I visited with 2 friends recently and we had the pre theatre menu. We were all delighted with our choice of food. Good selection on the pre theatre menu and very good value. The decor and ambience in Fire is brilliant. Firstly we had a lovely selection of breads, really fresh. For starters we had fish cakes and goats cheese. No complaints from anyone. They don't do half bottles of wine just glasses or bottles. The wine seems expensive - even the house wine is €25 however the pre theatre menu itself is very good value. For mains we had the cod with huge chunky chips, ravioli and chicken. All superb. We had dessert even though we were full but enjoyed it all the same. Great service, friendly staff. We'll definitely go back.

Dall' Italiano
Harts Corner, North Dublin, Glasnevin, Dublin

First visit for after work casual dinner. Very impressed. The food was very good, great selection of pastas and some nice specials. Very good value. 2 starters, 2 mains and a nice bottle of Nero D'Avola cost around e50. We will definitely be back. The restaurant was very empty so that's why there wasn't much of an atmosphere. The decor is authentic and background music was Italian.

El Bahia Moroccan Restaurant
37 Wicklow Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

We really enjoyed our first visit to El Bahia and will be back. First experience of Moroccan food. Very tasty. We had the menupages deal: €34 for 2 people: 2 courses and 1 glass of wine. The decor is lovely and you would never think you were in Wicklow Street. Excellent music too.

Il Vicoletto
5 Crow Street (Next to Foggy Dew Pub), Dublin 2 , City Centre, Temple Bar, Dublin

What a gem in the middle of Temple Bar. My first visit and I'll certainly be back. So authentic. Cosy, cheery decor, Very welcoming. The Early bird menu is very good value: €16.50 for 2 courses. I had the gnocci which was wonderful. A great selection of fresh Italian bread accompanied the starter: foccacia, walnut bread. For mains I picked the Oven roasted chicken in tomato and olive sauce with rosemary potatoes. Fabulous. Clientele was mainly tourists but this local will certainly be back.

Fogertys Restaurant
Market Street, Clifden, Galway

Fogartys is under new management. It has been redecorated and looks very well. The menu has also changed. We weren't offered the early bird so I'm not sure of the times. The new menu is more upmarket. Starter of pork belly with black pudding looked really impressive. Presentation was wonderful however the black pudding was just ok. The other starter of fish cakes was really tasty - lots of fish. Mains: sea bass with wonderful basil and olive mash. The chicken main dish was divine - very indulgent. We were too full for dessert. There were only 2 disappointments: the ordinary brown bread. As an accompaniment to the new improved dishes some unusual breads would have been better i.e. walnut or tomato breads. Also background music didn't add to the traditional Irish ambience. However we were very impressed and will be back.
