Was there tonight Saturday with friends - and all I can say is OMG.. went inside and the smell of fabulous food greeted us. Went upstairs to have a drink before hand.Great menu of cocktails - both alcoholic and non alcoholic catered for.Had appletini/strawberry kiss(non alcoholic )/bulmers.Cocktails started at 7.50€. Then were called at our time booked for our table. We were seated right beside the serving hatch but far enough away.Menus brought straight away to us.Water brought to table Keith Kenny makes a point to come out to greet customers which makes it a nice relaxed atmosphere. Queen of Tarts
4 Cork Hill Dame Street, City Centre South, Dublin

I read some great reviews of this place, and was finally able to visit after weeks of hearing about it. It was a revelation, I started of with a brilliant scone, followed by a tarte of potatoes, onion, cheese and rosemary. This was brought to me with salad, home made chutney and cheese bread. Everything was as delicious as it sounds. Because I was full after all of this, I was not able to taste any of the good looking cakes that were on display. Therefore I decided to bring some home for later on and they were as delicious. For all of this and for the nice atmosphere in the place, I would strongly recommend this place if you are looking for a light lunch or an afternoon coffee break.

Mongolian Barbeque
7 Anglesea Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I love this place - I have been there multiple times and have never had a negative experience. The concept is basic but brilliant, and overall quite original for Dublin. It's a make your own BBQ/strirfry hybrid. There is a great selection of raw veg, and separate meats. You get a bowl of each - choose your own. Add spices and sauces of your choice (again they offer an abundance of offerings).. and then give both bowls to the chef. He stands behind a flat stone gridle... dumps your meat onto the roasting surface...slices and dices your well seasoned selection...adds the veg and then serves it to you, freshly coocked, in a single bowl... At your table there is rice waiting (generally an unlimited amount of this isffe offered )... ...sit down and enjoy. One of the best features here is the deals that they have - Unlimited trips to the Main Course Buffet Steamed Rice as required €15.99 Choice of Starter or Dessert from the lists below Unlimited trips to the Main Course Buffet Steamed Rice as required €19.99 Choice of Starter from the lists below Unlimited trips to the Main Course Buffet Steamed Rice as required Choice of Dessert from the list below €23.99 Specials : Come in Early Bird offer, before 7pm (Sun to Thurs) or before 6.30pm (Fri & Sat) to get 20% off all food. Students receive almost 40% off our Dinner menu prices (With a valid Student Card)

The Boxty House
20-21 Temple Bar, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

i'd booked a table at Gallagher's Boxty House for this evening, but we were all so famished that we turned up early. Glad we did as they had a couple of guys providing musical entertainment from 5 - 6 and it was jolly nice I can tell you, to tap along (mainly in time), and sit back and relax with a bottle of wine. (Between two of us, not each!) Now, non of us are really big eaters and we were a little dubious about eating out as the times we have in the past we have wasted so much food. Gallagher's however, proved that if it's blummin good, you stuff yourself! male friend started with the potato cake which was very tasty, light and very moorish, whilst I had the Black Pudding and Bacon warm salad - truly scrumptious I can tell you. male friend decided on a "boxty" which, as far as I know is nothing like a real Irish Boxty .. it was, however, rather like an oatcake which parcelled up the most mouth watering beef - so tender it fell to pieces. Gorgeous. i chose Farmhouse Grill - 5oz sirloin steak, gammon steak, hand-linked pork and herb sausage, Clonakilty black pudding, grilled tomato, baked flat cap mushroom and choice of potatoes. In the end there was a bit of room left for me to have a proper Irish Coffee and for Mike to indulge his sweet taste in Brown Bread and Baileys Ice Cream .. with an extra shot of Baileys. What can I say? Mmmmmmmmmm
