The bar food is lovely and great value for money. not as impressed with the restaurant food tho. The service is awful everytime its like they are doing you a favour by even acknowledging you. takes ages to order and a lifetime to get the food. if you have plenty of time on ur hands then its worth the wait but otherwise id leave it off

Cafe Gusto
3 Washington Street, Cork City, Cork

the food is 10/10. Beautiful wraps with gorgeous chilli sauce drizzled by the side for only €5!!!!!!! flying bacon in a wrap is my particular favourite.toasted or non toasted. Let down slighttly by the wait. my friend and i waited 25minutes on monday for our wraps and we were the only people waiting for food as everyone else was finishing up so ive no idea why it took so long. very crampeed also but the food is so great it wouldnt put me off. also buy ten wraps get one free!!!!!!!

Bishopstown Bar

Ideal if you are a student, dreadful if your not. I wouldnt go again but can see why the students would be keen.

Il Padrino Pizza Pasta House
21 Cook Street, Cork City, Cork

Garlic bread with cheese followed by a hawaiian pizza cant be beaten. great for an early dinner and I always try to get the table by the window so I can watch the world go by. My boyfriend loves his pasta and if he ever wants pasta there is no where else he will go. He is very fussy so this is a huge compliment to Il Padrino.

La Boheme
2 George Street, Waterford City, Waterford

chicken liver parfait is to die for!!!!!!! Visiting la Boheme is a perfect excuse to get all dolled up. Its nice for a treat and has a lovely vibe inside. It is on the dear side id advise getting the early bird although not a huge lot of choice. service was excellent and will go next time i deserve a treat

Ketchup Grill
40 Paul Street, Cork City, Cork

Excellent for lunch. Dont be in a rush tho only seems to be one waitress looking after the place although it is quite small. the burgers are quite light so they fill you but you dont go back to work feeling sluggish. the spring rolls are beautiful and the prices are extremely competitive. Ill certainly be going back

Wildways
21 Princes Street, Cork City, Cork

a big favourite with my colleagues and me. two small delicous scones for a snack or a lovely filled wrap and a pot of tea for lunch. Also do a lovely selection of takeaway sandwiches and salads if your on the run. lovely to get a high stool by the window and sit and watch the world go by at lunchtime

Hassetts Bakery
Main Street, Carrigaline, Cork

the smell when you walk in the shop is undescribable. the freshly baked bread, scones etc are mouth wateringly tempting and just as good when you actually eat them, If you fancy a treat on a saturday morning its defo the place to pop in to.

Eccles Hotel
Glengarriff Eccles Hotel, Glengarriff Harbour, Glengarriff, Cork

ive eaten here many times at weddings, functions etc and the food is never quite up to scratch. the staff cant be beaten they are friendly, attentive and excellent at silver service and keeping the drinks flowing. a lovely hotel with a lovely reception area and a pleasure to visit. if they could just up the quality of the food it would be a must visit for all.

Rainbow Restaurant
Glengarriff, Glengarriff, Cork

Glengarriff Park Hotel
The Village, Glengarriff, Cork

i stayed in the park hotel during the summer and we went for dinner on the friday evening. It was gorgeous. we both had mussels for starter. the portions were HUGE!!!! ive never tasted anything quite as nice. the service was fantastic also. we had a table by the window and could look out into the lovely village of glengarriff. we had such a big feed and it was so nice we didnt leave anything on our plates and were still full the next day. HIGHLY recommended

profile_review

Julies Diner
Wolfe Tone Square, Bantry, Cork

julies dinner is much more than a diner. it offers a huge variety of food. on any of my visits to bantry i have never quite been able to walk past without going in for a feed. the smell of the chips wafts down the street. a dont miss when visiting bantry

14A
French Church Street, Cork City, Cork

my boyfriend and i decided to go into town at the last minute for dinner and wondering where to go the early bird menu caught our eye. we were seated straight away next to the door. (when a table further from te door left they gave us the option to move which we did)we ordered from the set meny €20 each. we both got mussels, beautiful and generous portion. then i got steak and chips while my boyfriend got pork. he was a bit disappointed although it tasted beautiful it was basically a pork chop with the fat cut off. he got apple pie for dessert while i substituted mine for a glass of wine. staff very attentive, nearly overly but you cant criticize them for that. huge value and would defo go there again

profile_review

Lal Quila
Tramways Terrace, Old Garda Station, Douglas, Cork

get the combo starter. its the best thing on the menu. lovely staff.bit dodgy for parking though. even if your only collecting a takeaway. sweets on the counter a nice touch for a lovely restaurant

profile_review

Marco Polo not live
O'Connell Street, Limerick City, Limerick

chicken wings are out of this world as are the ribs. i decided to opt for something different and had the garlic prawns. was very disappointed but overall was a lovely meal. very expensive for drinks and we werent checked on by the staff . the place was very busy tho. luigi malones is always recommended by me because the ribs just cant be beaten

El Vino @ The Elysian
The Elysian Tower, Eglinton Street, Cork City, Cork

Had a function here and was very disappointed. all the food came at different times and when we were finished our mains one of our guests still hadnt gotten his. althought the staff took it off the bill they were not exactly forthcoming. food was alright nothing exceptional. not a fan

profile_review

The Newport Restaurant Cafe Bar
Paul Street, Plaza, Cork City, Cork

i went for a quick dinner here before i went out on the town for the night. we ordered off the specials menus (2 courses for €16.95) and were pleasantly suprised. I had garlic mushrooms for starter and my boyfriend had chicken wings. the portions werre quite small but mouthwatering nice. i had minute steak and my boyfriend had tageletteli carboara. we were both very impressed by the quality and portion sizes. absolutly beautiful. only let down by the staff . i waited 15 minutes for my glass of wine that i ordered when i came in and no one checked on us while eating. overall well worth a trip

profile_review

Man Friday Restaurant
Scilly, Kinsale, Cork

i tend to eat out a lot and tend to try as many places as i can but after eating here i would happily never eat anywhere else again. what a senic view and a lovely restaurant. the entrance is so unique and the staff greet every customer like theyre regular favourites.the food was out of this world. i had brie for starter and tend to be very fussy about how its cooked. it was divine. duck for main course and it was beautiful. im not a big fish eater but the rest of my party went for fish dishes and my mouth was watering looking at them. I would highly recommend this place and look forward to my next trip to kinsale. excellent value too

profile_review

Chilli & Lemon Restaurant & Chinese Takeaway - CLOSED
Mount Oval Village, Rochestown, Co Cork, Douglas, Cork

What a dissapointment. When we arrived the staff barely acknowleged us and waited ages to be seated even tho the restaurant wasnt busy. the food was edible but by no means up to the standard of what it should be for the price we were paying. ill cook my own steak at home in future.

profile_review

The Elm Tree Bar & Restaurant
Glounthaune, Cork City, Cork

my visit on wednesday to the elm tree was a suprise delight. i havent heard much about it perhaps because of its location but i will be raving about it in future. we each had two courses and i couldnt complain about anything if i tried. The service was some of the best i have ever recieved. one girl in particular stood out. she was so helpful and nice that it made tipping a pleasure. i will certainly be bringing my inlaws there soon to impress them

profile_review

Collins Bar @ Carrigaline Court Hotel
Carrigaline, Co Cork, Carrigaline, Cork

Had carvery lunch wasnt great. wasnt bad but would prefer to go somewhere else in future.was dissappointed as i had been told it would be beautiful.bar staff were friendly but some looked like they didnt really want to be there and was ages waiting for my food, dissapointing sums it up in one word

profile_review

New Luyan Chinese Restaurant
Douglas Road, Douglas, Cork

i went here on sat nigth and i cant wait to go again. the food was unreal. I had the ribs for starter and although they didnt look as tasty as some other chineses ribs they tasted out of this world. my boyfriend had chicken wings and they were gorgeous too. some taste off them. i had duck cantonese style for my main course and it was lovely. the staff were very nice and friendly and made sure we were looked after. it was very quiet for a sat night but there was a good atmosphere. on leaving i picked up a takeaway menu and noticed you get a huge 30% off when u order a takeaway. i will definetly become a regular in here

profile_review

Scotts Bar & Restaurant
116 Oliver Plunkett Street, Cork City, Cork

went here for lunch with a friend of mine. i just got a sandwich and she got a full roast dinner. both of which were beautiful. there are preprepared sandwiched in a fridge by the till so you can grab one quick which is handy when your in a rush to go back to work. the roast dinner looked and tasted exceptional. th prices are very reasonable and well worth it. and with a dinner you get a free tea or coffee afterwards. very impressed and will go there again

profile_review

ECO Douglas Restaurant
1/2 Eastville, Douglas Village, Douglas, Cork

ecos is a favourite of many of my friends. the food is always superb but they let themselved down by having customers cramped into small areas and a number of times ive been made to feel like ive a time limit on each course if im there early on a busy night. if we are told that the table is needed again when we book then we will make sure we are gone. i dont like being rushed. the staff are friendly and helpful and the desserts are to die for. you only have to walk past the window to be tempted in by the spectacular display. more room and this would be top class

profile_review

Jade Palace
3, The Mall, Waterford, Waterford City, Waterford

the food here is great.portions sizes just right and its chinese without being too sickly. go here with my relatives in waterford regularly. the earlybird menu is great value. the staff are fantastic and cant do enough to help. the spare ribs followed by the duck cant be beaten. a well known waterford favourite for good reason

profile_review

Bullys Restaurant (Douglas)
7 Douglas Village, Douglas, Cork

bullys used to be a firm favourite of mine but i think they dont do themselves justice. the food is only ok. (except when they have the creole chicken on as a special. unreal) chips are fairly poor. service isnt great with bored looking waitreeses looking like they want u to hurry up and go so they can clear the table. i remember going to bullys when i was younger and had the most unbelieveable food. you could nearly smell the pizza down the road from the oven they used to have in the restaurant itself. They should realise what they used to do sooo right and go back to it. It says a lot when i go in on a sat evening with no booking and can sit straight away. what a shame

profile_review

El Vino
U11 East Village, Douglas, Cork

i went for dinner here with my mum and auntie a couple weeks ago and i cant wait to go back. the food was superb. but a starter would nearly do for your whole meal as the portions were so big. at first glance i was dreading it. it looks small and cramped and thought it would be uncomfortable and squashed. i was very wrong.it was nicely intimate and the staff made sure not to pass in a way that youd have to move. they were pleasant and helpful.we had intended going elsewhere for drinks but the atmosphere was so good we ended up having three bottles of wine and even another round after that. superb!!!!!

profile_review

Zaks Restaurant (Cork)
No 4 Marlboro Street, Cork City, Cork

Its nearly worthwhile going to zaks for the chips alone. they are so tasty and fresh i could have them as my whole dinner. I regularly visit zaks at lunchtime as i work nearby and the food is always great as is the service. the food is brought out quickly but doesnt take away from how good it tastes. would highly recommend this place to anyone anytime

profile_review

Scoozi!
2-5 Winthrop Lane, Winthrop Street, Cork, Cork City, Cork

I went here for my friends birthday and what a disaster, had to sit and wait for a table for the best part of an hour. the staff were rushed off their feet so dont know if thats what the lack of social skills was down to or what it was but felt like i was intruding by being there. its only redeemable quality is the unbelievable chicken wings which made it nearly worth the wait. i suppose i was so hungry by that stage toast would have been unreal. was squashed into a small table that would have fit two confortably not 5. would never go back

profile_review

Revolution Gastro Bar
John Street, Waterford City, Waterford

for the past two years i have been a regular visit to waterford. one of the first times i went down i had lunch in revs.now when im down and go for lunch i wouldnt consider anywhere else. the food is gorgeous, the staff are helpful and friendly and its just generally great. only complaint is that its really dark in there for some reason. would defo recommend this to anyone
