I had eaten here previously and it was one of my favorite restaurants for special occasions. However I was very disappointed with the food. The menu had completely changed, the old menu had a fantastic choice and specialized in steak but this menu was nothing special. When we asked the waiter about this he informed is that the chief had changed and that a number of customers had commented on the menu change. The starters were nice but the mains were a let down, I had the monk fish which was nice but a bit dry and served on a bed of cold mash. I was very surprised that a restaurant of this standard could serve cold food. My boyfriend had the steak which was over salted to the point that it wasn't eatable. When he mentioned it to the waiter he insisted he would have another one sent out within 5 minutes but this was more like 20 minutes. I had long finished my main and the side we had ordered to share was cold. The waiting staff were very professional and apologetic but unfortunately nothing can make up for poor food. They did discount the steak from the bill. I definitely expected much higher standards from a restaurant that charges these prices.

Tante Zoes
1 Crow Street, Temple Bar, Temple Bar, Dublin

Ate here with one of the menupage vouchers and unfortunately it was the first time I really had difficulty booking a table. The restaurant seemed to have stopped answering the phone for a few weeks and never got back to us if we tried to book online and this did not set it up to be a good experience. Eventually we booked a table after talking to menupage staff. I had eaten here in the past but it really has gone down hill. A lot of the food tasted like it came from the freezer, it has turned into a bit of a greasy spoon. The staff were friendly but I doubt I will go back.

Chapter One Restaurant
18/19 Parnell Square, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

Had a wonderful experience here. Everything from start to finish was perfect. We were greeted in a very friendly, personal manner. The restaurant was very busy (even on a Tuesday) but despite this the staff were very attentive. The food is absolute top quality, the best I have had in dublin to date. The experience was well worth the price, I will definitely be returning the next time I have a special occasion.

Millstone, A Dublin Restaurant
39 Dame Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Very good service, a great athmosphere and a fantastic early bird with lots of choice. I was particularly impressed with the smoked salmon pizza, it was delicous. Will definitely be going back here.

Greens Restaurant
Leopardstown Inn, Brewery Road, Leopardstown, Dublin

Tried the early bird menu here which was fantastic value and had loads of choice. The food was delicious, the service was also very good. The restaurant has very funky decor and a great athmosphere. Even though we were there before 7 we were very lucky to get the last table as we had not booked. Will deinitely be going back here.

Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK Liffey Valley)
Unit 40B, Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, West Dublin, Liffey Valley, Dublin

Ate here with a friend, the burgers were tasty as were the sides of onion rings and fries. The service howevver was a let down, we did get a very friendly greeting from who I assume was the manager but after that we were left at our table and ignored by the waitress. I spent about 15 minutes trying to get her attention for our drink refills, even when she came to clear the table next to us and I practically waved in her face she passed by our table and asked the people seated behind us if everything was OK. After some very intense waving she eventually came over to us and then took ages to bring the refills, by then we were finished eating anyway. The bill was €32 for the two of us which was not bad. Don't know if I will go back, I'd rather spend my money where I don't get ignored by the waitress!

Mitsuba Japanese Restaurant
154 Parnell Street, City Centre North, Dublin

One of the best place for sushi in Dublin. The restaurant is no frills but this is what makes it such an enjoyable dining experience, everything about it feels authentic. The sushi is very fresh and the service is friendly. The athmosphere was OK, when we visited but a lot of this was down to the fact we were having an early dinner. I thought it was good value for money as the food was top quality and it would be similar prices to other sushi restaurants.

Pavarotti's
Fry Place, Athlone, Westmeath

Absolutely love this place, I eat here everytime I'm in Athlone. I have yet to find better Italian food. Everything on the menu is so authentic. I particularly love the garlic mushrooms, pavarotti's potatoes and the chicken fettuccine. It is fantastic value for money, very hard to find such quality food at such reasonable prices. The athmosphere is always amazing and despite the fact that the restaurant can get very crowded it never feels cramped, it just adds to the athmosphere. The service is fantastic, very warm and friendly. Can't wait until I'm in Athlone again!

The Counter Suffolk Street
20 Suffolk Street, City Centre South, Dublin

Unfortunately this place does not quite live up to the standards of the original branch. The buffalo wings were disappointing and I have to say was very taken aback by the 50c extra for "premium" toppings. Fair enough if you wanted caviar on your burger but charging extra for what I would see as basic toppings such as fried onion strings is very cheeky, it's ment to be a recession! Staff were very friendly but the service was too fast. Burgers were brought out before we were finished our starters which made us feel very rushd. The burgers were nice although they did taste like they were pre cooked and reheated. Doubt I will go back to this particular branch.

FIRE Restaurant and Lounge
Mansion House, Dawson Street, Dublin 2, Dawson Street, Dublin

Ate here before a show and was a very enjoyable experience. Table was booked for 5.45 so we could avail of the early bird but I ended up being a half hour late. Staff were very accommodating and still let us order from the early bird menu. This is probably the best value early bird I have eaten from, the food is fantastic and there were no supplementry charges for the steak which I had. Will defiinitely be coming back here.

WILDE
The Westbury, Grafton Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I treated my boyfriend to a birthday dinner here. Enjoyed everything about this place. Service was fantastic, very professional and staff were very friendly and helpfull. Starters were lovely, we had the prawn cocktail and the chicken terraine. We oredered the 30oz steak for two and while we waited the waiter brought us complimentry sorbets. Steak was very tender and cooked to perfection. Unfortunately we were way too full for dessert but will be an excuse for us to go back. Our bill which also included a bottle of wine was €125 and for the quality of our experience it was well worth it. Would definitely reccommend this place for a special occasion.

JD's Steakhouse
4 Rathfarnham Road, Dublin 6W, Terenure, Dublin

Visited here before Christmas and was very impressed. Although we arrived a good hour after the early bird finished we were still offered the menu from which we ordered. Staff were very friendly and service was very good. The food was delicous, definitely the best food I've had for ages. Our bill for 2 early birds and a bottle of wine was €60 which I thought was very reasonable for the quality of the service and food.

Spurs Family Restaurant
U42 Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, Liffey Valley, Liffey Valley, Dublin

The one thing that amazes me about this place is that people actually que for it. Visited here last weekend hoping it would have improved from my previous visit but it hadn't. The service was ok and the athmosphere is good but the food is awful. The only thing that I liked was the chicken wings, everything else was highly processed and swimming in grease. The worst thing about this place is the price of the food, our bill for a shared starter, 2 mains and 2 soft drinks came to €63, an absolute rip off for the quality of food. Definitely will not be going back.

One Pico Restaurant
5-6 Molesworth Place, Schoolhouse Lane, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Was very lucky to be treated to a meal here for my birthday. We both ordered off the early bird which was very good value and the choice offered is a lot more varied than most early birds. It is a fantastic place to go for a special occassion and it is worth every penny for the quality of the food and service you get. There is a fantastic athmosphere, staff do not rush you away from the table, even though we were eating from the early bird we were able to stay as long as we wanted. Can't wait to go back here!

El Bahia Moroccan Restaurant
37 Wicklow Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Had a very nice experience here last week. I ordered from their early bird menu which was fantastic value - 3 courses plus tea, coffee or Morocan mint tea for €20. The food was very nice, especially my chicken tajine which was so tender. The portions were very generous considering it was an early bird. The service was very friendly and although it was very quiet in the restaurant there was still a nice athmosphere.

Jo'Burger
137 Rathmines Road, Dublin 6 , South Dublin, Rathmines, Dublin

I think I have to agree with many of the reviewers that the only real bad point about this place is the actual restaurant layout itself, very cramped and can be a bit loud as it is such a small space (and I am still the right side of 25!). I don't like the canteen style seating. Its not ideal if you are coming as a couple, the branch in Blackrock had a much nicer, spacious layout. But they still do the best burgers in Dublin! I love the lamb burger and there is a great choice of unusual but delicous toppings. The value for money is not bad when you see the size of the burgers served. The food does make up for the cramped seating as I have gone back a few times but I hope they can maybe get a bigger premises!

Salamanca
1 St Andrews Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Have been here a few times and the food is always fantastic. The best thing about the tapas style menu is that you can try a little of everything. It is well worth leaving room for dessert as they have the most amazing profito rolls. The service is very friendly and there is always a lovely authentic athmosphere to the place. The food is good value as the portion sizes are very decent.

Little Jerusalem - Rathmines
3 Wynnefield Road, Dublin 6 , Rathmines, Dublin

An absolute gem ,had the pleasure of eating here on Friday. The restaurant is very casual but very charming and full of authentic character. The service is also casual but in a very friendly, personal way. The food is fantastic, very authentic and the prices are very very reasonable. I think they bake their own naan bread as it is so fresh and the meat is so tender (I think its Halal). Our bill for two amazing starters, two mouthwatering main courses, a side of naan and drinks came to €43 which for a Friday night in Dublin is pretty hard to beat for food of this standard. Definitely will be going back.

Il Pomo Doro Restaurant
2A Princess Street, Tralee, Tralee, Kerry

The menu advertised here is slightly different to what I ordered from. Visited here during a weekend away. Were very lucky to get the last table in the place as it was packed. Despite this the service was great and the food was very very good. This is only the second Italian in Ireland I have eaten in that serves authentic food that doesn't taste like its come out of a microwave. Could definitely understand why the place was so packed.

Buenos Aires Grill
Unit 2 Castle Way, Golden Lane, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Has been added to my own top three list of favourite restaurants in Dublin. Have been here a few times and it never disappoints, its a great place to go for a special occasion. The food is top quality, they do the most amazing muscles and there are plenty of other mouth watering choices on the menu. I haven't eaten off the early bird menu yet but it seems like fantastic value and for the quality of food you are getting the a la carte menu is very reasonable too. The service has always been good and they have a guy playing Spanish guitar some nights which gives it a fantastic athmophere.

Dante (Dundrum)
Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin

The biggest let down I've had in ages with regards to eating out. I thought the €12.50 two course meal sounded very reasonable so went for it while the other half ordered from the regular menu. My starter of chicken dippers consisted of a very miserable 3 dippers. Now I would not describe myself as having a big appetitte but even after my main course I was hungry so it was far from good value. It consisted of a tiny pizza with about 90% cheese (you know that awful processed cheese that tastes like greasey plastic) and a few bits of ham and pineapple dotted here and there. The food from the regular menu was no better, portions were just as miserable. The service was pretty bad too. When we arrived there was only one other table occupied and when we asked the waitress for another 2 minutes she disappeared into the kitchen and after a good ten minutes had to get up and go look for someone. to take our order. Athmophere was non existant, definitely will not be going back.

China Buffet King
Cinema Building, Dundrum Town Centre, Sandyford Road, Dundrum, Dublin

Ate here a few weeks ago and doubt I will go back. I can't really complain about the service but the food was not great. The aromatic duck was paobaby the only thing I really liked, the rest of the food just tasted the same - very salty. The dessert was nice but it was WAY over priced, €16.90 (at the weekends) not including a drink (which are also over priced) is a rip off for, I counld have gotten a lot of food for that from my local takeaway. Also the measure your child to see if they qualify as a child thing is weird.

profile_review

The Counter Dundrum
Pembroke District, (adjacent to the Mill Pond at Town Square), Dundrum, Dublin

Have been here loads of times as it is one of the few places in the town centre that offers value for money. The buffalo wings cannot be beaten and the build your own burger menu means even the pickiest of your dinning friends can't complain. It can get a little cramped when they are full and service can be slow but the food makes it worth it.

profile_review

Bellagio
92 Terenure Road North, Dublin 6W, Terenure, Dublin

Ate here one evening because it was the only place for miles around not booked out and I can certainly see why. Staff did not have a very friendly manner. There was an Italian couple seated beside us and the staff kept pushing up beside our table to have very loud chats with them and give them the best service possible while we were ignored again and again. The food was so so. My boyfriend ordered a pizza which was quite nice but the scallops which i had were barely edible, they tasted gritty. Definitely will not be wasting my money with another visit here.

profile_review

Montys of Rathgar
88 Rathgar Road, Rathgar, Dublin

I can honestly say this is the best restaurant I have been to in Dublin. Everything from the service to the food is first class. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The menu may seem a little expensive at first but the quality of the food served makes it well worth it. Definitely will be going back here again and again.

profile_review

Lisa's Trattoria
81 Terenure Road North, South Dublin, Terenure, Dublin

This place is awful, the food is over priced and of extremely poor quality. The staff are very unfriendly, the one senior member of staff was rude and most arrogant man making completely audible and offensive comments about me and my dinning partner as we ate. The restaurant looks like it hasn't been redecorated since the 60s. Will definitely not be going back to this place.

profile_review

Pizza Hut (Liffey Valley)
Liffey Valley Centre 22 Dublin, Liffey Valley, Dublin

This is a great place for top quality pizza and the special offers such as the all you can eat lunch buffet makes it very affordable. It is very handy for taking a much needed break from shopping. The staff are usually very friendly although I once was served by a very rude waitress that made it quite obvious we were ruining her Friday evening by eating there. Although what restaurant doesn't have one or two extremely rude servers nowadays?

profile_review

The Olive Tree Restaurant
The Plaza Hotel, West Dublin, Tallaght, Dublin

The food is expensive but you are paying for top quality food. The service was good, staff are very friendly and they were very quick to take our order and bring our food despite the place being so busy. The menu is varied so there was something for everyone. The whole meal was excellent but for me the best was the dessert which was a surprisingly generous portion and tasted homemade which is another refreshing change from many other restaurants.

profile_review

The Front Lounge
Parliament Street, City Centre South, Dublin

The lunch time food selection is nothing exciting. The best thing about this place is the atmosphere. The last time I was there I spent ages pondering over what type of coffee I wanted only to be told they in fact only had cinnamon flavour.

profile_review

Captain America's Cookhouse And Bar
44 Grafton Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

This place definitely offers the best burgers around and is great for lunch. However the last time I was there the waitress was extremely rude, getting visibly annoyed when we asked for another minute to decide and then avoiding looking over in the direction of our table in case we dared ask for something. The interior design keeps you entertained while you wait for your food.

profile_review

Thai Garden Restaurant
Church Avenue, Blanchardstown Village, Dublin 15, Blanchardstown, Dublin

Was very impressed with this place. The service is very good, the staff are very friendly and there is always someone close by if you need anything. The food quality is very high and it is always a nice change when you order king prawn and actually get it. The whole meal was very good but the best part was the coconut ice-cream we had for dessert. Will definitely be returning to this place soon.

profile_review

Havana Tapas Bar
Georges Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

This is not so much a restaurant as it is a noisy bar. The food is ok as an accompaniment to sangria but on it's own it's nothing special. The atmosphere is vibrant very at night but if you are not south american you may just think it's just plain noisy.

profile_review

Yamamori Sushi, Tengu
38-39 Lower Ormond Quay, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

This is definitely one of my top sushi restaurants. The food is wonderfully authentic and the sushi is very fresh. I always have trouble selecting something from the menu as there is such a wide range of choice of mouth watering dishes on offer. The staff are friendly but at busy times, which is the case more often than not (but it is easy to see why), it would be advisable to book a table. The last time I was here it was jammed and extremely noisy making it difficult to hear what my dinning companion was saying and the order did take a while but the food certainly makes up for this.

profile_review

Joels Restaurant
Newlands Cross, Naas Road, West Dublin, Clondalkin, Dublin

This restaurant is definitely aimed at the young families market and if you do not fit into this category avoid this place at the weekends. It becomes something of a noisy playground and you will be waiting ages for a table. The food quality is OK, it tends to be fresher when you go at busy times but during the week it often looks and tastes like it's been sitting out all day. The choice on the menu is very varied although a lot of the foreign cusine on offer is very westernised but once again this would probably suit the target market. The service is very good, the staff seem to be very well trained and are very efficient.

profile_review

Cactus Jacks (Middle Abbey St)
Millennium Walkway, Middle Abbey Street, City Centre North, Italian Quarter, Dublin

This place has a very good selection of authentic Mexican food. The biggest fault of this place is that the service is slow especially at busy times and perhaps they should consider hiring more staff.

profile_review

Acapulco Restaurant
7 South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

Everything about this place says authentic Mexican from the food to the interior design. It always impresses my Mexican friend and the very reasonable prices means it is somewhere I eat regularly. The one bad point of this place is that most times I have visited there has been one waitress in particular that does not seem to have heard of the expression service with a smile or even of common etiquette. My friend has been barked at for asking for an extra portion of salsa and usually plates are thrown, yes thrown, in front of you with a lot of grunting. This is a pity considering the rest of the staff are more than helpful and friendly. All in all this is a good place for high quality, reasonably priced authentic Mexican food.
