looking at all the memorabilia around the premises and the shop on the way out.

Royal Plaza
Meakstown, North Dublin, Finglas, Dublin

Had dinner here with a group of friends. The entrance to the restaurant and stairs is a bit dismal but the restaurant itself was pleasant with a nice atmosphere, Staff were friendly and attentive. Portions were large, with starters big enough to be shared with 2 people. I had a delicious crispy chicken dish, which was spicy and sweet at the same time , I loved it. There was an all in dinner menu with plenty of choice which was excellent value. Big dishes of fried rice were passed around Coffee was not great, but apart from that was pleasantly surprised.

The Quays Irish Restaurant
10-12 Temple Bar Square, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

Had a very enjoyable evening at this restaurant. We availed of the Special b menu which was great value. The boxty cake was fab, nicely cooked and full of flavour. Had the fish and chips, big fresh piece of cod in nice batter which was crisp and not at all greasy, served with chunky home made chips. great value at 18.95 for 2 courses. nice atmosphere and friendly service.

Milano (Temple Bar)
19 East Essex Street, Dublin 2, City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

I visited this restaurant on Monday. The service was excellent, our server was enthusiastic, friendly and efficient. One of the party chose the recommended pizza Romana Al Tirolo which was excellent, especially if you like mushrooms. I had the pizza leggaro gustosa which was a little bland. The tiramisu was one of the nicest that I had tasted in a while. I felt the pizzas were a little expensive especially for a quick early evening meal.

Thunder Road Cafe
Fleet Street, Dublin 2, Temple Bar, Dublin

I ate at this restaurant with my husband and teenage son. We were very disappointed. it was not busy, but it took over 20 minutes for our order to be taken. We ordered 2 burgers and a macaroni pasta dish. The burgers were unimaginative and dry. The burger buns were untoasted and also dry. The fries were fine. My son only ate half his macaroni describing it has luke warm with a heavy gloopy sauce. For a burger meal there is much better quality and value to be found in the city. Will not be returning.
