Peperina Bistro Garden
25 Dunville Avenue, Dublin 6, Ranelagh, Dublin

Excellent food and friendly waiter service. One big negative: Even though the restaurant states on the Hi-Life website that the Hi-Life card may be used at lunch-time everyday except Saturday and Sunday and even though we mentioned Hi-Life when booking by phone for Thursday and showed cad when we arrived at restaurant - we were told on the phone and upon arrival that the card was acceptable yet when the manager presented the bill at the end of the meal he refused to accept the Hi-life cad, saying it was only accepted in the evening and made us pay the full amount. Beware!

Rolys Bistro
7 Ballsbridge Terrace, Dublin, Ballsbridge, Dublin

Food excellent quality and great value with a Menupages voucher. First class chef. Waiters on the condescending side and service a little slow.

Roast
10a Merrion Rd, Dublin 4, Ballsbridge, Dublin

Had voucher for 5-course tasting menu. 2 courses very small: amuse bouche and pre-dessert. Food tasty but service very slow. Coffee served before dessert - dessert never arrived even though we asked for it twice - in the end we just left. Plenty of serving staff but disorganised.

Kitchen 62
62 Upper George's St, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Pros:1. Very good value - went with a voucher and wasn't charged supplement for 16 oz steak. 2. Friendly serving staff. 3. Tasty food. Cons: 1. Waiting a long time for main course because of mix up with order in kitchen. 2. No condiments on table - had to wait for salt & pepper - asked for vinegar which never arrived. 3. Had to ask 3 times for coffee before it eventually arrived. 4. Understaffed: only 2 young waitresses on fairly busy Friday night - no sign of manager. 5. Disorganised - needs a manager.

Roly Saul The Restaurant
The Mill House, Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin

Celebrated my 50th birthday here. Staff and management could not have been nicer and more helpful. Fabulous food at a reasonable price, and we had a nice private area for ourselves, Will definitely be back

Morrison Grill
The Morrison, Ormond Quay Lower, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

Food is tasty and waitress friendly. However, extremely slow at preparing food in kitchen - waited over half an hour for the main course and another half an hour for the cheese board to be served. The cheese board was served without crackers which took another 10 minutes to arrive. Meal spoiled by lengthy delays.

The Brasserie @ Leopardstown
Bewley's Hotel Leopardstown, Central Park , Leopardstown, Dublin

Early Bird very good value: 20 euro for two courses. Friendly professional service. Car parking included: added bonus.

La Belle Fontaine
85 Marlborough Street, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

This is your typical greasy spoon café - rough and ready. Stuck to chicken for main course which seemed the safest bet. Quality of food: average. First restaurant I was ever in which refused to give a glass of tap water with a meal - I suppose the owner has to make a few euro somewhere. Ironic sign in bathroom about being careful of the very hot water: only water that came out of tap was cold! If you want a Fawlty Towers experience..... .

Poor value for money e.g scallops + boiled rice cost 22 euro. Quality only average. Restaurant under-staffed: long wait for food and even a glass of water had to be requested three times. Won't to making a return visit.

Alexis Bar And Grill
17 / 18 Patrick Street, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Went with a voucher/deal - felt not given best service as a result. Cassoulet Toulouse was hot and tasty - however, small portion. Similarly, with wife's Tartlet. Glass of wine more like half a glass. Better value and service to be found elsewhere.

Sing Yeang Asian Restaurant
6 Albert Walk, Bray, Wicklow

Friendly welcome. Very extensive Chinese,Malaysian and Thai menu. As a Starter had Lettuce Parcel Yuk Sung (for two person): Minced pork and crunchy vegetables on a bed of crispy rice Noodles and served individually on fresh lettuce leafs with Hoisin Sauce. Absolutely delicious. Wife had tasty Chicken and Sweetcorn Soup. Beef for main course - equally delicious. Manageress made us feel so at home - very well informed and helpful without being intrusive. Will be back.

Harrys Cafe Bar
21 Upper George's Street, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Availed of a meal deal. Friendly welcome and allowed to choose our own table even to the extent of putting two tables together so that we could both sit with our backs to the wall. My wife had Chilli Garlic Gambas on Toasted Bruschetta and I had Tex-Mex Chilli Beef Nachos as starters: both generous portions and very tasty. Had tuna from starter menu as a main course + Char-Grilled Aged Striploin - all full of flavour. Attentive waiter replenished our water without needing to be asked. The quality of the food and the friendliness of the service made for a very pleasant experience - will be back.

Konkan Indian Restaurant Dundrum
1 Upper Kilmacud Road, Dundrum Village, Opp Dundrum Garda Station, Dundrum, Dublin

Arrived at 18.30 on a Friday - only one other couple in restaurant but filled up as evening went on. We had the sharing platter which is great value at 20 euro per person (minimum of 2 people required). Half a dozen starters + half a dozen main courses brought to table: very tasty selection. Staff friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Will return.

Delhi Lounge Indian Restaurant
15 Main Street, Rathfarnham Village, South Dublin, Rathfarnham, Dublin

Availed of a Living Social deal. Welcomed warmly on arrival and allowed to choose our own table. Deal explained to us and told that the deal did not include sea food which entailed a 2 euro supplement. My wife had prawns for starter which was well worth the extra 2 euro - I had lamb kebab which was very tasty. For mains we both had chicken which was delicious. Service was attentive without being intrusive. This restaurant used to be "Casanova" until recently - if you are looking for it on Google Maps.

Vermilion
94-96 Terenure Road, Dublin 6 , Terenure, Dublin

Visited last Friday evening as part of a MenuPages Deal. Greeted by manager and given choice of tables. We had the mixed platter for two as a starter: very tasty selection. As a main course my wife had the vegetarian curry and I had the Gosht Mehzabin (tender pieces of lamb marinated overnight in chef’s special marination & saffron water. Finished with cream & garnished with nuts) as I like meat that has been marinated. Both dishes had the right balance of spices. There is a supplementary charge if you wish to have prawns. Desserts chosen were 3 scoops of homemade ice cream and creme brulee - both really delicious. Live music started at 19.30 which added to the pleasant atmosphere. Waiter/waitress service was attentive without being intrusive. The manager presented us with a voucher entitling us to a 20% discount next time. All in all a most enjoyable experience.

Oliviers at the Schoolhouse
2-8 Northumberland Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin

Best restaurant that we have eaten in. Pre-theatre menu is very good value. Service is excellent with lots of special tasting treats in between courses. One word of warning about the menu though: the menu as published on their website is much more extensive than the actual menu offered in the restaurant: for example, on the website pre-theatre menu a choice of 7 starters and 5 mains are offered but in the restaurant a choice of only 2 starters and 2 mains are available. Similar discrepancy with price: on website the degustation menu is quoted as 60 euro but on the menu in the restaurant as 80 euro. Should really update their website or else honour what is published on it. In fairness they did give us 2 complimentary side orders as compensation for their errors.

Ashford House on the Weir Gastro Pub
Ashford House, Ashford, Wicklow

Availed of a MenuPages deal which made the good value available all the better. Arrived 10 minutes early and were seated promptly; restaurant is a section of the pub. For Starters had the brie which was complemented by the sweet relish. Wife had the tomato & basil soup with brown bread. Main course was a plentiful supply of pieces of monkfish in tomato sauce with saffron rice. Very tasty. Wife had a large escalope of breaded pork with potatoes. We found that the sauces given were different from those listed on the menu. No problem for us as we like most sauces but if you are particular.... Also lettuce is substituted for other listed accompaniments. Again no problem for us as we like lettuce but if you want what's written down on the menu it would be a good idea to check when ordering. We had Plum Tart and Apple Tart for dessert and the were delicious. Be careful to order from the correct menu i.e. the one covered by the MenuPages voucher if you are availing of same. We almost ordered desserts from another menu but the waitress put us right. All the food was of a good standard with the high points being the Plum Tart dessert and the friendly waiting staff.

Radhuni Indian Restaurant
8a The Crescent, Monkstown, Dublin

Went for Sunday lunch - only day it opens for lunch - using a City Deal. Arrived at 13.15 just as restaurant was opening. Deal includes a glass of wine + any main course. They allow a soft drink instead of a glass of wine. I found that the wine was perfectly acceptable and not watered down as claimed by previous reviewer. My wife had Chicken Tikki (brought sizzling to the table) and I had the Jumbo Prawns Masala - both with Pilau Rice. Both dishes were very tasty. We were served by a very friendly waiter. Service was first class which I suppose is not surprising as we were the only customers - this is a good time to go for a meal if you want the place to yourself.

Indian Brasserie
Butterfield Avenue, Rathfarnham Village, Rathfarnham, Dublin

Availed of a CityDeal voucher which entitled us to a shared mixed platter selection: very tasty. For the main course we had Chicken Tikka double marinated in 16 spices and Lamb Rogan Josh. Both dishes were very flavoursome. The drink which is included is Mango Lassi which is very refreshing. The service is prompt and the waiter explains the ingredients. Overall an enjoyable experience.

Plaza Bar & Grill
Academy Plaza Hotel, Findlater Place, Off O'Connell St, City Centre North, Dublin

Availed of CityDeal voucher: amazing value at 45 euro for four people: soup + any main course + tea/coffee + bottle of wine. Since there were only three of us they allowed a dessert each. Pea soup very tasty. Limited selection of main courses. Has gotten much busier since previous visit 3 months ago - may explain very slow service.

Fillies Bar & Restaurant
Leopardstown Racecourse, Leopardstown, Dublin

Availed of a CityDeal. Arrived at 7 pm on a Saturday just as restaurant opened. We had soup and tiger prawns for starters. Both very tasty. Friendly prompt service. Beef (5 euro extra) + duck (today's special) for main courses. Allowed to have coffee in place of dessert. Food is of an excellent quality. Fantastic value for money with a CutyDeal.

Ho Wun Chinese Takeaway & Restaurant
2 Main Street, Dunboyne, Meath

Visited on a Friday evening. Very good value for money; 3 courses for 16 euro. I had spare ribs for starter: very tasty, plenty of meat. Wife had chicken & sweetcorn soup. We both had prawns with a choice of sauces + rice or chips for the main course. The third course consisted of tea, coffee or ice cream. Service was friendly without being intrusive. We were staying at The Dunboyne Castle Hotel which is located within easy walking distance.

BD Spice
Eden House (Above Eden House Pub), Grange Road, South Dublin, Rathfarnham, Dublin

Had Sunday lunch: excellent value for €9.95 (reduced from €11.95) which includes tea/coffee. Had Samosas for starter and Chicken Tikka with Pulao Rice for main: both very tasty. Wife had Chicken Tandoori which was equally good. Open for lunch on Saturday & Sunday only. Opened as an Indian/Bangladeshi restaurant only 6 months ago - used to be a Thai restaurant and the decor is reminiscent of this. Service prompt without being intrusive.

The Arch Bistro
Above the Glenside Pub, Landscape Road, South Dublin, Churchtown, Dublin

Four of us went for Sunday lunch. Advise booking as quite busy. Comfortable seats and large table which was appreciated as sometimes restaurants can be quite cramped. Friendly attentive waiters even though, as mentioned, restaurant was busy. Pork, slow-roasted for 12 hours, was melt-in-your-mouth. Excellent value with 2 courses for 15 euro (Sunday lunch). No room for dessert.

My Thai
The Beacon Hotel, Beacon Court, Dublin 18, Sandyford, Dublin

Pleasant experience. Good quality food and friendly staff. Even though advertised on Menupages Early Bird no longer available. Waiter told us that instead of Early Bird 30% would be deducted from all items on menu. When bill arrived deduction did not amount to 30%. Somewhat annoying - otherwise enjoyable experience.

La Dolce Vita - The Chase
