Visited this new milano restaurant for lunch today. I must say the place had a brillant atmosphere with a mix of families and business men enjoying the food. From the moment I walked in, the waiting staff and manager were brillant, chatting to the customer and nothing seemed like too much trouble. Had their really reasonable lunch menu of 12.50euro for a main course and drink. Had the Fiorentina pizza of spinch, egg, garlic and olives. Waiter even asked what way I wanted my egg. Manager was great host, suggesting different foods and heard him say about new menu dishes which sounded lovely. Really nice seating area outside and will defo return to sample it once the good weather hopefully comes by

Went to market bar today with my friend for a quick lunch. Used to be a regular visitor but hadn't been in ages. Food still good as I remembered but wasn't as impressed with the feta salad. Not as nice as it used to be. What hadn't changed was the really bad service. 2 waiters and 1 manager on, took ages to get their attention (granted they apologised for this). So what could be a quick meal turns into 'grab the attention' game. What really annoyed me was the fact the waiter by-passed the option of leaving a gratuity on the credit card machine. I'm aware that the all waiting staff nationwide have to pay tax on this now, but as a consumer I feel that this should be left to the customer. As we didn't have any money on us, he lost out on a nice tip and also left a bad taste in our mouths!!!!!!!!

Ryan's of Ratoath Bar & Restaurant
Main Street, Ratoath, Meath

Visited here after recommendation and also due to the fact we both LOVE our steak. Does exactly what it says on the tin and the steaks are HUGE. I got the fillet steak and the boss got sirlion. We shared chips and lovely french fried onions and the pepper sauce. In fairness, one steak would have easily been enough between 2. Really tender and juicy. Service was warm and friendly, just like you where at someone's home. Ok, the surroundings could do with a bit of a lick of paint, but you don't look the wall when the food comes out or while you're eating. Will defo return to sample their great steaks again and possibly with elasicated trousers!!

Enoteca Novello
Corballis Demesne, Ratoath, Meath

Had a quick bite here one lazy Saturday afternoon. Smoked chicken on ciabatta with goats cheese (my fav) and spicy relish on top. Really nice, but would recommend the cheese to be slighlty melted. Couldn't sample wine list as I was driving but looked great. Particulary liked the little deli out the front. If the summer lasts, this would defo be the place to still outside and have a glass or too. Will be back.

Koh
6-7 Jervis Street, Millennium Walkway, Dublin 1, City Centre, Italian Quarter, Dublin

Went to Koh last night with my friend who had never been there. Service was top notch from the start as the manager seated us and got our drinks and explained the al a carte menu as well as the savage Dine In Dublin menu which we went for. Great choice of food on the menu which for 3 courses including T and C was 25 quid. Had coconut prawns and mango salsa and old fav of green curry, My friend had the crispy rolls and chicken and cashew nuts. All food was brillant, really tasty and my friend was really impressed. 2 banoffi ended the meal with coffee and with 3 beers and a glass of wine the bill came to 72 quid!!! Brillant service, pleasant atmosphere and value like that, rock on the Dine in Dublin week. I'll be back regardless.

YO Sushi (Dundrum)
Level 1, Unit 26A, Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin

Avoid if you want something cheap and cheerful. Complete rip off for 9 plates of food at 44 euro. Poor selection of cold food on the belt although the hot food looked nice. Poor service as well with no interaction with any customers. Won't return to Yo Sushi.

Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK South Anne Street)
5 South Anne Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Visited this new branch of GBK this week and was everything I thought it would be. Had visited the restaurants in the UK and must say it is far superior to them. I really like the fact that they have table service which is completely dirfferent to the UK. The interior is nice with loads of wood and the tables aren't too close. You would know that the staff are all brand new because although she was only doing her job the waitress that sat me at my table was a bit in my face. Ordered a cheese burger with extra pineapple. Totally savage burger, really fresh ingredients and the type of meal that you wouldn't want to eat on a first date. The burger which I asked to be well done was perfect and the tomato relish was delish. However, I did eat at 3.30pm and they only had 2/3 tables at the time. Would like to try it when it is busy to compare. Will defo return to this branch and wish them every success. Keep up the good work lads.

Mao Restaurant (Dun Laoghaire)
The Pavillion, South Co, Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

After reviewing this branch of Mao back in January, I decided with tummy rumbling for their chilli squid I'd give it another chance. Place had about 12 tables which was quiet for a friday lunch I suppose. Took a while to place my order but once I did the food arrived pretty quick. Chilli squid was savage and well seasoned. My main course of the lunch time portion of nasi goreng was ok with my request for a hard egg perfect. Food including sparkling water was 19 quid. The kitchen seem to be doing their job ok but service still leaves a lot to be desired. It was amazing to see however, the service improve dramatically when the owner/manager came in with his family and sat at table next to me. Would opt for the takeaway food instead so I wouldn't have to endure the souless service again.

Lagoona Bar & Restaurant
Mayor Square, IFSC, City Centre North, Dublin

Called in for lunch today. Had carvery was ok. Had turkey (which was barely luke-warm) veg and spuds were ok. Only thing that made up for it was the really nice waitress. Very smiley girl and friendly. Wouldn't be rushing back.

Beckett's
Cooldrinagh House, Leixlip, Kildare

First time we had been to Becketts was on Saturday night. The restaurant had a great buzzy atmosphere and we had drinks in the warm reception area. Ordered the potato cake to start which was lovely, just needed a little more mustard sauce. Main course was hake was delish as where the usual suspects of veg, sweetcorn and carrots etc. Desert was the only part of the meal that wasn't up to my expections. Had a Baileys creme brulee which was just ok. Would defo recommend Becketts to anyone looking for a lovely meal in a really welcoming atmosphere. Service was top notch. Will defo be back and have the vension next time. Keep up the good work.

La Bucca & Wine Bar
Corballis Demesne, Ratoath, Ratoath, Meath

I've been to La Bucca loads of times and can't understrand what some of the previosu reviews have said. Yes the place can be a little noisy but that is called ATMOSPHERE. Food is always consistantly good and really like the specials board. Lemon Chilli Chicken is the bomb. Banoffi pie is one of the nicest I've tasted. Very family friendly restaurant which is such a bonus. Service is great, staff very accomodating (more so in the Ratoath branch than the Ashbourne one I have to say). Will defo recommend it to anyone. Keep up the good work.

Mohana
Main Street, Maynooth, Maynooth, Kildare

Came here for my boyfriends birthday with our friends. Normally get take-away from here which is always good. Staff very friendly and always make you feel welcome. We all had 3 courses with a nice wine and some beers just over 200 euro, which was brilliant for the amount of food that we got. Jumbo prawn madras is savage with the nicest prawns I've ever had. We never felt rushed with our meal. Lovely coconut ice-cream for pudding. Only let down was they used to serve a complimentary shot with the bill, which they no longer do. Overall would recommend it as the best Indian I've been to (and I've been to loads!!!!).

Milano (Clarion Quay)
Unit 6, Excise Walk, Clarion Quay, Dublin 1, City Centre, IFSC, Dublin

After reading the review from Claire the newbie about her experiece in the Milano restaurant, I simply have to disagree with her review. I too attended the concert that night (it rocked by the way) and my experience in Milano was somewhat different. My boyfriend and I arrived and the place was already packed but were told at the door that we could be waiting up to 40 minutes for our food. We decided we would wait and were then shown to our table. We just wanted a main course and granted we did wait almost 30 minutes for the food, we both had a savage tuna and roquito pepper pizza and side salad (just love the dressing on it), but hey we knew that before we sat down. Service was grand considering the place was rammed. I really do feel that people need to be aware that if somewhere is so busy then either bite the bullet and wait for the food or don't take the table in the first place. I would return to this Milano.
