Came here on a Taste "lunch for 2" deal. Great atmosphere, the place was buzzing! Food was absolutely delicious. Both had melon for starter, tuna on stone and Orange Salad for mains. Add a superb Organic white wine, and it was a really superb meal. We didn't have dessert today, but I know from previous occasions that the chocolate soup is brilliant! We'll be back!

FIRE Restaurant and Lounge
Mansion House, Dawson Street, Dublin 2, Dawson Street, Dublin

Great atmosphere, lovely food and good service, and the dining room is spectacular, with a huge wood burning oven set into the corner, high ceilings with beautiful glasswork. We have eaten here before and chose Fire again to celebrate our daughter's graduation. The place was packed and buzzing (lots of Tcd graduates and families!) but the staff were on top of things. There is a lovely seating area to have a drink or cocktail while waiting for your table, or after your meal if you want to linger. We had caesar salads and goats cheese starters, all yummy. For mains, we had steak, spinach and ricotta cannelloni, pork chop. Everything was very, very good, and served by friendly and efficient staff. Desserts were chocolate tart, selection of ice creams, and a cheeseboard. Our daughter's dessert came with "Congratulations" written on the plate, which I thought was a lovely touch. Set dinner menu at €40pp was good value for the quality of the food and the experience. Will definitely be back!

Peploes Wine Bistro
16 St Stephen's Green, Dublin , City Centre South, Dublin

Had a late lunch (3pm booking) here last week with a group of friends. We were cold throughout the lunch. The air conditioning unit was above our table, leaving the area very cold. We asked immediately to move to another table; our request was refused, even though there were several empty tables, which remained empty throughout our stay. Again when our dessert was served, we asked to move and were told we could sit at the bar if we wanted! The restaurant was practically empty at this stage! Food was good but not exceptional, vegetables had to be ordered separately, and cost €3.95 per serving. I consider this a rip off when you are paying €30 for a main course!! Service was mediocre. Our wine glasses were kept well topped up, but water glasses were not. We were asked several times if we wanted another bottle of wine, which we did not. I had intended booking for another lunch with friends, but will now go elsewhere. I would not go back to Peploes, and would not recommend it. There are much better restaurants in the vicinity with better food, value and service.

Farm Restaurant (Dawson Street)
3 Dawson Street, Dublin 2, Dawson Street, Dublin

We went here for a celebratory lunch for our daughter's graduation. Farm was chosen because they do vegan dishes as well as non-vegan; our daughter is vegan. We had Spanish Omelette, Farm Homemade Falafel, Chicks in Town and Ultimate 7oz Steak Baguette.Desserts were vegan chocolate cake, a toblerone cheesecake, a sticky toffee pudding and a cheesecake. Everything was excellent. Special mention for the staff. They were incredibly nice, each of them congratulated our daughter on her Grad., and very very attentive while not intrusive. Our daughter forgot a card with a lot of money inside on the table, and they rang me to tell me, and held it safely until I collected it. It was a fantastic experience, thank you so much for making our day very special, one we will never forget. We have been to Farm a few times before, and will definitely go back again!

Dada Restaurant
45 South William Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Staff here were really lovely, friendly but professional. On the Sunday when we visited, we were almost the only people in the restaurant, but it probably is more busy at lunch/dinner times. Food was nice; we had Zaaluk and Fried Spinach to start, and tagines ( chicken, braised chicken, vegetable) for mains. There was plenty of food, we weren't able to finish all of it, and so had no room for dessert. One of our party had Moroccan Mint Tea, which I highly recommend; the scent from it was divine! We had a voucher (deal) but the early bird and lunch menu are both about the same price as using a voucher.

Morilles Bistro
The Yellow House, Willbrook Road, Dublin 14, Rathfarnham, Dublin

Sunday lunch in Morilles is a lovely affair. Staff are friendly and very professional. We loved the board of breads, pesto and olives. We opted for 2 courses: main and dessert. Hubby had roast beef, which was perfect, along with a huge yorkshire and veg. I had chicken supreme, again delicious, and a lovely selection of veg. For desserts we chose lemon meringue pie, and (my absolute favourite!) chocolate fondant. Morilles do the best choc fondant, it is always cooked to perfection! Great value, great food, great service. Love this place!

Brasserie Sixty6
66/67 Great South Georges Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

A family lunch here was very enjoyable. We had a Menupages voucher; 2 course lunch. The menu was somewhat restricted- 3 choices of starter and main. However, one of our party was vegetarian, and the waitress allowed him choose from the a la carte, without any compliment. We had duck leg confit and Caesar salad to start, and hake (absolutely delicious!) and a sausage dish for mains. The vegetarian options were mushroom soup, and a risotto for main. A really nice bottle of Chablis completed what was a very pleasant lunch. Waitresses were most pleasant and professional.

Tavern
Dylan Hotel, Eastmoreland Place, Dublin, Ballsbridge, Dublin

The staff are the best asset in this hotel: they were really lovely, and the service was exceptional. The food was a big let down; when you have just 3 choices in each section (we dined on a deal), it's not that difficult to get it right. To be honest, the food tasted as though it had been prepared earlier, and microwaved. We waited 30 minutes for our starters: roasted parsnip soup (way too gloopy) and melon and parma ham (swimming in juice). Main courses were a chicken risotto, which was nice but not exceptional, and pork plate, which tasted microwaved.Desserts were chocolate brownie (dry), and cheesecake (mediocre). Overall, we were disappointed, and felt it was a pity that the food didn't measure up to the beautiful decor and very pleasant staff. Our deal, including a bottle of nice wine, was €60.

Rustic Stone
South George's Street, Dublin, City Centre South, Dublin

Love this place! 6 of us friends had a Christmas lunch get-together. We all loved every single bit of food that we ordered, but the highlight had to be the steak and fish on stone. I don't normally like the bother of cooking my own food, but this was different. The flavours were absolutely delicious! Service was excellent, and we thought it was very good value too. Will be back again soon!

Rustic Stone
South George's Street, Dublin, City Centre South, Dublin

Had a fantastic night here, on a Menupages voucher for a 3 course meal, bottle of wine and 2 cocktails. The staff were really pleasant and welcoming, and the menu had plenty of choice. We had the breads and dips, and tempura of salmon for starters. Plenty of food on both choices, and every bite was delicious! For mains we both opted for halibut on stone for main, with sides of truffle chips. We loved all of it; weren't able to finish it, but enjoyed every bite! For dessert we had a catalan cascade and a Brulee Pan D’epice, both were nice though not outstanding. We finished with 2 cocktails in the upstairs bar, where there was also a great atmosphere. My dining companion has just returned from Paris, and she thought this was fantastic value at €60, much better than Paris....you can't get a much higher recommendation than that, and the place was buzzing on a Tuesday night! Rustic Stone is definitely a restaurant to visit!

BANG Restaurant & Bar
11 Merrion Row, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

Had lunch on a Menupages deal, 2 courses plus Prosecco. We were the only 2 people in the restaurant for most of lunchtime (it was a Monday!), which was a pity, and a bit disconcerting. Staff were really lovely, service was very good and not intrusive. We had soup and tuna for starters, both were delicious. For mains we both had hake with prawn dumpling and pak choi; it was very good. The waitress suggested a shared portion of fries, which was just perfect. For dessert we had berry parfait and carrot cake. The carrot cake wasn't great, a bit dry, lacking in flavour and had no icing (I love a cream cheese icing on carrot cake!). Nice coffee completed our meal. We paid extra for the fries, desserts and 4 coffees: in total €38, which I felt was reasonable. Bang is a lovely restaurant with excellent staff.

La Reserve Artisan Brasserie
53 Ranelagh Village, Dublin 6, Ranelagh, Dublin

The food here was fabulous! We had a Menupages voucher, but their EarlyBird is also very good value. The value ("Market") menu is very restricted, just 3 mains on offer. We both had the chicken, there was also a cod bake and some kind of crepe. The chicken came with the most delicious and cream mash I've ever had, and also had lovely, crunchy veg. on the side. The sauce (a port reduction) was really good. For dessert, we both had the crepe but that was disappointing. It was dry and the filling was uninspiring, cubes of pear and a chocolate sauce. The dessert menu also had a cheeseboard and a plum cake. I imagine either of these would have been a better choice. Coffee was good, wines excellent and service attentive but not overpowering. This is a small restaurant, seats about 24, and quite French in style. We would definitely go back!

Farm Restaurant (Leeson St)
133 Upper Leeson St, Dublin 4, City Centre South, Dublin

Had a really lovely meal here, using a voucher. They have an extensive menu, much of which is organic or naturally farmed, and they have several vegetarian and vegan options. We had the vegetarian burger, and the regular burger, both of which were delicious and had nice accompaniments. A glass of Sauvignon was the perfect partner to our meals. We both had the "Farm Surprise" for dessert, which was a huge sundae glass filled to the brim with ice-cream, fruit, meringue and cream. It was totally yummy! Service was very good, attentive but not overwhelming, and our water pitcher was regularly topped up (many restaurants neglect this if you drink tap water, and it drives me mad!). Overall, a lovely meal, and the restaurant was full on this Sunday evening. Looking forward to going back soon.

The Bistro at Ella
7 Main Street, Howth, Howth, Dublin

We dined here on a Menupages voucher, 2 courses, which was really good value. The food is fantastic here, we had fish pie and lamb; both were absolutely delicious. Service is very friendly. Lovely wine list. Really recommend to try it, and they have a very good early bird deal!

Rustic Stone
South George's Street, Dublin, City Centre South, Dublin

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here. We shared breads n dips and salt cod to start, all delicious, and lots for 3 of us. For mains, 2 of us had a burger, which I don't often eat but was totally delicious. The crispy onions were a lovely addition, as were the polenta chips. I wasn't hungry enough to finish it all! The remaining member of our party had tuna on a stone, which she loved. Service was excellend and very friendly.. Would highly recommend it and will definitely be back soon!

One Pico Restaurant
5-6 Molesworth Place, Schoolhouse Lane, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

3 of us had a celebratory lunch here. Service was unbelievable: perfectly attentive but not overpowering. Food was absolutely delicious. We had 1 salmon, 1 beetroot and goats cheese starters, all of us had cod for mains and it was so good, cooked to perfection and lovely balance of flavours. Only 1 dessert....lovely chocolate and hazelnut pave, yummy! Only gripe is the wine list is quite expensive, wines start at €29! Will be back, and location is very convenient too!

The Bistro at Ella
7 Main Street, Howth, Howth, Dublin

Had a lovely evening here, it was quite busy, great atmosphere, friendly service, nothing was too much trouble, shared a pear and goat's cheese salad to start, then lamb curry, fish special for mains. Both were delicious. Chocolate nemesis and coffee completed a really lovely meal. The Spanish White wine is fab too! Altogether, a lovely evening, thank you Ella!

Vermilion
94-96 Terenure Road, Dublin 6 , Terenure, Dublin

We love the food in this restaurant, everything is so fresh, the staff are lovely and the food is superb. The spices are freshly ground, and it comes through in the flavours. Chicken Tikka Masala is a favourite, as is the mango and yoghurt dip that comes with poppadums.

The Box Tree
Stepaside Village, South Dublin, Stepaside, Dublin

Would recommend this restaurant, and will definitely return. We had a Menupages voucher, so we ate from the set menu, had a lovely goat's cheese croquette to start, rocket salad on the side. It was delicious. For main, my friend had a beef casserole and I had roast chicken. Both were beautifully presented, and totally delicious. We finished with rice pudding (a huge bowl of creamy pudding with fresh fruit on top) and a chocolate brownie with honeycomb pieces and vanilla ice cream: yummy! Service was attentive but not intrusive. The Box Tree definitely deserves its Michelin bib.

The Morehampton Brasserie (Previously the The Restaurant @ Donnybrook Fair)
89 Morehampton Road, Dublin 4, Donnybrook, Dublin

Have eaten here lots of times before, not on a deal, but this time we used a Menupages deal. We selected a table at the window, which initially was lovely, but just after our starters arrived, the table next to us became occupied by a party of 4 (two couples) who were loud and talked non-stop about weddings and hens nights they had been on. We couldn't have asked to move, even though the rest of the restaurant was empty, as we were at the end of a cul-de-sac. It ruined the rest of our evening. The food was ok, though not quite as good as I remember it being on previous occasions, and I wondered if this is because of the "deal". My fish was slightly overcooked and may have been frozen ("cotton wool" taste) but the chocolate fondant was delicious. I would probably go back again, but would not sit at that window table where you're trapped!

Meghna Tandoori
8-12 Terenure Place, Dublin 6, Terenure, Dublin

Dined here on a Menupages voucher. Thought everything was mediocre: decor, service, food, atmosphere. Will not be returning, there are much better Indian restaurants in Terenure.

Novo
Harry Street, St Stephens Green, Dublin

Went here on a dining out deal, and it was very disappointing. Our Brunch deal was a main course and Bloody Mary. My husband had the Burger and I had fish and Chips. My fish was way overcooked and had that "cotton wool" texture of frozen fish. The batter, while crisp, was too thick. The chips were quite good, but the pea purée was stone cold. My husband's burger was good but not outstanding. The 2 I've given for service is only because the waitress was friendly: otherwise service was basic and definitely not 5 star. We left after the main course and had dessert and coffee elsewhere, and would not go back again.

Matt The Thresher Seafood Bar and Grill
31/31 Lower Pembroke Street, Dublin 2, City Centre South, Dublin

I brought a group of tourists here for dinner. Matt the Thresher was one of the highlights of their trip: the food was delicious, each of the 14 enjoyed their meal, the diverse needs of the group were very well catered for, the staff were friendly and attentive. The wine list is extensive, and they have lots of nice wines by the glass: we had a Shiraz and a Pinot Grigio, both were very well received. They also have a full bar. I had hake, which was perfectly cooked, accompanied by lovely boiled potatoes, but no vegetables. For dessert, an apple crumble was totally delicious, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. The premises is distinctive, and there was a great atmosphere, really buzzing. Look forward to going back again soon!

JD's Steakhouse
4 Rathfarnham Road, Dublin 6W, Terenure, Dublin

We used a Menupages voucher for this visit, both had steak, and while it was nice, it was just as we would cook at home. Service was good, attentive but not overbearing. Everything was efficient, and we appreciated this as we were going on to a concert afterwards. The restaurant lacks atmosphere, and everything seems functional. There was nothing wrong with it, but we both agreed that we are unlikely to go back, even though it's very close to our home.

Brasserie Sixty6
66/67 Great South Georges Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

Really loved this place! Came here with some UK visitors, and had menupages vouchers for some of the meal. I couldn't get my printer at home to work, but the staff allowed me print the vouchers without any compliment. The food was fantastic, though our choice was limited as they had no baguette option left - we had opted for a 2.30 booking to avoid the lunchtime rush. We had chicken wings (delicious and huge portion!), burger (good but slightly overcooked for our taste and not asked how we'd like it cooked), Caesar salad (excellent), lemon and garlic chicken fillet(delicious). Very good value, especially with using some of our menupages vouchers. Would love to try the baguette lunch next time.

Damascus Gate
10 Upper Camden Street, Dublin 2, Camden Street, Dublin

Went here on a Menupages voucher, €35 for two of us, 4 courses. Great value, if you like this kind of food. We had a Mezze platter to share for starters, everything on it was delicious, and it came with home-made flatbread. For mains we took the owner's recommendations, one chicken dish with yoghurt and saffron rice, and a lamb with aubergine, both absolutely yummy! They had a good selection of desserts; we had baklava and toffee apple cake. Again, both were delcious. Coffee was ok, service was good but the restaurant became very busy about 7pm and I felt they needed one more staff member. However, those on duty did their best. Overall, another great Menupages experience!

The Bistro at Ella
7 Main Street, Howth, Howth, Dublin

We dined here on a Menupages voucher, but they have a very good value Early Bird also, which we will probably have next time. The service was perfect, friendly but not intrusive, and some very helpful suggestions re wine. The Spanish white that I had was really lovely! We didn't have starters. For mains we had Moussaka, which was delicious, lovely cheese sauce, and Curry of the Day which was chicken - beautifully presented and tasted really good. Desserts: 1. chocolate nemesis, a flourless chocolate cake, very rich, very delicious! 2. Berry Crumble with vanilla ice cream - absolutely delicious. Coffee was also very good. I would guess that if this restaurant were on the busy "main" street facing the pier, the prices would be considerably higher, but it's only a 5 minute walk away, and well worth it!

Alvito's Restaurant
Captains View, Captains Hill, Leixlip, Kildare

Ate here on a Menupages deal. Have to say, it was excellent! Both had Caesar Salad to start, it was absolutely delicious. It had lots of chicken and bacon; as a previous reviewer noted, the lettuce wasn't (traditional) Cos, however, we both enjoyed it immensely. We had Lasagne ("one of the best lasagnes I've ever had") and Pizza with Serrano Ham. Absolutely delicious. I wasn't able to finish the pizza and the waitress offered to put it in a box for me to take home. Desserts were Chocolate Mousse (delicious) and Italian Ice Cream (would have been better if taken from freezer 15 mins beforehand). Staff were very friendly, checked with each course if everything was ok, kept our water topped up. A lovely meal, excellent service and great value! Couldn't ask for anything more! We will definitely be back!

KC Peaches Cafe & Delicatessen (Nassau Street)
28/29 Nassau Street, Dublin 2 , City Centre South, Dublin

Loved this place, the food was delicious and the staff were lovely. I don't usually like "basement" restaurants, but KC Peaches didn't feel like a basement. They also have a lovely annexe which can be booked for private parties.

Dobbins Restaurant

The service was exceptional; attentive but not crowding us. Had the set Sunday lunch, considering the quality of the food it was great value at €26.
