I am a lucky lucky girl and was lucky enough to be brought here (as a surprise) for my birthday. From the moment we entered, we were greeted by extremely attentive and friendly staff. All night we were given outstanding service. The food was top notch, beautiful wine washed it all down nicely. We had the table to ourselves for the night which was nice. I can't wait for the next special occasion to come here again. It is in its own league and has been managed to perfection. Thank You to all at PG for the most amazing dining experience I have ever had! It was worth every penny!

I like this place. In my whole life I've been here millions of times. I like it because you know what to expect, the food always satisfies, the service is always good and it's good value. Usually I like places a little smaller, a bit more upmarket and with a more creative menu but Joels still satisfies me each time. If there's a queue I don't mind waiting because I get to get in a few Cosmos before my meal. My father is disabled and when I bring him out here they always look after him. They know him by name and always come over for a chat and try to seat us as soon as possible as close to the entrance as possible. They are always extremely attentive and although this place really packs out sometimes, it is worth the wait. It's also great value and my all time favourites are the fillet steak and the plaice. Good for a big group, pity you can't reserve a table though. The soup is incredible and any long timers will know that the fudge brownie is never on the dessert menu but they usually always have it so just ask your waiter and if they have it, I guarantee you the finest, tastiest fudge brownie you've ever tasted! My only dissapointment is the gravy, it has gone downhill in the last year or so...other than that, top marks all round!

Cornstore (Limerick)
19 Thomas Street, Limerick City, Limerick

Love this place. Got beef carpaccio to start and venison for main. All ingredients beautiful and fresh. Great wine menu. Staff are on the ball and professional. Been here 3 times and can't wait to go again. My favourite restaurant in Limerick so far.

Mao Restaurant (Chatham Row)
2-3 Chatham Row, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Came here with a few friends. There was a special on so it was good value for what we got. I got Nasi Goreng for main course. Impossible to finish as the portion is so big but that's a good complaint to make. The staff were great. Wine list is good too. Probably not the most comfortable of restaurants but still a nice place. Not too fancy so it was slightly laid back. A nice place to eat, I'll be back.

Siam Thai (Andrews Street)
14/15 Andrews Street, City Centre South, Dublin

Siam Thai is a great spot for Thai food. You know what you're getting and it's a nice relaxed atmosphere. I came here with a big group, we sat downstairs. Plenty of space for us all. I got a soup for start and green curry for main. The food is great. Nice wine and cocktails too if you'd like to have a drink or two after. The group I was with enjoyed their food too, no problems at all. The staff were great. Toilets clean. All rounder!

Ananda
Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin

The food is fabulous, the staff are attentive. I had one of the tasting menus with lots of bits for starters, beautiful fish course, a juicy, delicious lamb for main, yummy choc dessert. Beautiful wine too. Love the decor, it's really spacious too. The food is presented really nice. My sister got some of her dish in a small jar which was very imaginative. Can't wait to return!

Siam Thai (Dundrum)
Dundrum Town Centre, South Dublin, Dundrum, Dublin

Came here for lunch. Two courses as well as tea for €15 which is great. I got Tom Kha soup and seafood salad, both delicious. My friend went for Tom Yum soup and Beef garlic and chillies (my fave dish there) and loved it. Staff very pleasant and I love the comfortable seats. Tasty....very nice lunch. I've been here several times before for dinner. Loved it every time, I just wish it was a tiny bit more authentic.

Shanahan’s on the Green
119 St. Stephens Green, Dublin , City Centre South, Dublin

My 2nd dining experience at Shanahan's. The first time I came here was for a really special occasion, we were seated downstairs and I was totally in awe at the amazing service & food. My second experience here was slightly different. We came on a Saturday night which was obviously busier than our previous visit which was a Saturday and our table upstairs wasn't as good as downstairs. My first flaw, not enough staff. Our waiter appeared to be dealing with several tables and we saw very little of him. The food: As delicious as ever, steak cooked as rare as I like it, beautiful starter of salmon. My friend had Caesar salad which was fab. Portions are enormous, I would recommend the Petit Fillet as the Fillet Mignon is enormous and with side dishes can almost be impossible to finish. The desserts....WOW, tasty!! On the bad side, we waited over a half hour for our main courses and then about 15mins for espressos after dessert. We were left with our empty plates on front of us for the duration of the meal which I think is a sign of bad service. The solution would have been to have at least one more person waiting upstairs to inspect tables for such things. We were never asked if everything was OK, had we been asked we probably would have mentioned that we'd been waiting so long between courses. Anyway, I want to end on a good note. I really like this place, I just think for the money that is spent, service could be better. Afterwards we we went down to the Oval Office, I love it down there. It has so much class and is very relaxing to have a drink to top off a tasty meal. I will give it another chance and might come back in the future as the food is great. That bread.......too nice for words!

Tamara Restaurant
Unit 11/18 Belgard Square, Tallaght Town Centre, West Dublin, Tallaght, Dublin

Great place. I've been here lots of times. Probably one of the best restaurants in the area. Food is always beautiful and the decor is fabulous. I even love the plates and dishes that are very pretty. I always always go for the Mongolian beef, it is out of this world and the shredded chicken for starters is the best of its kind. Only thing I don't like is them set desserts that a lot of Chinese restuarants offer. While I have many positives about this place, I have one negative. The service could be a bit better although they always make up for it if something goes wrong. One time I came here and we were waiting 15 for a table we had already reserved, the staff were kind enough to offer a drink as a token of apology. On another occasion, I waited so long for my main course that the others had all finished by the time I received mine, even though they had already waited several minutes to begin theirs in the hope that mine would come out. Again they were apologetic and gave us a complimentary round of drinks. I really enjoy the food and atmosphere here, they always have a full house at the weekend but I just hope that next time I come my experience will be seamless, otherwise I might go elsewhere. All the same, I can't wait for my next visit!

YO Sushi Clarendon St
Brown Thomas, Clarendon St, Dublin , City Centre South, Dublin

I love Yo Sushi It is fun and tasty. Can get a bit pricey and even though there's a great deal for €10, you still always want one or two pieces more. I think they need to pay more attention to the levels on the belt as once or twice I'd waited for a while for a particular piece to come around only for somebody ahead of me on the cycle to take the next available one. For a casual lunch, something laid-back, Yo Sushi is nice. I come here regularly and will be back soon!

Il Caffe di Napoli
41 Westland Row, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I used to work nearby and would pop in for an espresso daily and sometimes lunch. The staff here are terrific, so friendly, always remember your face and very helpful. Love the pizzas, pastas, antipasti but mostly the coffee. THE BEST ESPRESSO IN DUBLIN by a mile. A real authentic Italian feel. Love the restaurant downstairs. They do some really tasty soups here too which I used to always get. Always a good experience here. I also buy my coffee beans here to grind at home myself, it's SSSSSOOOO good!

Wagamama - Stephen's Green
St Stephen's Green Centre, South King St, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Wags does great lunch specials. I come here every so often and always leave happy. Usually never have to wait more than 5 minutes for a table. I've had several dishes here and each were really tasty. Staff are really efficient, fast & friendly. One of my favourite places to eat!

FIRE Restaurant and Lounge
Mansion House, Dawson Street, Dublin 2, Dawson Street, Dublin

Brought my boyfriend here for his birthday. The layout is really nice, the food is delicious and staff friendly. The food: lamb starter, yum. Prawns also yum. We both had steaks, they were also tasty, desserts and wine great too. Just two criticisms, the waiter was really friendly but foolishly went on saying that he thinks the food there was overpriced, not something I need to listen to if I'm paying the bill. Secondly, I saw a waiter accidently knock over a flower on the table he was serving and noticed a man that appeared to be a manager get frustrated. Again, not something the customer needs to see, it was an accident. I would come here again although I will look out for a special offer next time as it was a tiny bit overpriced. Nice meal overall.

Cornucopia
19/20 Wicklow Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I visited Cornucopia with some friends as it catered to as friend who is has some food intolerances. Firstly, I queued for around ten minutes. I understand that it was lunchtime but I think table service would have been a better idea and would have been quicker had it been an option. My friend got houmous which had far too much garlic which meant she couldn't finish her meal. The others were satisfied with their meals. I ordered quiche which was nice, some salad and a slice of bread. This came to over €16, far too overpriced for what I got. I then got fruit salad and an espresso which was over €6. Again, overpriced. A SMALL bowl of fruit salad should be no more than €2 and the espresso no more than €2, €4 would be a reasonable price for this. While there are lunch specials cheaper than this, my meal should not have cost over €22 which it did. The espresso is made from them packets that are put into a machine. The kidney bean salad is delicious and was by far the best thing I had. I don't know if I'd be rushing back to eat here as it wasn't great value for money. There are other places in Dublin offering 2 and 3 courses for the price I paid. I would probably only come back if they offered table service at lunchtime.

Marco Pierre White Steakhouse & Grill
51 Dawson Street, Dublin 2, Dawson Street, Dublin

Had the set menu from the Dine In Dublin week offer. I had the potted duck, calves liver & creme brulee while my partner had the soup of the day, rib eye beef and eton mess. We had the Argentinean Malbec to wash it down. Wow! One of the nicest meals I've ever had, value for money, excellent service. Although this was a specially priced menu we asked waitress for normal menu to have a look for next time. The prices are extremely reasonable if not cheaper than many other places of a lesser standard around Dublin. I was highly impressed, can't wait to come back (which I definitely will in a few weeks time) and try the fillet steak. The steaks here are fab and if you want a dessert that will blow your mind, two words ETON MESS!!!!!! Thank You all at MPW for a truly amazing dining experience.

Koh

Had a delicious meal here. I had the Massaman curry which was beautiful. My partner had the Green curry which was equally flavoursome. Seems to be a great place to go. When we arrived we had to wait about 20 mins for our table to be ready even though we'd booked in advance but the bar is really nice and it had a nice atmosphere so I was more than happy to wait there. I'll be back again soon.

Little Caesars of Rathfarnham
Rathfarnham Orchard, Butterfield Ave, South Dublin, Rathfarnham, Dublin

Cheap and cheerful. Bit packed, not much room between some of the tables, especiall for bigger groups. Great lunch menu, most dishes are around 8euro. Myself and a friend had lunch here several times and it totalled less than 40euro, what a bargain. Tasty canneloni and seafood pasta. Not my favourite place to eat but great for lunch but hard to have a private conversation when it's busy in the evening though.

Bonga Korean BBQ
52 Capel Street, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

Serious fun here. I came here with 9 other girls for my friend's birthday celebrations. We payed just over 20euro each for all you can eat and 1 hour karaoke. We had such a great night. There was so much food to choose from and needless to say I tried everything there was to offer and enjoyed most of it, especially the red meats and the squid.....and the desserts, tasty ice cream and fruit. One of the advantages is that you can bring your own booze which was great for the wallet and meant I could bring my favourite wine. After dinner we enjoyed two hours of karaoke which was so much fun. The rooms are so good, very hot tho but what would you expect with ten girls dancing and singing their souls out. We also brought our own booze upstairs to the karaoke and only had to pay 25euro for the 2nd hour of karoke which was only 2.50 each which was great. Great fun for a group of people, great value and such a novelty night out, just a pity we didn't book a third hour of karaoke as we had so much fun!

The Old Mill Bar And Restaurant
Old Bawn Road, West Dublin, Tallaght, Dublin

I go here for carvery most weekends, both Saturday and Sunday but at least once. The carvery is the best around. The vegetable soup in incomparable and one of the best things about this place. The meat is always delicious and the sauces are great to accompany them. I usually order soup and a half portion of my main because the full portion is so big and I even struggle with the half portion. The gravy is out of this world and my favourite dish by far is bacon with parsley sauce. I like the odd lasagne but my soup is always a sure thing. The staff are extremely friendly and the chefs in particular are always friendly and welcoming. I've also been here a few times for the food from the menu (waiter service). For pub grub it's really good. My favourites are the steak and scampi which comes with a yummy tartar sauce. I am like a regular there for their food at this stage and I've never heard a bad review about this place.

Scent Garden Restaurant
1st Floor Scholars Pub, Ballycullen Road, Tallaght, Tallaght, Dublin

Probably one of the nicest Asian restaurants in Tallaght. I've ate here several times, each time enjoying it immensely. The menu is terrific, lots to choose from and a good explanation for those who aren't too sure about what the food is like. It is also great value and I love the staff here, always so friendly. I also sometimes take away from here which is always top class. The last time I came here my partner and I came with my friend and her partner. We came midweek for the set menu which really is great value, 20euro for pretty much a four course meal. Salt and Pepper Chilli chicken for starter and Prawn hot garlic for main course, a glass of nice house red also. The set dessert is ice cream which just washed down the food nicely. For 20euro you can't go wrong, especially if you want to eat out on a budget. I love this place and I love the atmosphere here. Can't wait to return!

Captain America's Cookhouse and Bar (Tallaght)
Unit A3 Tallaght Cross Dublin 24, Tallaght, Dublin

Probably won't be going back here again. I visited with my family one afternoon just because we weren't bothered cooking dinner and weren't in the humour for a formal meal. We got a mixed platter for starter as well as chicken wings which were both pretty tasteless and the sauces were another story. They just did not go with the dish. I got scampi for my main course which really let me down. The "tartar" sauce was merely some tasteless foam that clearly could not have been tartar sauce. I asked the waitress for another one which she brought after about ten minutes, this also was definitely not tartar sauce so as a last effort to salvage the greasy scampi I asked the waitress for mayonnaise. What I received also was not mayonnaise. OK, I understand some restaurants like to have their own sauces but they should make sure that they are edible before they give them to customers. We all agreed that the sauces were just odd; the bottle of Heinz tomato ketchup on the table was the only sauce worth putting our food near. The burgers weren't the best and the chicken curry also wasn't the best but that's to be expected for an American restaurant. The place was severely understaffed. Our waitress took forever, she took at least ten minutes for everything we wanted and it ended up taking the guts of two hours to complete our meal. I have to admit though that the fudge brownie I got was incredible. It was my last attempt for satisfaction and I got it... Pity I didn't just order one at the start. I put any mistakes down to teething problems and really tasteless, disgusting sauces. The staff numbers need to be increased, they need to communicate, I asked one for something but they just never bothered to get it or pass on the message. I won't be back for a while and if I do it will just be for Fudge brownie and maybe cocktails which I heard are nice there! They also need to sort out some sort of wind shield at the door as I had to keep my jacket on for the whole meal as the wind kept blowing in.

Herald and Devoy
Osprey Hotel and Spa, Devoy Quarter, Naas, Kildare

Nicest meal I've ever had in my whole life and also the best service I have ever experienced. I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights and reserved my evening meal here for the first night. I was unaware how amazed I would be. This place could be faulted for nothing. Absolutely top class. The menu is great, something for everyone. I had a seafood starter which was amazing and my partner has french onion soup en croute. He wasn't keen on the en croute part but he took it off so no problem there, both starters were amazing. For main course I had the most amazing venison which still makes me drool to think about and my partner had steak. Both cooked to absolute perfection. I like my meat rare and rare was what I got. I also got the most delicious dessert.....WOW!! The wine was fabulous, the staff were fabulous, the intervals between ordering and receiving food and between each course were perfect and all the same.....what amazing service, every member of staff that we met were so friendly and truly attentive. I would highly recommend the venison and can't wait until my next visit here. I can't rave about it enough. This place gets it right and there is nothing I can fault it for, absolutely nothing!!

India Gate
1st Floor 26b Nutgrove Shopping Centre, South Dublin, Rathfarnham, Dublin

My favourite Indian restuarant. I absolutely love this place. I visit every few months (so the novelty doesn't wear off). The food is absolutely delicious, I like to taste new things when I come here but my favourite is still the old reliable chicken tikka masala, the best around. My mouth waters with the tasty poppodoms and dips (especially the red onion). The wine list is great, the menu is really great and the staff as so nice. They provide those special little touches that make your meal more enjoyable. Their food is also great to take away and the India Gate in Tallaght is also on top form. I also like to order the indian tea and the coffee here as they are just superb. My partner thinks the coffee here is the best he's ever tasted and I really love the pistachio ice cream, just to wash it all down. They get it right every time. I've never actually brought my own but people can actually bring their own wine for a small corkage fee which can appeal to many people.

The Kingswood Country House Restaurant & Bar
Kingswood House, Kingswood, Naas Rd, Kingswood, Dublin

I had one of the nicest meals here. I ordered rabbit to start and weal for my main course. Both were absolutely delicious. My partner had spinach and broccoli soup and medallions which were also delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly medium and we shared the most amazing bottle of wine with our meal. The staff were extremely attentive and were very polite. The espressos were perfect but I wasn't too keen on my poached pear but I think it was because I was full rather than not liking it. I've been here on several occasions and will be back many more times. The only thing is the prices. My main cost 32euro and my partners medallions cost 31euro. I didn't mind paying because the restaurant is really nice and the food is delicious. I do think that if they lowered the prices slightly, the restaurant would appeal to more people though.
