The is a formal setting yet a very relaxed atmosphere. The food is excellent and in abundance. One of our group was a celiac and they brought out celiac bread for her.

Milano (Dun Laoghaire)
1 Harbour Square, Crofton Road, South Co. Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin

I went to Milano for lunch we had a two for one main course voucher and luckly we did. For lunch their is no difference in price or no lunch menu, it would work out very expensive if we did not have the voucher. I order a Pizza spicy gizeppi it was nice but not much toppings on it. The service was very good and the staff were very helpful and friendly but it would not be a place that you could go to on a regular basis for lunch unless they started a lunch menu.

Hunters Hotel
Newrath Bridge, Rathnew, Rathnew, Wicklow

The setting is old world charm, it is a beautiful old style building with a the most relaxing gardens where tea/coffee can be served on the lawn weather permitting. I would visit the restaurant frequently for Sunday Lunch and you are always greeted with a welcoming smile and are always remembers. The food is beautiful especially their sorbets. There is never any problems asking for more and the veg. served is from their own garden. I bring my young son along and he is always catered for perfectly. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Sorrell’s Restaurant at the Green Isle Hotel
Newlands Cross, West Dublin, Clondalkin, Dublin

My first impression booking was not great and the person on the phone was very distracted. The decor was very poor it was cold and should not be called a restaurant as it is just and extention of the bar. It was very hard to hear when you were talking as the band in the bar was very loud. The service was like a stressed mother trying to get the dinners on the table and it was just handed to you. The food was good and hot but would not be my first choice again to go out for a birthday meal.

The Peacock Restaurant @ Finnstown Country House
Newcastle Road, West Co. Dublin, Lucan, Dublin

I visit the restaurant on a regular basis and find it to have old world charm, the staff are very friendly and there is a woman playing the piano which adds to the old world charm. Food is very good with good choice.

The Hanora D Restaurant
The Lucan Spa Hotel, Junction 4A, N4, Lucan, Lucan, Dublin

While the food on the set menu is basic it was hot fresh and very very tasty. The service was second to none we had at least three people looking after us. At 25 euro a head with a free bottle of wine per 4 guests it was great value and there was not problem asking for more. I would recommend it to any family as I brought my son with me and there was a choice on the kids menu differing in price and nothing was too much trouble to the staff. Worth a visit.
