Two friends and I had a lovely Earlybird here on Wednesday night, it was very quiet when we first arrived but a few more tables came in which added to the atmosphere. The food was gorgeous, I had the fish starter which I was very impressed with - quite light but full of flavour and I followed it with a chicken balti with peshwari naan, very tasty! My friends were equally impressed with their food too. Staff were friendly and helpful and service was very relaxed, which we enjoyed, The earlybird is €14.95 for 2 courses plus a tea or coffee so great value and we'd a couple of Cobra beers each so we paid €26 each, which included a tip. Well worth a visit!

Brother Hubbard
153 capel st, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

We'd a lovely lunch in Brother Hubbard in early July, the weather was lovely but we couldn't sit outside as the courtyard was full and we were in early!! Between us we'd a nice selection of salads, a roll and the daily special which was a tuna pate, all were delicious and we enjoyed every mouthful! We somehow found room for chocolate brownies and an orange cake which were both enjoyed with coffees all around. Service throughout was very pleasant and friendly - the impression is that these guys really care that everyone enjoys their restaurant! Go and enjoy but get there early as it really packs out by 12.30!!

La Pizzeria
38 Peter Street, Drogheda, Louth

We went to La Pizzeria last Thursday, the weather was awful but you wouldn’t have known it as this place was packed to the rafters! The room and furnishings are nice and casual and tables are close together but with enough space so that you feel that your neighbour can’t listen in! There were three of us and we all had different starters and mains from the fairly compact menu. My friend’s minestrone soup and mixed salads were good but the star was definitely my garlic mushrooms, they were lovely – mushrooms pan fried in a yummy garlic butter and served with a very fresh side salad, simple and gorgeous! Both of my friends had pasta, a massive portion of lasagne for one and pasta with a tomato sauce for the other, they were both very happy! I had a pizza and it was nice too, I’d have preferred a thinner crust (but I can always request that next time I suppose), still it was very tasty. Our shared tiramisu was a bit too cold in temperature but it didn’t stop us finishing it and we rounded up with coffees. The bill for this feast, along with a half carafe plus an additional glass of wine was €78 and we felt that we got great value for our money. Service throughout was friendly and efficient, we’ll definitely be back and if you plan on going make sure that you book in advance!

Eddie Rockets (Swords)
Main StreetSwords, Swords, Dublin

Brought the kids out for the €25 Family Special in Eddie Rockets this evening and we were all very happy with our visit. The children (6 and 4)had chicken nugget and small burgers while the adults had M50 burgers, these all came with fries and a soft drink - great value for what we had! The place was buzzing nicely and service was friendly, they were keen to get us moved on but thats understandable given that they were busy! Would definitley return for another cheap, tasty meal out with the family!

Soup Dragon
168 Capel Street, City Centre North, Dublin

Headed into Soup Dragon to use a voucher I bought on one of the deal sites. It was 1.30, on a Wednesday and it was very busy! The queue moved very quickly though and service was fast and efficient, as the name implies they specialize in soup and there's a wide variety of meat and veggie ones to choose from. I had a large Tuscan Bean Soup, it came with bread, a drink and a piece of fruit - for a fiver, great value! The soup was delicious, chunky veg and beans in a tomato base, the bread was really fresh too! I was lucky enough to get a seat (it only seats about 10 on high stools at a counter) so I ate in. This is not a place to have a leisurely lunch but for a quick, nourishing lunch it hits the spot, I'll definitley be back!

The Copper Kettle (Laois)
The Square, Durrow, Laois

We broke our journey to Cork with a detour into Durrow and the Copper Kettle. The whole premises (toilets included!) were spotlessly clean and comfortably furnished in a 'country cottage' style, the seating area was however quite cold so we kept our jackets on! We had coffees, a tea, some fabulous fruitcake and a scone, everything was very tasty and had a lovely homecooked feel to it! Service was friendly and speedy. Definitely a place to consider on the road to Cork!

The Wilton Pub & Restaurant
Sarsfield Road, Wilton, Cork

Headed into the Wilton for some Sunday Lunch while visiting the hospital across the road. We ate in the pub part which is big and bright with lots of comfy seating. Food is from a self service Carvery - there was a great selection of mains on offer and we had three roast dinners (2 beef, one lamb) and a lasagna. The roast dinners were lovely, great meat with a variety of potatoes and vegetable, the lasagna wasn't great however, the pasta in it was a bit hard and it had a load of cheddar cheese on top of it! Mains cost €12.50 for the roast dinners and €10.50 for the lasagna. Service was very good and all staff were pleasent.

Milano (Clarion Quay)
Unit 6, Excise Walk, Clarion Quay, Dublin 1, City Centre, IFSC, Dublin

Headed to Milano last Sunday for lunch with a mixed group of adults and kids, we'd been in the previous Sunday after the Santa train and the kids loved the play area so we decided to go back! After a slight mix-up with our booking, which was dealt with very professionally we were seated at our table for 9. Some of our party were a little late to arrive so our order was taken in two separate parts, this seemed to lead to some confusion as we had to wait a long time for our food and a starter never arrived! Food, when it came, was lovely as always, everything was demolished in no time! We followed up with Dolcetti - little desserts that come with a coffee, a brilliant idea!! Service in general was haphazard to say the least but this would seem to be the exception. In summary a great family restaurant, the play area for small kids really makes it for us!

L'Officina by Dunne & Crescenzi (Kildare)
Kildare Chic Outlet Shopping Village, Kildare, Kildare Town, Kildare

Visited on a very wet and windy Saturday and the restaurant was packed! We'd a main course, glass of wine and a coffee each, the food was lovely, very fresh and tasty too! Setvice was good in spots but not consistant. We paid €25 each including a tip, so not the cheapest lunch but enjoyable all the same!

Silken Thomas
The Square, Kildare Town, Kildare Town, Kildare

Popped in here for lunch after some retail therapy in KIldare Village, it was 2.30 on a Saturday afternoon and the place was hopping!! It's a huge place so we'd no problem finding a table. We ordered a cajun chicken bap and a club sandwich (6.70 each) plus a side of chips (1.75). Both sandwiches were very tasty and came with a bit of side salad, the chips were soso but we ate them all the same! We followed with a latte and a tea, service throughout was friendly and helpful. We ate off the bar menu but we noticed some people coming from the carvery and they had the most massive portions of food that I've ever seen - something to bear in mind if you fancied a 'real feed'!!!

Milano (Grand Canal Harbour)
Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin

Headed here at 5.30 after a Grand Canal Theatre show and the place was hopping! Luckily we'd booked ahead so there was no problem getting a table. We ordered 3 pizzas and drinks which all arrived quickly. We had an issue with the pizza my kids were sharing as it had black pepper on it ( this is how they all come apparently) and they, of course, wouldn't eat it. The waitress took it away and it was replaced speedily, with a smile and an apology (even though it wasn't their fault!), the manager also popped over to tell us the replacement pizza was on the way!! 5 out of 5 for customer service!!! We had a 50% off main courses voucher so the whole meal was very reasonable and as tasty as usual.

D'Vine - Closed
Distillery House, Dyer st, Drogheda, Louth

Ate in D'Vine on Wednesday night with two friends, expected it to be very quiet but it filled up as the night went on. Service was friendly and relaxed, all the staff that served us were lovely! We'd a good selection of food between us and it all went down very well, portions were generous, especially my friends bread and dips - this on it's own would have fed three of us as a starter!! My pizza main course was really tasty and my two friend had pasta dishes which they enjoyed, one chocolate mousse and three coffees rounded off our meal nicely. Our bill with 3 glasses of wine, 3 starters and 3 mains plus one dessert and 3 coffees was €79, great value for the quality of what we had. Toilets derserve a mention as they are set up with changing mats, nappies and other toiletry items - very thoughtful!!

ZAO Thai Restaurant
96B Omni Park Shopping Centre, Swords road , North Dublin, Santry, Dublin

Ate in Zao on Saturday before a trip to the ajoining cinema, we had a voucher from one of the special deal sites so we were entitled to a four course meal for two (cost us €35 for two). We were handed a special menu which was a lot more limited than the a la carte but which contained a good choice of starters and mains. We had salt and chilli tofu and duck spring roll to start, my tofu was a huge portion and was tasty, the duck spring roll was one small roll and was a bit light on duck! Mains were beef in honey and black pepper which was lovely and a chicken massaman curry which was just okay, only chicken, potato and sauce, could have done with some veg too! Dessert was ice-cream or chocolate cake and we'd two (not great quality) ice-creams. Two coffees finished our meal, all in all it was fine but I wouldn't hae liked to have paid any more than €35 for it.

Itsa @ IMMA
Irish Museum of Modern Art, Royal Hospital, Kilmainham, Dublin

Popped into Itsa for a quick bagel while up in the IMMA to see the Frida Kahlo Exhibition, it was Wednesday at about 1.30 but Itsa was very busy! I ordered my bagel to takeaway and the charming staff told me that it would take about 10mins, I think that they were surprised at how busy they were too!! Anyway, about 15mins later my bagel arrived, as it was a lovely day I had my bagel outside in the sunshine and very nice it was too!!

Yindees @ Lyrath Estate Hotel
Paulstown Road, Kilkenny City, Kilkenny

We ate in Yindees as part of a weekend package in Lyrath Hotel. The restaurant was quiet enough when we sat down but filled up gradually. The food was tasty and well cooked but not spectacular, I've had better thai food elsewhere. The stated value fo the set menu which we could choose from was €38 (included an additional soup course which we didn't have) - expensive for what it is. Service was friendly and not too over the top. A handy place to eat if you don't fancy going beyond the hotel but there's better value to be had in Kilkenny.

Campagne
5 The Arches, Gashouse Lane, Kilkenny City, Kilkenny

We had a lovely dinner here last night and it deserves 5 stars all round! The welcome was warm and friendly and the atmosphere buzzing! We ate off the earlybird menu and everything we had (chicken liver parfait starter, cod main and cappuccino mousse dessert for me, beef salad starter, rabbit main and rhubarb trifle for him) was really tasty, very well presented and served with a smile! Our final bill was €79.60, great value for 3 courses each, 2 coffees, 2 glasses of wine and 2 soft drinks. Well worth a detour if you find yourself in this part of the country!

Essence Bistro
75 Main Street, Swords, Dublin

A group of us decided to try out the €15 menu in Essence, for a Wednesday night it was quite full and there was a good atmosphere in it. Between the five of us we tried most of the €15 menu and everyone was happy with what they got, the only negative comment being that the steak wasn't 'as good as it usually is'! With 2 bottles of wine and a couple of soft drinks the bill (including service) came to €28 each, great value for what we'd had! Service on this occassion wasn't quite as good as usual (different staff) but was pleasant enough. Will definitley be back soon!!

Cafe Paradiso
16 Lancaster Quay, Cork City, Cork

We headed here for the Early Bird Menu on a Saturday eveninng, we were first in at 5.30 but the place filled up very fast! Choice on the Early Bird Menu was a bit limited but we ordered a starter of fritters, a risotto and a tower of mixed veg. The fritters were very tasteless and a bit greasy, of the mains my tower was lovely, very tasty but my husband didn't enjoy his risotto at all, we also had chunky chips which were fine! We finished with dessets of a brownie with white chocolate ice-cream (this was fab!) and an orange polenta cake which was also lovely! Service was fine. Our bill came to €80 which included a half bottle of wine, I thought that this was a bit dear for what we'd had. All in all an okay meal, worth trying but we won't be back in a hurry!

The New Ship @ Dooleys Hotel
Dooley's Hotel The Quay Waterford City, Waterford City, Waterford

We ate in The Ship as part of our weekend away in Waterford and were very impressed! The set menu is great value at €25 but be warned - the portions are huge!!! We started with a soup and a salad, for mains we both had chicken which was lovely and we could barely manage dessert but somehow managed to squeeze it in! Service was fast and friendly, definitley a class above most hotel restaurants!

profile_review

Planet Spice Indian Restaurant
16 Merchants Quay, Waterford City, Waterford

We'd a lovely meal here on a weekend away in Waterford, the staff are lovely, really friendly and helpful! The food was gorgeous, especially our mains of Butter Chicken and Chicken Korma but the best bill was the bill of €43 for 2 starters, 2 mains, half a bottle of wine and a couple of soft drinks - amazing value!!! Well worth a visit for anyone near Waterford!

Fuchsia House Restaurant & Gables Bar
Dundalk Road, Ardee, Louth

Two friends and I headed here for girlie dinner out last Friday and we really enjoyed it! We landed into the bar area where we could peruse the menus and order our drinks, our orders were taken here too. There was a great selection of menus to choose form as the earlybird and value menu werre running alongside the a la carte. Two of us had onion bhajee followed by chicken curry, these were both very tasty but the highlight for me was the delicious garlic naan that we ordered along with the curry. My other friend has spring rolls and a chicken main which she said was nice too. The only letdown was dessert which was a chocolate brownie, it was okay but not great. The final bill came to €80 for 3 starters and mains, 2 desserts, 3 coffees and 4 glasses of wine, great value!

itsa - Malahide
The Diamond, New Street, Malahide, Dublin

Headed into Itsa for a light Sunday lunch in the middle of January and the place was hopping! The three of us had a filled bagel and latte each which came to a total of €20.05, great value! The decor is really cool with a fab light fitting which is really eye-catching, food was up to Itsa's usual high standards and service was fast and friendly. Delighted to have an Itsa so close to home and we've been back several times since for coffee!

profile_review

Oscar Taylor Restaurant
Island View Hotel, Coast Road, North Co. Dublin, Malahide, Dublin

Nine of us (7 adults and 2 kids) headed here for a family birthday celebration recently - it was fairly busy, even at 5.30 in the evening! The food was fine, not a very imaginative earlybird menu but great value. Service, however, was poor, they were very obviously understaffed and the waiting staff were struggling to cope! We only had one bottle of wine and the bill for the 9 of us was only €149!!! Amazing value but not the place to go for attentive service!

profile_review

Pacifico Restaurant & Grill
Marine Court, The Green, Malahide, Malahide, Dublin

Headed here last Saturday night to use our Menupages Voucher, the restaurant was about half full so we got a nice table beside the window. I love the decor, it's quite simple but quirky and they had great Mexican/Cuban-style background music playing. Service throughout our meal was great - all the staff were really friendly and pleasant! Our food was lovely, we started with Nachos and Ribs, both really tasty, mains were pork for me and seabass for him, the pork was served in a lump and looked like a fillet steak, the flavour of it was nice but it was a bit dry in the centre, the seabass was good and served with a mountain of plantain mash! I fancied the coconut dessert but they didn't have it so we went for a Leche Cake and a Lime & Mango dessert. I wouldn't be mad about the Leche Cake but my husband loved it and I could only manage some of my dessert as it was huge!! We finished with okay coffees and rolled out the door! We'll definitley be back!

profile_review

Itsa @ Arnotts (Bagel Store)
Arnotts, Abbey Street, City Centre North, Dublin

Had lunch here today and it was fine, the bagels were up to their usual high standard and at €6 for a bagel and tea, good value too! The service at the counter was very friendly but the experience was a bit let down by a vagrant who was sitting at one fo the tables - ranting away to himself (using choice language) and dribbling down himself, he was there quite a while and no effort was made to move him! Will get a takeaway next time!!!

profile_review

Eastern Seaboard
1 Bryanstown Centre, Dublin Road, Drogheda, Louth

Headed here last Wednesday, on a very wet and windy winter night and the place was packed - great to see a restaurant doing so well!! There were a few of us so we'd a good selection of dishes from the menu, everything was very tasty and all plates were cleared! Service was a little hesistant this time around - our waitress seemed a little inexperienced. Our bill including a 10% tip came to €35 each - good value for starters, mains, a couple of drinks and a coffee each! We'll be back soon!!

profile_review

Masterson's Steakhouse & Wine Bar
17 Main Street, Swords, Dublin

We'd a lovely meal here in the lull between Christmas and New Years - we arrived at 5.30, without a reservation and the place was hopping!! The Manager managed to find us a table on condition that we would be gone by 7 and as we had 2 small children with us this was no problem. Service was great - friendly and speedy and all the food was lovely! Will definitely head here again for a more relaxed meal some evening - without the kids!!

profile_review

Black Bull Inn
Dublin Road, Drogheda, Louth

Enjoyed a lovely meal here recently, we dined in the restaurant and it was very civilised, the bar and lounge areas were hopping but we'd a much more serene atmosphere in our section! The service was second to none and the food was well cooked and very tasty, all three of us were very happy with our meals. We dined off the a la carte but our meal was still reasonably priced! Will definitley be back for more!!

profile_review

Coffee Scene
Main Street, Malahide, Dublin

Lovely coffee shop in Malahide which looks really well since it was done up recently! The staff are very friendly and always have a big smile for everyone. The food is tasty and reasonably priced but the best thing about here is that the scones are amazing - fresh, come with jam, butter and cream and, best of all, are big enough to share!!! Well worth a visit!

profile_review

Dún Restaurant
Royal Marine Hotel, Marine Road, Dún Laoghaire, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Ate in the Dun Bistro as part of a weekend package in the hotel which included a set menu for hotel guests. The food wasn't great at all and the dining room was lacking in atmosphere when we were there. The staff were doing their best but the quality of the food let down good service. In retrospect we would have be better to take our €20 each and used it against the a la carte menu but no-one suggested this to us at all. Certainly won't be eating dinner here again!!

profile_review

Cafe Gusto
3 Washington Street, Cork City, Cork

Headed into Gusto for a quick lunch on Friday and was very impressed! The food is fab, portions are big and it's great value too! I had a wrap with hummus, tabouleh and other goodies and my husband had the flying bacon on a seeded roll, both were delicious! Others among us had the soup which was a winner too, coffee and cakes were top class! The table beside us had some of the tapas plates and they looked great! All seating is on high stools so probably not a place for very young kids but great for everyone else - go there!!!

profile_review

Luigi Malones (Cork)
1-2 Emmet Place, Cork City, Cork

Headed here on Saturday for dinner with the kids and really enjoyed it! We ordered off the family menu - 2 adults + 2 kids meals (2 courses plus a drink for kids and tea/coffee for the adults) for €50, great value and a good selection of items to choose from. I had Nachos to start and an Americana pizza for mains, hubby had calamari and BBQ Chicken pizza, all the food was lovely, very tasty!! The kids had mini pizzas and icecream and were very happy too! The service was friendly and speedy without feeling rushed, the restaurant was busy enough, even at 6 and some larger groups were on the way in when we were leaving at 7.30ish. The only negative about this place is that the tables are a bit on top of each other, not the best place for a romantic dinner!! Great for a lively fun meal out!

profile_review

The Restaurant @ Marks and Spencer
Marks and Spencer, Grafton Street, City Centre South, Dublin

Was in town shopping and fancied something light to eat, headed up here expecting it to be quiet but it was buzzing! I had 2 of the small plates - chicken skewers and hummus, both were fine, tasty enough but nothing to write home about. Just had a glass of water so lunch cost me €9, not too bad! Service in the section I was sitting in was fine, the staff were very busy but pleasant too! Fine for a quick bite in town but not a place to linger for any length!

Pink Elephant
Mains Court, North Co. Dublin, Swords, Dublin

Headed here with a pal on a Thursday evening and had a very enjoyable Earlybird. There’s a great range to choose from as the each course of the Earlybird is chosen from the A La Carte menu. We had the combo and chicken satay to start and both were very tasty, mains were a stir-fry chicken and sweet and sour chicken and they were lovely too. Service was efficient but not that friendly- the staff seemed to have changed since my last visit. Worth a visit for the Earlybird.

profile_review

Chilli Shaker Indian Restaurant
River Mall, 32-36 Main Street, North Co. Dublin, Swords, Dublin

Headed here for an Earlybird with the girls on a Tuesday night, it was fairly quiet but there were a few tables occupied when we arrived and more came and went as the evening went on so it never felt empty. Even when quiet there’s a nice atmosphere here and we didn’t feel hurried at all as we sat and chatted over our coffees. All the food was gorgeous, portions were generous and everyone was very happy with their meals. The service was polite and friendly and we only paid €22 each for a three course meal, a beer and service, great value!! Not my first trip here and it definitely won’t be my last!!

Bits and Pizzas
15 Patrick Street, Dun Laoghaire, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

Visited here last Monday with Mam, my sister and 2 year old nephew, the restaurant was busy enough for a Monday. We chose from the value menu - the choice of starters was a bit limited but there were plenty of mains to choose from. The waiting staff were very good with my nephew and he enjoyed his pizza! Food was tasty, not spectacular but grand for a casual Monday night out!

Curved Street Cafe
Curved Street, Le Bar, Temple Bar, Dublin

I was in town with my Mam and we were in need of a good bowl of soup so we popped into the Cafe in the Film Base building. It has changed hands recently so the menu was a bit different to what they had before and a lot more limited! The hot choices were a tomato soup or a chilli hotpot, the only sandwich they had was a cheese, ham and branston pickle one. We were reluctant to head back out in the cold so we had 2 tomato soups and a sandwich between us. The soup was fabulous, homemade and delicious, the sandwich was a bit sparshly filled but it was on really fresh bread and tasty. We paid €15.80 for this and followed up with a couple of coffees and a shared scone (€7.70). Service was fine and the quirky cutlery and water glasses (jam jars!!) added to the charm of the place. We would probably go back again but would like to see a bit more variety in the savoury options!

Indie Spice Grill
Burgundy House, New Street, North Co. Dublin, Swords, Dublin

Went for dinner to Indie Spice on a Saturday night with a large group of friends, the restaurant was busy and service was smooth but a bit hectic by times. I had the salmon starter, which sounded lovely on the menu but was just average and I abandoned my usual checken bhuna in favour of a vegetarian dish, it came in a very creamy sauce which was too heavy for me, so I thought the food was okay but others on our table thought theirs was lovely. We paid €50 each for starters, mains, coffees and wine, granted there was a lot of wine on the bill but we felt that it was a bit expensive for what we had. I've been here for lunch a number of times and it's great value, wouldn't return at night for the 'full price' menu again.

Carlo's Restaurant
63-64 O'Connell Street, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

Headed to Cafe Carlo with husband and two kids(2 and 4) in tow for a family dinner, once inside its hard to believe that O'Connell Street is outside the door, it's small and cosy!! Service was fast and friendly, the food was tasty and good value, the children were happy enough with their pizza and garlic bread and watched the (silent) telly! Great for a casual meal but could get very cramped if it was full! Would head back in for little piece of peace and quiet in Dublin 1!!

Rolys Bistro
7 Ballsbridge Terrace, Dublin, Ballsbridge, Dublin

Headed to Rolys for a nice girls lunch out recently, the set lunch at €22.95 plus 10% service charge is great value - 3 courses plus a tea or coffee. We managed to sample a variety of the dishes available between us and everything was lovely, very tasty and well-presented! The service was speedy without being rushed and the place was packed, surprising for a mid January Saturday!! Well worth a visit!

Taste of Emilia
No. 1 Lower Liffey Street, City Centre North, Dublin

Taste of Emilia is great - it's like a little piece of Italy has been just dropped into Liffey Street! Great friendly staff, gorgeous food and a large percentage of Italian customers make this a welcome escape from a dreary Dublin Saturday! Love it, go there!!!

Mao Restaurant (Dundrum)
Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 14, Dundrum, Dublin

My sister and I took a break from our retail therapy with lunch in Mao!! The special lunch menu is €12.95 for starters and mains from a special lunch menu with a reasonable choice. Food was lovely, tasty and portion sizes were not huge but perfect for lunch. Service was friendly and speedy without making us feel rushed. Well worth a visit when in Dundrum!

Siam Thai (Malahide)
1 The Green, North Dublin, Malahide, Dublin

Was here for the earlybird menu on a Tuesday, the restaurant was very quiet when we arrrivd but filled up after a while. The food was lovely as always, I love the fact that the earlybird covers any starter and main from the a la carte menu (with some supplements) plus a tea or coffee. Service was promt but not that friendly - we didn't get a smile from our waitress at any stage at all!! Still I'll be back as the food is always good and the earlybird great value!

Gourmet Food Parlour Ballyboughal
Oldtown Road, Ballyboughal, Ballyboughal, Dublin

Had a nice lunch here with a friend on Saturday, I had been when it first opened and it was heaving but it wasn't that busy at all this time! My friend fancied something from the 'Breakfast' page and was disappointed to be told that it wasn't served after 12 (we were there at 1ish), even though it stated on the menu that it was available all day Saturday and Sunday, our waitress said that this was a 'misprint'?? Anyway we had soup and sandwiches and everything was very tasty, service was fine, just not as friendly as previously. We finished with a coffee each, for some reason decaf is an extra 50 cent per cup, a bit irritating!! The attached shops are well worth a wander around and all in all it's a nice venue for a little trip to the country - as long as you don't fancy a late breakfast on a Saturday (with decaf coffee)!!!

Madina Desi Curry Co
60 Mary Street, Dublin 1, City Centre North, Dublin

Popped in here for lunch at 2.30 yesterday and the place was dead - I must have missed the lunchtime rush!! Service was fine, attentive enough, I liked the way that a bottle of (tap) water arrived as soon as I sat down. I had a side of chana masala and a dosa masala, the food was just okay, the chana were tasty but I've had better elsewhere and I found the dosa to be a bit greasy. On the plus side the food is quite cheap and you can get a filling meal for a tenner! Was glad to have tried this restaurant but won't be rushing back!

Govindas Restaurant (Abbey Street)
83 Middle Abbey Street, City Centre North, Dublin

Usually pop in here for lunch if I'm in town on a Saturday, it's a real haven from the mad crowds! The food is lovely and the portions are HUGE, I usually go for a small plate and they pile it high, the fresh salads are really good too! The staff are always helpful and happy! Well worth a visit for a tasty filling cheap lunch!

Was here for the earlybird with my parents and sister, we'd a lovely meal, service was friendly and attentive and the place was buzzing at 6 on a wintery Thursday!! My parents were so impressed that they went back again the following week, enough said!!

Castellina Chianti
George's Hill, Balbriggan, Dublin

Have been here twice, once for earlybird and once for the full evening menu. Both meals were lovely, food was tasty, well cooked and there was plenty of it!! Service is excellant, the waiting staff are friendly and attentive, the earlybird is great value and the a la carte is reasonable. The only 'issue' I had was the bottle of wine we picked, it was awful but that was down to bad luck in our wine choice!!

Was here recently for Sunday Lunch with my folks - it's great value, €14.95 for 2 courses plus a glass of wine!! The set menu is a bit limited but there was enough on it to keep it us happy. The food was excellant and the portions while not huge were perfect. I found the service from our waiter a little frosty, I've noticed this on previous visits too, but other waiting staff seemed to be happier and more friendly!! Will definitley be back for earlybird or Sunday Lunch as it's a cheap way to experience this restaurant!

Great restaurant for an informal meal, I've been here a good few times and have always been lucky enough to get a table! The food is lovely, always tasty, I could quite happlily live on the tomato, sausage and bean casserole alone!! Service is always friendly and efficient and prices are very reasonable. Bring a gang with you to get to sample the widest possible range of dishes!!

Cape Greko (Malahide)
Unit 1 First Floor, New Street, Malahide, Malahide, Dublin

Headed into Cape Greko for lunch with a friend last Saturday, the restaurant is looking very smart since its recent makeover! We both had chicken souvlaki for mains and it was delicious, we also had a dessert each, my baklava was lovely, really sweet and nutty and not too big a portion which was perfect! My friends chocolate fudge cake was huge and she couldn't finish it, each dessert came with a scoop of good vanilla icecream. With a latte each our bill came to €37, good value for a nice relaxed meal and service was very friendly too!
